Getting Lucky

“Getting Lucky”
a song by Tro Gunnison

Wouldn’t care if I could. I’m up to no good.
Taking what I want instead of what I should.

I’m made of pure greed. There’s shit that I need.
The mask is off and the demon’s freed.

I’m gonna get drunk.
I’m gonna get played.
I’m gonna get rich.
I’m gonna get laid.

And I’m gonna get Lucky.

Raised in the system, Shiloh Luck’s first sixteen years have been anything but lucky. After winning The Voice, she’s finally living the dream—a record contract, talk shows, a North American tour opening for the hottest band out there.

Everything is going according to plan...until their frontman, Tro Gunnison, explodes her life into chaos. He’s shallow, self-centered, completely infuriating, and he’ll do anything for notoriety.

Including her.

Like it or not, she’s stuck with him for two months on the road, but the longer they spend together, the more she begins to realize there’s more to Tro than anyone has ever dug deep enough to find. If his attention is anything other than just another publicity gimmick, she might let herself see where it leads. But before she can risk everything, she has to be sure.

If there’s one thing that Tro Gunnison has learned in the six years since he left his past in the dust, it’s that living life big, bold, and totally outrageous keeps people from seeing past the glare. He’s buried his demons beneath six feet of sex, drugs, and rock and roll, and he’s convinced no one will ever dig them up…until Lucky. She’s young, but not naive, and without even trying, she sees past the facade to the man underneath…which scares the hell out of him. Because what started out as smoke and mirrors has somehow turned real, and for the first time in his life, there’s someone he cares about more than himself. But it turns out getting Lucky could be a double-edged sword.

He’s always been sure it would be his past that would bring him down, but it might turn out to be Jail Bait instead.

Shiloh Luck is the recent winner of The Voice and the opening number for Tro Gunnison and his band, Roadkill. They meet backstage on Jimmy Fallon's Show, where he thinks that she's nothing but a stage rat. Even when this proves to be wrong, he won't stop flirting with her, even when she's only 16 and he's 23 years old.

"The whole world looks at me and sees a kid. Everyone but Tro."

They will be touring together, but she doesn't fall under his charm. She's sassy and more mature than other girls and it's obvious that she has grown faster than she should. But will she be able to resist him and if so for how long will she be pretending to stay unaffected by him?

Twists and turns will bring a suspense note on this story, with a couple of bumps on the way to success, love and happiness. A rockstar romance that has a quite pleasant duo of hero/heroine, but those who are surrounding them will make you want to stab something. Maybe even the duo will make you feel like that at moments. But they were cool enough for me.

"I'm not letting Tro Gunnison turn me into some swooning groupie. I'm way the f*ck smarter than that."

I can't say I enjoyed the last chapter. I learnt though that in the released copies it will be longer and different, so keep in mind I'm judging by the ARC's epilogue.

I always enjoy Mia's books and I love how she's giving me books of forbidden love stories in every theme. Gotta love variety. I'm giving this 3 stars, not because I didn't like it, but because this was my least favorite book in her series, I'm judging this compared to her previous ones in the series, so don't think that I didn't enjoy it. I just loved the previous books much more. I still need to read Getting Hot, but getting to know the characters in this one already, I think I'm gonna like it anyway. ;)

Getting Lucky by Mia Storm is the fourth installment to the Jail Bait Series. If you have read the previous book, Getting Hot then you were given a brief introduction to Shiloh Luck, the winner of the Voice music competition show and best friend of Lilah Morgan. And in Getting Lucky, Ms. Storm takes readers on a rockstar adventure as Shiloh begins her musical career as the opening act to one of hottest rock bands, Roadkill.

#GettingLucky

Although Shiloh Luck may have only been 16 years old and a ward to the state of California, Shiloh knows what it is like to survive and live on your own. Strong, independent, and guarded Shiloh is very cautious of the people that she lets into her inner circle. As the opening act to the US tour of Roadkill, Shiloh was an instant hit. As Shiloh begins to attract and gain the attention of millions of fans with her impressive vocal skills and talent, she also catches the attention of Tro Gunnison, the lead singer of Roadkill.

“I do. I want you to fuck me the way you fuck them. Fuck me hard and then leave.”

Tro Gunnison is the bonafide rockstar with endless groupies. He is the definition of sex and rock-n-roll. Shiloh is well aware of Tro's reputation as bad boy manwhore. As much as she tries to stay away and keep her distance from him, Tro does his best to rile up the sweet and innocent Shiloh by making sexual innuendos whenever he can on tour. But as much as she tries to keep her annoyance at bay, she constantly finds herself letting her guard down when it comes to Tro. Once Tro finally breaks down Shiloh's guarded walls, she slowly begins to let him in allowing him to see the real Shiloh Luck. Soon, these two found themselves forming a deep friendship. But the only problem with their budding friendship is that Tro wants Shiloh and he knows he must resist temptation. But what happens when Shiloh wants Tro to cross that line? Will this rockstar bad boy find himself getting a taste of Lucky or a taste of the law?

