This story was repulsive.

The H is a cheating adulterous asshole. Only someone with no morality would condone this pig's behaviour.

And don't even get me started on the stupidity that is the h...

This was RUBBISH! And very simplistic writing.

Good grief.... where do I begin?!! I usually love Elizabeth Lennox but this book just made me mad for the h. Seriously 6 years he cheated on her and only visited her 3 times a year (with his friends in tow) always got her birthday wrong and by what I took with the book, never understood why she did not want jewelry from him even towards the end. One part of the book she was listing off jewelry he had is assistant buy her and they all matched his ex mistress's jewelry that was bought for them. and who did he blame?? not himself but the PA. WHAT A GEM. He never owned up to the way he hurt the h or that it was his fault for his desertion of the marriage. I wished there was a grovel or the h showed more backbone than she did. He was awful to her and she let him. 6 years she waited. No way would a person sit there and wait 6 years for an a-hole who can not find his way home to return back to her. And personally I don't know of any woman who would put up with her husband sleeping with everyone and then falling into bed with him the first night he is back. JUST YUCK!!! Especially when the reason she married him was because of her mother and she had died 3 years before. She should of left him the day after her mother died. (Zero did not even know her mother had died 3 years prior.) She was a smart lady cause in the book she earns her own money and is helping the villagers become more economically stable. But when it comes to her own life she is a hot mess. Wish I had a frying pan so I could beat some sense into the stupid Zero.

Damon and Sasha, husband and wife, but are they really if your husband only visits you 3 times a year and you never had sex together. This is the first book in The Boarding School series about a group of young men and a young girl who met at boarding school and form a life long friendship. This is Damon's story.
The book first opens with the heroine,Sasha, meeting her evil Greek grandfather for the first time, her father left before she was born, and now her Mum is ill with cancer and dying. He strikes a bargain with her, subtle blackmail if you will, and agrees to an arranged marriage with Damon.
Six years pass and Sasha is no longer the young(18) ,naive girl she once was. This is her 6th wedding anniversary and she plans on giving her husband a gift he will not soon forget.....a divorce. After all she put up with visits from him only three times a year, her birthday which he sometimes forgets and shows up a month early or a few days late,Easter,Christmas,he has had several mistresses with his infidelity all over the papers and internet, and worst off all,his PA buys all her gifts from him,she buys double,so what she gets for a special occasion, the mistress also gets! What a sweetheartt!!!Plus, not once they did ever have sex in their six year marriage.I would say she had more than ample reasons for a divorce, she wants to move on,get a job, find a nice man, marry and start a family.
When she informs Damon of her decision,he refuses, how can she want a divorce, she is his wife and he wants her,he has not been able to stop thinking about her and if she wants children,he is the man to provide them as that is what he also wants.Who is this new and improved beautiful woman he is seeing now, this is not the mild, meek, submissive Greek wife he originally married six years ago when he was blackmailed into marrying her to save his family home....he wants this girl to be his wife in reality now and sets iut to have her.
From this point on,they consumate their marriage and she tells him, step out of line with other women and he can kiss her adios!! Damon now wants his wife above all,is jealous of any man who speaks to her and is ready to fight with them in the process, she makes him do things like he has never done before losing his cool, having sex in the janitor's closet and the limo,he has it baf for her.
I really enjoyed this book,I hate a cheater, but since they never had a marriage to begin with,I was sorta okay with this one.The heroine did develop feelings for her husband at the beginning, ready to do his bidding whenever she saw him,but over time that changed as she grew older and became a more independent, confident person who is by his side in business. He now had to work to get her back,a turnacround for him.
This book reminded me of Lynne Graham's The Unfaithful Wife".

Lynne Graham lite.

Actually, Lynne Graham done totally wrong. Spoilers ahoy!

I wanted so badly to like this. I wish Lynne Graham would go back to writing vintage Lynne Graham, but I would also happily accept an LG homage from indie authors. This is not that homage. The romance fails because the author is incapable of conveying the hero's emotions. (I'm generously assuming the entitled bastard has emotions that underlie his actions toward the heroine. Maybe I'm wrong and the author is simply portraying him as she intended: utterly selfish and self-absorbed.)

