A note from the author:
Thanks for visiting my Goodreads page.
I wanted to tell something meaningful about myself, but let's start with the important stuff--I love swoon-worthy heroes. The kind of heroes that are strong and would take a bullet for you, but also want to open your door and listen to you pour out your heart.
What else? I grew up moving. If you’ve read my books, you won’t be surprised by this. I have a lot of moving themes through my books centered around characters experiencing pain from someone moving.
It was hard. But, I believe there’s always a seed of good that comes out of everything hard, so I think the best thing that came from it was that I learned to love books.
And I had to learn a lot of mad skills on friend making. It gave me a love of people…good people, compassionate people. Interesting people of all kinds.
What else about me? I am a mother and wife! I have four amazing boys that are like little ninjas running around. I love them so much and I’m so grateful for my amazing husband who doesn’t get intimidated by all the billionaire men in my life.
I have a fierce love of my Savior, Jesus Christ. I am so grateful for Him and for the healing and forgiveness I’ve gotten to experience in my life. This is a theme in many of my books.
I love being an American. I am so proud of the men and women that support and preserve our freedom. This is another theme you will find in my books.
I am so grateful for my fans and for the support and love you all show me! Don’t stop reading!
WOW! Quite the ending to an intoxicating trilogy. I loved the story line. I love the hero type. There were holes here and there and felt there could be more, but I understood the fast moving action. I enjoyed it.
I read this a couple years ago before the other two books were released. I highly recommend having all three books on hand when you start this, and just read them all as one book. They're all novellas so combined they make one full-length novel (around 300 pages-ish). Since that's how I read it now, I'll just review them all as one.
Alexa and Sam dated and were engaged seven years ago when she suddenly ended things and took off. They are reunited when Sam realizes the new man in Alexa's life is not who he claims to be. They are thrown back together and forced to face their past and figure out what their future holds. Alexa's current boyfriend is actual working with a drug cartel and doesn't want to give Alexa up without a fight. Sam and Alexa go on the run and have to learn to work together and to trust again.
I enjoyed the story overall, I think it'd be nice if it were combined into one book with maybe a few tweaks. It was well written and moved along at a nice pace.
Content Romance: Clean, just kissing. Violence: Moderate. Deals with some serious topics rape, kidnapping, drug cartels, torture, etc. Religious: Very Mild, would consider it more of a secular romance Series: The Real Thing series, would recommend reading all three at once.
This is the final novella in this three book series, and like I’ve mentioned before I think it would make a better story if all three novellas were combined into one. You will definitely want all three on hand as each one ends with a cliffhanger. The suspense was fairly good, but so much of the story felt unpolished and like a rough draft. Some part of the story were summarized so much and some of the character descriptions didn’t add up. There are also some big traumatic things that happen and each time the author quickly covers everything up with a smile- it just made the story a bit too unrealistic.
I am not sure why book 2 and 3 were separate from book one since 2&3 were much shorter (novella-length); however, they were both enjoyable stories. All three had some grammatical errors and typos. This did not influence my star rating, though.
