During Flynn Bensen's last wildfire rescue, a woman died despite Flynn's best efforts to save her. He can’t escape his sense of failure or recurring nightmares, but he can escape to Marietta, Montana, to a new job as the head of Crawford County Search and Rescue. When he meets his scorching hot co-worker on his first day, Flynn feels like he might have just jumped from one wild fire to another that threatens to burn out of control despite his determination to keep a safe distance.
Outspoken, direct, and ambitious Kat Robinson isn’t thrilled to have a new boss—after all, if the timing had been different, she’d have been a shoe-in for Flynn’s job. But a single mom of a ten-year-old son knows where her priorities lay—with Brady, the light of her life. No way is she looking for a relationship and co-workers are always off limits. Too bad Flynn’s so darn hot, gorgeous, kind and authentic.
Will Flynn be the hero Kat needs to help her find the courage to fall in love again?

4 Understanding Everything Stars * * * * Spoiler Free- Limited Time Free Another HUGE HIT by Debra Salonen! She brings a new series to life. We meet Firefighters/ Search and Rescue Manly Men who relocate to Marietta Montana. There we have a wonderful story of heart, devotion, understanding of sacrifice and family. Coupled with all the beloved characters of past books, this shows how two people can support each other during the most difficult of times.
Ms. Salonen has created a scenario of a mother devoted to her son; a son with Asperger's, an autism spectrum disorder. He is an amazing, smart young boy and we are privileged to have chapters in his POV. It is one thing to have authors talk about children... to frame them so we see what they do or think... but to handle a sensitive subject such as this... giving us the ability to understand and experience how he feels about the things we are seeing from our own perspective and those of the characters around him... that is important and should be acknowledged. Thank you.
The blurb gives the premise... our gal, divorced has come back to Marietta for a number of reasons... and although she may have decided not to pursue her original intentions... things happen which have huge ramifications. She loves it in Marietta; has a small circle of friends and now with a new boss, a hope for a better workplace. She is more than capable at her job... and was asked to apply for the head position....but she knew her son would always come first.
Our new fella at the Search and Rescue has his own reasons for being there. His brother found his life and love in Marietta. Their father would bring them to the land he owned every summer causing the brothers to have deeply treasured memories of those times. It is the need for a new and different environment which causes him to come to Marietta... he is still tortured with nightmares from the last fire and rescue attempt. All of his friends and family think a change of venue will be the remedy he needs.
These two people meet and an undercurrent happens right away... much to the chagrin of both; he, because the last time he fell for a coworker it was a huge disaster...she because she would never be with her boss and she needs to focus on her son.
We watch and enjoy the plotting of this finely crafted story... there is chemistry, caring, and concern with these characters. We also are introduced to upcoming players for us to ponder... a firefighter who was also sexy troop dancer...and another fella... more of a lone wolf type...We also have past characters from the Marietta Montana series to catch up with. A very enjoyable read.

When Flynn Bensen moves to Marietta, Montana to be in charge of the county Search and Rescue unit, he is immediately attracted to his new employee, Kat Robinson. Flynn has already barely suffered the aftermath of becoming involved with someone he works with, and he is also struggling to deal with a rescue gone wrong in his last job. He is determined not to become involved with Kat, but he can't get her off of his mind. Kat has her own baggage, and she is no more ready for a relationship with Flynn than he is with her. Kat is the single mother of 10 year old Brady, and when he drops a bombshell on some residents of Marietta, it jeopardizes the place of mother and son in the community. Thinking she'll be leaving soon, Kat embarks on a passionate evening with Flynn. As feelings develop for one another, Flynn and Kat have to determine whether they can move beyond their pasts in order to have a future together.
I throroughly enjoyed this contemporary romance. Flynn and Kat were both very likable and their story was touching. I thought that Kat's son, Brady, added a great deal to the story. The setting and background were colorful and interesting, and I enjoyed the return of characters from the author's previous books. I look forward to reading more in this series. Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing a copy of this book in return for an honest review.