OK category style book. It just needed something more to balance how horrible the hero was. It got off to a good start and I expected lots of angsty drama, but it kind of fizzled out.

First, let me say that I have all of Ms. Lennox’s books, over 70. They all deserve a 4+ to 5+ in my humble opinion. EXCEPTION: This book, 1st in the new series. But the first book in this new series is disappointing, here is why:

Sasha has put her education on hold in order to take care of her dying mother and help pay the hospital bills. One day Sasha’s paternal grandfather shows up at their home in England. She had never met him or her bio dad. The bio dad didn't want anything to do with Sasha's mother when he found out she was pregnant and he is very rich, but doesn’t help with any expenses -- douche bag.

Her grandfather is a mean SOB and demands that Sasha do something that will hurt his business adversary, Damon Galanos. She agrees to marry Damon, even though she is only 18, because all the hospital bills will be paid until her mother dies. Her grandfather has Damon’s family villa in a small village in Greece and will only give it back if Damon marries Sasha. What else could Damon do except marry her.

6 Years Later:

Sasha had fallen in love with Damon at first sight. After 6 years of marriage, she was still a virgin. Damon went about his business, left Sasha in the villa for 6 years by herself, while Damon continued with his businesses and life. He had many Mistresses on his arm where ever he went and photographed everywhere and Sasha saw them all which felt like an assault each and every time. Damon had decided that it was time for him to settle down and be a real husband and Sasha a real wife. He even thought that he would get her pregnant and wait for the baby to be born and then go back to business as usual. Outrageous! I am sure Mistresses and all!!! No morals, values, or even humanity.

Damon would have fly-by visits 1-3 times per year but being the nice guy that he was; he had his assistance send Sasha gifts at birthdays and other special occasions. However, the same gifts that she received were identical to the gifts that each Mistress received.. How did she know, she had seen them in the news and the internet wearing the same items that she had received. When she finally confronted him with this, he was actually pissed that his assistant was an "idiot" to select the same gift for his wife and mistress. What, are you kidding me? He has no morals, values, or humanity. Then he decides he must talk to his PR person and find out why he didn't keep all those photos out of the news. REALLY!

Sasha stated that she was going to get her freedom NOW by telling Damon that she was getting a divorce. She had grown up in the 6 years and refused to be humiliated and shamed anymore. FINALLY! She packed her bags and waited for Damon to walk through the door. That was a good internal dialog, but her actions were weak, pathetic and demeaning to women as a whole because she didn't leave and didn't stand up for herself. She gave into to his will EVERY TIME.

After Damon had crushed the Paternal Grandfather, he considered divorcing Sasha, but in the end, it just hadn’t been WORTH HIS TIME AND EFFORT. ARE. YOU. KIDDING. ME. The “garbage wasn’t worth throwing out! WHO.WROTE. THIS? It cannot be Elizabeth Lennox!

When Sasha said that she was leaving, getting a divorce and going back to England and attend graduate school, he simply said “NO” and that he was going to consummate the marriage “tonight” and he did! What!!?? This is so outrageous and I am seeing red....now purple with black specs!

Sasha finally confronts Damon about his Mistresses, he does not apologize, but simply says; I DON’T HAVE A MISTRESS NOW. What!!!---- that would get his LEFT NUT cut off if it were any woman that had any self esteem and believed that she was worthy of better treatment.

The way Damon “seduced” Sasha to not leave, HE “BLACKMAILED” her!!!!! He threatened that she could get in trouble with the law for her investment advice to the villagers. REALLY!!! With the LEFT NUT already gone, now is when the RIGHT NUT should be whacked off!!!

My problem with this strategy for a character is that Sasha is painted as a week little girl, instead of a strong high self esteem women that deserves true love and to be cherished. She should leave and go back to England as she planned and let him come and grovel for a very long time until she felt she could trust him and feel special and cherished.

Actually, I am not sure Damon is redeemable, so I think she needs to get a backbone get the divorce with LOTS AND LOTS OF THERAPY and FIND someone else who would cherish her. Damon does not deserve her.

Perhaps the book is too short, and maybe if there had been 10 more pages, the book would have been able to give Sasha a stronger character that would allowed her to have her dignity and let Damon wear the shame and a broken heart. That would be more realistic to all of the female readers (which I am sure is more than 90%). No, 10 more pages would not fix this book. It would need to be scraped and start anew after chapter 2!!

