Pepper Winters is one of my favorite authors. Everything that she releases gets automatic "one-click" status from me. So, it pains me to say that I didn't love 'Sin & Suffer'.
Picking up where the first book left off, Cleo Price is at the mercy of a madman. Arthur "Kill" Killian is laid up in a hospital bed and Cleo has been kidnapped by his number one enemy -- his father. Without a doubt, his father is every bit as despicable as he's been made out to be and Cleo is in a great deal of danger.
Maybe it had just been too long since I had read the first book, but I had a hard time getting into this story right from the start. In the beginning, it was everything that I usually love. It was dark, twisted and disturbing, just the type of scenario that should leave me terrified of what would happen next. However, it didn't elicit the expected response from me. I felt disconnected from the characters and the storyline.
While Cleo is doing her best to survive the ordeal, Kill is working tirelessly to rescue her. Making matters worse, his injuries have left him with some long-term deficits. The harder he pushes himself, the worse they get.
Another big factor in this book was the secret that Kill was keeping. This secret was so big that he didn't even let Cleo in on it until the very end. It was so big that it was entirely ridiculous and unbelievable. When it was finally revealed I just rolled my eyes and wanted to laugh at the absurdity of it.
Since the book seemed to go on and on after the first 30 percent or so, just waiting for the revelation of Kill's secret, it was a huge letdown for me. I expected something incredible, leaving me yet again in awe of Pepper Winters incredible storytelling. Sadly, I was left incredulous. I was shocked, but not in a good way.
In the end, it was a "meh" read for me. I just wasn't feeling it. I still love Pepper Winters, but for the first time, one of her books wasn't for me.

Before I get into my review, allow me to explain my rating a little more. When I read Ruin & Rule, I fell hard for Arthur "Kill" Killian. Ruin and Rule turned out to be one of my favorite books that I'd read by Pepper Winters. So in reading the conclusion to his and Cleo's story, I have to admit that my expectations were high. I suppose I was expecting more of the same dark sort of grit with a touch of eroticism that the first book had. I was expecting more MC life and story surrounding that. Sin & Suffer was not what I expected at all. But that's not necessarily a bad thing...it was just different. I'll get to the reasons why later in my review
Sin & Suffer picks up immediately where Ruin & Rule left off; Cleo is at the hands of Kill's biggest enemy, his father, while he lays in a hospital bed recovering from the injury he sustained when they came to his clubhouse to kidnap her. Kill will stop at absolutely nothing to get Cleo back and finally get the vengeance that he has been planning all of these years. He finally got the love of his life back only to have her ripped from him by his biggest tormentor and the man that has cost him anything. He knows that nothing will come in his path in his need for blood and vengeance.
The first 30% of this book was intense. I was reading it with the darkest feeling of foreboding and yet I couldn't bring myself to put it down. And then somewhere after the 35% mark, it took a somewhat swift turn and became something different.
I loved seeing Cleo's strength come out in the previous books and that feeling only solidified in the first 30% of this one. But then somewhere along the way, she began to lose her edge for me. She was still a great heroine, but there was also something missing that I can't quite put my finger on.
I found a lot of the story that followed after the 30% to be almost filler. It was wordy with a whole lot of sex scenes thrown into the mix to spice it up. The pacing was slow and to be quite honest, between all the somewhat mundane details I began to lose interest. I found myself disconnecting from the story and putting it down to pick up another book. It took me much longer than my usual 'devour' pace that I have with any other Pepper Winters book.
I got extremely frustrated with Kill's evasiveness about his secret and shortsightedness with other things. The thing he was hiding from Cleo was no small matter, and he kept it hidden for the majority of the book. After everything that they've been through and all the secrets already surfaced, I just wanted him to be more upfront with her. She deserved that much.
If you cut out a lot of the wordy and poetic prose and a couple sex scenes that I actually skimmed through, this book could have been much shorter. In my opinion, it should have been shorter. I found that the length and the details that were covered did nothing for me in the sense of the plot.
I was also missing the angst and grit that was so prevalent in the first book. As much as it pains me to admit, From 30% and almost through 80%, I was bored and had to force myself to trudge through. The conclusion was definitely action packed and went out with a bang, but it felt too sudden and almost forced. I hate to admit it, but a certain turn in the story at the very end was almost cheesy. It just didn't fit for me.
But here's the thing; even those things considered, this was still a great book. Considering I've loved every other book in Pepper's backlist, this may have simply been a case of too high expectations. And with the wait between release, I had some time to really raise them. The one thing I have to say is that the writing is truly brilliant. Pepper has a signature voice to her stories that really captivates the reader and this was no different. She managed to throw a few twists and pack on quite a few feels towards the end, which I really appreciated.
So while I didn't love this one as much as her other books, it's still a strong contender if you're looking for a gritty read. It's not your typical MC romance...I'm not sure I'd categorize it as one at all. But it is entertaining, sexy, emotional and with a touch of Pepper's signature grit. If you know what to expect, I have a feeling most readers will really love it. Unfortunately for me, it fell somewhere in the middle. I do hope she continues this series though, because I'd love a story for Grasshopper. That's bound to be one very interesting read.

