New York Times Bestselling author! Boys and girls, what is more fun than playing Minecraft? Taking an adventure with Gameknight999 into the world you love!
Herobrine, the artificially intelligent virus, was deleted. The computer it resided in was completely destroyed. Without their leader, the few survivors of its evil army were cast away into the shadows. It looked as if there would finally be peace and happiness throughout the servers of Minecraft.
But suddenly, and mysteriously, software began misbehaving. Sheep fell from the sky. Snowballs appeared out of nowhere. What seemed at first like harmless glitches quickly became dangerous. Pigs begin walking backwards, it starts to snow in the middle of the desert, and sheep are falling from the sky.
Gameknight999, the User-that-is-not-a-user, has no choice but to investigate. But the odd yet harmless pranks are turning deadly, and it’s not long before entire villages are completely destroyed. Examining the arrogant clues, Gameknight is no longer so sure that Herobrine was destroyed after all. Is it possible he escaped? Everything points towards a deadly trap far worse than anything that Minecraft has seen before. Will Gameknight solve the puzzle before the Overworld is destroyed?

Mark Cheverton grew up in Southern California, going through high school, and college. After college, Mark taught high school physics and math for many years. While teaching, he earned a Master's degree in Physics and conducted research on planetary atmospherics. After moving to the east coast, he started doing research for a Fortune 100 company in the fields of machine vision and additive manufacturing. His first book, The Algae Voices of Azule, was released in 2012, followed by the sequel shortly after.
He recently released the first book in his Minecraft series, Invasion of the Overworld: A Minecraft Novel, which is expected to be followed by the sequel, Battle for the Nether, in early 2014.
It took me a bit to get into this one, however I did enjoy it very much. I love how the author describes everything, so well I can see it in my head. The book is so cinematic I barely realize the fact that I’m reading actual words and just see a movie in my head. I even turned on music during some scenes! The way that Mark Cheverton puts together these books is astonishing. I also have a sudden desire to play Minecraft after each reading session, which is a compliment at its fullest.
My only problem with not just this book but the whole series is the repetitiveness of the battles. The early-book battles are all the same to me: Gameknight has a defensive plan. It works. Only one monster is left alive. They question it. It gives away nothing and tries to attack Gameknight. It’s immediately killed. My only recommendation is to give the early battles some differentiating aspects.
Other than that, this book is amazing and I can’t wait for the next one! ❤️
I enjoyed this book because I love MINECRAFT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I also enjoyed this book because I liked the part when Gameknight999 destroyed Reaper the Skeleton King and Shaivalak. I also enjoyed this book because I liked the part when instead of lava and then water (Herobrine's plan for destroying all of the villages) there was sunflowers (Gamenight999's plan for saving all of the villages).
I really liked this book because I think the battle was very exciting and Gameknight999 defeated the spider queen and the skeleton king! I still wonder if Herobrine is still alive.
U should buy did book.It has a good background story and no matter how bad the characters are, you just want to route for them. Go GAMEKNIGHT!!!!!!!¡!!!!!!.!!!!!!!!!!
This story was better than the last few...or, at least more original. A threat other than hordes of monsters charging into TNT traps. The monster leaders were still disappointingly easy to trick and defeat, but at least there were a lot fewer typos. Anyway, the kids enjoyed it, which was the main thing.
