It was OK. I mostly picked it up because I'm also writing a book set on a ranch in the Rockies. So I'm reading a few to get a better feel for them. Not that I count this as sufficient "research." Market research, not ranching research. The characters and the plot were mostly cliche. I did like the deaf brother aspect - brought something fresh to an otherwise formulaic plot.