I don't like either character and don't see a way to redeem either of them. I don't believe this can be done even in the next installments in an attempt to fix this first book????

I have to believe that this is a one-off for Ms. Lennox as it is 180 degrees from her other books. Maybe, someone else wrote this book in her stead. That would give me hope.

Quick reread. This reads sort of like a B-side Harlequin. If Harlequins were movies, this would be the straight to DVD version. The writing isn’t as good, the book isn’t as polished, and the plot isn’t as streamlined or entertaining. The characters are quite OTT even by HP standards, and there’s smut.

We’ve seen this before many times… the bitter blackmailed H resents being forced to marry the innocent h, so he leaves her on a Greek island with an unconsummated marriage. This H goes on to date/photographed with OW during the separation, and has his secretary send her jewelry for special occasions…many times gifted the same pieces that his mistresses receive as their send off present. All this happens prior to the book starting, and there is no on-page OW drama. I decided to round up this time around because it’s not terrible and was free, but if you are a serious HP reader… you’ll probably find it lacking.

He’s bossy and railroads her; she tries to be tough, but caves pretty easily. Some parts were entertaining, but other scenes missed the mark for me. The tone is not really serious, so there weren’t any deep feels.

I received a free copy , this is the first book in a series of a group of rich/royal people that attending a boarding school together.
Damon Galanos is blackmailed into marrying Sasha to retain his family's estate...very Unwanted Wife...except he publicly cheats on her. I had mixed feelings because he was blackmailed, there was no love for him and he didn't even consummate the marriage. He did swing through a couple times a year, and sent her jewelry from time to time.

For some reason, after 6 years he decides he wants to make a real go of the marriage, but arrives home to Sasha asking for a divorce. It's a quick read, he's a jerk...she's a doormat...meh

This book is a disgusting romanticization of abuse. The "sex" scenes seem more like rape, the husband is constantly trying to control his wife's clothing, social life and finances and refuses to let her leave him. He even acts violent in some moments. I'm all for redemption stories but this simply isn't one.

Like the Harlequin romances I read years ago!

I loved this book! It took me back to those angsty romances if the cold domineering husband who ignores the young virginal wife and cheats on her.

I'd also like to add I really like the cover. The light sprinkles of hair on his chest and also the light line going down to his pants...yum!!!

I can't wait to read about the rest of the gang.

I literally have no idea how to rate this book. I did not like the "hero" and despite his changes do not think he deserved a happily ever after though the heroine did. I never bounced back from my dislike of him and just cannot fathom someone being that arrogant that they should expect, no, demand, a chance to do what he should have done in the first place. I also cannot fathom someone who would wait so long to stand up for themselves. Hard one to rate. I guess if I rate it on how well the author wrote the characters then I would say she did an amazing job of writing a hero that to me is not a hero and got a second chance he did not deserve. I just could not forget or forgive his behavior and this is a first for me.

Usually when I read other people's reviews on how bad a book is, I usually think, "it can't be that bad. But this one is that bad. Very disappointing book to read. Please don't waste money on this.

Heroine has absolutely no self-respect, "Hero" all but blackmailed, bullied and seduced her into staying. Her 'threats' were weak and I rolled my eyes at how she easily succumbed to his seductions.

What an entertaining train wreck! There was some good angst. Damon was really insufferable with his blatant affairs plastered in the tabloids. He never really showed true remorse or guilt. The women, the jewelry, her mother’s death. There was never sufficient groveling! I love insufferable, horrible H’s though so it was great in a soap opera sort of way!

The poor h is such a doormat. She doesn’t have much resolve. Who waits around for 6 years!? Also, she finally had enough just as the H wakes up and realizes that he wants her... how convenient.

