Empathy #1-3

The Empathy series Box set

Rate this book
This is the entire Empathy series including, Empathy, Desolate, Vacant and Deadly. This is a dark romance series...read with caution.

Blake:
I am a brother
I am a police detective
I am a contract killer
I don’t want to love
I don’t want to feel
I don’t want … EMPATHY.

They say some people are born with decreased activity in the front central lobe causing them a deficiency in empathy. Maybe that’s true about me but whether I was born this way or created in a moment of evil, empathy was something I didn’t possess until her green eyes met mine in the mirror and I couldn’t take her life.
I didn’t want to feel, didn’t want this woman in my life complicating how I lived but she was there at every turn. Sent to haunt me for my sins. Her light so bright she provoked a shadow from everyone she touched. When a job turns bad quickly altering my life forever I’m forced to feel. When nothing is making sense I’m forced to face truths I never would recover from. When life drowns you in its cruelty you don’t know which way the current will drag you or who you’ll become once you re-surface.

Book #1 - Empathy - 4 ⭐️

“I’m mute, struggling to deal with these emotions crashing into me; it’s like my feelings are waking up after being dormant. The rush confuses and terrifies me. I don’t want to give them access but my system is being rebooted with a virus I don’t have the firewall to protect myself from. It’s just flooding in, seeping into my bones, my blood, my mind, my heart.”
- Damian Blake

Book #2 - Desolate - 4.5 ⭐️

“I cannot feel the warmth or comfort others claim to feel from someone loving them, and for once in my life I actually envy them, I want to feel this thing called love that must be something powerful because everyone longs for it, searches for it and would die for it. I think I can, in some small form, understand it for once in my life, even if I can’t feel it.”
- Ryan

Book #2.5 - Vacant - 4 ⭐️

“I’m suffocating under the weight of my own battle with who I am now. So much time has passed but the longing to be back in his existence is as fresh as an open wound, bleeding out my soul as an offering.”
- Cereus

Book #3 - Deadly - 3.5 ⭐️

“It kills me to think of her in a place like that but what’s the alternative? Let her keep killing people? It’s selfish of us to ignore what’s she’s done. Those people have mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters who will never see them again because of our daughter. I love her no matter what she’s done and I want to save her.”

EMPATHY
“When the sun sets, you can’t hold on to the dying light as the darkening shadow approaches. You either hide from it or become it. I can’t make excuses, you know them all anyway. I’m not a perfect person, not good enough for you by a long shot. I have done some horrible s*** and witnessed evil in its truest form but you awoke a side of me I didn’t know existed anymore. You reassembled a part of me I thought disintegrated into dust.” - Blake
Prepare yourself to have your mind blown. The story is crazy, twisted, gritty, raw, erotic and so amazingly good!
It centers around three people, Ryan, Blake and Melody. Ryan and Blake are brothers. Ryan is a college student and Blake is a contract killer/police officer, and the older of the two. Melody is also a college student, born in a privileged family.
The double murder of Melody’s parents, her accidental meeting with their killer, her brother’s lack of grief over the deaths of his parents and his unscrupulous effort to gain his inheritance, all these make her so vulnerable and lonely. Her life will never run smoothly again.
Ryan and Blake’s presence is a consolation to her. They are both two damaged and dangerous men. Blake has no emotions, no care, no empathy. He is spurred to action only by his self-interest; he is arrogant, cocky, self-assured and aggressive. He runs a double life, between raw evil and lawful normalcy. He’s overprotective over his younger brother and is willing to sacrifice everything in order to offer him an easy life. Ryan seems to be really clever and calm but also unbalanced and weird.
These two guys are going to change Melody’s life forever. But, who’s really the victim, who’s the freak and who’s the survivor?
I loved the characters; they felt so realistic that it was somewhat scary. Blake and Ryan appeared to be slightly creepy and confusing. The triple POV made me love being inside the mind of people who are fighting different types of demons and understand the depraved thoughts and needs of these troubled heroes. This tale was suspenseful, mysterious and lightly dark. The erotic scenes were pleasantly graphic and VERY.VERY.SEXY!
The twists and turns were riveting and my enthusiasm stayed till the end.

These men are going to mess with your mind, but you’ll enjoy every minute of it!

DESOLATE
Ryan…what a scary psycho!
This second installment of the Empathy series was dark, twisted, violent, degrading – not an ounce of sweet love, passionate romance.

