*** STANDALONE NOVEL with a happy ever after ending and NO cliffhanger. ***

For journalist Ada Hastings, it's supposed to be a lazy two-week summer break on the Coromandel Peninsula in New Zealand. No deadlines, no complications, no men; in fact, nothing riskier than a hangover. But a casual walk in the bush takes her holiday from carefree to chilling when she discovers a bear bathing under a waterfall—a frightening impossibility in a country that has no bears at all outside of zoos.

Ranger Sachs-Severin combines his high-flying life as a hedge fund manager with covert missions for Bear Force, a group of shapeshifters fighting bear abuse. The waterfall at his remote coastal property is the last place he expects to see anyone, so he’s stunned when his bear insists the tall, curvy woman who has literally fainted at his feet is their mate.

Ranger must convince a shocked Ada that bear shifters are real—and nothing to be alarmed about. The scorching chemistry between them is undeniable, however, igniting Ada’s senses and forcing Ranger to believe that fated mates do exist.

But they aren’t prepared for the way her past collides with his present, and Ranger is devastated to discover that a mission he must accept means risking losing Ada forever.

READER BEWARE: This story contains hot sweaty sex, fated mates, dirty talk, and the occasional sneaky swear word. She’s tall, curvy, and not to be messed with. He’s a swoon-worthy New Zealand-born, European royal bloodline bear shifter. Together, they’re dynamite.

“Now that we’ve got the wardrobe malfunction sorted, Ranger Sachs-Severin, land owner. Pleased to meet you.”
“Ada Hastings, trespasser.”

This was an oo-kay read for me. I was invested with the story but there are some that miss the mark for this story of what I love with shifter romance. That is I didn’t feel the all-consuming I will go crazy with what I feel. Ranger is an alpha but not The Alpha and there’s a big difference of that for me.

This a fast paced read which is what perfect for what I was looking for me but it was too fast paced for me considering on the first day they’ve met, Ranger already divulged his secret of being a shifter to Ada, and to think Ada didn’t freak out, seriously?, is kinda insane. There’s a big difference between knowing there is a possibility and knowing it is actually a fact staring right at you.

I was also expecting some action, as Ranger being a member of Bear Forced Ops, and operation that saves bear that are captured in the wild, when it takes long for the government to step in. There was actually that, but I was expecting fights and bloody mess, hell even torture, and I was sorry there was none.

Also, the location being so described vividly and exactly being as picturesque as it is was an issue for me. Specific trees were pointed out and I couldn’t care less. Hello, googling this trees and stuff I don’t know kinda irritates me a bit. It held me back to imagine the lovely forest and the island. Being vivid with descriptions isn’t bad but I wanted something left for my imagination to recreate and explore on its own.

Typical shifter romance with lilies and chocolates, they were so sweet. With so much issues for me, it didn’t detract me from enjoying the novel since this issues didn’t gnaw at the back of my head while reading. And there was this scene I’ve love where Ada finally stood up for herself and acted like a bitch, she was so mean I love it. Yeah, I know.

And this story didn’t annoy or stir a very intense feeling or hit some peeves for me to give it a rating below of what I gave.

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion and a review.

When I was offered the chance to read this book I jumped at it I love BBW books especially sexy shifter ones. Eve Hunter is a delightful new writer and she brings us one heck of a sexy book, I just fell in love with her style of writing and how she brings forth a tale of true love.

Ada Hastings is a journalist, and she is supposed to be having a lazy two-week summer vacation on the Coromandel Peninsula in New Zealand. She has no deadlines to worry about, and zero complications... that means men as well. But a simple relaxed walk in the bush takes her carefree holiday to utterly chilling when she spots a bear happily bathing all carefree under a waterfall. Too Ada this is a frightening impossibility as New Zealand has no bears at all unless you count the zoos.

Ranger Sachs-Sever combines his busy successful life as a hedge fund manager with his covert secret missions for Bear Force, a group of shape shifters that fight any sort of bear abuse.

The waterfall is on the remote part of his property it's the very last place he would have ever expected to see anyone at all, he is so stunned even more so when his bear insists that this tall, curvaceous lady who has just literally fainted at his very feet is their mate.... they just cant believe their luck.

Now he must convince a very shocked Ada that bear shifters are really real and that it is nothing to be upset about. There sizzling chemistry that they have between them is definitely undeniable it ignites all of Ada’s senses and forces Ranger to believe that fated mates do truly exist.

However they are just not prepared for the way her very past crashes with his present, and Ranger is beyond devastated to realise that the very mission he just has to accept means that he runs the risk of losing Ada for good.

