Marathon: An Introvert's Mystery Novella

Rate this book
Librarian's note: This is an Alternate Cover Edition for ASIN: B00YZNNN8Y.

Carl Pace is a man on the outside. Sleeping his life away in his condo of solitude, he leaves only to work as a freelance lab-rat in pharmaceutical tests. When Carl gets caught up in the wrong test, he must work through a mountain of questions, a parade of shady characters and the fog of an international conspiracy that could very well change life on earth as we know it. Trouble is, Carl would much rather order delivery and watch TV.

This fast-paced novella contains an oddball mix of mystery, sci-fi and comedy.

Quick-witted, great characters

This was a rousing, quirky (almost heartbreaking at times) fantastically written story. Lots of subtle humor and peculiar characters. It has a nice balance of keeping a foot in reality with another firmly in the bizarre.

It's original, so much so that you never really know where it will end up.
My love of the main character is one I can't fully describe. He breaks my heart and makes me laugh all at once. There is much more I could say about the fun I had reading this, but I feel like you should experience that for yourself.