It’s the story of Ryan’s release from the psychiatric clinic where he was being held and the consequences of his voidness and thirst for blood. The story focuses on Ryan’s twisted mood, thinking and behavior because of his mental disorder and on his plan to approach and hurt Blake, Melody and Cereus, his niece. Will he be able to turn his life around? Suffering, sorrow, heartbreak, misery, desolation … Will Ryan be able to emerge from the bleak and desolate midnight of his inhuman existence?

Ryan’s obsessive feelings for blood, death, dirty sex and his weird definition of justice and revenge make him a really creepy and horrifying character!
If you are into the darker reads this is one fine plot. I do have some reservations though. It took a long time for me to get really connected and involved with the new characters.
Sadly this didn't meet what I expected. It was well written but I felt something missing. I liked though how the characters from the first book fight with their own demons on a daily basis.

I would definitely recommend it to those who love a darkly captivating story that will shock you every step of the way.

VACANT
Cereus knows Ryan is a monster. She knows what he’s capable of and she’s not afraid of him. On the contrary, she feels connected to him in the weirdest and darkest ways. Her rage and twisted mind slowly unleashe a monster. The horrors in her mind have unfolded, unleashing something far too sinister.
Cereus and Ryan find order in chaos, their minds find a connection.

The distance between them is trifling. Cereus is like having dark inner voices whispered by her uncle. Ryan’s craving for blood and death is as been accepted by a person similar to him, a killer like him! His sadistic and cruel nature is mirroring with Cereus’ aggressive and disturbing behavior, and she feels it, too.

When Cereus is in need, he goes to her, he stands by her and absorbs her insanity and pain by offering her the comfort she needs by relating to her dark soul’s vacancy.

This series is dark, brutal and terrifying. Totally messed up! I love a book that makes you think when you finish reading it and this one definitely does this.

DEADLY
Cereus has become insatiable for blood and death, an unstoppable and untreatable predator whose violence is planned, purposeful and emotionless - poised to disappear into the immense darkness.
Cereus has become coolly, briskly confident and toys with the vulnerability of others. Evil and darkness are all around her.

Emotional abnormality. “Shallow” feelings. Fleeting emotions. Full force rage and envy. No remorse, no guilt. Her sociopathic behavior is the recipe for endless cruelty and depravity.
Throughout the book, there is a constant feeling of danger and death. Dark, gritty and mind-trippy, Deadly seduces the reader into the mind and mixed emotional state of a sociopath struggling with her own feelings because the world she knows is built on violence and death.
The author did such a great job with the delivery. The storyline was a bit complicated, with the narration jumping between recent past and present. Personally, I struggled whether I should love or hate those crazy heroes. It’s been a sick psychotic journey that left me drained and emotionally exhausted.
There are so many great things about this book but I don’t want to spoil anything. Captivating and a complete mind-warp, this was a great story that I give a definite thumbs up!!

These books were everything!!
It’s dark and twisted, and jam packed with so much that I don’t wanna go into too much detail.
Both brothers Ryan and Blake I completely fell for. They both have darkness in them which albeit is crazy and so dark I just couldn’t help my pull towards them both.
And then we have melody who is that light to their darkness that they both couldn’t stay away from. But she’s so strong I fell for her just a bad as they did.
These books have so many twists and turns you just don’t which way is up or which way is down and i completely loved them!!

I loved The Empathy series, it's dark, dangerous and twisted.

Empathy

Many of my favorite reads fall into the dark and dangerous genre. Empathy is not only dark and dangerous but also twisted and deprived.

Melody is a college student with a bright future from a good family. She hasn't made any friends until she comes across an intriguing, egotistical and broody Ryan.

"I wear black because I happen to look good in black. I don't look at people often because when I do, chicks think I want to f... them and guys think i want to fight them. I don't talk to people because its rare I find anyone worth engaging in conversation."

Melody soon meets Blake after running into him, literally. He comes off as a jerk however they have an attraction to each other.

We learn about Blake and Ryan's tragic past that has negatively molded them both. That's what we led to believe, sneaky and well written. Kur Dukey does a good job keeping the truth well hidden.

Melody is summoned home for a family meeting. She decides to drive and arrives late at night to find her family home ajar and revealing a tragedy. As soon as she's is able to leave Melody heads back to college so she does not have to deal with her brother.