This is a delightful warm hearted shifter romance with a twist I just loved it as well as all the characters and everything in between. Eve Hunter is for sure an author to watch out for.

Ranger is a tough bear shifter who happens to be hot as hades as well as being very tough and very protective especially now he has found his human mate. I loved how Ranger had such a great sense of humour it kept me extremely amused through out and yes he has faults just like everyone but that made him even more yummier.... to me anyway lol

Ada she is a tough curvy lady she has always loved bears but never in her wildest imagination did she expect to fall in love with a bear shifter she was just wanting a nice relaxing holiday but she gets so much more. I loved Ada she has so much oomph and spunk but yet deep down she has fears and these fears keep her from seeing what is truly in front of her.

One of my favourite parts of the book was when Ranger introduces Ada to him Mum she came through as a sweetie and a type of mother in law you wish for :)

I cannot wait to see where the next book takes us I have this inkling so im crossing all my fingers and toes.

This was a pretty good story. I liked Ranger and Ada...well I liked her overall (or maybe I should say by the end) but I did have an issue or two with her. This is the first story I've read by this author and I liked it well enough I'd be willing to try more of her work in the future.

Ada is a journalist that is working her way up the career ladder. She shares a house with her 2 BFFs and is happy with her life. She has no plans on a relationship when she goes on vacation but sometimes plans change...

Ranger is the manager of a very successful hedge fund and is also a bear shifter. The hedge fund is his day job and in his off time he works with the Bear Force, a military type team that goes out and does what's needed to save bears (and bear shifters if needed) from abuse around the world.

Ada is walking along one day while on her vacation when she sees a beautiful waterfall. She's astounded to see a bear playing in the pond at the bottom of the waterfall and ends up watching it. She freaks when the bear sees her though and she ends up fainting. Ranger is the bear Ada sees and he knows right off that she's his mate. After transforming back to human, Ranger brings Ada back to consciousness and convinces her to go back to his home with him. Ada is leery of this but Ranger convinces her and it helps that his parents share the vacation home he's in so his mother will act as a buffer for them. After that, it's not too difficult to convince her to spend the day with him.

Ranger quickly makes his interest in Ada clear and she's a bit unsure about him and the mutual attraction between them but she decides to give in and trust him. Things go very well for the rest of her vacation and Ranger is even able to tell her what he is and show her his bear without her freaking out. TBH, at this point I was wondering if the whole story was going to be this angst free but of course it didn't last. Ada has issue that come from her childhood and she sees similarities between her parents' relationship and her and Ranger's relationship. She ends up making some demands and there's a split between them. They are reunited later but although they missed each other, their issues are still present and cause some further problems between them. Thankfully, Ada eventually realizes she was wrong in her issues/demands and her and Ranger are able to fix things between them and start their HEA together.

This was a pretty enjoyable story. Ada was a good heroine outside of her past issues that caused her to be unreasonable when it came to her and Ranger's relationship. Once she worked her way past that I was perfectly fine with her. I really liked Ranger. I was a bit shocked that he let Ada go the first time but it was understandable and he did end up making an effort to change his life to please Ada and how many guys do that? (not many) The story was pretty good and I enjoyed it overall. I'd recommend it if you're ok with slightly unreasonable heroines. :)

Ranger, a bear shifter, has met his mate, Ada, a human. Because of her past she has trouble dealing with Ranger's work in Bear Force. How will they handle it?

I enjoyed this story. This sets the series up well as it builds the world these shifters inhabit. I like that we learned about bears in captivity and the reasons and hows of it as the story progressed. I liked Ranger and Ada but at times I wanted to tell Ada to quit being so whiny and listen to Ranger and I wanted Ranger to be more alpha and not let Ada walk away without listening and truly understanding what he was saying. I did like that Ada finally did some research herself then began to turn her thinking around. It made the last scene very believable.

This is a good story and sets up future stories that I look forward to reading as I revisit this bear shifter world.

Meh

It took me so long to finish this book. There was nothing that made me want to come back other than my hate of letting things go unfinished.

The story was sex and insta love.

Sexy, werebear male turns and sees his mate and they live happily ever after! Oh wait! Rewind! There’s more to the story, oh baby is there!

What was a bear doing at a waterfall in New Zealand? Ada Hastings wakes up after a tumble down a trail right in front of said bear…who starts talking to Ada like it’s an everyday occurrence. The next she knows she talking to a sexy, gorgeous naked MAN! Ranger Sachs-Severin rescues Ada from a dangerous bear and so the story begins!!

