Forge deeper alliances. Reveal long-buried secrets. And survive.
The old blood may have been purged from the courts, but trouble brews and breeds in the catacombs beneath Paris. Even from beyond the Veil, the Dauphine continues to pose a deadly threat to Shara Isador, Triskeles Triune queen.
At least staying a few days in Paris allows her to explore the grand Palais de Isador where her mothers once ruled. However, artifacts from Egypt aren’t the only secrets she uncovers, which makes integrating her mothers’ surviving Blood into her own all the more challenging.
Of course she must also sort the Valois siblings to determine who’s trustworthy enough to join her alliance. Unravel the Dauphine’s affairs when they still can’t find her consiliari. Oh, and also survive herself.
Because vicious traps laid centuries ago still lie in wait, not just in Paris but also New York City. With the Queen of Camelot on her own grail quest for more Blood, Shara must take control of the former Skye Tower herself.
Remember what died in the basement…
Because it might prove to be the deadliest threat of all. Not just to House Isador but the entire world.
I always love the opportunity to return to Shara's world! As this series is one of my favorite comfort reads, getting to see more of the character's lives grow and flourish is always a pleasure. What I didn't see coming in this book was me shedding tears. The author really got me with that attic scene...iykyk. Seeing the Bloods' reaction to such an event tugged on my heart strings! Most series, when they get to these many books, start to feel repetitive and lack original ideas. If anything, this series has grown it's lore and the complexities of the Aima world significantly. Seeing the court drama, and seeing Shara accepting her role within reviving the Aima world, has helped keep things fresh and captivating. While I did get this book as an advanced copy, I truly do think that Joely continues to positively add to Shara's world. I can't wait to see what happens next!
I prayed real hard before work that it would be slow, and I have officially finished Queens Alliance. Love the depth of the characters. Seriously almost died when we took a turn towards mystery horror vibe and I had to use the bathroom before I got to the conclusion of that scene. Then the end. I can only imagine what rereading will bring. The Screaming Madness gets scarier every time it’s mentioned. I love that Tanza and Keisha got closure. I can’t even count the number of times I just died. I laughed. I cried. I died. These characters and this world of story just gets better and better. Can’t wait to hear what happens with Occult and The Grail this world only gets better. I hope we get audiobooks forever and ever.

I finished it, all 400+ pages, in one sitting. Joely Sue Burkhart totally outdid herself with Queen's Alliance. Its truly her absolute best book yet. She completely nails the complex weave and flow of Shara’s story and the story line. There's a gorgeous mix of dark, atmospheric vibes between Paris and New York alongside some seriously high-stakes action. Watching Shara, the now confident queen, is so incredibly satisfying. The way Joely Burkhart handles the romance is pure magic—every single dynamic in Shara's Blood alliance feels deeply meaningful, and totally earned instead of getting lost in the crowd. Plus, that signature sensual heat, makes it a triumphant, comforting, and beautifully complete story.
Shara is back and I loved it! All the mythology and lore you’d expect from this series, as well as new distinctly unique characters and all of the favourites. I especially loved we got to see the strong general forced to face his vulnerabilities. Our vampire queen had a lot of clean up work to do after all the purging and she was busy! New blood, new alliances, more smexy times too of course. I don’t want this series to ever end (and that’s from someone who usually shys away from longer series). Excited for the next instalment!
This is one of my all-time favorite series. I love the character and world building throughout. Shara’s love for her Blood and the ends of what she will do for people who don’t even belong to her because it is the right thing to do always fills my heart. This book is nothing less than an exceptional add on to the series. Lots of action both on the streets and in the sheets. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
This was one book filled with continuous flowing blood and battle. This woman needs some rest and down time for real! More purging of evil, finding new (ancient) bad guys, connections with fae artifacts and magic brings to mind yet more bad guys and some kind of connection to Gwen. Having her and Mayte in this book added such depth to the story. Once again Joely has written pure gold!
Every time we’re invited back into this world it just gets better. Shara is a queen in every way and I love how she loves her people. My fear as her blood grows In number is that we’ll loose the bonds and connections that have made this so wonderful to follow. I appreciate how ms burkhart is walking that line of introduction of new blood while still giving us time with the old. Can’t wait for the next book!!! Long live House Isador!!!
I absolutely love this series. Love being back with the Isador Blood and Shara. I will say the last couple chapters are always the hardest because they are gearing up to end it all and also bring us back for the next book.
Honestly, sometimes you can’t think too harshly about the story or you’ll start to get confused. But it’s a fun read.
This series always delivers! How it keeps getting better and adding more intrigue while balancing character relationships l, I’ll never know. Cannot wait to see more of this world and these characters in the future!
Shara is back and this might just be her best book yet. The mythology I have come to love is still there and I love how Shara has grown into a confident queen not afraid to take on whatever heads her way.
I was lucky enough to get a ARC of this book, I just love this series so much, Shara has grown so much since the beginning of this series, she really become a confident and powerful queen. I enjoyed reading more of her story and seeing what the other queens are up to as well. I wish she had more one on one time with more of her blood in this story, her interactions and relationships with them is one of my favourite things. Not my favourite story in the series, I think it revisited previous story lines and characters which wasn't as interesting for me but this world is truly so unique that I enjoy reading whatever Shara is up to.
