oh wow i loved these two so much! this was so sweet, and i couldn’t stop smiling. it reminded me of those wattpad stories where the FMC ends up with the lead singer. completely unrealistic but you secretly wish it was happening to you anyway 😂 if only this was longer!

okay this one was also really cute!! i will say that this one definitely needed to be longer just so i could feel like their connection was really real. obviously it's a novella, so they're going to get together pretty fast, but i just feel like i needed a little more to really feel their love! but overall, i had such a fun time reading this 🤭💕

This is a story that just makes you feel good!!! The characters are lovable, the banter is amusing (downright hilarious at times), and the chemistry and physical attraction are palpable. The writing is very comfortable … the type of adventure you can easily lose yourself in. And I finished it with a smile. 4.5 stars! This novella was definitely my favorite. It kept me guessing what would happen next every second, and that's what really hooked me. The author did a great job of immersing the reader in the atmosphere. Even if it's not a Christmas one.

This is a very cute and very well-done short story.

I really liked the characters and thought the plot fit perfectly within the page count.

It is a bit predictable, in a tropey romance kind of way, and does require you to suspend your disbelief a little bit. But as the author's note describes, it's a fun time and you really should just enjoy the ride.

This is a short novella about Fizzy, an ER nurse, who last-minute stands in as the love-interest for a music video for her best friend who is producing it. She happened to be out drinking when asked, so rockstar Silas ends up caring for her before the filming.

This was my first time reading something by Sarah Adams, and I’ll be looking into her backlist after this. The romance was sweet and written in a believable way even with so few pages (~50) to develop it. While I don’t typically seek out romances with a lighter tone, I found this to be an enjoyable palette cleanser between novels. Adams shows us the progression of the characters’ interest in each other through subtle touches and microexpressions over the course of the evening that they spend together.

It was also interesting to see the behind-the-scenes of the filming of a music video, which felt very realistic. The author worked in HMUA in commercial filming, and her spouse is a director of photography in film, so their experiences were definitely felt in the details of the story. The details had specificity and gave texture to the story.

We get a HFN ending, which felt satisfying and was perfect for a story of this length. I appreciated that the story didn’t try to force greater feelings than what could be realistically expected in the short time the characters spent together.

I don't know how she does it, but Sarah Adams managed to pack the exact magic and warmth of all her novels into just five chapters. And that, to me, says all you need to know about her work, truly.

In such a short amount of pages, she managed to bring to life such great characters, with incredible chemistry and amazing banter. Sure, it is a little unrealistic at points, but it is a necessity given how short it is, and it still manages to do exactly what it sets out to. What more could a girl ask for?

Honestly, I could have read a full novel about them. I absolutely loved this one, I devoured it in under an hour and I was smiling the entire time. Just so so good.

Felicity has to be on the set for a music video shoot with the superstar, Silas. She'd never been drunk but this time. Even after getting off the long shift as a nurse and being drunk altogether, the show must go on. And being with a nice handsome guy is undeniably pleasant.

I really really love this book. This novella was definitely one of my favourites. And even though it's just the novella, I think the story wraps around everything the romance story needs. The story was also very hooked and made me fully immersed into its world. I really couldn't put it down.

Oh. my. god. This one was so so so cute! I loved that it had the Christmas vibes, without actually being set during Christmas. The chemistry between the two main characters was great, they immediately hit it off and I just couldn't wait to see what would happen between them.

This was perfectly fine! I’m sure others will enjoy it.

Drinking her feelings away after a tough day as an ER nurse, Felicity unexpectedly finds herself filling in as the leading lady of a holiday music video. This is a weird complaint, but drunk characters always come across as obnoxious to me rather than endearingly adorable, so I didn't love the meet-cute.

But the eventual romance itself was sweet. And Silas was great. I found it a little farfetched, though, that he would be so trusting of a complete stranger with his personal life almost immediately. But listen, I get it. It’s a novella, and there’s only so much time to develop that connection.

Also, I wouldn't call this a holiday romance. The only thing it had was fake snow.

