വലിയ ഒച്ചകള്‍ നിറഞ്ഞ ഹാളില്‍നിന്ന് ഒരാള്‍ ഉച്ചത്തില്‍ പറയുന്നു:

വി.കെ.എന്‍. എഴുത്തുകള്‍ക്ക് സമാനമായ ഒരു വായനാനുഭവം എനിക്ക്
നല്കിയ കഥയാണ് 'കുരുക്ഷേത്രത്തില്‍ ലഞ്ച് ബ്രേക്കാണ്.'
അത്, പിന്നീടെന്നെ മുരളിയുടെ മറ്റു കഥകള്‍ തപ്പിയെടുത്ത് വായിക്കാന്‍
പ്രേരിപ്പിച്ചു. ഒന്നും മറ്റൊന്നിനോട് സാമ്യമില്ലാത്ത ശൈലിയിലെഴുതപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുള്ള കഥകള്‍. ഇത്രയേറെ, ജീവിതത്തെ സൂക്ഷ്മമായി നിരീക്ഷിക്കുന്ന ഒരാളെ
എന്റെ സിനിമാജീവിതത്തിനിടയില്‍ ഞാന്‍ കണ്ടുമുട്ടിയിട്ടില്ല.
ആ നിരീക്ഷണപാടവംതന്നെയാണ് കഥാകാരനെന്നപോലെ മുരളിയിലെ
നടനെയും രൂപപ്പെടുത്തിയതെന്ന് ഞാന്‍ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു.

📚 One for feather-light reads 📚
An easy peasy read from Murali Gopy, the actor-writer-performer. A wonderful collection of diverse and totally engaging short stories. Could have had more stories included in the book though; I devoured it cover to cover in less than an hour!
His writing style gives all the feels of certain prominent yesteryear authors and their classic gems; can’t decide if it’s a good thing or bad. A motley of styles; even makes one wonder if he was genuinely inspired or plain copying.
Sorry for being so critical! 🤷‍♀️ That being said, I thoroughly enjoyed the book! I will sure buy and read if he writes more.

This is a collection of short stories penned by Murali Gopi that dates from the 90's to as recent as 2014. The stories were much similar to his widely known works as a script writer- most were either nonsense from a heavily stoned writer or concepts that are not to be contemplated by us mere mortals. But there are a few stories that make the effort worth while. I always thought works that ask the audience to read between the lines were lazy attempts by artists in showing off their intellectual superiority. Yet this read showed me the other side. His observation, interpretation and allegorization of the most mundane in life is mind blowing. I was a big fan of Murali Gopi as a film maker but now I admire him even more as a true artist.
