Ideas And Disclosures

Rate this book
The Ideas and Disclosures book deals with intimate, ageless, eternal yet not fully understood abstract themes like God, reason, human mind, nature, time, desire, instinct, love, fate, science, faith, religion and numerous other day to day issues like man, woman, democracy, good, bad, intelligence, stupidity etc,. It contains more than 700 numbers of separate thoughts in the form Ideas and Disclosures, which are essentially brought out from deep thinking and also from real world human behaviors and experiences. Out of all God, reason and mind have been made as favorite themes of the book.
The Ideas are more abstract and mental interpretations of each issue after prolonged thinking while the Disclosures are more different and revealing information than what is known presently. The Ideas are mental conceptions and Disclosures are heartfelt messages.
The Ideas and Disclosures are presented in a random manner as any normal human mind would think and experience. Each of the themes has been thought over and interpreted to represent differing human mental states and circumstances that a man normally encounters. As such the book is composed of diverse thoughts on vital matters and eternal questions that any serious human mind would long for. The book would help clear the reader the faint and blurred views on many subjects including his own existence and the world around.

Firstly I thank the author for the book and the special hand written note. This is the one of the best books I have ever read.It is basically a compilation of ideas, facts, opinions, thoughts, musings etc just as the name suggests. The cover design and the title is apt.

Honestly I don't feel qualified enough to talk about this book. The language is so simple and the book very thin, it took me more time because we need our grey cells to understand few stuff so thinking and a quiet place to do so is required. The ideas & disclosures part 1 are put in 751 points (few of them being repetitive) in a crisp way. Most of them are facts and some are the author's imagination.Though some of them feel like you have read them somewhere else, you can find that they are just simple statements or the author's observations & experiences throughout his life.I couldn't understand few stuff though. While reading the book I felt that it is also aimed at pleasing women in general and some points are just stupid.I can't agree with the author completely on that topic or regarding the opinion of the author on rituals. Most traditional rituals for women are done for the overall well being of the women (both physically & mentally) at several phases in her life. They are not done because a man created them to subdue women! And also I believe a man is as natural as a woman and both need each other.(You said a woman can live without a man but the vice-versa is not possible & a single man cannot be cultured); In the past may be not possible but in today's age It is possible for a man to be single & cultured). Also you have mentioned that a man would rather chose an innocent pretty woman than an intelligent being who can reason. While this may be true because most of the men are stupid :P but this pattern will hopefully change in the future. In my experience both men & women have different roles to be performed and I wouldn't say any gender is superior to another, Infact a woman is physically weaker than a man but maybe a little mentally stronger.Like you said, nature never creates any two things as equal. You say without creating confusion, a man can never win a woman.I say not true.:P The book gets a little philosophical & boring sometimes. Here are some of my favorite points from the book:
1.Whatever exists, exists only for you.The same never exists for all others.Real is subjective; anything objective is a manmade illusion.
2.Materialism as is frequently leads to inhuman attitudes as spirituals leads to exploitation. All normal qualities have been distorted by extreme materialism & pseudo spiritualism.
3.Love is the most real amongst all unreal.

I can't type everything so I'll just mention the numbers of the rest of my favorites: 98, 100, 101,248,(283*),294, 314,318,344,382,398,430,450,494,498,510,685,688.So these are the highlighted sections in my copy.

Finally I really enjoyed reading the book & I sincerely thank the author for this experience.:) I look forward to read your other 2 books and I hope a wide range of topics are covered in them.

Before I write something about this book, I would like to thank the author Thiruman Archunan for the giveaway. I’m completely blown away with author’s handwritten note in the book & more surprisingly it was a personally autographed copy. Thank you Archunan for everything what you made me feel & I’m fortunate that I came across with such a wonderful book. This is Book-1 of “IDEAS TRILOGY” & in this book the author discussed the subjects like God, Reason, Intuition, Nature, Good, Bad, Man, Women & etc.

