Christ and Culture in Dialogue is a reflective look into the culture wars currently being debated in contemporary academic studies of religion and theology. This book is a Lutheran contribution to H. Richard Niebhur's classic Christ and Culture. This collection of papers was presented at the 1996 Lecture Series on Christianity and Culture at Concordia University Wisconsin.
A really nice collection of essays on Christianity and culture, mostly from a Lutheran viewpoint with a couple of different (but not opposed) voices sprinkled in. Many of the essays are Lutheran responses to Niebuhr's characterization of "Christ and culture in paradox," but there are also some good ones on more specific topics related to culture and ethics. Worth a perusal if you want a Lutheran companion to such venerable tomes as Hunter's To Change the World.
