They call me “The Bang Queen.” No, not for that reason. It’s because I’m known around Nashville for being the go-to person when you’re convinced bangs will fix your problems. Now I have a new nickname—girlfriend of Asher Reed, star hockey player for the Music City Rockers. But I’m not. Let me explain. As a tired single mom, I don’t have time for many things. My days are pretty packed between my son, my job, and planning my sister’s wedding to my baby daddy. Yes, you read that right. The last thing I have time for is dating, which is why Asher Reed is the perfect fake boyfriend. He’s gorgeous, also doesn’t want a relationship, and he’s teammates with my ex. If I’m going to fake date someone, I’m going to do it right. The best part? This temporary arrangement was his idea. As a widowed single dad, he’s tired of people pushing for him to get back out there. It’s the perfect plan. No way am I going to fall in love with the six-foot-five defenseman with perfect hair who’s the epitome of a girl dad. Right? That is until I see him in a tuxedo. Until he holds me against him. Until he kisses me. It’s then I realize I never stood a chance. Because this pairing might’ve been unlikely, but now I’m wondering if this relationship was always meant to be.

An Ohio native, she’s fiercely loyal to Cleveland sports, is the owner of way too many — yet not enough — tumblers and will be a New Kids on the Block fan until the day she dies. She does her best writing at Panera, or any place that's not her office. Oh, and yes, you probably saw her on TikTok.
As for her own happily every after? Maybe one day...
Asher who lost his childhood sweetheart hasn't ever moved on and getting tired of everyone asking him about his dating life he enlists his daughters hairdresser to fake date to help get everyone off his back. What starts as a mutual beneficial arrangement becomes so much more and these two have a beautiful slow burn that is so fulfilling to read.
Being a hairdresser myself, I loved the accurate representation and thought it added such a fun flair to my reading experience!
I loved that Asher gave Sutton a place of belonging and felt that their connection was so real.
The side characters and crazy family antics made for a roller-coaster of a story but their love story made it complete!
I loved all the snippets for Theo and Ellie and I am dying to get my hands on their emotional story!

Bonus Points have to go to Adalyn, she just might be my favourite little person I've ever read. She's sassy and got such a spark and keeps her dad on her toes. Her one liners are hilarious and the fact that she does not care at all about hockey was so entertaining!
Thankyou Chelle for the opportunity to read this one early 🫶🏻
Y'all, Chelle did it AGAIN! 🙌 Asher and Sutton are such a fun, swoony pair. You've got a widowed hockey dad and a tired, hilarious single mom (hello, "Bang Queen" 💇♀️) who agree to fake date for totally practical reasons. Then it turns into a full-on "oh no, I'm in love" situation. 😍
Asher is the ultimate girl dad. 🥹 A six-foot-five defenseman with perfect hair who is so good with his sweet baby girl, Adalyn. And Sutton's son Maverick is so stinking cute! Watching these four become their own little family had me smiling the whole time. 🥰
The tuxedo scene?! The first kiss?! 🔥The game jacket fur Adalyn 😭 I never stood a chance either, Sutton!
The Easter eggs and cameos from some of our favorite Chelle characters had me grinning like a fool. 🤭 It felt like a little reunion with old friends!
If you love fake dating, single parents, hockey boys, and a good slow burn that hits you right in the feels, grab this one! It's a pairing nobody expected, but it's absolutely meant to be. 💜
