Mine to Fear
Waverly resents being sent home to Evando just as things are getting intense in Chardonia. She can't just sit in safety while her friends suffer under oppression and restrictions simply because they are women.
Upon returning to Chardonia, she discovers conditions have degraded faster than she thought possible, and her mere presence puts her loved ones in grave danger. When the Grand Chancellor calls for a change in laws that threatens the lives of her friends, her family, and anyone who doesn't comply, her only option is to run, with both friend and foe.
As the stakes grow higher with each passing day, Waverly must become the leader she's never been, or her life, and the lives of all those she cares for, will be lost.

I know..after the last book it didn’t sound too hopeful that I’d be reading more so soon, but after the cliffhanger, I couldn’t help myself.
This is waverleys book and it was a welcome change to read about an evadi character rather than a chardonian. So waverly was ordered back to evado at the end of the previous book, but it’s not long before she’s back in chardonia. However, she doesn’t arrive alone. Tawny, zades ex fiancé goes along for the ride, that was before she knew about Serena. Juicy stuff.
A new story brings with it a new love interest. It was never going to be Chadwick, poor guy. But it was obvious that something was stirring between her and jack. I liked that their feelings weren’t clear straight away, and there was some animosity between the two of them. It made for a more interesting read compared to Cynthia and lukas who were bordering instalove.
This book has given me a new found love for waverly, she’s by far my favourite of the women, she’s sarcastic and doesn’t take any shit from warlocks.
However the book had some negative aspects. The biggie being it got pretty boring just after half way. It was mainly just focused on training the women for a rebellion and pointless conversation, which unfortunately was also the case in the previous book but for pretty much the entire thing. It did pick up again though towards the end so it redeemed itself a little.
Ah it started off so well. I wanted to give it a nice big 4 stars but it downgraded to a 3 when it was packed with unnecessary filler material. Though It was salvaged by the excitement of the rebellion, the growing love between waverly and jack and of course the ever developing characters and world. All in all, better than the last book but nowhere near as good as book one.
On that note, I’m off to start a reading challenge and will probably return to the series when I’m finished up with that.

This series takes a very dark turn in Mine to Fear. Things are not going well, and I'll warn you, the story arc does not end well. We do have a fairly decent HEA for the romance side, but the realm Chardonia is in chaos and it only gets worse.
The people of Envado are trying desperately to change things, and they are losing the battle. The Grand Chancellor is taking the country in hand by making drastic and severe changes that puts the lives of many at risk. It's scary, very scary, and you don't see much light at the end of the tunnel.
Waverly finds herself caught up in the war as she tries to free her friends from the tyranny of the Grand Chancellor and his friends that are determined to keep women and magic under the control of a very select male population. There's a lot to read between the lines here, and it was done very well.
My biggest complaint, and Mine to Fear may have gotten 5 stars without this, is the editing. There were some areas that were quite poorly done and it really did take away from my ability to just read the story. But it is one hell of a story.

Wow! That was a huge disappointment! I think, the author should have stopped at book two or used the third book to give an end to everything! I knew that things would get a little bit bad on the story, but not thaaaaat bad! The whole story is full of disgrace and tragedy! Nothing works well till the end! The hope is almost zero! It was suffocating to read this book! Even the romance, didn't bring a good feeling! And I'm not feeling curious to read the sequel.

My least favorite of the series. Lots of typos just like the previous books and the story didn't feel as strong. On to book 4 now, I hope it doesn't disappoint

In terms of action and story movement, much better than then the first two. There is a real issue in Chardonia that I feel like I could rally behind. The problem is that the love story feels forced. I enjoy this series so much, and I absolutely cannot wait to read the last one (I have it loaded up on my kindle) but the quality of originality that made the first one so good seems to be missing from this one. It is better than the second, but not as good as the first.