Damon and Sasha. This is one of those guilty pleasure reads. Totally harlequin style, but well done. This author has a huge repertoire of the same and years of perfecting her craft. It shows!
Sasha and Damon are manipulated into an empty marriage by her 'evil-villain grandfather'. She agrees to the marriage at the young age of 18 to so that her grandfather would pay for her dying mother's healthcare. Damon who is 28, agrees so that he can get back his ancestral home. Six years pass where Damon only shows up when the town's church parishioners expect it of him. The rest of the time he is wining and dining his mistresses. Six years, and Sasha is still a virgin. Her mother has passed away, she has recently finished school and the evil old goat has kicked the bucket. So now she wants to live her life... maybe find a guy who gives a cr*p about her. Damon, who has been obsessing over how grown up she is now (well yeah... she's 24 for crying out loud!) shows up earlier than expected but she's ready with her bags packed. At least she thought she was ready, but Damon likes a challenge and all of a sudden his wife is the most interesting thing in his life.
Well Damon has a huge hole to climb out of to win her trust and forgiveness... I kinda wish he had been more remorseful. It seemed like he just didn't understand the ramifications of his aloof lifestyle on his wife. What saves the book from pissing me off, was Sasha and her take no sh*t attitude. And thank goodness there's an epilogue!

It read like a series romance, and yet again this is a romance book that starts of a lot stronger than it finishes. A thin plotline, a douche H, an h so stricken with treacherous body syndrome she should have been hospitalised. I can see appealing to some people but it wasn't for me.

This is the first Elizabeth Lennox book I've read and I'm honestly disappointed. The writing was good and promised a lot of potential but the plot was utterly terrible.
The book started out fairly okay and I was expecting a really exciting build up.
The female protagonist was portrayed to be weak and submissive to the point where it was outright embarrassing. She literally gave up everything to stay with a man that could give two shits about her. It honestly rubs me the wrong way. Sasha just allowed herself to be constantly used by both her grandfather and Damon.
The guy is also a cheating bastard who has absolutely no regard for his wife's feelings. He literally manipulated her and toyed with her obvious attraction to him. He using sex as a way to rope her into staying came off as predatory and slightly perverse.
The whole book was filled with plot holes, no character development, no climax, no moral lesson whatsoever and tasteless sex scenes. Infidelity and unsavory submission was romanticized and made to seem okay. It would have been nice to see them connect on a more mental level and not only sexually.

I'm not a writer in any sense of the word but even I know this work was lacklustre. There were so many other directions that this book could have taken. It would have been exhilarating to see Damon learn to appreciate and love someone other than himself. Sasha could have also developed into a strong and confident woman.
All in all this isn't the worst book I've read(but could easily be).

Pathetic weak women

I honest to God hated this book!!!! Why can’t there be a female character that holds her ground and doesn’t allow a man to walk all over her! All it seems to take is one good fuck and they all seem to forget all the years of neglect and infidelity. It’s pathetic I would have liked this story if the husband actually understood and acknowledge that what he did was wrong, if Sasha had actually left him and he went out off his way to get her back and earn her trust instead of just demanding it. Instead all Damon does is demand, blackmail and ignore what Sasha is saying and she allows it. She has no back no bone it’s pathetic and disgusting. I have never hated a story as much as this one.

This had NO grovel, no apology at all, he was a whoremonger....

Having loved other books from this author I was shocked by what a louse and a loss this couple was... I was happy they were together in the end as I would hate a good guy or girl to end up with either

That was the Worst thing I’ve ever read. Don’t read it dead ass. Don’t read it because not only did he cheat on her for six whole years. Also, I think I would’ve liked to see a bit of that like if we had gone started a year before like this whole thing or something like he cheated on her for six whole years and then doesn’t even know that his mother-in-law died and I understand that under his circumstances like he doesn’t give a fuck, but still, she literally didn’t do anything and I’m like so sick and tired of just shitty male main characters like what the fuck and he comes home and he’s all like actually had an epiphany. I love you and I wouldn’t have babies the fuck and she forgive him so easily like the sex can’t be that good can the sex can’t be that good? I mean I don’t know maybe sex can’t be that good but like there ain’t no way you forgive a man after cheating on you for six years and he only saw you three times a year and that’s like at Max not even at minimum he forgot her birthday multiple times he never even bought her a present and his assistant would also buy her the exact same jewelry that she had to buy for his mistresses and like sure if he didn’t know about that but like why wouldn’t you know about that the fuck like don’t read this book don’t read this book. I’m so pissed off.