“I don’t want to fall in love with Tro. He doesn’t do love. But like a tsunami intent on my destruction, there doesn’t seem to be any stopping it.”

With the first three books of the Jail Bait Series being so hot and forbidden, I found Getting Lucky to be on the slow burn sexual tension kind of romance. While there is still that forbidden element with Shiloh being 16 and Tro being much older, I really didn't feel it to be so much forbidden since I found Shiloh to be very mature and independent for her age. I did find this book lacked the steamy factor that I was so accustomed too after reading the previous three books. With that being said, I did enjoy that the author was able to draw attention to the slow burn romance of Tro and Shiloh. She allowed readers to see that Tro didn't treat Shiloh like the other women and that he deeply cared for her. Mia Storm allowed her readers to see that a person can change with the right motivation and for Tro that was his Lucky.

So why the four stars and not five? While I enjoyed the story overall, the ending was a bit rushed for my taste. I just wanted a bit more especially in the romance department of Shiloh and Tro. But with that being said, Mia Storm certainly had me addicted with this series and I look forward to reading more of her future books to come.

This is the first book I’ve read by Mia Storm – silly me.

Shiloh has had a life of living in foster homes and group homes and even though her last name is Luck, she hasn’t had a whole lot of it. That is until she wins The Voice at sixteen and goes on tour as the opener for rock band Roadkill. She’s on a whirlwind tour of performances and TV appearances and she soon catches the eye of Roadkill frontman, Tro.

Tro is a playboy and unapologetically lives the life of a rockstar. He wants Shiloh as soon as he sees her but when he finds out she’s under aged he’s forced to keep his hands off and through their tour he begins to develop feelings that come from a place other than his pants. He has a tumultuous past of his own and his life and journey to the top hasn’t exactly been easy either. He vows to protect and help Shiloh, all the while trying to fight the growing attraction he feels towards her.

This is a taboo romance kinda novel, and even though the age difference is mentioned, it never felt in the least bit skeevy. I suppose because Shiloh was such a strong character and Tro was just an insecure and overwhelmed kid in many ways himself. The romance develops slowly and there’s a great connection of friendship and care between the two before anything ever happens. The slow burn between these two was sweet torture as their connection grows and it gets ever more difficult for Tro to keep his head on straight and his hands off Shiloh. Told from a dual POV it was awesome to see the tension and angst building in Tro and how we was always just on the edge of losing his control around Shiloh.

There were moments that were just so incredibly sweet, it felt like two teenagers fumbling over themselves as they fall in love for the first time but their slow burn soon turns explosive when Shiloh starts to return Tro’s feelings. Both have issues with trust and it isn’t a smooth ride for them.

As their romance progresses there are also secondary players and twists that make for a very interesting read. Some twists were obvious but there were some that came completely out of left field. I was kept guessing as to how it would all play out right up until the end of this book. The angst and tension was super hot and the story developed quickly but underneath it all it was also a pretty great coming of age story as both these characters had to deal with unexpected turns and had to decide who to trust and where they fit into life. I really loved this taboo twist on rockstar romance and I would definitely recommend reading it.

::4 "Lucky" Stars ::

I am a huge fan of the jailbait series as I love taboo books with forbidden relationships. Mia Storm clearly has a knack at writing these tempting romances and I have not been disappointed with any of her books. For this one in particular, I loved the standoffish relationship between Shiloh (aka Lucky) and Tro. Shiloh wanted nothing to do with him at first as he is one to use and abuse women. This is clear from the “500” women he has slept with. However, as Tro lets her into his life, she starts to go soft on him until eventually she wants him so bad that she throws herself at him in a hotel room. Expecting Tro to take her as she wishes, she is surprised when he turns her down wanting more than just sex from her. Their relationship is pretty tumultuous from there and the rest is history.

One thing that I really liked about this book is how strong of a character Shiloh is. She is the kind of girl who “takes crap from no one” and this is probably due to her past and being in and out of foster care with no parents. She really had to grow up on her own. What I also liked was how the relationship between the two characters wasn’t instantaneous. They didn’t meet and fall in love in a span of 5 minutes rather, their relationship grew out of mutual interests and passion. Finally, I have admitted to loving forbidden love tales and this story gave me just that. Shiloh is considered a minor because she is only 16 and 17 within the story while Tro is older. Some find these types of relationships to be sick but I have to disagree because this is the work of fiction. While I of course don’t condone minors getting with older people, I can appreciate that this is a story not real life.

