Salvation-A quaint little seaside town in the Pacific Northwest, population 325.
M.A.D-Mutually Assured Destruction, a phrase identifying the strategy that developing the most horrid of destructive weapons would guarantee they would never be used…it failed.
Newly designed horrific devices, deployed as a last resort during what started as a border war each have ripped thousands of feet of crust from the earth, pulverizing it with the debris creating a massive worldwide dust cloud that has blocked out the sun for thousands of years.
All plant life died…the herbivores followed then the predators. Without the production of oxygen in the oceans and on land, all sea life is dead and the air is slowly being depleted by the residual fires burning from suburbs of cities. The human population is decimated, and using up the last of the breathable air.
Desperate for food, many have turned to the depraved act of cannibalism, preying on anybody available.
Salvation having survived the crust shattering blasts, safe from the radiation by on shore breezes, struggles to survive every day, to decent to resort to cannibalism the people are slowly being weekend by starvation and the random attacks by the cannibalistic marauders.
Then one day, with hope long gone and food soon to follow, Daniel Harrison and his family arrive at the makeshift gates of Salvation bringing with them a plan of survival, not just for the small town but for the remnants of humanity.