Even though it was a short story the pace of the story is really too fast
The heroine is total spineless
She says she will divorce but she doesn't because she is seduced by her handsome husband the amount of the word handsome is abused in this book is seriously skyrocketing.
I think I'm partially ruined for these types of novels because of the amount of Chinese and Japanese novels which I read, where the heroine isn't spiless and takes her revenge or have a good amount of grovel even before considering to get back together.
Though revenge is not a point here but still the heroine doesn't even have self respect.

And it's really gross when the grandpa talks about her bosom in the beginning.

There isn't a chance for miscommunication here because there isn't a chance of communication in the six years of marriage
And all of a sudden a year back he is attracted to her and came back ti the villa/prison because he can't get her out of his mind.

And I think the assistant did a wonderful job to send same things which was sent to his mistresses so that she could know that he doesn't even care about her.
Then comes back and seduces her spineless body and the small unnecessary scene of running away which eventually resulted un sex in hotel room
Why even bother when you yourself doesn't want to leave the man.
Many would say that she didn't left for the villagers
Even though he threatened her to harm them she should have just left him and file for divorce because he wouldn't have done any thing to them.
He was just scaring her and it was too obivious
Then he takes her to Paris and then leaving abruptly without telling her the reason and then meeting his uncle Charles.
And then the Scarlett scenario where his and Scarletts picture is out ont he front page instead of leaving like she should she goes and have a lunch appointment with him and confronts him and asks for divorce and he laughs at her
This time she should have just left or cried her heart out and refuse to even look at him
But she does and he goes out to tell that Scarlett is the sister he never had blah blah blah.
Man if you have feelings for her and had let your friends meet her before then why didn't you let your wife meet your other five best friends / family you considerd

Here is a demo

Damon looked down at the beautiful. woman who had stolen his heart.  “I can’t let you go, Sasha.”  He sighed and moved in closer, relieved when she let him put his arms around her.  Normally, he would feel her arms sneak around his waist but she just stood there, trembling.

“Ah Sasha, what am I going to do with you?”

“Let me go,” she whispered and he felt her cheek rest against his chest.  “It hurts, Damon.  It hurts too much.”

“Why does it hurt?” he asked softly, his hands moving over her back, trying to soothe her.

She wouldn’t speak, closing her eyes and letting herself stand in his arms for this last time.  She’d sworn that she wouldn’t do this, but here she was, once again reveling in how wonderful he felt close to her.  How pathetic was this, she thought silently.

“Tell me,” he urged.  “You love me, don’t you?” he asked.

She sniffed and tried to pull out of his arms.  “I’m leaving you.  I don’t want anything from you.”

“Except fidelity.”  He loosened his arms slightly, but not enough so that she could step away from him.  “And love?” he offered.

She wiped the tears from her cheeks, wishing she hadn’t worn makeup because it was probably all over her face now.  “Yes.  Love would have been wonderful.  But I never thought that would happen.  I just wanted you to be faithful to me.  At least for a little while.”

Not telling your wife and leaving her without an answer is also not a complete fidelity
And the reason of his leaving was also not such big one like it will change there whole relationship, his uncle Charles was dying of cancer.
He could have just said that I'm going to him
Nothing would have change

His abruptly leaving was forced in the plot for some unnecessary drama.

Here is another one

he stopped and chuckled. “She’s our voice of reason, our conscience, our annoying little sister and everything else wrapped up into a pretty package that we all are having a difficult time trying to accept as an adult.” He looked down at her. “Scarlett discovered that we’re trying to make a go of our marriage. She actually announced at that breakfast that you must be at all future meetings with the group. So I can’t imagine there will ever be a time when I’m alone with Scarlett again.”

This part was too forced for me

Like you meet the Scarlett and gang every month and now want your forgotten wife to be part of it.

And with bolt she said I love you feels too cheap

Damon shrugged. “I can’t remember. And I don’t care. Eventually we are going to have to do something about Grayson and Scarlett’s feelings, but I don’t care about them right now. I want to hear you say that you love me.”

Sasha stiffened in his arms, horrified by his command. “No.” But she leaned against him, resting her cheek against his chest, loving the sound of his heart beating. “You’re too arrogant.”