Overall this is a great book and I am so glad to have read it. I love the way that Mia Storm tells her stories and they hook me from the get go. I can’t wait to see what else Mia writes in the future because this author is a 1 click for me.

~ 3.5 Lucky Stars ~

Getting Lucky is the fourth book in Mia Storm's Jail Bait Series. Each book can be read as a stand alone. Even though in this one Lilah and Bran make an appearance, you don't need to read their story to understand this book. Mia does a wonderful job filling in all the blanks, so that reader isn't lost at all.

I absolutely love this series, but I am sad to say that this book is not my favorite in this series. I kind of felt the direction she took this story was different from her others in this series. With that said I still enjoyed this book and the storyline kept me hooked all the way through, I just felt it lost some of it's TABOO feeling along the way.

What drew me to this series is it's taboo subject line and I felt that, that played second fiddle in this book. I mean the age difference between Tro and Shiloh never really played a big part in this storyline. Yes it is mentioned a few times but it just never really played out like it did in the other books in this series. Part of that might be because it took Tro and Shiloh so long to get together in this book. Talk about ANGST!!!!

In this book we get the story of Shiloh (Lucky) and Tro. Shiloh is Lilah's BFF (From Getting Hot Book #3) and has just won the tv show The Voice. She is now set to go on tour as the opening act for Roadkill. Tro is the lead man in Roadkill. He is also your typical musician/manwhore. He loves to drink and hookup his problems away. Shiloh is a very naive young girl and over the course of the story we really see a lot of that. She has some serious trust issues due to a poor upbringing. Tro also had a horrible upbringing, which has led him to runaway and be someone he isn't. I found I had a hard time connecting with these two characters because I really didn't like Tro's WILD ways, (I thought they went on way too long) and I wanted to smack Shiloh so many times, that I just couldn't connect with her. There were things that happened between these two that I wish would've come out sooner in the story, I think things would've been different for me then if they had.

I loved getting to see Lilah and Bran in this story again. We even get a glimpse of Destiny and what is going on with her.

I will say I was extremely happy with how this story ended and where all the characters ended up.

Even though each of these books are age related taboo love stories, I truly believe they are all tastefully written. These books are all fairly quick reads and talk about STEAMY :) but not to the point of tacky or raunchy. Even though this one wasn't a 5 star read for me…I truly believe everyone should give this series a try. Once you start you won't be able to stop reading them and like me, you will want Mia to write more books in this series. I surely hope there is more to come :)

While I'm so addicted and so into this series, I'm a bit disappointed to find Getting Lucky a bit short of the sizzle, spark and substance that the other books had. Especially Getting Dirty—that's still by far the best one for me in the Jail Bait series. This has a bit of a long drag of sexual tension and has such a slow progress in the relationship department. Honestly, I didn't really care if it took them forever to do the deed, but the build up was so slow that you're just going to find yourself reading and reading to the point that your patience wavers because the characters just can't seem to see eye to eye fast enough. Then, just when things get really interesting and picks up, the book ends. And I was seriously stumped. I felt like the ending was so freaking rushed. Again, I love this series, but this particular book fell a bit short for me.

If you've read the book before this, Getting Hot, you would've gotten a glimpse of whom Shiloh Luck is. She's Lilah's best friend who won The Voice. And just like Lilah, Shiloh grew up in the system too. Shiloh, or by the way Tro calls her—Lucky, is such a talented and independent soul and was pushed to grow up at such a very young age. She acts and thinks way beyond her seventeen years. She takes everything in stride, although when she won the competition and she's now in the limelight, all of a sudden, she's not too sure of herself anymore. She's apprehensive of getting criticized, especially that she's just a rising star, that she has to be careful of everything she does. And after having the childhood that she had, her barriers are as high as Mount Everest. She couldn't let herself trust just anybody with her life.

Tro Gunnison is a rockstar from the band Roadkill who also has his own demons. Ever since he had his rise to fame, he's been fine living off the high life with performing and blowing off the roof of each stage he gets on, women and drugs. And he was totally okay with that. Until he met Lucky. The underage girl with the voice of an angel who will be opening for their North American tour for about two months. The girl who didn't take any of his bullsh*t, didn't fall for his charm and seemed to disgust her instead. The girl whom he wanted to possess like no other. The girl who made him see and realize that there's so much more to life than just the one he was living being with Roadkill.