What a vivid & vibrant story! Salonen captured me heart and soul with this heartfelt and emotional tale of love in many forms. I love the way that she brought Montana to life, the beauty and the danger of it apparent in every scene. The way in which SAR worked in action was amazing. It was so real and life like, I could feel the intensity of the situations.
The variety of different situations that these characters had to deal with on a daily basis, bet they medical or familial or both, added a sense of poignancy and realism to the entire tale. Salonen brought each of them to life in a realistic and apparent way that also brought forth her sensitivity for the subject. I like the way that Brady was developed. His personal POV really let me see how he thinks and feels, as well as how he stands apart from what most consider ‘normal’. Surrounded by his loving mother and the ever present Flynn, who’s budding romance can’t be missed, this is an atypical familial unit that definitely drew me in.
Salonen never fails to capture me with the emotions conveyed through her novels. MONTANA HERO is no exception. If anything, this well plotted, exciting, and romantic novel stands above the rest. It’s definitely a novel that I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to those who enjoy romance.
Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.
Having not read the series of which this seems to be an offshoot, I really couldn’t care less about the cast of characters being referenced and reading about them killed the pace of this novel for me. It was going along ok and then somehow the end, which should have been a big payoff, was just everyone sitting around talking about vague grand plans that had nothing to do with the MCs of this book. Bleh.
It so good to head back to Marietta, Montana and visit with the folks from the Big Sky Mavericks series. I adore every single family in this lively town and while it may not seen that the focus is on the Zabrinski folks, they are certainly scattered throughout this newest addition to Ms. Salonen’s beloved Big Sky Mavericks series.
Katherine escaped to Marietta after her mother died from complications of Alzheimer’s disease. Knowing that both her mother and grandmother passed away from this disease, and knowing that she stands a better than average chance of contracting the disease has Katherine hesitant to ever enter into a long term relationship again. In many ways her mother’s actions while under the influence of this heartbreaking disease will haunt not only her past but her present and future as well.
Her job at Crawford County Search and Rescue gives her satisfaction and the chance to now live in the town her mother had a connection to in her past and is the location of a mystery in her own life. Her son Brady is her joy. Brady has Aspergers, and while he is an above average intelligent young boy, the school and the stability of this small town is also a reason for Katherine to make her future here. Now that the corrupt former head of the SAR is gone she has better hopes for the new man soon to arrive. Hopefully life will settle down once again.
Flynn has made the decision to accept the job as the head of the local SAR in Marietta. His brother has settled here. And after the constant nightmares of the woman he could not save from a deadly wildfire, Flynn is ready to move on. While this job will still allow him to protect and serve, as well as be available for occasional duties as a wildfire fighter, it won’t be his main focus any longer. Perhaps this move will help ease the guilt of his failure, in his eyes, of not being able to save a woman who haunts his dreams.
While Flynn is attracted to Katherine, he knows the pain of getting involved with a co-worker and has the divorce papers and the loss of his inheritance to prove how stupid that would be. Yet, Katherine and her son get under his skin and into his emotions. Time will tell if repeating a past mistake would have different results, but for now his focus is on getting his teams together and comfortable working with him.
Brady adored his grandmother. She would tell him stories of her time in Marietta. And the hints she gave him have turned his active, intelligent mind to solving a mystery. The results of his quest will forever change lives in this small town.
Montana Hero is the first story of another group of folks heading for Marietta, Montana. As always there are several threads to past couples and future possibilities in any novel set in this amazing small town. And we will find those threads that should weave through upcoming novels in this one. So while it might seem that there is story building that isn’t played out in this story, keep in mind that Montana Rogue, – Montana Miracle – Montana Rebel are additional stories that will be coming our way over the next few months. That I am really looking forward to.