Set on New Zealand’s the Coromandel Peninsula, Eve Hunter relates a tail of steamy romance, intrigue, and just enough he-said, she-said to make it interesting! Ranger’s family is a wealthy, old were-bear clan from Europe who settled in New Zealand. Ranger works for Bear Force, a special-forces type operation out to save bear-shifters everywhere from abuse, trafficking and savagery. Ada is a journalist from a widely known periodical, In-Depth Magazine. Ada is on vacation from her job, men and civilization. She came from a police family, her Father being Special Tactics, or SWAT, had been killed in the line of duty. Her mother had never handled his job, becoming an alcoholic, dying of liver cancer. Ada feels betrayed, broken and feels the need to get away from Ranger her mate, when he needs to go off on a Bear Force mission. Ada loves Ranger yet feels she can’t take his job thinking what happened to her Mom would happen to her.

This tale sets the background for the Bear Force series. Bear Trapped is the first of a planned series about different Bear Force member’s finding love and mates amid life and its many obstacles. The story flows fairly well but there are some spots that could be smoother. I am not from New Zealand but Eve does a good job of setting the scene for those of us not familiar with the area. All in all a good beginning for an interesting series, I look forward to the next installment!

I was given this copy for a fair and honest review!

I was excited to read this book because it was my first bear shifter story. I have to say I loved the bear shifter part. I was kind of torn on what rating to give this, a three star or four and decided to go with a four. I feel like the up coming story, or what I think and hope is the up coming story, of his brother and Jessa will be even better. I wanted to choke the Heroine's neck during pretty much this whole book. Of course she had been traumatized because of her parents relationship being the way it was. Her dad had a dangerous job in special ops a lot like the Hero's job in this book. And her Mom was so afraid of him being killed that the fear ruled her life. So Ada is afraid to even take a chance with Ranger unless he agrees to quit his job. She thinks if he doesn't then he loves it more than her. Maybe it's just me because I was married to a cop for so long so I want to say, "suck it up!" We can't really choose who we fall in love with, especially fated mates. But it is a scary and lonely feeling not to know what's going on or if they're ok. I really liked Ranger. I wish he would have been just a little more alpha during the times she was leaving but I'm glad he wasn't too alpha like we see in some books. Ada was such a selfish person. I'm glad that she finally saw the light. I loved how this book ended. How they can work together. I can't wait to read the next book to see how that works out. And I love her friends. I think the next book is going to be even better. The best part of the book was how awareness was brought to illegal practices on the Bears. And the help they did for them

Typical Erotica..... Not worth it.

I really don't know why I read this book... there was nothing captivating about it. The characters were flat, the plot was cheesy and nonsensical... Bear Force Ops? It reminded me of that reality show where people go in their small boats to "save the whales" but nothing exciting ever happens, in here or the show. There is no climax. I'm confused on how big this girl is, Ada. She is tall, and she can fill up a bear costume, but she can see Ranger when he's down on her. So is she just a little overweight, and she just has bad self esteem and really hateful enemies, or is she really a big woman with magically folding rolls? I was once a big woman (I've been pregnant 3 times), where I am heavy now, I am not big any more. I know the differences in weight and limitations, so it's unrealistic to me.

The bonded mate thing was fine, but the characters are dumb. Arkansas a spoiled, selfish pushover. Ranger was a stupid, promise-breaking control freak.

Also this is an erotica. It is not listed as an erotica, but it is one. Like most erotica garbage (I don't like erotica at all obviously), this one has a storyline wrapped around sex (like soft core pornos that come on late night HBO, but very descriptive), where romance novels have a storyline with one or two sexual encounters.

Basically, it's not my thing, and I don't know why I read it. I skipped through some sex scenes, and it still wasn't worth my time.

Book Review – Bear Trapped –

This is the first book in the Bear Force series and ends in an HEA.

This book is a typical shifter romance. Ranger is a shifter, alpha male who finds his mate, Ada. Ada is a young, non-shifter journalist. The sex scenes were very erotic, but the story line had some gaping holes. The story takes place in the present, a time where anything paranormal is relegated to fantasy and not reality. Ada is a journalist, not prone to believing in the unknown. Journalists need to have facts in order to prove thinks exist. When Ranger reveals that he is a bear, by saying “That bear you saw? That was me.” and Ada just accepts that declaration, the whole book loses credibility.

Ada reveals some trauma with her parents and then fights her relationship with Ranger because he will put her in a similar situation. Ada is annoying. She is constantly leaving him and then going back. The last time she leaves him, he explains he needs to save his brother. After he brings his brother home safe, Ada apologizes for not hearing him out. She did hear him out though. He explained he needed to save his brother.