I loved Shiloh's strong personality and the way she didn't fall right away for Tro's moves. And I admit, I kinda hated Tro in the beginning. He was too wild without a care in the world. But then he was the first to fall—and he fell so damn hard. When he started to change his ways, to show how much she cared and wanted to protect Lucky—and not just because of the business they are in now—I softened up to him and even loved him. I think this book had so much potential to be so good, but I just don't know what happened. Nevertheless, I won't have it affect the way I love following the series. And I wonder if Destiny (Lilah's sister) and her hot firefighter hunk will get their own book next...

I am a huge fan of the Jail Bait series, and the forbidden romances that Mia Storm writes.

In Getting Lucky we get Shiloh's (Lilah's best friend) story as well as Tro's. After Shiloh won the voice, she's on tour as the opening act of Roadkill, Tro's band. When Tro sees Shiloh for the first time he's intrigued and by her. Shiloh is young, inexperienced and has no one in the business truly looking out for her, so she doesn't trust Tro easily when he says she wants to help, not that he gave her a ton of reasons to in the beginning.

I really adored how strong Shiloh's character was. The life she lived before making it big wasn't an easy one, and she showed she was wiser than her years many times in this book, except when it came to her manager Billie. I knew something was going on with her, but I just wish that that Shiloh would have figured things out with her a lot sooner. As much as she wanted to hate Tro, she was drawn to him, I think these two characters were meant to be together, they both have lived a life that isn't quite easy, and are just now figuring out who they really are.

Tro... oh Tro.. He's a confusing character at times. He's all work hard and play harder when we first meet him. He's the picture perfect "bad rock star" and then once Shiloh enters his world, he starts to see things differently. I loved how the tried to stay away knowing that he wasn't good for her, along with everyone else in the business, but Shiloh draws people into her world without even knowing it, and Tro definitely ended up drawn to her. I was so proud of him before he left for the European leg of the tour, and totally understand his reasoning on why he did what he did, but this is a part in the book that Shiloh shows her age and doesn't get why Tro said and did what he did.

Tro and Shiloh have a long road to get to a HEA, and I enjoyed every single second of it. I really enjoyed how this book drew me in with awesome characters and a great story line. I loved the ups and downs of their story, and watching both of them grow up in this book. I really want to see more of these two in other books and hopefully we'll get to see how things play out for Tro and "Lucky"!

If you're looking for an angsty, forbidden romance with a hot rocker, I highly suggest picking up a copy of Getting Lucky today! You will not regret reading this book!

Shiloh has been dealt a crap hand. She was raised in the foster system, going from one place to the next. She land a spot on The Voice and wins! She is finally getting everything she ever dreamed of, that is until front-man Tro barrels his way in.

Tro is an unapologetic rock sex god. He takes what he wants, does what he wants, when he wants. But Shiloh or "Lucky", as Tro dubs her, refuses to let Tro run her over. That anomaly catches Tro off-guard.

He then becomes determined to protect her from the assholes of the business and in the same breathe making himself look like a bigger one but eventually a strong friendship is formed. There were always undercurrents of attraction.

Just before Tro is about to leave for his European portion of his tour, Shiloh tries to give in to Tro, but Tro wants her to be more than a one night stand.

Can he be faithful during his time abroad? Can Shiloh let her walls down and trust him enough?

Throw in a scamming manager, an abusive father from the past, and a bestie that writes the music Shiloh really wants to record and perform; and you have the makings of a great story. Go one click this one now!

Another great installment in the Jail Bait *Standalone* Series!

Mia Storm brings us another taboo tale that has us rooting for the forbidden romance. Great writing, great story flow, great characters, and a slow build journey that's addicting from beginning to end!

Shiloh Luck began as a young song writer. She comes from rough beginnings, daily struggles and a strong self reliance that has carried her through it all. She quickly rises to fame by winning a reality TV show and scores a tour with one of the hottest bands. Enter Tro Gunnison, the lead singer of Roadkill....

Tro is your typical rock band man whore. His panty dropping abilities keep him sexually satisfied, living in the moment and making no apologies for it. As famous as he may be, Tro works hard to preserve his privacy and protect his secret past from the world. But suddenly, he finds himself more focused on Getting Lucky....

Although all of the installments in this series can standalone, I highly recommend reading them all!

As a reader who enjoys rock star romances I found myself quickly engrossed in the action and characters caught up in the turmoil of the rock 'n roll lifestyle in this fourth installment in the taboo-themed Jail Bait series. Along with the vivid depiction of the ups and downs of finding fame, Ms. Storm also includes the romance of the barely legal heroine drawn to the rock star who's trying to find something meaningful in his life. It all combines to make a sensual read with surprising heart that kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish, charmed by the unexpected depths to the main characters, that left me sorry to see it end.