So, back to Montana Hero. :) I enjoyed Katherine and Flynn’s story so much. They both have pain and betrayal in their pasts. Now they are fighting the attraction between them. Of course, the journey to true love rarely runs smoothly and it’s no different for this couple. I found their hesitations to be honest and believable. Yes, there is no doubt that these two can burn up the sheets, but sex is secondary to the overall life that they could build together – if they are brave enough. Flynn’s acceptance of Brady’s specialness is touching and, in my opinion, the way a real man would act. Once again, Ms Salonen delivers a fantastic, realistic story with characters who become family and friends in just a few chapters. You cannot go wrong when visiting Marietta – in fact, I wouldn’t mind moving there myself.
*I received an e-ARC of Montana Hero from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. That does not change what I think of this novel.*
Ah, it’s so nice to be back in Marietta again, but especially back with the Big Sky Mavericks bunch. Although this book isn’t technically about the Zabrinskis, they’re certainly around and making themselves known – not least because Flynn’s younger brother, Ryker ( Montana Darling), is about to marry into the family.
I like Flynn. He’s friendly and hard working and haunted by the rescue that went wrong. He’s also carrying a few emotional wounds from the failure of his marriage. He’s come to Marietta to make a fresh start and hopefully find peace from his nightmares. What he finds instead is Kat, a woman he can’t help being drawn to even though he’s sworn off workplace relationships. I really liked the way he sees Kat, how he calls her Katherine and makes time for her son as well as her, even when he’s trying to fight his attraction. I also really loved his relationship with his two best friends. They’re quite the dynamic trio, heroes at heart, but with very different outlooks on life.
As for Kat, she’s great. She and Flynn click right from the start, having similar goals at work and ideas for the future. I absolutely loved her relationship with Brady, her young son who is borderline autistic. She’s positive and understanding and Brady’s own portrayal is wonderfully done. He’s super smart, but at ten doesn’t always think things through – and not only because he’s not great at interacting with other people. I loved how Kat helps him to manage that, without taking over. Added to all of this are secrets from Kat’s past and her own family history of Alzheimer’s, both of which only add to the strength and struggle of her history and future.
However, I can’t help feeling that with so much going on in this book some other things were quietly pushed aside or ignored altogether. Flynn’s nightmares, for example, didn’t play as large a part as I expected, while the shady doings of his predecessor at Search and Rescue faded into the background. I also expected more to come of Janet’s antagonist approach. I can see why these things were quietly pushed aside, because everything else definitely takes over and there wouldn’t have been room for them, but there was so much early effort put into building them up that I felt they weren’t given the resolutions they maybe deserved.
So the plot does feel a little mixed at times, but the romance is lovely right from the start. These two make such a great team and I loved how they drew each other into their worlds, sharing friends on one side and family experiences on the other. This book also neatly sets up where the Big Sky Maverick series is headed next, now that the Zabrinskis are all paired off, leaving plenty of fodder for the future. Enjoyable and easy with a bit of excitement and a touch of emotional turmoil, I really enjoyed reading this and can’t wait to see which of Flynn’s friends is up next.
(I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.)
It is lovely to meet up with familiar characters in this series again! The story is well written, with plenty of action, drama and turmoil as well as emotional upheaval to keep the reader entertained throughout. The characters both need to learn to move forward despite their fears for the future and their journey to reach their HEA is a fantastic read and a great addition to the series. It also leaves more characters to find their own HEA in future novels and I’ll certainly be looking out for them being published, too!
After the death of her Mom who suffered from early onset Alzheimers and a series of traumatic events, Katherine (Kat) Robinson took a chance by moving to Marietta, Montana with her much loved ten year old son, Brady, who has Aspergers. This is the place Kat’s Mom had very happy memories of and where Kat was conceived. She doesn’t know who her father is, her Mom wouldn’t tell her anything except he was already married. She’s been working as part of the Crawford County Search and Rescue team for a year and is delighted that her old boss has gone but is wary of the new guy because she knows, if the timing had been different, it is a job she’d have gone for.