we begin with Waverly who is Zade's sister. Zade sent his sister home to protect her against all the things that are happening in Chardonnia. Unfortunately for Waverly she doesn't feel the same . She wants to help all the women there. The women who are oppressed, not to be able to use there own magic. Also they are so used to being abused for breeding only. Always being Hexed by the warlocks for no reason. When Waverly gets home, she feels she has changed. No longer viewing the mundane things she use to do as valid. Her. Even her parents have noticed the drastic change in her. While she is home and safe , but still very unhappy. Waverly father asks to speak to her . He says to her "you are unhappy here. you have our permission to go back to Chardonnia," One condition is that Chadwick is to protect her. Waverly is extremely happy. She goes to her bedroom and begins to pack. Knowing she will leave in two days to help Zade. When all of a sudden she receives company. Someone she doesn't expect at all. Tawny Zade's ex fiancé, she hasn't seen her since Zade broke the engagement. Tawny asks where she is going , then out of the blue . Tawny says I'm going too. Waverly shocked she says it is to dangerous for you Princess Tawny. The Princess will not take no for an answer. So she goes off to pack.
Waverly sat there wondering what will Zade say, and Serena how will she take it knowing the princess was Zade ex fiancé. I enjoyed this book very much . It keeps you interest in the women plight and the romances that begin with the different characters. I Highly recommend this series

This is the third book in this series and it gets better. This book is about Waverly and her struggle to help the people of Chandonia to become free from the rule of a egomaniacal Grand Chancellor. You feel that you are family to the characters and wish only the best for them, in fact you’d fight to if you could. Two bright spots were the birth of Serena and her sisters new sister and finally a brother, the other one was Waverly falling in love. I found my self hissing at the bad guys and yelling encouragement to the good guys. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, I’m off to read the next one.

I’m enjoying the continuation of this story going through the, almost, main characters from the first story.
As it is written in first person though there is no much about the main characters, which I was disappointed with.
Still, a good read.

The grammar is horrible! Makes it difficult to read the book. I like the story though. That's why I bought the books.

Not my favorite book in the series. I see others review it as "dark," but I would say more political, which, yeah, not my favorite. I read to escape the politics constantly on social media. I don't think it does well as a stand-alone book, it certainly needs a little more resolution if it were. I actually kind of like that it didn't end with the typical "happy ending," because there are losses in life, but I'm hoping it ends well in book 4.

I am amazed at Janeal's ability to write you into loving a character over and over again. With each of these books I've worried I won't like the next character as much as the last and I have been surprised every time. Not to mention the amazing amount of emotion she emits with her story. Mine to Fear is truly a gem and I am so anxious to read the others in this series. I am so impressed!

Love & the struggle for freedom
After the third book all these characters have become family...you feel their pain, rejoice their joys, which are few and far between. What more can these poor people in Chardonia go through...
This book is Waverly's ... Her struggles in helping the people Chardonia, and her would be love. And when it comes to her love one should remember hate is not the opposite of love, but indifference is.
As I said love the characters, they're believable. I love the storyline and it kept my interest.
How all the characters have grown since Mine To Tarnish, book 1 of the series. The strength of the ladies are amazing, considering they're treated worse than pets (and has anyone notice there's no cats and dogs in the books).
Spoiler would let you know how the do with the rebellion & what happens with Waverly's and her love....and not everyone makes it out of this book alive and there's a lot of things left to figure out.
And if took three books but Serena & the girls' mom has a name.

Mine To Fear is the 3rd book in the You Are Mine series by Janeal Falor. I really liked this book and was not disappointed! The book is written from Waverly’s point of view and the setting takes place at the height of political unrest for Chardonia and the women who live there. With the help of others, Waverly firmly leads a group of supporters to try and overthrow those who threaten the lives of their friends and family. This was a great read and left me wanting to read the 4th book, Sacrifice of Mine right away!

February 24, 2017I know these books are predictable and riddled with basic grammatical and continuity errors... but I can't stop reading. I've always been a sucker for finishing a series. If you are like me and can't stop halfway through a series then take my advice and don't start this one unless you can ignore poor editing and plot development.

Better than book 2, but is very sad. The editing issues continue and are a bit of a distraction for me.