When at college Melody begins to adjust. Blake has become obsessed with Melody and begun
stalking her before he was assigned to her case.

"When your story is written on a piece of paper and that paper gets crumpled up and thrown into a shredder you can piece the tatters back together although the damage remains. So does your story, you just have to continue to write even if the paper isn't perfect."

Melody does breakdown one rainy evening and Ryan is there eerily watching however Blake comes to the rescue and helps her feel again. Blake also begins to feel again because of Melody.

The ending brings an unexpected twist. We discover the truth and its a doozy. If you enjoy dark and twisted stories put this on your list.

Desolate

I would like to start this review with the best warning I’ve read to date, “If sensitive to graphic violence and mastermind f*ckery, this title is not for you so please don’t read.” With that warning I jumped right in and enjoyed the ride.

‘Desolate’ is a dark, dangerous wild ride! It’s been 18 years since Empathy took place. Blake has let the light over take his darkness. He’s happily married to Melody and has a daughter. Ryan has been in an psyche ward and is being released because he has manipulated his Doctor. Ryan has no soul, he’s desolate. He’s one scary, manipulative, anti-hero. Cereus is an interesting character, she's is like Ryan except she has feelings that keep her out of the shadows. Ryan, if he knows it or not, has developed feelings for her. This is truly a dark tale that keeps you turning the pages.

Vacant

"I rather live and strive amongst the sinner than fade and die amongst the saints."

Holy freakin cow! I can't believe what I just read! It's dark and scary. Ryan is back and has returned for Cereus. Cereus isn't fitting into college and doesn't want to try. She misses Ryan and finds herself being pulled into the darkness.

You have to read this quick story to understand Ryan and Cereus's relationship. It on a much deeper, darker level. Cereus has a surprise of her own.

Deadly

This series is very dark, twisted and deadly. It gave me goose bumps.

Ryan is hollow and vacant of emotions, his life changed when he met Cereus. Cereus is his everything and she worships him in return. Ryan wants to teach her how to control her urges but it maybe too late. Cereus out of control and Ryan struggles to keep her safe.

Ryan is warped! He almost has me believing that he and Cereus are just misunderstood, that they are different and not just evil. I started to develop empathy for the characters, even though they took joy in deadly sins.

"...Show him your kind of fun Cereus."

I found the ending unexpected, I need more Ryan. He still intrigues me. Ryan stayed true to himself till the very end. If you like your stories dark and twisted this is for you. I love it. Ker Dukey leaves me wanting more every time.

This is the complete series all in one boxset and you are really in for a ride with these books.

Dark, suspenseful and totally utterly brilliant, this read will have you hooked from the first page. Ker has a way of writing that will have you engaged and wanting more.

Starting off with Empathy, OMG this book is a serious head f**k, I loved reading it, it's one of those books that has you stuck right to the very end.

Blake sexy Blake, a police detective, contact killer and a devoted brother to Ryan. He is cold hearted, does not feel remorse and doesn't care about anything but his brother Ryan until he meets Melody.

The sweet sweet Melody such a tragic event, she just wants to get lost. She's friends with Ryan, and literary bumps into Blake.

The chemistry in this book is so hot, the sex is sizzling.

I really didn't see the story turning out the way it did.

Ker Dukey I must say that this is one of the best books that I have read, it's incredible.

It has everything you can want from a read, from twists, emotional, sizzling sex, sexy men, deragement and very very dark.

Next we have Desolate, and we continue on from Empathy.
We catch up with Melody, eighteen years after the events of Empathy. Living her life with Blake and now has a child. The horrors are still in her nightmares. Life is good for them and they really don't realise what is coming.

Ryan is locked up in the mental ward after what he did to them both. He knows how to play the doctors at their own games. He makes them believe that he is no longer a danger to society, and wraps a nurse around his little finger with his charm and good looks. He looks forward to his release into the world

He finds out that Blake and Melody are married and have a teenage daughter. Setting his sights on their daughter Cereus. He has plans to follow and gain knowledge about everything about this girl. This is not done in a sexual way, but in a Ryan sort of way.

This is another fantastic read, that keeps you on the edge of your seat. A delicious dark fanf**kingtastic read.

Vacant

This third book follows on from book two, this is on twisted, dark, mind f**cking read.