I love Sarah Adams so much so it truly pains me that this was only fine for me. Short stories and novellas can be so hard to write I’m sure because you’re trying to make a believable love story in an extremely short amount of time. The author’s note at the front says to suspend belief for this one, and I think you truly have to in order to appreciate this story. And that was something that was hard for me. Silas and Fizzy were fun, but because this is a short story, I was just left wanting more from them. It’s a quick easy short story and I had a nice time but it just didn’t hit as hard as I would have liked.

Also this is not a Christmas story. The MCs are shooting a music video for a Christmas song but anything Christmasy isn’t even mentioned other than a brief scene in fake snow.

My Thoughts:
I think I'm a bit judgy towards Sarah Adams ever since reading Practice Makes Perfect, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. I think 3 stars is fair considering I was reading this with a very judgy attitude.
I know she puts a disclaimer in the beginning about suspending disbelief, but I still found myself thinking this whole scenario was too far-fetched. I also didn't love that the FMC is drunk in the beginning and left in a locked room with a celebrity who could have easily taken advantage of her. I did think that if this was fleshed out more, it could have worked better. The MMC seemed like a good guy who could have made it work with someone not in show business.

This was a sweet, fun and veeery quick read. Fizzy and Silas were both very likeable and their chemistry was great from the very first moment. Drunk Fizzy was also a great idea and definitely added to the fun.

It is, of course, a very short story and I would have loved to read a little epilogue to see more of them. The story is definitely a bit unrealistic, but that’s also what we signed up for going into it.

I also wish there had been a little more of a Christmas vibe, as I would have loved to feel more of that festive atmosphere.

Overall, this was a cute and enjoyable little read!

Felicity dropped everything to help her best friend do a music video shoot with pop-star, Silas. Sparks fly, and they instantly bonded and decided to date.

This book felt like a beginning of Hallmark movie. Like the characters' meet-cute story.

The book got the usual Sarah Adams charm and humor which made it all cute. It doesn't really gave off Christmas vibes since it's basically spans just a night.

It's a celebrity romance which is not my go-to or usual fave trope but since it's a novella, it was just eh.

But like I said, this story felt incomplete but overall, it was fun to take a peek behind-the-scenes of a music video.

This book was so funny. I loved drunk Fizzy, the FMC, and I really loved Silas, the MMC. The two of them made for a great read! But my problem is, where was the Christmas in this Christmas novella? There wasn’t any. That was my main disappointment, along with how short it was. I would have loved to know what happened next and to read more about the two of them.

Let me start off with, I don’t normally like novellas. But this one did not disappoint. Sarah is hands down one of my favorite authors ever.

She started and ended this book so well. She left me wanting more of the story. Sarah, write a follow up!!!! I need to know what happens with Fizzy and Silas.

It was a super quick read, Maybe an hour or two? The chemistry between fizzy and Silas was immediate and when they finally kissed- I swooned so much!!!! ☺️

Please make this one a full length novel because I need more of Silas and Fizzy's romance.

If you ever had the fantasy of having a pop star (or rock star) fall for you while on set for a music video, then this one is 100% for your! I absolutely devoured this one and am so sad that it was only 49 pages!

I've really enjoyed other books by Sarah Adams, and this one is a perfect quick addition to this holiday novella collection!

I did enjoy this short story, I mainly liked the main male character. As for the female character I liked the tiniest bits of depth we got through her job being an ER nurse.

But I do have to say I was expecting more winter-y vibes or even a festive setting, the most we got was fake snow and the mention of a Christmas song in the making.

I would say its worth reading as its quite short but it was one of my least favourite out of all of them.

This was SO CUTE!!

This follows Felicity, who’s an ER nurse, as she has to join an ex boy band pop star who’s going solo for a holiday music video.

Silas Ford…. He’s got glasses, he loves to read, and he has dimples?! What more could you want?! I absolutely loved him.

I loved Felicity’s friendship with her best friend! It felt authentic in the best possible way.

The humor in this was definitely my kind of humor. I was laughing out loud and giggling so much.

So go pick this novella up if you want something cute and easy to fall in love with!
