Strong black love is the simplest way to describe Jarlath and Zakiya’s blessed union. The two successfully builds a bond untouchable. That’s until karma has its way. Out for blood, Jarlath’s invisible enemy seeks revenge for his love one. Striving to destroy everything Jarlath loves, he kidnaps Jarlath and Zakiya’s most precious jewel, their daughter Naira. In response Jarlath paints the city red; war by demand! Will he remain New York’s most feared or be defeated by the parasite that craves his blood.
I couldn't put this book down until the end! Whew! I didn't like the way Jarlath treated Zakiya. For the life of me, Idk why she stayed with him and on top of that agreed to be his wife. This Zakiya in this book was a chump! I liked her better in the first book. She didn't put up with foolishness! But this Zakiya needed to buck up! I'm glad they were able to get Naira back safe. Now, where's Bailey? I guess I have to find out in the next book...
This book wasn't as exciting as the first installment for me. However, the author still delivered a story that left me wanting more. I hate that Zakiya appears to be a much weaker woman, and also plays the background a bit in this installment. I was looking forward to the feisty, independent young woman from the previous installment. I still enjoyed the book and the curveballs the author managed to throw us. I can't wait for the next installment of this story.
This was a great story! It had sex, violence, drama, and plot that kept you wondering. I rated it a 4 because there were some formatting issues in the beginning. I would DEFINITELY read more of Cornelia Smith's work
Oh my goodness. This series just keeps getting better and better. The drama, lies, damage and etc. I hate what Bailey did to Naira, but when Jarlath catches up to him. It's going to be like a boom going off. Whew. Let me get to the next book. I have to know what's going to happen next.