What a wild ride!I loved everything in this story! It's emotional, intense, dark, hot and passionate. Pepper Winters delivers a fantastic love story with two broken characters. I love Pepper Winters writing but especially in this series her writing is so poetic.

Cleo and Arthur are incredible characters. I loved them with all my heart. They are both damaged and they have their issues but they also have each other. Even thought people want to tear them apart, they always find a way to be together. Cleo is tough and determined. She is perfect for Arthur!
“You are me. And I am you. We might have separate thoughts and minds, Buttercup, but we have the same heart and soul.”
The story has many twists to keep you fully invested in the story. Also there is action, suspense and some seriously hot moments. An amazing, dark MC book! I highly recommend it to everyone. If you're already Pepper Winter's fan, rest assured, you will not be disappointed!!

Wonderful. I'm suffering form an Arthuer hangover, This book gave us a glimpse into Kill's obsession with Cleo, and I think it was meant to redeem his character a little.

If you've been holding off on this series because of the cliffy at the end of book 1, Ruin & Rule, I suggest you grab both books now and dive in! Just buckle up, Buttercup! This is a gritty and suspenseful ride!
Things pick up right from the ending of book 1. You're immediately thrown into the fray with lots going on and danger right in your face. This story is about vengeance...
but it's layered. There's a lot more going on. It’s apparent that there's a bigger end game and while Cleo is Art’s heart and soul, not even she knows where it’s all leading. This made for a very interesting and unique read.
From the get go, I really liked the connection between Art "Kill" Killian and Cleo. Their fiercely intense love was palpable and believable. We also get snippets of their youth, which for me further strengthened their bond, provided a better understanding of their past and the full potential of their future. Also, with these two, Pepper does a wonderful job of balancing the brains, brawn and beauty of Kill and Cleo. Their both strong and vulnerable but in different ways. And the same goes for their smarts. Kill is a genius but at times it was Cleo with her instinct and keen observation that's smarter. They were awesome together, even when they were arguing.
Pepper’s writing is captivating and lyrical. Really enjoyed how creative and complex the story was and while the MC was not a huge part of the story, I got a whole lot more out of this than I expected!

4.25 Pure Redemption Stars!
Arthur "Kill" Killian is a man out for revenge... Revenge against those that hurt him and took his most valued possession, Chloe. He's got just a general issue with corruption... Corruption within the motorcycle club community and corruption within the US government. From the day he joins with Wallstreet while incarcerated in the Florida State Prison, his goals are clear. He's had a few side tracks but the end game is the same. Vengeance.
After the cliffhanger ending of Ruin & Rule, I knew this book would start right off running. To say it hit the ground running is an understatement. I don't think I moved from my chair the first third of this book. It was so action packed, angsty and gripping, I couldn't put my kindle down.
Arthur is such a complex character. Gifted with off the charts IQ and a whiz with numbers, he builds an empire quickly. Trading on the stock markets is his nitch and Kill cringes to think what would happen to his carefully constructed world if he lost that ability. It's clear his need for revenge and change but the author trickle feeds the reader in details of his plans with Wallstreet. Even his precious Chloe isn't entirely privy to his plans.
Chloe is Arthur's kryptonite and I love how their love story truly stands the test of time. Starting at young childhood age, both MC runts, they are destined to be together. Tragedies arise, deaths, murder, but their love prevails...
Written in dual POV, Pepper Winters starts each chapter within Sin & Suffer with an excerpt from one or the other of their diaries from years past and it was a great way to incorporate the young-love romance into an otherwise gritty, suspenseful novel. As those early years pass, one thing stayed true for them- their connection to one another. No man, no woman ever came close those 8 years they were apart...
Sin & Suffer will keep you glued to your tablet with new challenges and revelations for this couple. It's steamy but also romantic, gritty and a bit dark. It seems no matter how dark the content, however, with Pepper Winters' poetic, artistic prose, she seems to shine a warm light on the page.
I didn't feel the MC component as much in Ruin & Rule as I did here in Sin & Suffer so if you're a fan of MC books, you'll get a bigger exposure to club brotherhood and club "activities" in this installment. An all-around enjoyable suspense series by Pepper Winters.
Sin & Suffer is the second book of a duet in the Pure Corruption MC series. It cannot be read as a standalone.

