“Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in.” Author of Undiscovered Gyrl, Allison Burnett, inspired me to quote Michael Corleone, after reading the sequel novella “Another Girl” because… yes….. I was pulled right back into the addictive world of the internet and of Katie Kampenfelt. This sequel is only 138 pages in length; but, it is a power house of emotions that leaves the reader breathless, confused, intrigued and conflicted, all at the same time
As in Undiscovered Gyrl, the format is genius in its own unique way. The followers of her blog are communicating with the main character by emailing her. Most emails go unanswered, but in one case in particular, it is reciprocated. Thus begins a journey into the life of yet another young, intelligent, complicated and troubled girl. The reader is, also, reintroduced to an older and seemingly more mature Katie/Amy. Will the readers of the sequel get closure? Will their questions be answered? I guess you will just have to read “Another Girl” to find out. It’s worth the ride.

I've just finished reading this book, it is very short, I bough it today and I read it in a couple of hours but it is all worth the money I played for it.
If you're reading this just to find some answers, don't do it.

My brain is working hard trying to figure out what happened at the end , but mostly if there really is a connection between this book and the first one. I actually think the end it's pretty clear, and thinking about it scares the he'll out of me.
I wonder if Elle was talking to Dave or just to some creep who rapes/kills lonely girls after he gained their trust
I wonder if Elle is alive, and now I wonder if Katie is.

I was taken with Katie Kampenfelt from the second I picked up Undiscovered Gyrl. I loved Burnett's ability to write a character who was so realistic, raw and funny, I didn't want her story to end. So I was extremely excited to see Another Girl come out, and let me say, it didn't disappoint. This novella jumps right in with a dark edge that will have you speed reading till the end. Burnett has a spooky ability to blur the lines between fiction and reality, playing tricks on your mind throughout. A very dark thriller, with an honest message about human connection and social media.

Totally freaking brilliant-but what else do we expect from the amazing Allison Burnett? Totally fulfilling in an unfulfilling way-it is perfection. He's done it again!

It honestly confuses me how a middle-age man manages to write from a young girls perspective so well. Kinda makes me what to think it's not actually fiction.... joking. Maybe :/
Anyways, this was a solid sequel. Not as interesting as the first book, mainly because I find it hard to care about the new character, Elle, and her story when I came to hear more about what actually happened to Katie / Amy.
The ending was spooky though.
Can't wait for this to become a movie :D

Boring

Good because I think I know what happened to Katie/Amy. Bad because I don't know if Katie/Amy was ever even real. Maybe Elle was killed like Amy. Maybe Elle was killed by Amy? Maybe Amy was real and killed by Elle then Elle took over where Katie's Q&A page left off. Ooo that would be a twist. All I know is, I'd like more answers! Hooked by these narratives!

This may contain spoilers, but not really. Lol.
After reading "Undiscovered Gyrl", I needed to figure out what happened and downloaded this book immediately. At first, I was disappointed it wasnt continued in Katies point of view, but those feelings diminished the second my curiousity peaked. and O M G. I finished this book in like an hour, and let me tell you. I HAVE THE CHILLLLSSSS. Like okay, yes it is obvious what happened to both Katie and Elle, especially considering the ending of "Undiscovered Gyrl" and the title of this book: "Another Girl". I couldnt believe how well played this book was. Im literally almost freaking out in my room because how creepy the ending was. The small details leading to the answers in the book were slightly obvious, especially how "Katie" was acting compared to how she acted in the previous book. I am still freaking out. What a good book. Definitely almost gave up when I started reading, but DONT. Trust me, it is satisfying because it will answer your questions on the ending of the previous book, oh yeah, and also FREAK YOU OUT!!!
If anyone has any book suggestions that are similar to this mini-series, please let me know. Always looking for goodreads ;)

I just read Undiscovered Gyrl at the beginning of this week and watched the movie Ask Me Anything and loved them both. I decided to read this novella because I was still feeling attached to the story and I must say I'm kind of disappointed? Don't get me wrong the story is still addicting and I finished it in one sitting, but how can you just leave us hanging like that? My rating is more of a 2.5 as I was left still wanting more. I'm looking forward to the movie coming out this September though, I'm sure its going to great and spooky little film about strangers on the internet.

Not my style but a quick and interesting read
I admit I only read this because I watched the movie based on the first book (without reading first, which I never do, but Justin Long & Christian Slater) and really wanted closure. I didn't enjoy the format, which is weird because one of my favorite books is Perks, and I guess I was expecting something less... open like? Totally my fault and I have no doubt that fans of the first book will love it!

I decided to read this book, the sequel to Undiscovered Gryl, because I already had it and it was a quick read. It was confusing because the after "Katie" disappears in the first book, she's back in this one, yet the author "Allison" (really a man, not sure if he is male Allison or what) confuses the reader by having "Katie's" blog-readers send messages, saying that the last book really being Allison talking and not Amy AKA - blogging as "Katie." I mean what a waste of my time!

This book was extremely captivating just like the one before it, Undiscovered Gryl, but I was expecting more clarity on Katie's new life. I still have so many questions as well as the same ones from reading the first book. Was Elle really talking to Amy (Katie)? Was the man plucking up the courage to talk to Elle at the bar the real person she was talking to? We still do not know what exactly happened to Amy and due to this my head can't rest! I need to know more.

This book stands out against all of the other "stuff" that is out there. It is an introspection that delves into the mind of a woman who desires companionship, yet finds it through her local internet connection instead of appreciating the relationships she does have. Another great book by the wonderful Allison Burnett, I also see that it's now a movie coming out soon.

Needed to know how it ended
I saw the movie of the first book and began searching for info on the ending and discovered the original book had a sequel - it did not disappoint! It is a quick read and it will suck you in but it's very satisfying to have a conclusion - even if its not what you were expecting and/or hoping for.

Although I enjoyed Undiscovered Gyrl more, this one manages to captivate you and capture all your attention just the same. The whole story makes you feel so many different things and get so many mixed emotions, specially by the end. I was actually afraid to read this after finishing the first part, but now I feel like I did the right thing.

Short, sweet, and to the point. The ending *could* have been more fucked up, but the way it is, was just the right level of creepiness to give you the heebie jeebies and leave you without a completely definitive answer.

Okay, this sequel was good. My students are taking a standardized test and finished it in a class period. I was shocked and it leaves more questions than answers. I want to rate it 5 stars but for some reason it’s not hitting like the 1st one did.

Such a good sequel. With the cliffhanger the first book ended on, I was so excited to find this sequel. It was interesting and I honestly wish it was longer. Katie's story is addicting and so is this one. The cliffhanger this was left on was even freakier than the last!

A short novella, yet a truly captivating and frightening story! Having read Mr. Burnett's prequel novel "Undiscovered Gyrl" a few months ago and having been left with a troublesome and unanswered cliffhanger ending, I decided to read this short sequel. I am so glad that I did! Another Girl effortlessly picks up where the first novel left off and neatly - and chillingly - fills in all the blanks.
Through blog post communications between "Katie" and the chosen few of her many followers, Mr. Burnett does an exemplary job in portraying his characters' inner thoughts and vulnerabilities. In turn, the reader feels like a helpless voyeur witnessing a magnificent tragedy about to unfold, made all the more relevant by today's headlines. A good story to read for parents & kids alike to remind us all to be acutely aware of the dangers of online "friendships".
After finishing Undiscovered Gyrl, I rated it with 3-stars; looking back, I now know that I didn't even understand the complete story! However, I would recommend that the first novel be read prior to reading Another Girl to fully appreciate the full story and the breadth of "Katie's" web that is cast.