I am a reviewer for Paranormal Romance and Authors that Rock. This book is appropriate for an adult audience.

I am giving this book 3 fangs. The plot holes were too hard to ignore.

A simple vacation from her work as a reporter becomes very complicated. Ada is looking for some relaxation while she explores the area and doesn't expect to run into a bear. Ranger is a bear shifter and a businessman whose family takes crimes against bears very seriously. He just got back from a mission and was not expected to run into anyone much less his mate.

There is a strong chemistry between the two immediately. He brings her home to mom and wants to waste no time in claiming her. His bear is riding him hard. Ada takes it all pretty well but has some reservations when she learns more about his other work. She has unresolved issues from her childhood that make her want to run. He will have to do some serious convincing to claim his mate.

This is a great book for those who enjoy romances with a paranormal element. It has a very steady pace and the author takes time to develop the characters and the relationship. I really appreciate that the issues between them are really explored and not rushed through. I look forward to the next story featuring his brother.

Ada is on vacation and while hiking she runs across the one thing that shouldn't be there, a bear!! While trying to get away she faints and when she come to she is greeted by a naked man, Ranger. What she soon learns is that Ranger is a bear shifter and her mate. After two weeks of paradise Ranger gets a call that will change their lives. Ranger works for an organization called Bear Force that is special forces for bears, Ada doesn't want to be with someone who puts himself in danger for others and that was what her father did and it was more important than his family so she runs. Six months later they run into each other again and the sparks are still there and after promising Ada that he was through with Bear Forces the is called back for one final mission and Ada leaves again. Will Rnger be able to get Ada back or will her fears win in the end? This is a standalone with no cliffhanger and has a HEA, but we do get a look at the next two characters who will be the focal point in the next book in this series, which is Romer, Ranger's brother and Jessa, one of Ada's best friends and her housemate.

Bear Trapped: Book1
BBW Paranomal Shape Shifter
By Eve Hunter

I received a copy in return for a honest review and this my opinion.
This is a fantastic storyline. The storyline is the first book in a series to come, it's a great start for those who love paranormal romances. The storyline has a even pace and is very charismatic, enchanting and compelling. Ms.Hunter characters are the product of luring imagination, they are fascinating and so engaging you can't stop turning the pages until the end. Their relationship is so realistic the Sparks leap off the page!! I fell in love with Ranger and his brothers. Im so excited for this series to continue. Each book is a stand alone

Ada takes a vacation from her job as a reporter and she has made a vow to herself NO MEN!! Ada is enjoying a hike when she for some runs into a bear. She tells herself no way but he's coming toward her and she pasts out. Ranger is a bear shifter and a wealth businessman, he and his brothers takes crimes against bears very seriously. He just finish a mission and decided to let his bear run and he finds his mate.

This will be a great addition to your TBR List!! A Must Read

Ada Hasting was a beautiful plus size woman. She was out enjoy her hike in a place that should not have seen any bears. Oh the surprise she must of felt when she saw a bear in the river. The journalist in her had to want to know more but the woman in her had to be freaking out just a little.

Ranger who was a handsome bear shifter was surprised to see this woman while he was playing the in the river in bear form. He knew the moment he saw her she was his mate. He had to wonder how he was going to win this beautiful curvy woman and how he was going to explain the bear shifter within.

Ada had a hard time growing up. Things that would cause issues in a relationship with a man that put his life on the line. Ranger who was part of the Bear Forces found out this was something that was going to drive them apart. He had to be shocked when Ada walked away. How can he win her back? Both their hearts are breaking with no hope in sight.

This is a great shifter book that I think you will enjoy. I am so looking forward to this book in the series.

what do you do when you're away for a few days and come across a bear boldering through the forest, jumping into a pond and having the time of his life? this in a country that supposedly doesn't have bears at all!! trying to back away she falls and the next thing she knows a handsome naked and very aroused man is standing over her, trying to make sure she is alright.
little did she know that the life she knew was about to change. the question being if she will let her past and upbringing keep leading her to make decisions her heart isn't in agreement with.
it's hard on him having to see the struggle she's facing, but pushing him away is hurting them both. the first time he let her get away, the second time he had no choice, he had to go find his brother, but she couldn't understand that.
will they find their way back to each other?

i loved this story and how they were with each other. her concerns are valid, we mostly live our lives with how we saw things as we grew up ourselves.

Also, in accordance with the rules of te reo Māori (Māori language), the plural suffix –s has not been added when a Māori word is used in a plural context.