Tro Gunnison's past is one of pain and loneliness with a deadbeat father bent on ruining his life until he runs away to turn his musical talent into fame. Wanting to forget all the pain though has him embracing the stereotypical rock star lifestyle of sex, drugs, and rock 'n roll. He lives without regrets, saying and doing whatever he wants as there's no one he feels obligated to...until he meets rising star Shiloh Luck. In her eyes he sees innocence, goodness, and mutually understandable pain. It resurrects the heart he thought he lost and has him trying to become a better man, a man worthy of her love. Giving up his vices leaves him even more lost at a time of great turmoil, but his dedication brings him even closer to Shiloh at a time when he'll need her support more than ever. I adored Tro, even at his most hedonistic as his charm always shone through. He knew he was no good, and wanted to protect Shiloh from himself, but being around her slowly changed him and had him throwing off the meaningless trappings of fame. He chose to embrace the more meaningful aspects of life and it felt as if his soul was unburdening despite the pain of starting over and it left me cheering for him with pride.

Shiloh Luck came from a broken home that left her in foster care and at the mercy of anyone bigger and badder than her. It left her untrusting of others except for her friend Lilah (seen in the first installment of this series) whose musical talent helped her gain fame and put her on a collision course with Tro. She's young and naive when it comes to music, street smart but uncertain in how to act in this world of money and pirahnas. She wants to be loved but doesn't want to be vulnerable because of those feelings. Though Tro is abrasive something about him calls to her. When they're together she wants him despite what she knows is best as he shows a deeper, and more meaningful, side to himself. They make beautiful music together, but just as she discovers a crushing betrayal close to her, he'll be battling his own demons with the return of his past. Shiloh's a bundle of energy that's jaded because of her past. She wants to believe in HEA but seen too much badness in her life to think any different which puts a strain on her burgeoning relationship with Tro. When he needed her most though she was there full of maturity and understanding to help him put his life back together.

The issue of their age difference was supposed to be seen as taboo but I never felt that way as nothing happened between them until after her birthday. They really were just friends at first as Tro wanted to be her protector. Tro was seen as older though because of his craven lifestyle but he wasn't that much older than her. Regardless of age their connection was crackling as it wavered from sexual innuendoes to playful banter to musical equals. Ample time was spent on them as individuals, to help readers see past their personas, but also as a couple with interactions teeming with sexual tension. The secondary characters of their bandmates were a motley crew and vividly depicted to make you feel a part of this glitzy world with the concert scenes pounding off the page. Seeing Lilah and Bran from Shiloh's past was heartwarming and was her shelter in the storm her life had become after discovering her heartbreaking betrayal and their scenes together brought a smile to my face. The only part of the story that frustrated me was Tro's father and the overly dramatic turn of events regarding his discovery that came out of nowhere. It felt unnecessary and took time away from the sweet and sexy early stages of Tro and Shiloh's relationship, a relationship that I wish we could've seen more of once they finally committed to each other. On a whole though I was captivated by this story and its two larger than life leads. Tro was an animal on stage with a devil may care persona that was immensely attractive, but it was those sweet words and even sweeter lyrics that showed his true heart that left me drooling over him and a recent addition to my book boyfriend list. Though this story can stand nicely on its own I'm now compelled to go back and read the previous installments as Ms. Storm's storytelling has me wanting to experience more of her talent.

Rate: 5/5 stars

Between this one and 'Getting Hot' I have no clue which one was my favorite, they were both so amazing and I loved them. This one was epic.
First, I love books about boy bands, I've said this countless times before.
Second, I love that this book was a continuation of the last one because it's about Delilah's best friend and what happened to her after the reality show, with her career and her life.
Third, I'm really glad this book was about Shiloh, she deserved her own book and it turned out to be a pretty amazing one.
The plot was insane, it really just summed up a bunch of genres I usually love, it was perfect for me.
Tro just really got me in the feels, he was definitely one of my favorite male characters in the series, once again not sure if I like him better than Branson or not.
Overall, I really loved this one! It was funny, intertaining, sexy and raw. Can't wait to read it again someday.

Mia Storm’s fourth installment, Getting Lucky is a breathtaking addition to the Jail Bait series. While each part can be read as a standalone, I would recommend reading each one because the previous title introduces the next charter. With that being said I wonder which direction Ms. Storm will following next.

Getting Lucky follows Shiloh Luck, whom was made known in Getting Hot. She’s the best friend of Lilah and a upcoming star after her major win on the Voice . Shiloh had a difficult life she's a ward of the state after being abandoned by her parents. Music has been her escape and freedom. Her newfound fame has also gained her a great deal of attention, one of her many admirers is non other than Roadkill’s frontman Tro Gunnison.