Flynn Bensen is moving to Marietta after his last wildfire rescue attempt failed to save an elderly women. He’s been having recurrent nightmares about it ever since and feels guilty though everyone else says his efforts were heroic. Now he’s taken the new job and takes in donuts on his first day with the team, bumping into one of them and nearly dropping the donuts in the process! What an introduction for Flynn and Kat. The attraction between them is instantaneous and highly volatile but he’s determined never to have a relationship with a co-worker and she’s focussed on looking after Brady. Will they be able to keep resisting? When Brady decides to confront his possible grandfather and do a disappearing act, life is going to get hectic for the two adults. Will she recognise Flynn as the hero she needs and loves or will her head rule her heart?
Thanks to the authors, publisher and NetGalley, too for letting me read an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This book was received free via Netgalley for an honest review. My review is below.
I'm going to lead off with my biggest issue with this book. Odd, I know, but it still annoys me and it colored both my expectations of the book and my reactions to it. The Big Sky Mavericks series is about the Zabrinski kids. Only one (non-Tule published) novella at the end of the series didn't fit the mold. The Big Sky Mavericks are a construct of the Zabrinski kids - a moniker they gave themselves (minus Paul, poor kid). Now, the series is opened up (this is Ryker's brother's book) and with more non-related characters coming in, it feels like we really ought to have a new series name, not just use this one. Reasoning for it is given as part of the book itself, but I just struggle with it.
Flynn Benson is Ryker's brother (Ryker from Montana Darling, the novelette in this series that was ok). He's got some serious issues - primarily PTSD-like symptoms from his last firefighting mission. Thank goodness for his best buds who manage to get him out of his mess enough to switch jobs and move - right into Marietta. And right into the arms of Kat Robinson, single mother, employee, and secret-hider.
Kat is in Marietta for a couple reasons, but primarily to find her birth father. But, having met the family, she doesn't want to mess things up with them, so she doesn't say anything. Besides, she's got a lot on her plate. Work hasn't been that great, her son is on the autism spectrum, and now Flynn is driving her wild.
It's a match made in heaven because erotic dreams of Kat have replaced Flynn's PTSD nightmares and Flynn's kindness and sexuality are getting Kat all hot and bothered. At least, that is, until Brady spills the beans about Kat's parentage and opens a whole town of worms. The book goes a little off the rails at that point, but it does showcase some of Flynn's skills and does telegraph the next book in the series and it helps explain why the Big Sky Mavericks series is being expanded.
An aside, I do like how this book ties in with and follows up on events in Montana Maverick.
Montana Hero by Debra Salonen During Flynn Bensen‘s last wildfire rescue, a woman died despite Flynn’s best efforts to save her.
Will Flynn be the hero Kat needs to help her find the courage to fall in love again? how did Flynn and Kat meet ? who is your favorite character in this story? And why? Will Flynn be the hero Kat needs to help her find the courage to fall in love again? will Flynn and Kat be more than friends? how many books in the Big Sky Mavericks series? what are Flynn’s pals names? why did Flynn come to Marietta? Was finding a daddy to replace her dead mother the underlying reason for Kat’s move to Marietta? do you like the cover for Montana Hero by Debra Salonen? Montana Hero by Debra Salonen is a 4 stars book. I highly recommend reading Montana Hero by Debra Salonen. I got a free advanced reading copy in exchange for an honest review. I am looking forward to reading more books by Debra Salonen. The Big Sky Maverick series Montana Cowgirl Big Marietta Fair Big Sky Mavericks
I really liked the believability of the plot and characters that Debra Salonen writes about in Montana Hero.
For different reasons, Flynn and Kat both come to Marietta, Montana for a fresh start. Despite being co-workers, and Flynn the boss, they are both intrigued and attracted. Flynn is fighting demons from his past and Kat is looking to quiet the past to move to the future. Neither is looking for a relationship, but sometimes love happens when you least expect it. With unexpected happenings and all the issues they are facing, a future together might not be in the cards for them, no matter how hot the chemistry or strong the connection they have.
