Four boys. Hockey, a mom or two, a few dads, and love. Happily ever after. A recipe for at least one wonderful story. She didn't stop with a hat trick. She kept going until the end, which left me in the final round of tears. The plot was the same, more or less, for each book. Change the man, the woman, their interactions, and how long it takes to fall in love. And what else happens along the way. Ms. Jamieson handled that part tastefully and with a fair bit of adventure. NOTE: THIS SERIES CONTAINS EXPLICIT SEX. If that will upset you, go elsewhere, it's not for you. What builds these books is the characters. By the end, I knew just what each would do, most of the time. And the ending is perfect. It made me cry more. Good job.
There are five books in this four Heller brother series. 1. Breakaway w Jase and Remi. I liked Remi more than Jase. Jase wanted to have fun, no commitments and do things his way. Old girlfriend is pregnant. It was a rollercoaster ride.
2. Tag and Kyla in Faceoff: Neighbors growing up are home at their parents cottages, next door, on the lake for vacation. Tag’s hockey team is moving from Phoenix to Winnipeg. Kyla is trying to make partner at the firm that is eating a hole in her gut, grinding her teeth, loosing weight, and she faints the moment she sees both families in the backyard. I enjoyed this story.
3. One Man Advantage w Logan and Nicole. Both these two are in everyone else’s shadow. Logan is good enough for the NHL but being in two brothers shadows weighs on him. Nicole played hockey in school but alas no where to go to play now. Her dad, former player, owns a team. Mom a model. Nicole looking for her place. Unfortunately she is only around hockey players that is who she dates. The last guy she dated smeared her to the press. good match. This is the most sexual explicit of the books.
4. Novella: Hat Trick. All three couples plus college bro Matt home for Christmas. Jase and Remi and Tag and Kyla ruined the holidays. Newest couple Logan and Nicole had their 💩 together. Matt was a nobody. Would have been a good time to get time to know him before his story. Did not like this book
5. Offsides, Matt’s story and Honey. Too much time between Logan’s story the novella and this story. Only one brother still in the NHL. Matt is on the injured list ready to comeback from a scary incident. Back in college he had a thing w party girl Honey. Honey has pulled herself up from the bottom of the barrel and wants her past to disappear - she isn’t that person anymore. There is still chemistry between these two. Matt sees Honor’s dysfunctional family but at times he is immature.
These books were originally published under Ellora’s Cave so they are Erotic Romances. Book five has a boat load of F bombs. All in all they were okay to me.
Fantastic group of stories even though I know nothing about hockey. Well written and kept you engaged to the end. Will definitely keep reading Kelly Jamieson stories
All the hooks was awesome . Love how they are seperate but entwined. My favorite of the series is Jase and Remi . love the drama and the action. Keeps you on edge. Great book,
5 stars for Heller Brithers Hickey by Kelly Jamieson
Omg what a great read. Love this hockey playing Heller brothers. I read each book in a series which was the only way to do it. Talk about hot and sizzling but loved the romance too. If there is a next instalment it would be great.
Wow - hot hot hot. Very slight references to BDSM, but these weren't really described in detail, even as graphic as the actual sex scenes were. Sure, the plots were a tad predictable, but I enjoyed them all the same.
The only one of the series that fell flat for me was Hat Trick, which seemed more like a fan-service novel than anything else. I wish the entire thing had focused solely on Jase and Remi's struggles, because that was the only truly interesting conflict in the whole thing. Perhaps the other conflicts would have been interesting if they were fleshed out more (especially Tag and Kyla's), but it seemed like they were thrown in there just to make everything fall apart before it got better, and SO easily resolved.
In fact, I would say out of all the books, the first one, Breakaway, was the best. The conflict, set up, and characters were so believable, it had me crying at certain points, and I am not a crier. Jase and Remi are the most well-developed characters in the whole set, and you can really see where each of them are coming from.
I also really appreciated Offside, the last book in the series, because it happened years after the other three, providing us glimpses at how well the other couples were doing and allowing the youngest brother to actually be mature enough for a real relationship.
If you like flaming hot hockey guys, nicely detailed sex scenes with some slight BDSM tendencies, and the power of love and forgiveness, this is definitely the series for you.
It's rare that I find a book, let alone a whole series, that hits the target with both romance and sports knowledge. Kelly Jamieson does it again and again in the Heller Brothers series. Jamieson writes wickedly hot love stories that are both sweet and spicy. In this series she does a nice job of using current events from the world of sports and weaving them into personal stories that any reader can relate to. More importantly, her knowledge of hockey, both on and off the ice is on target and she works it into her books seamlessly. It's rare that I find a hockey romance that makes me feel like I'm right there in the arena, but Kelly Jamieson does it!
I loved all five books in the series, but it's the last one, Offside, that Jamieson's storytelling really takes off. I found that Offside had it all: fantastic story, great character development, my favorite H/h (I never would have guessed that Matt Heller would grow up to be such a sexy Alpha male!) and the depth of emotion to make my eyes sting with tears.