Dating was temporary. What we had was permanent. As permanent as ink on skin or fossils in stone.

4.5 Sin No More Stars!
It is possible that this was my most anticipated read for 2016. I have always been a fan of Pepper Winters’s style and her edgy dark stories. Ruin & Rule introduced Arthur Kill Killian and his brand of MC. It also brought a tortured second chance love story as he found his forever in a ghost…his beloved Cleo Price. Just as he discovered the past and the lies…she was gone! Sin & Suffer picks up at the pivotal moment where Art is clinging to life and Cleo is fighting to survive her past!
Finally, more back story as Art and Cleo learn the treachery and the deceit that ripped them apart for 8 years. As they try to heal their hearts they also must heal physically as the fight on the horizon is one of epic proportion. Everything is tense and with a desperate tone. To love or leave? There has never been anyone else for either Art or Cleo and neither would let anything come between them again…
He took everything and I let him. Demanding. Feral. Consuming. Arthur was everywhere at once. In my mind. My heart. My soul. His taste. His scent. His heat.
Unlike the typical MC themed reads, Winters has created a smart story. Very intricate and planned. In the heat of a reunited love, there is a bigger picture. A life- long quest of revenge is not just the end goal as Pure Corruption, under the guide of Art, is striving for more. Societal change is coming if Art can survive. More importantly he NEEDS Cleo to stand at this side...
You’re killing me because without you, I’m so damn alone. I look back on the last eight years and wonder how the hell I survived without you. My fucking sanity depends on you. My self-worth, my happiness, my purpose, in this life- all hinge on you.
I read this book cautiously. I was completely on edge just waiting for something…anything to happen. The road was not easy for Art and Cleo as so much was going on and so much was kept in the dark. There is a feel of “trust no one” and a tentativeness to just enjoy the new found connection between Art and Cleo as the future was so uncertain and the fight for forever was bloody.
I have a true appreciation for this author as her stories are so unique in that they are hard and gritty yet there seems to be slivers of light and beauty within her broken characters. It is possible that this was my most anticipated read for 2016. I have always been a fan of Pepper Winters’s style and her edgy dark stories. Ruin & Rule introduced Arthur Kill Killian and his brand of MC. It also brought a tortured second chance love story as he found his forever in a ghost…his beloved Cleo Price. Just as he discovered the past and the lies…she was gone! Sin & Suffer picks up at the pivotal moment where Art is clinging to life and Cleo is fighting to survive her past!
Finally, more back story as Art and Cleo learn the treachery and the deceit that ripped them apart for 8 years. As they try to heal their hearts they also must heal physically as the fight on the horizon is one of epic proportion. Everything is tense and with a desperate tone. To love or leave? There has never been anyone else for either Art or Cleo and neither would let anything come between them again…
He took everything and I let him. Demanding. Feral. Consuming. Arthur was everywhere at once. In my mind. My heart. My soul. His taste. His scent. His heat.
Unlike the typical MC themed reads, Winters has created a smart story. Very intricate and planned. In the heat of a reunited love, there is a bigger picture. A life- long quest of revenge is not just the end goal as Pure Corruption, under the guide of Art, is striving for more. Societal change is coming if Art can survive. More importantly he NEEDS Cleo to stand at this side...