Both of these characters are cautious regarding relationships, and they are both facing issues that can happen in real life too. Kat has a lot going with her own history and her sons needs. I really liked her and how she dealt with things. Debra brings a great perspective on what Kat and her son are going through, and I really liked the glimpses of him and his thoughts she gave in Montana Hero. I really liked Flynn too. Reading from both of their perspectives really strengthened my understanding of them. I liked the back story that is presented through Montana Hero, I felt like it really helped define the characters.
There is a lot going on in Montana Hero, just like in real life, and I felt this gave the plot extra depth. I liked how everything was woven together. Debra manages to evoke a variety of emotions that really brought all of the characters to life and they went through a lot of growth in this story. I liked the unknowns that are part of the plot and the work up to the conclusion...which I really enjoyed!
Montana Hero has a good pace to it that kept me interested and wanting to know more. All about all kinds of relationship, trust, and how the burden of the past impacts the future, I'd recommend Montana Hero to any romance reader!
Kat has been in Montana a year she is "reconnecting" with a place her mom fell in love with before Kat was even boon. Her son is once again struggling and Kat is not sure is this is really the place for him and her to stay. She also has question as is this new boss of hers is fit to work with especially since her loss boss was such a "winner" to work with. She is starting to wonder if she made the right choice not taking the job as the boss. Flynn is a fire hot shot who has been dealing with a loss of a victim he can not seem to get the nightmares to stop. He knows things to need to change and he is ready for the change when he takes the job as a SAR commander in Montana. He is surprised to see that his new team is not so happy for the change and he's is ready to deal with some hard heads, head on. When both Flynn and Kat are forced together to help someone they start see that maybe things are as bad as it seems or they? I had a blast reading this book, it was such a sweet love story. I love books that seem like the story could be taken from real life and not just a blown out story that seems so unrealistic, this book is just that a story that you feel your just catching up with friends. The chemistry in the book is there but its not what makes the book, the storyline is well written and has you drawn in and you find yourself having a hard time putting the book down. I can not wait for more from this author or more about the Montana Maverick group. This book is easily a 4 1/2 starts. You really can not go wrong with buying this book or the others in the series.
Disclosure: I received this book free of charge from the publisher, but this review consists of my honest opinions, not influenced in any way by the author or publisher
In Montana Hero, Debra Salonen has found a way to bring the reader back to Marietta and bring back the Big Sky Mavericks. Flynn Bensen needed a change of scenery after, and, when his brother Ryker convinced him to take a job in Marietta, he had the perfect opportunity to make the move and try something little different. Single Mom Kat Robinson brought her son to Marietta hoping to find out why it was where her Mom was happiest and see if it was the place for her. The attraction between the two is instantaneous, but since Flynn is Kat's boss, they both have reasons for resisting. As things heat up, secrets come out, and Kat has to decide if Marietta is someplace she can stay and if Flynn is the man for her. These two were such fun characters. These were two realistic characters searching for their place. Salonen did a wonderful job of developing them and their story, making the reader feel that they were people that could be found anywhere. Throw in Kat's son Brady, and the Zabrinski clan, and you have an amazing cast of characters. I love that she was able to bring us back into her Big Sky Mavericks series, introducing new characters that fit right in. Even if you haven't read any of the other stories, you won't be lost reading this one. I really enjoyed the story and was excited at the chance to revisit past characters. Salonen has a style that pulls you in and keeps you so involved in the story that you don't realize you aren't actually a part of the story until you hit the last word.
**I received an Advanced Reader's Copy from the Publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Flynn Benson had no idea moving to Montana would change his life so much. All he wanted was a change of scenery and a chance to forget the woman he couldn’t save from a wildfire. Heading Crawford County Search & Rescue would be the perfect position for him. He could still be involved with what he loves, but with a change of scenery.