After Blake and Melody tried their hardest to keep them apart, Ryan and Cereus are together, but not in the romantic sense, but still in a dark way. They seem to understand each other. They are drawn into each others dark worlds.

Cereus is now at college, trying to be normal in this world. Thinking she has lost Ryan. She tries to do what is best and knows that her family don't understand her grief for the monster that was Ryan, but fails when bullies hound her all the time.

She seems to snap, but is unaware of her actions.

This read is alot darker and touches on a subject that can be very real in this real world.

Lastly we have Deadly, we are back in the world of Ryan and Cereus. Which is filled with more blood and monsters. Nightmares that follow Cereus into her waking world.

Disappearing with her uncle, they travel only staying in places for a short time, before moving on with new identities. Ryan has the help of Cereus's father Blake, which is hidden from Cereus.

Set in a now and then read, we follow them and the events that happen.

This series is one to read and a dark, intense one at that.

This was the second series I read by Ker Dukey. Let me just say that Ker BLEW me away with the Empathy series. These books were written to perfection. Not many authors can write a book about some deranged characters and hold the interest of the reader. I was hooked throughout each and every book. I swear, I began to question the author’s sanity but then I realized the sanity I should be questioning is my own, for craving more of the psychotic little shit that is RYAN.

These books had it all. They were sexy, twisted, and suspenseful. They had me at the edge of my seat.

LOVE. These books had it, but not in a normal way we’re all so used to reading about. The love that Blake and Melody shared was beautiful. The love that Blake had for his brother was shown in a very strange way but it was also beautiful. And the love that Ryan……

WAIT! Ryan doesn’t love anything or anyone, or so he says. That is what fascinated me about his character. I wanted to know everything about him, of course from a safe distance. Why couldn’t he love? Why was his mind wired differently from everyone else?

Why Why Why????

I know the majority of you are #TeamBlake and he’s great, but RYAN.

Ryan is in his own crazy league.
With Desolate, I had a chance to be inside his head longer. He made me laugh half the time with the things he would say. He made me feel for him, had me hoping for a chance for him to feel something other than emptiness or anger. And I did notice a change in him when he was around Cereus. I don’t want to say much about what went on in these stories because I don’t want to give anything away.
With Vacant and with Deadly. Ker turn the twisted game up a notch. The relationship that Ryan & Cereus shared had me “Literally” at the edge of my seat. I was excited, nervous and anxious. Wondering what on earth was Ker doing with these two.
(Ryan & Cereus)
Hoping that she wouldn’t cross a very delicate line, but yet, I really wanted her to cross it.
But the way she handled certain situations had my heart beating at a normal rate.
The ending to this series felt bittersweet. Only because the more time she gave us with these characters the more I want from them.
But I can honestly say, the way she finished off Deadly left me somewhat at peace. At peace, and hoping one day Ker will give us a little more.
If you’re in the mood for a dark, sexy, twisted, mind f***, romance series. This is it. Go lose yourself in Blake & Ryan and in Melody & Cereus.

*******Empathy*****I was hooked from the start it's a twisted story of love and betrayal I don't know how to put this Book review into words with out giving to much away it's just WOW as with all Kers books I loved this one it's dark it has some good twists this book was a total mind **** and at the end I was like what the hell it has blown me away.

******Desolate****** It starts 18 years later after the events of Empathy Blake and Melody are trying to live a normal life with their daughter Cereus they have never told her about her Uncle Ryan and hide some of the truth from their pasts from her.
Then Ryan gets released from Psych hospital where he was put 18 years earlier everyone believes he is a changed man and now believe he can lead a normal life But as we know Ryan he can manipulate to make them think that he is this changed man... But he knows about Cereus .... what happens well you will have to read it to find out but it is filled with twists and turns such a great book from start to finish.

*****Vacant***** I totally Love this series Ryan is one messed up guy and I am sick in the head because I just fall for him every time this is a great Novella where Cereus is off to collage trying to live her life. But can she ever just have a normal Life with Ryan still in the background and is always watching out for her? You have to read to find out.

*****Deadly**** AMAZING ENDING I can't say to much with out spoilers but for me it was the only ending for this series it could have gone one of 2 ways and I am so glad Ker didn't go there cause maybe in the Future Ryan and Cereus might have more to tell us (wishful hoping).

Ker you gave them the perfecting Ending in my eyes cause to me.

