David McCullough tells the story-behind-the-story of 2 brothers illuminating the world about flying machines - Wilbur and Orville Wright. Two-time winner of the Pulitzer Prize, the author is a master in writing narrative history.
This book is for people who are in need of a not so self-help-like book but can really push them to the extent of their optimism. A fancy read for children because of the touch adventure in stored, bicycle and aviation mechanics and experiments. The story of building a plane, watching birds all day, cracking the code of aeronautics by balmy yet very bright brothers and changing the world.
The way McCullough wrote this piece left a great image for the Wright Brothers. They are people who are modest and never boastful—the kind of people everyone should look up to. Ordinary brothers with great minds started from scratch and ended up with a phenomenal history.

It’s hard to quantify how much time and effort this short book will save students of McCullough’s original work. It succinctly and clearly summarizes the main points (as well as many details) of the book. Highly recommended.

The summary and analysis of the brother’s family background, social life, inspiration for the original glider, and the road in general to Kitty Hawk is intelligent and concise. It’s written very well and can be a life saver for anyone unable to sort through McCullough’s 350 page original work!

Nice prelude.

Great way to start the book, gave a basic understanding on the background of the brothers, and what inspired them to pursue the dream.

Author needs to take English 101

Writer verges on illiteracy. If you are annoyed by poor use of the language give this one a wide birth