Speaking about the book, I doubt whether my Knowledge, Experience & Understanding would be enough to review this book! Unhesitatingly not, but I would like to spread the word so it would help somebody at some point of time. I felt the author Archunan is truly an enlightened soul. Each & every idea or disclosure in this book is a PEARL, which allows a person to see the subjects discussed in a different perspective. I’m an atheist & the God what I understood is discussed as the first God in this book which made me easier to connect with author’s view. I can’t pick like something is good & something is bad in this book. To me everything was extraordinary & words are not enough to describe the worth of this book. This book is for one who wants to know & understand one’s Self, God, Reason, Nature, Good & Bad in a different perspective; I would highly recommend this book for those people.

The satisfaction you have when you have good books like this in your bookshelf can’t be described in words. Thank you Archunan for this wonderful giveaway, eagerly awaiting for book 2 & 3.

There was darkness, complete darkness at the beginning.
And then the creator said-let there be light.
Light that erases all darkness-darkness of ignorance, darkness of superstition, darkness of death………
Human intellect is a lifelong quest towards the eternal truth, towards light, towards divinity. In this endeavor human mind is often ignited with flashes of lights-they are meant to last for a few milliseconds…..then they are lost into darkness of oblivion. Flashes of lights of ideas-that makes human mind so special-so different from the other species around the world. These ideas are often like scribbles-may be of little importance when presented in isolation-but together a bunch of ideas can spin the world around.

A great book! I love the author does not have a target audience as then each person can take a way their best understanding. The introduction serves as a wonderful guide as how to approach each section of the book. I loved the "ideas and disclosures" as they made me think. I didn't expect to draw conclusions so much as to enjoy the higher level of thinking presented. I did, however, come to a better understanding of my own thoughts and ideals. The conclusion is brilliant and the real world example is spot on. The book is everything promised with great respect for the reader. A thinking person's book and a good read.

I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway.

This is one of the most boring books I have read. The part where the author tries to differentiate between ideas and disclosures did not even make sense. It is really preachy and there really is not any insight to be gained. There is nothing new and this book just put me to sleep. Definitely not recommended.

Thank you so much Mr. Thiruman Archunan and GoodReads Giveaways program for shortlisting me among other avid readers to read your book and share the feedback as a reader.

As for the book, it came with a personal note from the author along with his signature, making this a lovely review copy. Thank you for that :)

The author has around 700 (751 to be exact) 'Ideas and Disclosures' that has found a place to grow in his mind, possibly through his own life experience(s). His ideas/thoughts can be summed up into a number of projecting themes, including God (rather the truer nature of what seems to be God-liness), Religion (as to how/why people choose to stick with a religion/not), nature of human understanding (as to how we react to things the way we do, and ideas on why), and nature itself.

As with people inquiring into the depths of human reasoning, the author has a lot of insight hit spot-on many a times, although there are of course some ideas/disclosures that the author has at times that – I personally, as well as other in general – might not take for granted. A lot of the ideas the author portrays are surely genuine truths that have came to the author as a part of his definitive thought process. Most of it is simple enough to see and understand, once we are past the veil of material illusions.

Some of ideas I thought of as genuine which occurs early on in the book include – 'Life is a mind's attempt to win over other minds, so long as it thinks the other minds are different from it.', 'Love was an attempt by one mind to posses another mind, and justice was one mind's concern for all other minds.' (justice/compassion), just to put forth a few.

Some thoughts might need some more rethinking (just in my opinion, strictly), such as – '..all living forms survive by feeding on non-living forms...', 'The knowledge only enables one to distinguish good from bad... ...whatever ends in good is all knowledge, but it always comes at the end of a lesson.' – We might need to discuss what is good/bad, and for who and the perspective it stems from. The author has however touched on this partly in another part of the book. In such cases, it would be nice to order the thoughts into when they stemmed up, and to what type of thoughts came later, in light of the former ones. But overall, the ideas put forth by the author have been well thought and seems to have given the author with a more richer understanding of life, than mere material thoughts and thoughts emerging from the same.