This is a really good story. Ada was on vacation and a bear was the last thing she expected to see. Ranger was just trying to burn off some excess energy. The fact that he was in bear form shouldn't have mattered. He found his mate! They have some serious issues to overcome. There is a trama in Ada's past that may just keep her from her mate forever. Ranger cannot give up the work he is doing with Bear Force... it's just too important. His mate is just as important, but it doesn't look like he can have both. Can they find a compromise or do they just walk away from each other? You'll have to read it to find out.... This is a great start to a new series. I cannot wait to read the next one. I was given a complimentary copy for an honest review by author Eve Hunter.

Ada Hastings grew up with a father going off on dangerous missions and a mother drinking to ease the pain. She didn't want that kind of life so when she meets Ranger Sachs-Severin walks into her like she has a hard time keeping her old feeling at bay.Ranger Sachs-Severin knew the minute his bear scented her that she was his mate. Now trying to make it work with Ada was going to be a challenge. Would his work cause her to keep from becoming his or will she let her past go to embrace her future with him.

This was a very good story and I had to read it all. Great characters and situations in this and a smooth flowing story line.

This is for mature paranormal romance book readers because of sexual content.

This book captivated me from the get go. I loved the setting in New Zealand, fell in love with Ranger and how he so desperately wanted to give up something he loved with a passion for a chance with Ada. The Chemistry between them is very steamy and intense. Hated her reaction at Ranger for him wanting to help find and rescue his brother but could understand her reaction.
Hated the thought of the danger so many animals in this world are captured, used, abused and killed for ancient, unproven methods of medicinal remedies and how humans out of pure greed don't care about the repercussions of said acts and how Ada finally researched and realized the reason for Ranger being part of Bear Force.

Can't wait for the next book and looking forward to your future books

As you can tell by how long it took me to read this book, that I loved it. A friend had suggested it to me and I am so glad she did! AWESOME is about the only word that I can think of that fits this book. Very well written with humor and erotic romance! I love paranormal, fantasy and now I love shifters! I can not wait for the second and third books. This is a stand alone book, but because she wrote it so well makes me want to read more! Ranger is one sexy shifter. Makes me want to go to New Zealand so I can find me a bear! I forgot to say thank you for putting a big woman in as the lead character!

Ada goes on holiday and stumbles on a beautiful waterfall and can't believe her eyes when she sees a bear. She is totally fascinated by the sight, there are no bears in New Zealand !!!! Ranger knows from the instant his bears scents Ada she is his mate. Being a tall curvy sensual woman with issues she has trouble believing that Ranger who is tall sexy big hunk of a rich man that is well know for his work with rescuing bears would really want any thing to do with her. A wonderful raunchy adventure that is filled with exciting sexual tension as well as a interesting story line. I can't wait for the next one.

I was gifted this book as an ARC by the author for an honest review. This is the first book I have read from this author and was really impressed with her writing style. Being from Canada I was unsure of some of things she saying in the book but was still able to keep up and understand what was going on within the storyline. The book is interesting and has conflict with the main characters. This kept me enthralled from start to finish and I couldn't put the book done. I would definitely read more from this series and author. Thanks for the good read.

Well, let us start with the series name of "Bear Force" I had a bit of a chuckle over that one. I couldn't help it. Other than that the book was okay. It was a bit too happy for me. I like for there to be a build up in a relationship, it makes it more realistic. I found it rather absurd that Ada didn't laugh hysterically or call him crazy when he told her he was the bear she saw. After telling him his secret was safe she later told her friends and they seemed fine with it too! It was okay, not sure I'll pick up the next in the series, but maybe.

Wow. This is not like any other Bear shifter story I have read.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review, so here goes.
Most shifter stories all all about sex, don't get me wrong this has great sex scenes and cold shower moments, but the storyline pulls you into and is so fulfilling that the sex scenes are a delicious added bonus.
Eve Hunter did a wonderfully amazing job and getting and keeping my attention.
Looking forward to book two

Bear Trapped

I loved the story and the different slant it took on with the special operations. The couple was sweet and sexy although Ada was a tough pill to swallow at times; however, I loved how Ranger broke her down. I cannot wait to read the story about Ranger's brother Romer and his cousin. Great storyline.

OK Book

This was was your typical real quick bear shifter story. I was hoping for a little better than this. I understand that it was a very short story but get real, they meet and within a few hours they have hot sex and he tells her all about being a bear and she just accepts it. I will not add this to my read again book nor will I be getting the rest of the series.