Tro is a bad boy, reckless, and a has an appeal like no other. It doesn’t take long to realize there’s more to him than what’s seen in the rare interviews that he’s done. Normally Tro has zero problem getting women to fall all over him without any effort, but it's something about Shiloh that knocks him off his game.

It was quite refreshing that Mia took a different approach with Getting Lucky which the angst and tension was defianitely there is was more of a slow build up without the steamy release. While the Jail Bait series is about forbidden love due to age difference, this may not be for everyone. At times I forget Shiloh was underage, I’m not sure if it was due to her maturity and the fact she’s been on her on for a large portion of her life. Even with street smarts and confident did not exempt her from being insecure at times causing her to question who can she trust.

Secretly not so secretly I’m hoping these two get another story even a novella only because the ending seemed a tad rushed. There was all this drama that kinda clean itself up with zero effort and life went on. With that being said I still even the writing and the journey. As always I’ll be on the lookout for more that Mia has to offer.

There was no doubt in my mind that I wanted to read Getting Lucky after having read Getting Hot and deciding that the Jail Bait series would be one series that will be on my TBR until the very last book. I was so sure about it that I didn't even check out the synopsis, but as soon as I read an excerpt, I started getting really excited and couldn't wait to start it! It turned out to be way better than I expected it to be - it was just amazing!

I was so looking forward to meeting Lo after getting to know Lilah and although there were a few times when she got on my nerves because she was doubting my guy, I really did love her. She's a strong, tough girl, she's confident, independent, and she challenges Tro. Lo doesn't fall all over herself trying to get him to notice her, you know, she makes him work for it and I'm glad she did because it made her different from all the other girls, plus it was pretty entertaining to watch! It can't be denied how strong Lo is, but she has her moments of insecurity, doubt, and vulnerability that really made her seem real. Lo's an awesome heroine and was absolutely right for this story!

Well, if you didn't figure it out before when I called Tro my guy, then I'll tell you right now that I LOOOVED him!! And I'll admit that I usually love my heroes, I'm pretty easy in that aspect and it's definitely nothing new for me, but there was something that makes Tro just a little more special and different than most of all the other guys. And that was that he made me so proud of him, I thought I would burst! It might sound kind of crazy, but it's not often that my heroes make me feel anything but the normal pride that naturally comes with loving them, but Tro just made me so proud of him that I couldn't stop grinning, my whole body was buzzing and I felt like jumping and down. He's just amazing and I can't imagine that I'll forget him any time soon, if at all!

I knew from Getting Hot that although Ms. Storm might write romances that are a little on the forbidden side, they aren't just meaningless, dirty sex stories and I wasn't surprised at all when Getting Lucky turned out to be about a lot more than just "getting lucky." In fact, I really loved how Ms. Storm wrote this book, there were a few sexy moments, but they happened at exactly the right times and were full of meaning, love, and respect. It was just beyond a wonderful read and I think it will always be favorite in this series!

Getting Lucky is a standalone, it's told from Tro and Lo's POV, and they do get an awesome happily-ever-after ending!

Mia Storm has done it again. In fact, I can't believe I am about to say this, but I think this one may be my favorite of the series. Okay. okay, I have loved them all. But I really, really, loved this one, more than I thought I was going to!

This is a standalone, but I feel like you will connect more with the characters if you have read the other books, or even just Lilah's. I say this because Lilah is Shiloh's best friend and we first "meet" Shiloh in Lilah's book. Anyways, Shiloh has always had a rough life and is wiser than someone at sixteen should be. She knows what it is like to struggle and to live in places that many of us can't even imagine. So when she wins The Voice her whole life is turned upside down. Now she is dealing with interviews, managers and now her first tour. Which is a big deal considering she is opening for the hottest band right now, Roadkill, and the hottest part about that band is Tro, the lead singer and songwriter. As much as Shiloh wants to hate him, she can't help but see behind the mask that Tro shows everyone else and she sees HIM.

Tro has had a rough life himself, one that he likes to hide from everyone. There are things in his past that even his own band members don't know about. Tro is every bit of a rock n roll God. He is living the life: drugs, sex and rock n roll. But then he meets Shiloh and something in him changes. He wants her but he always wants to protect her from this life and what it can do to you.

I have to say I loved this book. I loved Shiloh and I loved Tro. These two together just felt right and musically they seem to compliment each other. I think the music is one of the things I loved the most about this book. And even though this is a Jailbait book, I didn't feel it as strongly as the other books and while I loved those, it really worked in this one to not focus solely on the age difference. I loved this book and wish that I could have heard every song they sang!

I absolutely love this series. When you meet that one special person that pulls so hard on your heart and emotions that you don't know what to do we all know that age doesn't matter.