I read this book cautiously. I was completely on edge just waiting for something…anything to happen. The road was not easy for Art and Cleo as so much was going on and so much was kept in the dark. There is a feel of “trust no one” and a tentativeness to just enjoy the new found connection between Art and Cleo as the future was so uncertain and the fight for forever was bloody.
I have a true appreciation for this author as her stories are so unique in that they are hard and gritty yet there seems to be slivers of light and beauty within her broken characters. 4 Revenge filled stars
Sin & Suffer is the concluding story in the Pure Corruption series. I am not sure if there will be more books in the series, but I wouldn’t be surprised nor opposed to having more Arthur and Chloe.
Oh the FEELS that Pepper Winter made me feel in this story. This series had me tied up in KNOTS. I was up and down and all around and I felt like I was holding my breath every step of the way. Sin & Suffer begins where Ruin and Ruled left off and what a cliffhanger we had!
I loved how we figured out how Arthur and Chloe are tied together. I didn’t see that coming. Chloe is taken by Arthur’s father and Arthur suffers from heavy guilt. Throughout the whole book you feel the weight on Arthur’s shoulders, he can’t get over his guilt towards Chloe and it makes me love him even more!
I love you, Arthur
You kill me every time you say that, Buttercup
The thing I love about Pepper Winter’s writing is how she just turns the intensity up a notch, I love how passionate the characters are for each other and I love how dire the situation is. I also enjoyed the little excerpt in the beginning of the chapters. It gave me a glimpse into Chloe and Arthur’s childhood.
Chloe struggles with her love towards Arthur because she feels him unraveling. He’s greatly injured and he wants revenge towards his father. I love Chloe. I love how she is witty and very sensible. I was never frustrated her and she’s a very strong Heroine.
You’re my more Cleo. But it’s still not enough. It won’t be until the end.
I felt Arthur’s torture and I wanted him to move past it, but he had to do it in his own way and I understood completely. I enjoyed his POV because I felt like I could really see the way he saw Chloe and I just loved his love towards her. I also like we get more of Pure Corruption and business talk. I’m a major MC book reader and one of my favorite parts to read is the politics within the group.
I’d be willing to suffer anything for you Buttercup. I thought you knew that my now?
You are me. And I am you. We may have separate thoughts and mind Buttercup, but we have the same heart and soul.
It’s a heavy descriptive book, but it’s no different from the first one. You get plenty of action, drama and steam! If you are a fan of the series, you will not be disappointed with this ending.

I am always afraid I will forget things when a story ends on a cliffy, when I finished Ruin & Rule I didn’t think I could ever forget that ending. I was right as soon as I started this one everything came back and I was immediately into the story.
Sin & Suffer picks up where Ruin & Rule left off, Art is injured and Cleo has been taken. This is one of those stories that had me on the edge of my seat. I couldn’t wait to see what happened next. I was also so impressed with the many directions the story took.
When I first met Kill and Cleo I was just so happy with the attraction, chemistry and how there was just more between them. When we learned why there was this indefinable connection between them I was hooked. I love a story where true love never ends, where a connection is so strong it’s never forgotten, and I love damaged characters.
I don’t want to to go too far into the plot, but I will tell you a few non-spoilers things. Kill is still seeking his personal revenge, but there is more. I love all the twists, but at times it felt like so much was going on at once. I was frustrated with Kill’s short sightedness at times, but it didn’t take away from my overall enjoyment of the story.

What can I say? I adore Pepper Winter's writing and the conclusion of Kil's story is fantastic. No spoilers, but if you read Ruin and Rule, you don't want to miss this!

I am still at a loss for words to be honest. I can't begin to explain how I went loving the first book and then just feeling blah with the second.
I honestly have no clue.
Maybe the wait between books was too long that I've already forgotten the minute details of the story. Maybe. The sense of urgency I felt reading the first one wasn't present in this book. I found myself skimming just to get to the end. And that ending? Oh man. Let's just say I do love cheese but they have no business being in a dark, gritty, MC read like Sin & Suffer.
I won't go into boring you with a summary anymore. Let's just say that my reading experience leave a lot to be desired. I found the MC elements to be lacking, the dialogue to be cheesy and the pace to be uneven. I ended up not caring much about what's going to happen to the main characters, which should tell you something.
Overall, a disappointing followup to one of my favorite books in 2015.