Ker thank you for sharing Ryan and the gang with us.

Love, there are several kinds, Familial love, romantic love, and the love you feel for friends... close to familial. The question here is what would you do for the ones you love. I mean truly love? This is a dark route into one man love both familial and romantic and the lengths that he will go to protect those he loves.
Dark and erotic this series will have you breathing fast and keep you at the edge of your seat with what dangers lurk around the corner. How far will he go. Passion, in the end passion the thing that drives the characters in this series. Passion for the darkness. Passion for those they love. Passion for you to keep reading and wanting more!

The Empathy Box Set.

Where to start.... I guess the beginning...

The story starts with Blake.. a cop who is a secret hit man, making large amounts of money to provide a good life for him and his brother Ryan, a boy who was abused by his father and struggles to make a connection with other people until he meets Melody is class. Melody’s life is turned upside down when her parents are both murdered and this is where this fantastic storyline takes off! I was gripped by every twist and turn and had to keep reading...

Throw in a sprinkling of dark desire and secrets that can tear lives apart and this is the result... things I couldn’t imagine were at the turn of the page and my inner sick bitch loved it!!

By the time I had devoured Empathy i found the book to be a perfect length, I didn’t feel as if the story was rushed, neither was it dragged out, and it ended in a way that I was so glad I had the box set so I could jump straight into the next book!

Desolate,

I never felt as though I wanted more for a character until I read Ryan’s story, even where he is during this part made me want more for him, no matter how sick and twisted he was I found myself trying to justify it in my mind, he absolutely captivated me and as the story progressed my sick mind and I wanted his happy ever after!

I pages were easily turned and the words swallowed quickly, I finished this book in a day and was easily moving onto book 3,

For me, this box set was ALL about VACANT (Book 3)

To recognise the loneliness, the feeling of never fitting in, the need to find others like you... I can’t express how this book made me feel... how I was desperate for the characters to find each other and how happy I was when they actually did. Perverse? Maybe, but exactly what I wanted!

This series is by far one of my favourites, and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes a little darkness, a little suggestive perversion, and enjoying what should be taboo!

Feed your inner darkness with this box set and you won’t regret it!!

Book 1
This book was wicked fun to read! Melody is a sweet, unassuming college kid that has a pretty simple, easy life. Then BAM her parents are murdered and she finds herself entangled in a romance with a guy who can’t be further from her ideal. He’s dark, broody, and somehow becomes smitten with her. He just so happens to be cop, as well as the brother of her classmate that she may or may not have been slightly smitten with.

This book has a lot jammed into it, and I’m not going to spoil the plot in any way. The sex is hot AF in this book. It’s dark and twisted in all the right ways. I like the romance between the hero and the heroine. It’s wild and passionate and animalistic…pure perfection.

That epilogue though! Whew!!! Bring on book 2 immediately!

Book 2

Well daaaaaamn! I absolutely loved this one. The romance is very very limited, but the storyline is so engrossing. If you've read book 1, you might know where this one is going.

Ryan's back and I love how twisted he is! I love that this author doesn't hold back on portraying the reality of how his mind works.

Gimme the twists and turns! I love it!

Book 3
I’m loving this story that this author is giving us! This little novella took a fun, twisted turn that I absolutely expected but was still thrilling to read. It’s hints at a taboo nature, but nothing happens on the page.

Cereus is quickly discovering that she and Ryan are more a like than she’d previously imagined. She’s slowly, slowly fading into the darkness, letting it consume her. And Ryan’s antics are always fun on page. He’s so deviant, so twisted, and his scenes always have me shaking my head at his antics.

That being said, I’m loving the dark theme of this series and I’m so happy that at finally read it!

Fantastic series!!

This is an amazing series. I read these books individually a while ago but I refreshed myself with the box set.
I just loved Ryan I know he's twisted and efffed up, but I'm just drawn to him. I'm a villain lover.

Ryan has been looked after by his Brother Blake for most of his life. Blake knows there's something terribly wrong with his brother he's just not like everyone else.
He sees the darkness within him. The dead behind his eyes. But he overlooks it because he loves him. Ryan isn't capable of love. He doesn't feel empathy he harbours a dangerous monster.
It's just a matter of time before he unleashes it.