This is what happens with Tro the moment his eyes land in Shiloh. He doesn't know anything about here, but for some reason there is this pull that he doesn't know what to do. Shiloh, on the other hand, knows more about Tro than she wants too. And, that knowledge in itself is enough to keep her emotions close to her chest and to attempt to keep away from him.

But, we go back to that very fact of when the heart gets involved sometimes we might as well just hang on for the ride, because we are gonna end up falling anyway.

This story though is about so much more than just falling in love. The fact that it also covers learning to trust in someone other than yourself. There is also the amount of friendship that flows through this book. Which circles us back around to that first point of love, without friendship there won't be the love that is found. Also you must find yourself before all else, because that is the first point in getting to anything else. All of these are things that we learn from reading this story.

It is about Tro realizing what truly makes him happy, and about Shiloh learning that she can have the life that she so deserves without the pain and heartache from before. The way that Mia Storm adds not only the love, affection, friendship, and yes that big word TRUST into this story she adds so many different twist into it that it will literally catch you off guard with what takes place. This book was like the first ones in many ways, but yet there were some really different and deep elements that she had written into this book that I feel makes it stand out against the others. So yes, you must read this one because until you have, you haven't truly experienced the Jail Bait Series.

Getting Lucky by Mia Storm is the 4th book in the Jailbait Series but can definitely be read as a standalone. This story had a little bit of everything that makes a book interesting, mysterious past, hottie playboy rocker, younger female lead, overcoming the odds, betrayal and of course a happily ever after. This book was a 3.5 star read for me and I recommend it to others.

Shiloh Luck has recently wont the Voice and is now the opening act for one of the hottest bands Roadkill. Just making her way in the music world, with no one to watch her back but her manager, Shiloh tries to appear tough and unbreakable but on the inside she is second guessing and a little insecure with her future. When she meets Tro Gunnison, the lead singer for Roadkill, who is panty melting hot and has women throwing themselves at him, whatever attraction she feels is not something she wants to explore, especially since she is his opening act for the next 9 weeks.

Tro Gunnison has a fuck it all type of attitude when it comes to how he lives his life. Everything he does is on his terms and he doesn't care what anyone else has to say about it. That is until he meets a young girl backstage that lights something in him that he thought was long dead and totally undeserved. Only he can't get his Lucky out of his head and she slowly makes her way into his heart, without either of them knowing it.

Will Shiloh and Tro start a relationship on the road? Will Tro open up to Shiloh about a past that he keeps well hidden? With all of the twist and turns in this story, you will definitely be wondering the same thing as you read!

This is the first book that I have read in the Jail Bait series. I was really hoping that I could easily follow the book and get to know the characters without having read the previous book.
Despite me not meeting the main heroin at the end of the previous book I was able to follow the story easy enough and get in to the book fairly quickly.
The story took me on a rock star rollercoaster. There was a lot of drama and angst from the very beginning that really caught my attention. The thing I really enjoyed was how the author didn't just talk about the band playing gigs, she also gave us a look in to the music industry and how everything from the managers to the song writing process is done. I found it all fascinating and was a big reason the story gripped me so much. This was a original take on a rock star book and subjects I've not read about in other books before.
Shiloh was a girl that had gone from rags to riches. She has come from a rough life and had struggled for years, until she was lucky enough to win The voice.
Her life after is a complete whirlwind. She's caught up in meeting hot rocker Tro who she finds very hard to resist, fighting, drama, romance, hot sex, heartbreak and suspense.
With all the added twists and turns I couldn't put the book down.
I am now going to read the other books in the series.

description

“‘See something you like?’ she asks with a sultry smirk that’s begging to be kissed off her face. ‘I’ve always liked everything I’ve seen,’ I answer honestly, my eyes taking a sweep of her body.”

5 lucky stars!! This series, wow, just there’s not enough words to describe how good it is.

After having a rough start at life, Lucky, catches a break when she wins The Voice. Her life starts to turn around for the better. That is until her frontman Tro, comes and turns her world upside down and causes chaos. And while he acts like an all around jerk, he still is very protective of Lucky. And just as their friendship is blossoming inot more Tro, is sent off on to his European tour. Can he prove to be faithful while he’s gone? Or will his reckless behavior ruin everything they’ve gone through?

I mean there’s so much more to this book than what I just described. It’s heartbreaking, suspenseful and so sexy!! You really really for Lucky as you read this book!!