He laughed softly, his strong fingers massaging her scalp and almost causing her to purr. “And you telling me how you feel is going to change that?” he asked, thinking she was sexy and adorable. “Guess again,” he told her as he gently, tenderly kissed her lips.

Against her better judgment, Sasha kissed him back. Tears slipped over her lashes as she felt his love in that kiss. And her heart swelled with the same feeling. It was miraculous, amazing and… “I love you,” she said.

And here in the beginning she was thinking that she would divorce him and live a new chapter of life have kids and a new husband.

Everything felt forced

There is nothing wrong with loving your husband or trying to leave him or trying to rekindle their relationship

But here it feels she just did all this to grab his attention and she was successful in the end because if she wanted to leave she would have even if she haven't or couldn't then the story should have some of the interesting part but it was nothing new it was all anyone could predict would happen

The story is too boring.

The story is very basic

If it was old novel I would have understood
But here there is use of internet in the story and internet news and online shopping
I did not expect this from a modern story

If I would suggest a good novel then it's

This was just a fast read for me but I was TOTALLY disappointed and frustrated with the story...

You know why?

Who in their right mind would still stay married to someone even after knowing he's been cheating on you for years?!?

It would be acceptable if there wasn't any feelings involved but Sasha was in love with Damon the whole time!! And she knew the score of their marriage. She knows about the affairs, the gifts that she received are the same with Damon's mistresses, he sometimes forget her birthday and the only time she sees him are on Christmas, birthdays and whenever he feels like hosting a party with his friends!! He doesn't know what you like or dislike, he doesn't know your favorite color or food!

And when he was suddenly hit by the feeling that he wants to settle down Sasha didn't give much resistance and fell into bed with him on the first night!!!

Uuuuurrgghh!!!

I don't know if I should be mad at Sasha for being so easy or at Damon for not feeling guilty enough!!

If I wanted marriage like that to work at least make him beg on his knees in burning coals and make him crawl through the fires of hell!! You're married for 6 years and he was able to dip his d*ck on international flavors while you were locked away in a villa in an isolated village and all for the reason of your safety?!?

B*LLSH*T!!!

More like he doesn't want Sasha to get involve with his life!! And when she finds out about his affairs in the papers who does he blame! His PR TEAM!! He blames his PR team instead of himself that Sasha got wind of affairs!!!

How crazy is that?!?

Oh! Oh! Oh! And guess what Damon did to make it up to Sasha?

SEX! SEX! SEX! SEX!

Sex to the point of making her barefoot and pregnant!!!

Uuuuuhhh... HELLO?!? Caveman much?

But of course he changed. He became loyal to her, spent more time with her and treated like a wife should be treated all in the span of a few days!! How unfair is that?!?

Sasha was locked away in a village, endured the humiliation of knowing about Damon's affairs and still is a dutiful, faithful wife for 6 YEARS!! And Damon erased all that in a few days!!

Ms. Lennox I love your books but this one just made me want to pull my hairs out with the ridiculousness of the characters.

The flow of the story was good but i feel that there should be more to it hence the 3 stars...

I'll be reading the Duke's blackmailed bride now and I hope i wont end up feeling the same after reading this book.

Okay. So I got like... 50% into this book, and then I couldn't take it any longer.
I am no stranger to this kind of plot. But usually, there's some kind of balance between what has been done wrong and the making up, and in this case, he doesn't even recognize he has done something wrong. He gaslights her constantly, making it clear he believes she's overreacting when he neglected her for six years. He's been with other women during those years, and doesn't understand why she's mad about that, even though HE gets mad when he projects infidelity toward her and accuses her of having an affair. The book starts right away with body betrayal syndrome, so her resolution lasts all of five seconds. Then, she regains it, and I thought maybe it was a one time thing, an unnecessary slip, but it happens again and again, so Sasha loses all credibility, plus any agency she might have had in the relationship. She states constantly how she's going to show him she isn't the kind of woman he expects, but then that's exactly how she acts. Damon wants her, but it's clear he doesn't lover her, or even respects her, and is not trying to win her over; it's just plain manipulation and that oh-so-interesting body betrayal syndrome.
I'm mad at this book. At the characters. It was a huge let down, and did not meet my expectations at all.