This series will draw you in and keep you engrossed. It's full of WTF moments as well as twist and turns.
If you like your story's a little on the dark side full of tragedy and violence then this is for you.
I Bloody loved it.

Disturbing

This review is difficult. It is, to say the least, disturbing. The first story in the series is a love story, albeit disturbing. The twist, thankfully, made it a bit less so. The other books while touching on the continued story of Melody and Blake was more about criminal insanity.
This series will not give you warm fuzzies. So if that is what you are looking for don’t read, or at least stop at the first one. The series beyond the second one is bloody, suspenseful and.....disturbing. It is, however, an extremely well written series. It is what it is and cane with a warning. Some authors give a warning to suck readers in and then leave you wondering what the warning was about. This one is true to the warning.
I cannot say I truly enjoyed it, but had to rate it on its quality. Would I read it again or something like it? No

FUCKING AMAZING!!!!!! One of the best stories I’ve read.
A trip to the other side where feelings like love and empathy acquire a darker tint, where piety and conscience don’t exist.
Blake is a cop and a contract killer who takes care of his little brother Ryan.
Melody is a classmate of Ryan who, when she comes back to her parents house, finds them brutally murdered.
Ryan is a psychopath unable to feel anything for anyone, not even for his brother. Charmer, attractive, intelligent, he will hook you.
Cereus is a sociopath who is able to feel love for her family, she is unable to form bonds with others and has uncontrollable homicidal impulses.
They all make this story gets you, you will not be able to stop reading, they will make you heart beat so fast that it feels it’s about to jump out your chest.

Never have I ever.....

......Read a book so dark and so intense. OMG this was sick sick sick. I thought I had read it all till this book. It kept getting crazier and crazier. I read the box set in one go and it was so intriguing I couldn’t stop till the end. I gave up sleep just to get to the end of it and even then I still crave more craziness

Ryan was pure psychopath, Blake has his demons but was made into what he became courtesy of his psychopath brother and dysfunctional family, Mel was just caught up with the crazies and Cereus was the craziest of them all.

Ker Dukey can do no wrong in my eyes and I love her books. Don’t know why it took me so long to read this but It’s a must read. A dark intriguing book. Well worth the read

The Inner Evil

Are we all born with an inner evil or does it grow? Poor Blake and Mel have gone through so much in their lives. When they finally thought all was good the shit hits the perverbial fan. They're life was going food, had some issues with their daughter and being a teenager who hasn't. But things get worse when Blake's evil brother gets released from the mental institution and finds Cecerus. Bad goes to worse and we have major problems thanks to poor guidance from Ryan.
Such a good story and will highly recommend it to everyone. Bug it's dark and not for the faint of heart. But a good love story is also in it.

Wow.. this series is beautifully dark and twisted. If you love a read that's twisted read this! It's full of twists and turns. I loved how Blake and Melodys relationship blossomed. Ryan is a messed up monster and Ker dukeys writing skills perfect his character. And when you get to meet Ceresus you'll definately fall in love with a character who you will question yourself about your feelings.
I was sad to see this series finish

Depravity at its darkest and finest!!

Ker Dukey has delivered yet again!! I swear this author is the dark half of my reader soul!! I know I shouldn't be so drawn to her dark, horrifying works but I am and I'm not ashamed to say this series will leave you lost, confused and begging for more!!

Dark and disturbing

Just wow, fantastic story from beginning to end. Characters written to perfection. The emotional turmoil is written just right whilst the grizzly murders are just graphic enough to from a mental picture.Definitely a page turner with very strong scenes and dark content.
Would I recommend, double yup!

This series was the first Ike I have read from Ker Dukey. Very dark and at times almost too much for me. I absolutely had to finish it though needing to see how it ended. I learned a lot about these kinds of personality traits. Made me think.

Wow. This shit was twisted. I mean, some serious depraved shit. And I loved it. You know those disclaimers that tell you 'it's not for the faint of heart.' Yep. That fits this perfectly. Definitely need a strong stomach...or an open mind! Fabulous though!

This is a series compose of 4 books. I just read the first 2 books and decided that I was done with this. I like the story of Blake and Melody. Other than that, the rest of the character are a bit overwhelming for me.

So many feels?

So I read these books in days, swept up in the psycho drama and couldn't be happier. Who's to say someone born with a cold spot cannot love? I understand Dukey poignant end and will likely have nightmares but, these books are AMAZING!
