An enjoyable Venetian romance with a ghost. The h is a German single lady, Lorena and the one Guido de Ventura loved. He died and appeared before her on December 1st. She thought he wanted to tell her something so she went back the Venice and met Enzo Guidos older brother and business partner at the hotel. Enzo and Lorena had a heart to heart and they both realized they were soulmates. There is a secondary romance and a comedic reaction.

This is a sweet Christmas romance set in a wintry Venice. Following the death of her former fiancee, Lorena returns to Venice. She meets Enzo, her fiancee's brother, and there is an immediate attraction. A series of misunderstandings have to be resolved, all provided with the author's usual sense of humour. I loved this romance, a lovely read for a lazy day.

Oh, what an adorable story! Lorena is happy with her life in Hamburg when, one night, she senses the presence of an old flame, Guido, around her. When she tries to contact him, she discovers he recently died and heads to Venice to learn if there was some kind of message he tried to convey to her at the time of his death. Her travels bring her Guido's brother, Enzo, now the manager of the family hotel, and she discovers Guido kept her photo on his desk, even though they'd broken up many years earlier. As she tries to figure out why Guido's ghost came to her, she falls in love all over again with the city where they met, and with the man she'd always heard was flighty and irresponsible. Filled with wonderful moments of humor and an ending that will leave your heart racing then melting, Venetian Tangle is a must-read, no matter what season!

I was lucky enough to receive an advance reader copy of this book. I've read other romances by Beate Boeker, and I like her mix of light humor with sweet, clean romance, so I wasn't disappointed with this one. It has the light humor, the sweet romance, and on top of that it has beautiful, evocative Venice, Italy. The setting is used wonderfully in this quick, romantic, holiday fun read, as the backdrop for this escapist fiction. You don't have to wait for Christmas to enjoy it!

Lorena gets a visit from her dead boyfriend, Guido, on the night he died and she decides to set out on a quest to figure out exactly what it was he wanted to communicate with her. Her quest leads her to Venice and Guido’s hotel where she gets more answers than she bargained for! Venetian Tangle is a charming story about unrequited love, letting go of the past, and having the courage to take chances in the future. It was an engaging read that was over WAY too fast, having me hooked until the very end. I loved the characters and the plot and highly recommend this book if you’re in the mood for a light, romantic read that’ll keep you engaged and entertained until the very end!

(I received a digital copy of in exchange for a fair and honest review. All of the above opinions are entirely my own.)
