My opinion. It may work for you.

This would have been better if the story was just written in just the heroine's POV. The hero sounded a bit too much like the heroine. I do not know many men who think about a room's warm decor.(loc 1%) But as I continuing reading. I did not feel the chemistry. It felt too much like "well I am back in town and you look cute so lets reconnect." If this is a romance...I missed the "warmth".

Additionally, there was too much detail about things that really had very little relevance to the main story. How many reclining shampoo chairs and where the cash register is when you are getting a haircut feels like the author was writing "stuff" down to make the word count. (loc 3%)

I was excited to start this one, but I had issues with the writing style and therefore could not connect with the characters.

After Donovan finishes college, he wants to see the world and conquer it. His father wants him to take over the ranch and stay in Texas. So what's a boy to do? He left to set his dreams in New York city. Eight years later he gets a call from his oldest brother. His father has passed and he needs to come home. Donovan has been estranged from every except his mom. They call each other to see what's up and that's it. Donovan is worried about going back to Texas. He just up and left everyone. Even his one true love Memphis. Memphis has always never stopped loving Donovan. She was up set that he never called or answered any of the many letters she sent to him. While he's been away she's been helping his family do the book keeping for the ranch. When he returns she gets to play mad but deep down she's still in love with him. Can these two work it out. Or will he leave again after all the problems that arise with his father's passing. Great read couldn't put down till I was finished. Would be awesome if there was more books about this family. Hint hint lol

Well written and edited. The story leaves me with a ? To it; I don't want to say it was boring, but it was long winded with a lot of detail I really didn't care about. I did not feel any deep torrid charged sexual and emotional connection between the two main hero and heroine characters; I felt Donovan could of left Memphis anytime and never looked back ever again and never regret his decision. I did not resonate with Memphis, in fact she seemed dull, jealous of his wealth and judgmental of Donovan's choices in doing the right thing concerning his father's mistakes and what made it worse for me was when Donovan would convey to Memphis the secret's revelation that was exposed to him, she would say concurrently how much she did not want to get involve in his family members affairs and then get angry with him over his decision making! How fickle was she! She did not even want to physically and emotionally support him and not want to hear him out! The only plot that I really liked about this storyline was the biggest secret concerning Donovan; (which I won't reveal in my review). I believe this is where Vanessa Stone could of given a more descriptive details about his wounded feelings on the matter and cropped out the earlier parts that did not justify to the storytelling of this book. Each pov's lines concerning the two main characters were two simular in thinking which made it very uninterested and informative as we all know that men and women think differently plus it showed no depths in character and how different they both are. I really wanted to like this story but the deep destroying love that I wanted to read about with these two main characters did not come across the pages at all and left me feeling that I was reading about two friends or a sister, brother relationship. This book for me was a let down with all the possibility of being a great read!!

Eh... Ok...

This series was OK... Donovan's character was more relatable than Memphis. Due to the fact that this type of work is typically read by women, I felt like the author rather missed her audience. It also missed the "HOTT" level that is needed to make the category of erotic (could be due to the fact that the characters are in the state of a reunion romance, but they were missing something for sure). However, even with the lacking qualities, I have to say that the series is well-written and emotionally engaging.

Interesting series

This is a good series the main characters are quite strong and each has their own quirks they are really hot together. The storyline is good with some intrigue and unexpected scenarios. On the whole quite a good read some areas could have been further explained as you were left with some unanswered questions.

So Many Secrets

Great boxed set, I read it in one evening, just couldn't put it down. So many secrets that almost destroyed an entire family. So much burden on Donovans shoulders that he almost lost the love of his life.

I loved the fact that I could read all four books one right after the other by purchasing the boxed set. Donovan was not only a sexy billionaire but a man with a heart and a family with secrets. In between uncovering these secrets and courting his former sweetheart...

Great!

I choose this rating because these books are a great read. I really enjoyed the characters. They lost, and loved. I really liked when Donovan and Memphis first met back up for the first time, after so many years apart. I recommend this series to all romance readers.
