About the author

Tina Michele

Tina Michele is a Florida girl living on the banks of the Indian River Lagoon in the biggest small town on the Space Coast. She enjoys all the benefits of living in the Sunshine State. During the day, she pretends to do what they pay her for but really spends most of that time daydreaming and plotting some wild adventure. She graduated from the University of Central Florida with her BA in interdisciplinary studies—the most liberal of the liberal arts degrees—majoring in fine art and writing with a minor in women’s studies. To say she is motivated by her Right brain is a major understatement. Afflicted with self-diagnosed Sagittarian Attention Deficit Disorder, she spends a lot of time starting projects that she may, possibly, one day, probably finish. When she isn’t writing, playing, drawing, painting, or creating something of some sort, she feeds and waters the three dogs that are permanently tethered to her hindquarters.

**! hmmm it was a bit too detailed and long in the dialogue department plus i literally had to skip a few chunks of this storyline at time because some parts of it felt basically quite boring. I really do not like going all negative or being too harsh of a critic on this book and even when an author is trying to get their points across to us/readers and for us to give our opinions/reviews(honest) but we do have to tell it as we/readers view/read it sometimes...

Oh my. I had to check the author's profile convinced this book was written by a little old lady with a thesaurus.

The story is predictable. A woman with a past (Bree) moves home and falls (eventually) for the woman of her dreams (Carson) while she pursues a career and a new beginning working at the Vanderbilt estate.

I struggled to see this book through to the end. I almost gave up at a third and again halfway through. The author got caught up with over dramatic wording in situations that were frankly not that dramatic. At one point I had to reread a scene where Bree blows up at Carson and accuses her of verbally attacking her for a minor infraction. The emotional responses were blown all out of proportion to the events on page.

"Their eyes were locked in those moments, and Bree could see a heated passion that burned within them. It made her insides twist with excitement. She had felt a brief pang of disappointment when the guard drew her attention away from the approaching woman. Of course that was until the woman unleashed her barbarity." Location 581-583

Barbarity? Was this novel written in 1815 or 2015?
This over dramatization continued throughout the novel and turned a story with potential into an eye rolling read. Phrases like "haphazard coif", "self-flogging" and "suave grace" felt so dated they were laughable.
Some writers are accused of telling and not showing. In this novel, the author spends a lot of time telling what she has just shown. Every action by a character is followed up with how that makes that person feel or why they behaved the way they did. It got old really fast.

There were some positives in In the Cloud. I enjoyed the relationship Uncle Jim had with both Bree and Carson. The first time he called her his pet name Breezy was adorable. The various factoids about the Biltmore were interesting and the last third of the novel improved enough to keep me reading.

2 stars.

Unfortunately, I got stuck with this book on a long day with nothing else to do. It’s been sitting on my shelf for years and it’s pride month, so I figured I’d finally get to it...and this is probably one of the worst books I’ve ever read.

Bree returns to North Carolina two and half years after being abandoned by her wife. She is looking a fresh start and returns to her Uncle that raised her. She intends to work at the beloved museum she spent to much of her youth at.

Miss Michele is extremely knowledgeable by art and her surroundings. There are lots of details about the art and museum including information about a driveway. I like the many wonderful details that are in this story. I found it to be well written, technically sound with good flow and a very good plot line.

I like the plot in this book, it is a romance and does not try to be anything but that. While I enjoyed the story I did find it to be lacking a bit. The characters seemed passive and little flat. Despite being in her mid to late twenties Bree seems to be immature. There were a lot of little things here and there that made her seem much younger. Don't get me wrong, I did like the book, I simply wanted it to be more... Unfortunately I don't know what else it would need to fill that want. There is nothing wrong with the book. It is worth the read and the story is good. It was a bit of a letdown after such a wonderful debut novel.

This one really had my attention. And i was not wrong in knowing i would fall in love with it. It was just that kind of book that grabs at you till the very end. The love in it was so palpable i could no help but be engrossed in it. But also the pain that Bree had to go through for two years it was heart wrenching. But after going back home she found the one person who made her feel special who helped her learn how to love again. She finally understood what falling in love with some really was and how to mend a broken heart. Carson never understood wanting a long term relationship but the moment she met Bree she knew that she would do Anything for her. And till the end she gave her Anything she wanted. They knew that there would be love after the heart brake even after unexpected problems coming up they got thru it. Amazing book and one of my favorite ones.

I am always appreciative when I receive ARC of books but in this case I almost wish I hadn't. Suffice to say that one of the two stars above is a guilt star -- I just couldn't bring myself to give a book I received at no cost only one star.

They storyline of this book offers absolutely nothing that hasn't been done much, much better before.

Still we may have been able to reach a 3 for enjoyable familiarity if it wasn't for the over explaining of both location and emotion on every.single.page. Take out all the excess descriptors and the book would have struggled to make novella length at best.

I could keep going but I think you get the gist...about the only good thing I can say is that the cover is better than the book.

*sad face*

I really enjoyed this novel! I love the enemies to lovers trope and this book did not disappoint. I loved reading as the characters developed and as their love grew. Tina's writing was absolutely beautiful and I could not put the book down! Highly recommended this book to anyone to loves a lovely romance!