Flynn had given up on women after his last marriage. He just didn’t trust them anymore. That was until he met one of his employees, Katherine Kat” Robinson. She would be worth taking a chance on. But he knew not to get involved with an employee.
Kat is a single mother raising her son Brady on her own. Kat decided to move to Marietta because before her mother died, she said it was the only place where she was happy. Maybe Kat would be happy there too. Plus it might give her a chance to figure out who her father is.
Kat is instantly attracted to Flynn, but knows workplace romances don’t work out. Will Kat and Flynn be able to keep it business only or will they give into their feelings?
There is a lot more to this story than I can tell without giving it all away. One part had me biting my nails in anticipation of what would happen. The chemistry was really strong between the lead characters too. I also enjoyed catching up with some of the characters from previous Big Sky Mavericks Books.
Kat Robinson moved to Marietta, Montana with her ten year old after the death of her mom who was suffering for Alzheimer. Her priority is her son as she has no time for distractions even though she found a possible clue that her dad that she never met lived in the same town but was married at the time.
Flynn Bensen still suffers from a nightmare where an elderly he rescued from a wildfire died. He comes to Marietta looking for a fresh chance and his brother is getting married to a local girl. Flynn finds himself instantly attracted to his new co-worker Kat but he is weary of a work place relationship since his last relationship was one and it did not end up well since she used him until a richer guy came along.
Along the way, they try to keep their distance but forces keep throwing them together as Flynn starts to worm his way into Kat and her son’s lives. Can these two people who been hurt find love together and become a family even as Kat fears she’ll end up like her mother and grandmother who both suffered from Alzheimer.
Nice story of learning to move forward despite the fears of the future
What a great addition to the Big Sky Mavericks. The story of Flynn and Kat, both fighting their own demons but trying to make a fresh start in Marietta, Montana. Flynn has taken on the new job as the head of Crawford County Search and Rescue where Kat has worked for the last few years. Kat is a single mom, raising Brady who has Aspberger's. They both have trust issues from previous relationships, but the chemistry between these two are hot. Kat is also concerned with the history of Alzheimers in her family, and does not want to burden anyone else with the illness. A great saying, Us. As in the two of us creating memories that will last a lifetime.
This is a well written book, with topics that affect many families. Plenty of drama in the story, love how it was all handled. I love this series, excited for more to come.
I received this book from netgalley for an honest review.
This book is part of the Big Sky Mavericks series, they are all real good but yet can be read as stand alone. I love Flynn as the hero, he was so caring and conscientious. Katherines character was so easy to get to know and care about but her son Brady was the one that really stole my heart, he is a ten year old boy with Asperger's and we get to hear how he thinks and feel how he feels first person, I love how the author wrote from his point of view and let us into his world. It was one of those books I hated to put down, I would have loved to have locked out the real world and just kept reading. But alas I had to fix supper clean up etc and all the while the book was just calling to me. They really should have half star ratings so this could be four and a half. I loved it , so close to a full out five star.
A great addition to the Big Sky Mavericks Series. Both Flynn and Katherine have pasts that need to be healed and overcome. Kat, a young Mom of a child with Aspberger's and Flynn issues with PTSD from a Forest Fire where he blames himself for the death of an older woman he could not save. Flynn has left the fire service to become the head of the SAR Unit in Marietta. Kat, works in the SAR office has moved there after her divorce from her son Brady's father and her mother who has died. Marietta may also have the answer to questions about her birth father. Heartwarming and Heartwrenching this book grabs hold of your heart as Flynn and Kat work through the challenges and issues of trust.
I received an ARC from the Publisher and NetGalley for an honest review.
Excellent addition to the Big Sky Mavericks! This is a wonderfully written story of two people trying to put their pasts behind them and find a brighter future. Kat Robinson came to Marietta to give her and her son Brady a fresh start. And maybe, just maybe, to find out a little more about her mother's past. Flynn Bensen came to Marietta to get past the memories of a recent rescue gone bad. When he meets Kat Robinson on his first day he can't help but wonder exactly what he's gotten himself in to. The attraction between them is scorching, but being her boss makes her strictly hands off!! Right??