The book takes readers through a rich catalog of proposed ideas, as well as ideas which came to be – as a result of the thought processes behind other similar converging thoughts. I hope the author sees life with a little more humbleness (as to what can be gathered from the ideas, if thought to be the author's thoughts), as any intelligent and compassionate mind would do. Also, I feel as if I have read partly through the open slits in my mind as well. Its great to know people think freely, independent from the many influences on them.

It was a thought provoking read, and I look forward to the other two books in the trilogy the author has planned. Good luck, and keep asking questions to yourself and finding possible ideas from the many probable ones we may encounter. Since life is a multitude of probabilities, hope that you talk more about the grand scale of what is life in your upcoming works.

I received a signed copy of this book along with a personal note from the author via goodreads. I am grateful to the author for providing me with this book and for the personal touch. I have spent sufficient time going over the material and would like to provide an unbiased review of this book.

The very first thing that you notice about this book is that it includes a big bunch of beliefs, ideas, opinions, experiential learnings, values of the author on a number of topics. Some of these topics include life, love, God, women, men, freedom, beauty. There are a lot of points and I doubt someone would be able to flow through them all in only 1-2 sittings. I picked up the book every now and then and went though a couple of pages in a sitting pondering over the material as I read along, forming my own opinions or not forming.

While I wouldn't say that some ideas are rational there are others that are quite well thought out. They all are very interesting and they all focus on areas that we usually hold important in our lives. Some points are well thought out and the author has clearly put in a considerable amount of effort in thinking about these topics. The amount of originality in the material is praiseworthy. This clearly isn't a copy-paste work and you can notice right away that the author likes philosophizing about things.

I also had fun in trying to disprove some of the points rather than just casually reading. You agree with some points and you disagree with some points as you have your own opinion. Overall it is good reading experience and people who are interested in philosophy might especially enjoy it.

Ideas And Disclosures is the first book in a trilogy of ideas by Thiruman Archunan. It presents a series of thoughts the author has had. Many of the points are presented in reasonably short comments, with a number correlating to each and sometimes a short description. Other comments are somewhat long and can extend further than a paragraph. Many of these points are philosophical in nature. The author doesn't expect an answer of these comments, only presenting them to us for our consideration and for us to think about further. There are varying topics, mostly to do with humanity and nature. A lot of points consider the differences between men and women, whilst others consider the way humans relate to nature. I think that it was a good idea to present it in numbered form; as there are 751 things presented and, if someone wants to look back on one, they can simply note down the number and return later.

It was very complex and the author has put a lot of thought into the work. Of course, much of the complexity also comes from what you think of each point and how you try to understand it. The author has some good points and has left me with several things to think about. I appreciate that it was organised in point form; it made it easier to see where some of the longer points ended. However, the points of some felt kind of repetitive.

Overall, I think it was a fairly interesting book and some of the points were very thought-provoking.

I won a copy of this book via a First Reads giveaway and these are just my honest thoughts on it. For those who avoid such things, there are references and discussion on God and religion.

*****I received a signed copy of this book for free through Goodreads First Reads. The views expressed here are my own and unbiased.

It was my first time, I read a kind of book in which the author tries and succeeds in bringing about some thoughts of his such as God, reason, time, nature, love, faith, fate etc,. to the readers in a about 751 Ideas and Disclosures. I enjoyed reading every one of them. Some of the ideas struck home.

I agreed with some, I debated against some. My mind was a whirlpool trying to gouge out the different meanings of Ideas presented by the author. Every point had to be read twice to fully understand the message the writer was trying to send. This book felt philosophical (maybe it is, I didn't check).
I wouldn't dare to go into dissecting every single point made by the author as I consider myself not so full of understanding and knowledgeable. But nonetheless I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.

I think one who can come out of their religious embrace then maybe they will understand the concept of God the author is talking about. Ideas and Disclosure brings about a new perspective and people will definitely enjoy it.

It forces your mind to start reasoning with everything you know and everything you think you know about yourself. The author even talks about the chicken-egg situation and that was my favorite part in the book.

I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone who wants a new perspective on the general ideas about life.