4 STAR REVIEW!!

This was my first book by Mia Storm, and I was a little curious to see how this story would work out. To my surprise, I actually liked it! One thing that I loved about the story was how strong and independent Shiloh was. Even thought she has been in and out of foster care ever since she was born, she knows what she wants in life, but more importantly, is looking for some stability and love. Now that she was won this season of The Voice, she is now on tour with a huge band opening for them. She tries her best to stay away from Tro and pay him no mind, but all of the antics he pulls puts both of them in the spotlight and causes a little bit of controversy. Tro is used to getting what he wants. He is a huge rockstar, so why wouldn't he?! Everything and everyone comes easy to him, until he meets Shiloh. With Shiloh, she is so standoffish with Tro and doesn't want anything to do with him. It is a challenge he is willing to take, but what happens when he realizes that he wants her more than anything he has wanted before? One thing that I loved about this book was that their relationship didn't happen right away. There was some push and pull with it and that is one thing I love in a story. I will have to go back and read more of Mia's stories, but I enjoyed this one a lot!

This book follows two famous musicians as they find their places in life and with each other. Tro is a man whore hiding from his past, until he meets Shiloh. Shiloh is an orphan who grew up in the system. She is just starting to get used to this life after winning the voice. Can Shiloh spot the con? Can Tro figure out what he wants and make it? Do these two make it work?

I jumped into this series with this book and it is book 4 in the series, however I don't know that I really missed anything so this is definitely a standalone book. I absolutely loved these characters and this story. I picked the book based on the fact that the blurb starts with a song. Once I read the lyrics I decided I wanted to read it and I wasn't disappointed at all.

This book wasn't what I was expecting but it was so much more. I felt true emotions for these characters. The things the characters end up doing to help each other are interesting to say the least. I couldn't put it down and read the whole thing in just a few hours.

I am intrigued to learn more about Lilah and Bran so I will be looking into book 3 in this series soon. I will be looking for more books by this author as well because she has a unique style. Well worth the read and I need more.

Getting Lucky is the fourth book in the Jail Bait series but can definitely be read as a stand-alone. I honestly had no idea it was a fourth book so believe me when I say you will not be lost one bit. I really actually enjoyed this book and would give it a 4 stars. Jail Bait is a good name for this series LOL You will have to find out what that means when you read it!

This is a rock star book with a forbidden love twist. Tro and Shiloh are 2 great characters and the passion that is shown between the characters on and off stage was/is explosive. I haven't read any other books by this author but I will definitely be following her from now on!

You don't wanna miss this whirlwind romance so get to one clicking now!
Look forward to much more in the future!

I did not like Shiloh, the other heroines of the series had something redeemable about them but not her. She meets Tro on the tonight show and is immediately a bitch to him when all he did was flirt a little, she embarrassed herself. The only reason I finished the book was because of him, he's a great musician who's a little reckless and loves woman but deep down he's a good guy. He tries to help her and give her advice but she keeps being a major bitch. I get that they formed a friendship before getting together but that didn't happen until almost the end of the book. The story was ok, I found the other books much better.

Another great forbidden romance from Mia! I love, love these books. Each one is a unique story with a great plot.

This one has a hot, hot rocker!! Tro is the man whore to beat all man whore's but 16 year old Shiloh is a challenge he can't resist.

I loved the dynamic between the characters, the steam was amazing. Will the young Voice winner have what it takes to tame the big bad rocker? You have to read it to find out!

I am completely addicted to this series. I highly anticipate each and every release.

Shiloh is such a strong girl who is aged beyond her years. She knows how to survive and no hard rocking playboy is going to make her part of his game.

This series is addictive! I loved the storyline. The author did a wonderful job with the description and detail. Shiloh and Tro will embed themselves in your heart. Shiloh was dealt a sh*t hand early in life. She is finally getting her dream and is determined not to let anything ruin it. Tro is a true manwhore. But when he sees Shiloh, something in him shifts. These two dance around each other both trying to decide if the risk is worth it. I am so glad it was! There are twists and turns to keep you on your toes. Hoping there will be more in the Jailbait series!

This could've been much better. The h was annoying, she and the hero don't get together until somewhere around 90%. Why do authors think we want to read a "romance" with the H/h apart for the vast majority of the book?? This is like a continual theme in all the books I've read lately. And for some reason no one seems to care that the h is underaged so it takes that "taboo" out of the scenario completely. Overall this book (and series) is just "meh".

The story of Shiloh & Tro fell a bit short for me and is my least favorite in the Jail Bait Series. I was a fan of sexy rocker Tro's character but not so much Shiloh's.
He was instantly attracted to her where as she stereo-typed him as an asshole & was very bitchy to him. It kept me entertained until the end which just felt rushed and not a good choice for their happily ever after.

I was so excited to read this book, and it did not disappoint. Now even thought it is apart of a series, it can be read as a standalone. Lucky is a girl that trusts nobody, however her feelings are telling her differently. You will become one with Lucky. I hope there is more!
