Alaska is a trip of a lifetime. I use Fordors Travel guides a lot and I must admit I was disappointed in this one. In general, I say anything that's forger's choice is a must do for me, as long as it's not something for children. I thought this book was pretty shallow, I didn't list a lot of my favorite things that I did in alaska in the 5.5 weeks i was there. Nor did it have a lot of forder's choice recommendations.
Although I tend to be a slow traveler and take more time in one area, so maybe for the average reader. It would be better since they're jumping from place to place and only spending a day in there.
A good guide to many parts of the state, things to do, places to eat and tips. Divided helpfully by regions. I should just know by now I am a Fodors girl and not bother with other travel guides. Very useful in planning activities and tips of things to see and do while there. This in conjunction with Trip Advisor helped me finalize plans. Should have used this from the beginning.
Got this for my Trip to Alaska, mainly because it included the Yukon which I was also going to. Decent descriptions and ok but not really great guidebook.