Breakaway (Heller Brothers, #1) 3.0 RATING- Well, I'm not sure what to think about this... I was reading along, enjoying the characters, enjoying their chemistry, enjoying the steam until the ex-girlfriend drama came into the mix. That left me feeling kind of meh...then the ending seemed rushed... and I'm feeling a little bummed and like things weren't resolved 100%. I guess the best way to describe how I feel is unsatisfied. Huh.
Faceoff (Heller Brothers #2) 3.25 RATING-The hero pulling out restraints and other BDSM goodies while on a family vacation, during a random hookup, in a tent kind of threw me. Seemed kind of odd to pack that when going on vacation with 20 family members but to each their own I guess. Still I enjoyed this short steamy read.
One Man Advantage (Heller Brothers #3) 3.5 RATING- I liked the hero better than the heroine in this one (surprise surprise). Overall, my favorite of the series so far.
So I started this with high hopes but those hopes died a quick death with the introduction of the ex-girlfriend. I knew that she was gonna cause some drama because that's what you do apparently. Turns out she got pregnant before they broke up which is convenient seeing as how he dumped her cause he didn't want to commit. I'm pretty sure she did it on purpose but either way she's tied to Jase for the rest of their lives. I don't read romance for that crap so I'm done and won't be reading the rest in the box set. If I had known that this was gonna be in the book, I would have passed because this author created drama when there was plenty without this stupid bullshit.
I usually don't choose sports romance books but saw all the great reviews and decided to give these books a try. Boy, am I glad I did.
As I read a book about one of the Heller brothers I kept thinking, okay this is the best. Not even thinking about enjoying the next book. Wrong! Each book about the different brothers was equally great. The love stories were so different as each brother met their significant other. What a great family.
Check these books out, whether you like sports/hockey or not. You'll soon love this family as much as I did.
I could not get into her writing style. At times, it felt like I was reading one of my high school student's papers. Also, the main female character was unlikable and the author contradicted her character traits. One minute the lead female character, Remi, was unsure, timid, and let her friends tell her what to feel and think. Then she switched gears and was a complete vixen in the sack. Lack of good character development. Just found myself skimming pages to get through. Won't finish the rest of the books in the series.
I was so glad to be able to get this entire series so I could read them all at once and I'm so glad I did. All of the brothers in this series are definitely hot and sexy, with such a sweet side too.
Once I started this series, I just devoured it as quickly as I could. I honestly can't tell you which brother I liked the best so I definitely recommend this series to anyone who wants a good bad boy hockey player.
These books were fun, sexy and involved hockey. What more could you ask for. The family dynamic is so fun and loving. The brothers are typical guys with extraordinary hockey powers.
My only disappointment was in the last book. While it was still a great book, The family dynamic just wasn't there like in the other books. There were life events that you expected the family to be there and they weren't. It was a little sad.
I was hoping to enjoy a good hockey romance series and I really wanted to like this one. The first book finished this series for me. I didn't like Remi and I wasn't so sure I liked Jase either. It story finished abruptly and I wasn't even hoping they would get together. That is not the making of an enjoyable series. I gave it a 2 for effort.
I loved that there was continuity of characters across all of the books. The first three books were about one main couple with information about the previous couple/s also coming out. The fourth book was about all three of the first couples, while the last book was about the last brother and the woman he reconnect with. All were well written and I look forward to reading more books by Kelly Jamieson.
I read each of these books separately and then I got the five book collection. I loved having them in one big book. If you like hockey and the romantic actions of four brothers read this collection. It's a wild ride from start to finish. Each brother is a rough and tough romantic and so are the women they love.
Loved this book series. Wasn't sure about it at first because the first three books literally cut off at the juiciest part. But then all was right in my world after the 4th book pulled everyone together. The sex scenes were HOT but not just pure raunchy. Some editing is needed but overall a great series!
I am thrilled to be able to read all of these stories at once. You can read them individually but it's best to read them all together. It makes you understand the individuals better. On that these are all great stories. I would recommend others to read the box set.
This was a all around amazing book. Everyone of these guys has a heart of gold. Yet when they meet their ladies they go all out to make sure their ladies are loved and valued to them. They all the fought for the right to have love and feel wanted and needed for Who they are. Not what they have.
I'm a big fan of Catherine Gayle's hockey romance series and this one is similar (although shorter) in nature. Good steamy scenes, interesting interactions between the players (all brothers in this case) and a balance between accurate hockey information and not being too overloaded with terminology. Overall an enjoyable read!
So far I have read about Jase and Tag.. I enjoyed both. These brothers are HOT!! I loved the steam and the chemistry. So far Tag is my number 1. Enjoyable reads so far. Just finished the third book with Logan, and OMG these guys just keep getting better... Sometimes they can get a little repetitive but not this collection. Very excited to continue reading... Enjoyed them all.
These stories are all well written with strong likeable characters and enough plot tension to make it interesting. The only detractors were the sex scenes since they tended to drag on quite a bit and the profanity. The characters are professional hockey players but the constant four letter words got tiresome
Wow this series was amazing. I love all the Heller Brothers. They all have different issues but they fight for each other. This book has ups and downs but it ended with happy endings. I high recommend this series.
