I also feel like I should mention the bonus chapter that feautures ten little known fact about ancient Greece. I loved reading those because some of them were unfamiliar to me. It really was a fun addition to this e-book.
Just as I feared, judging by the length, this was little more than a Wikipedia article in book form; a bullet point summary of the highlights of Ancient Greek history with almost no substance or context of any kind. But as I say though, what else can we expect from a book that we can finish in less than an hour?
Centuries of relevant historical facts and philosophical and political discussions summed up in a few pages for a very quick read on the basics of Greek History. Maybe for the younger ones that want to approach the topic or never heard of Ancient Greece? Either way, surely one of the most important times in our history whose legacy is still pretty strong today.

Is This An Overview? Ancient Greece had gone through various political changes. Removing the monarchy in favor of a republic. Developing a democracy. The earlier cultural developments set foundations that enabled the later cultural successes. A culture that enabled the rise of various world renown philosophers that changed how people think. A culture bound to mythical sentiments. Greek culture was acknowledged as valuable by other states. Alexander the Great expanded Greek culture, which others further spread during the Hellenistic Period. The fall of Ancient Greece was partly due to the Roman Empire, which had undermined Ancient Greece’s sovereignty. The Greek kingdoms lacked the unity needed to defend themselves.
Caveats? A very short book about a long period of time. The book introduces the reader to Ancient Greece, tempting the reader into searching for more information about Ancient Greece. The shortness of the book means that there are a lot of details missing. The details presented are simplified. The simplified details can misrepresent events.
This is a nice outline of the history of the Greek empires. The writing is concise, and the points are made. There are a good number of spelling and grammatical errors that don't overly detract from the intended meaning of the writing. I learned a few things about this colorful history from reading this book. I recommend readers use this book as a type of probe to see which parts of history interest them and then find other resources. The amount of research that went into the short work is satisfactory.
The name implies more detailed content than the book provides, but it's a very concise summary of the history of Greece, and does a good job with the connections to Macedonia, Egypt, and Turkey that is not always easy to find. Worth a quick read.
The book provides a good timeline of historical events throughout Ancient Greece. Although the coverage of each event is brief, it accomplishes the purpose of this book in being a condensed version touching on a series of facts.
If you're looking for a comprehensive version that delves deeper into Greek history, you'll have to look elsewhere, but if you're satisfied with a short overview of the happenings throughout ancient Greek history, I think that you find this book to be a satisfactory read.
Funnily enough the book was pretty boring until the classical era. Very concisely demonstrates the key aspects of each era. Would recommend using it to pick up topics in ancient Greek history to delve deeper into.
