125 recipes for delectable baked goods from the Hamptons’ most beloved baker
Kathleen King has been famous for her chocolate chip cookies since she was a young girl--in fact, they were such a hit that selling them put her through college. Now, in Tate's Bake Shop Cookbook, she shares 100 new recipes.
Some of the recipes you’ll want to make again and again include:
There’s even a section with recipes for energy bars, granola, and other healthy treats that Kathleen—an avid outdoorswoman—developed for biking and hiking trips.
Every one of Kathleen's recipes is easy to make at home, built from scratch and refined through kitchen testing and taste-testing from Tate's customers. Perfect for beginners and equally appealing to experienced bakers for a time-tested taste of home, Tate's Bake Shop Cookbook is a delectable addition to the cookbook bookshelf.
I love these cookies! I have had the thrill of actually going to this bake shop out East on Long Island. My favorite was not the chocolate chip cookies, but those crisp delicious Sugar Cookies. Fortunately, it was a rare treat. Remember, them wrapped in plastic with a tie on top, and the minute I opened them, I ate all 12! Now I live in North Carolina and my dad shops in a store called the Fresh Market, and guess what, new cookies have arrived, and are right up next to the register, yes of course Tate’s. After, a couple binges, no more. I just love them too much.
Now, this book comes out, and now I can use it as an excuse for holidays or any other reason. The Sugar Cookies, I did not get as crisp. I rolled them, but only have 1 slippat. Some were crisper then other, but they were still delicious! Will definitely try again.
Love, this author b/c she makes delicious treats. She deserves all her credit. Recommend if you are on a sweet binge. If you have never had her cookies, you are in for a treat! My absolute favorites.

Let me just say it's not the recipes that are disappointing. They are fine. The disappointment is that there isn't ONE picture in the whole book except on the cover. Pictures are so important. You see with your eyes first. When you have things to look at it makes you more interested in making the recipes. It also give you an idea of how it should look when it's finished.
I have made several items from this cookbook and they were great. The chocolate chip cookies did not come out for me as crisp and thin as they do at their store and retailers. The chocolate cakes and cookies and bars were excellent.
Tate’s is one of the few commercial cookie brands that sells quality gluten free cookies. I was extremely disappointed to find out that not only are there zero GF cookie recipes included in this book, there isn’t even so much as a footnote included for making any kind of GF substitution.
125 home-style recipes, including the recipe for their signature chocolate chip cookies and sour cream cake. I have only made the healthy Rena's Sports Bars--simple and really good, but have several other recipes tagged to make.
I found this cookbook filled with recipes I could easily find elsewhere. However, I do admit that I haven't tried the famous chocolate chip cookies or anything else from Tate's (ran out of stomach space last time I was in New York; next time), so I'm already starting with a disadvantage.