I loved this story and would recommend to everyone!
I enjoyed this newest addition to the series. Being back in Marietta, feels comfortable and this book felt like a letter from a dear friend there. I got updates on how everyone else is doing, since their books and another piece of the "family" puzzle was added with Flynn, Brady and Katherine. Katherine and Brady moved from Texas for a new start and to find answers to her Moms past. Flynn needed a change of scenery and a different job. Both got the changes they wanted and then a little extra.

I always anticipate works by Debra as they are so well written and capture my heart and imagination. Montana Hero is another great read by her. The story has touching characters, Flynn Benson and Katherine Robinson, that are struggling with personal issues in their lives. The portrayal of Katherine's autistic son, Brady, is treated with exceptional taste and respect with realistic touches to the emotions and situations.
Kat Robinson has moved to Marietta with her ten year old son after loosing her mom to Alzheimer's. Flynn Benson has taken a new job in Marietta after an incident at his previous job. The two meet on Flynn's first day on the job and try to hide there attraction to one another. I really enjoyed this story and seeing the characters develop enough to learn and grow from there past.
Read/reviewed for Tule and author for a honest opinion
Another great story in the Big Sky Mavericks series. I hope we see more books in this series. Great character development and dialogue that just pulled me in. I'm looking forward reading more of these books and more by this author.
Debra Solonen is a go to author who never disappoints!
Former Hot Shot Firefighter retires to Montana to lead a Search and Rescue team! Kat works for Flynn and they both feel the Sparks fly! Of course neither have the inclination, nor desire to find love! Fortunately Debra Salonen has plans for them, but not without the usual soul searching and denial! The melodrama unfolds, a scandal ensues and Kat's son attempts to bridge the fascade! Great romance, great suspense, lots of out loud sobbing and ecstatic stirrings! An enjoyable read with awesome characters, a delightful diversion from the family and friends! Heartwarming, sexy and the usual frustrations with clueless lovers! A heartwarming distraction from reality! Brady is the bomb! So cute and tough and a little kids are always engaging! A fun, satisfying read!
Another book where someone has Alzheimers. And the poor effing woman started with it in her early forties. God give me strength. I was looking for a fluffy fireman romance, not an Early Alzheimer’s account.
Alzheimer's is not 'romantic' Its not curable. Its horrendous and vile and I do wonder how many of these 'romance' authors who gaily add someone suffering from Alzheimers to their story in the idea that it is somehow 'sweet' have ever actually watched a member of their family die from it.
What a great book. Could not put it down it was so good.Everyone should know how to help keep others safe as well as themselves. Accidents happen all the time and just knowing small things can save a life.Trying to find your biological parent can be very hard, but it is not impossible anymore. Large families are great as long as everyone can get along. This was a great arc to read and enjoy. Another one down Debra, just waiting for the next. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill
Flynn needed a new start, the nightmares kept coming, his brother sent him a link for a job with the SAR in Marietta where he is living. His friends from the Hot Shot team where going to join him in different ways. Kat and her son Brady moved to Marietta after her mom died, she said she was happiest there. But in part Kat found out her dad was from there. When Flynn starts, Kat impresses him and her son Brady is a good kid. They have to see where it goes.
Kat and Flynn tried to deny their attraction to each other when they first meet. These two have a lot in common. Kat has a son that she loves to death and won't put anything before him. Flynn understands and realizes that he really likes Kat's son and wants to spend more time with them. This was such a good book! Kat and Flynn are both really good people and they help each other and others. Will definitely read more by Debra!!
What a great story. Kat and Flynn's story is wonderful. It is so timely bringing together very important issues that weigh in many families lives. I loved how they shared feelings about a families struggle with Alzheimer's and autism. Kat and Flynn find amazing strength and try to take the chance on love and happiness. I really enjoyed their story and can't wait to read more! Enjoy!