Review of Ideas and Disclosures
By Thiruman Archunan
I received this book as part of a Goodreads Giveaway.
It is an unusual and highly original book being a collection of the author’s thoughts on many things and experiences in life. It is not a book that can be read quickly – not if the reader is to get the most from it.
I found my-self reading a few pages, then stopping to think about the issues raised and ideas posed. I can’t say that I agree with everything the author puts forward but that is not the point of the book. I can see and understand his ideas clearly. This is in part due to the language used which is not too difficult for the average reader to understand. In a book of this type it is unusual for the language used to be so simple to read.
Anybody who thinks about why things are as they are will find this book very thought provoking. It would be useful to serve as a focus for group discussions. The main themes which dominate this book are reason, mind and God.
This is the first book in a trilogy and I will be interested to see where Thiruman goes in the next two books.
As part of the Goodreads Giveaway the book, which is autographed, also came with a hand-written, personal note from the author which was particularly nice. If you want a book to make you think then this is well worth your time.

Actually, I am not quite like a non-fiction book. And suddenly, I won this book from Goodreads. So, I read it and I found it interesting. I like the way Mr. Archunan wrote it with listing number for each thought. So we, readers, knew what exactly Mr. Archunan want us to know. The messages delivered well.

This book is pure of Mr. Archunan's thoughts about human, God, mind, and reason. It's a bit boring sometimes (well, it's because I am not used to read a non-fiction book before, maybe) so I spent so many times to read this, about a month. But I really suprised with some thoughts. I thought not so many people could think of it. If you wanna know what suprised me, just read this book ;-)

Here are some thoughts that I like :
- There is nothing called a Nothing. Any nothing is always something. (Page 18)
- Ignorance has two sides, to love and to hate. Intelligence has only one side : to keep quite. (Page 63)
- Abstraction is defenitely not real, but it is one of the greatest and most often inescapable tools that a human mind is accomplished to understand the real. (Page 69)
- Fear is awareness of certainty about uncertainty. (Page 111)

Over all, it's a good book and one more thing, I didn't see any type and the last thing, sorry if my English is not too good :-(

*I got this book as Giveaway.

This is a book one must read if they want to understand the basic things in their life. Its a collection of more than 700 relevant and irrelevant thoughts. Author has explained the thoughts ideology very well to the depth.

The very thoughts relevant to the relations between man and woman, man and nature, nature and woman; all are briefed nicely. The understanding behind the thoughts resembles the deep analysis of society and observation of life's strategies to the inner self. Soul lies in the thoughts.
I really like & appreciate the work of author from the bottom of my heart. It takes lots of silence and knowledge to understand what was written.

For me it deserves 4.0/5.0

‘Ideas and Disclosures’ is the first of the Ideas Trilogy. It consists of thoughts, philosophies by the author. The author had penned 751 ideas ranging from God, reason, faith, mind, instinct etc. Many of them are interesting and reflective, while some I found difficult to process and some others I found hard to agree on.

Life is a fine balance between expectation and reconciliation but often both happen simultaneously.

The language simple, yet it took me a while to finish the book. Read this book as I won it as a goodreads giveaway. Thanks to Goodreads and the author (appreciate the handwritten note).

Sir Thiruman Archunan's book, could be the next holy book in a way. It's definitely a thought provoking and ideal book for a great gift or keep it in the car and read it on break time. It's for intelligent and philosophical type of people. It makes a person realize who we actually are as humans and things around us. With 751 proverbs, I would recommend this book to anyone with open mind.

I was lucky enough to receive this book! I like to see this book as a collection of thoughts and ideas - the ones we get when we think about our life and the love, nature, science, faith, religion, humans in it. It looks like the author tries to make sense of those things for himself and as I was reading it I found myself comparing and reconsidering my own views - I agreed with some ideas, I debated against others. Which is what a good book is supposed to make you do - make you think. As a woman I did feel somewhat disconnected when the subject of thought was "woman". At that point I don't recognize myself in the man writing or the woman who is being written about. But I personally don't even see the need to divide people into men or women, I just see them as individual people.