3.5 "Revenge Intertwined with Love" Stars for the story and narration.
After having absolutely loved Book 1, Ruin & Rule, I knew I had to get the conclusion to Art's and Cleo's story, so I jumped at the chance to listen to Sin & Suffer. In Ruin & Rule I thought Pepper Winters had created the perfect blend of suspense, heat and mystery, all mixed with an intriguing edge of darkness that, while not as dark as some of Ms. Winter's prior stories (eg, the Monsters in Dark Series), was just right to make this romance a truly memorable one. Moreover, and most importantly, I was absolutely glued to the story, reading Ruin & Rule was an addicting experience that left me with no choice but to devour it as quickly as possible.
Sin & Suffer, however, had a different feel altogether. Lighter in tone and less suspenseful and mysterious in its unraveling (given our background knowledge from Ruin & Rule), it just felt like an altogether different experience than the one I had anticipating. Nonetheless it's always great to get closure to a great love story, and star crossed lovers are one of my favorite romantic pairings. If you haven't yet read or listened to Ruin & Rule, however, it's essential that you start with that book.
Sin & Suffer picks up where Ruin & Rule ends. Kill's worst nightmares have come true. Cleo has been kidnapped by his father and his MC. Kill, in turn, is still trying to recover from the serious symptoms that his concussion has wreaked on his genius IQ. His facility with numbers, and statistic defying success trading on Wall Street, is, in large part, what has led to the extreme success of Pure Corruption. A success which has allowed the MC to be much more politically correct and democratic, which many would consider largely unconventional when it comes to the traditional hierarchy of MC clubs.
However, even if he can rescue her, Kill struggles with the knowledge that Cleo now remembers everything, including how he has sinned against her family and by extension her. So even as the long planned revenge lays finally within his grasp, will he ever be able to recover the one thing he can't live without? Surely Cleo will never be able to forgive him for his sins?
As I read the first book, the narration added an additional different element to my experience of this installment. Kelsi Nesser has the perfect spirited voice to bring this fast-paced action and emotion packed romance to life. Her dramatic emphasis, which brought many scenes to a feverish pace, rang true to me as being consistent with the revenge tinged, explosive nature of the characters and story that Pepper Winters penned.
However, a choice in her narration style gained my attention repeatedly. First and foremost, she gave Cleo a British accent. Although warranted in part due to her witness protection time in England, her style clashed with the other MC members who all had a different sound. I also found it a bit strange that Cleo's thoughts were in American accented English but her dialogue had a British accent. Additionally, I couldn't help but let my mind wander a few times during the narration to contemplate whether an American who moved to England for a few years in her teenage years/early twenties--even if suffering from amnesia--would all of sudden pick up a completely new accent. Moreover, upon returning to her home environment in America and remembering her identity, wouldn't her natural, original speech have emerged at least for the most part? Perhaps Ms. Nesser's portrayal is correct, and in any event it did help easily distinguish Cleo from the other characters without reliance on dialogue tags, but I just couldn't help pondering this question, which caused me to have to rewind the audio at a few different points.
All in all, I enjoyed some of the convention defying aspects of the Pure Corruption MC. Moreover, if you loved Kill and Cleo in Ruin & Rule, then you will definitely want to hear the rest of their story in Sin & Suffer. Just be prepared for a slightly different tone overall in this final journey to the conclusion of their story.

Well, what can I say other than Pepper Winters delivered her A game yet again with "Sin & Suffer." Am I surprised? Not at all. In fact I doubt this author could write a bad book if she tried. If it isn't her writing that sucks us in, it's her ability to give her readers unique story lines that captivate us and leave us begging for more. Book one in this duology entitled "Ruin & Rule" was a prime example of just that. And with that classic Pepper Winters cliff hanger ending that had me ready to throw my kindle at the wall and beg her to write the "Sin & Suffer," I could only pray that her creative juices would flow and she would put me out of my misery with this sequel sooner rather than later.
Pepper Winters is renowned for giving us darker, pull you out of your comfort zone reads that really make you question your morals and even your sanity at times. "Sin & Suffer" however, clearly highlighted that this author is not just a one trick pony. Don't get me wrong, there was still a truck load of mayhem and craziness but there was also a sweetness to Cleo and Arthur's story, a normalcy that I wasn't expecting but that I thoroughly enjoyed. This was kinda like an episode of Sons of Anarchy meets a second chance romance. Yes we got the blood, the guts, the shoot outs and murders. And of course there was the gruff, the gritty and the raw edginess... after all this book did centre around the world of the Pure Corruption MC (to a certain degree). However, I also saw the rekindling of a beautiful romance and the making up of eight years apart. There were some heart warming moments and definitely some panty melting moments too (and we all know just how hot this authors sex scenes can get (fans self). But there were also parts that made me grin like a cheshire cat, bits that made me giggle and scenes that made me feel like Cleo and Arthur were just like any other normal couple, going through all the ups and downs normal couples go through... and boy oh boy could this couple bicker... lol. Who'd have thought it!!!!
"Sin & Suffer" wasn't a conventional MC novel. It wasn't simply the conclusion to a story about revenge and biker wars. This was about so much more than that... more than I could have ever imagined. The mystery and suspense surrounding Wallstreet and Arthur continued to build, reaching fever pitch and my mind boggled as to what lay ahead in terms of the bigger picture. Little clues littered amongst the pages had me trying desperately trying to work out what the big secret was and I could only hope that the information I was picking up was legit and not a red herring thrown in to put me off the scent.
I loved this final book in the "Pure Corruption Duology." It answered all of the questions that had cropped up in the series and gave me the perfect conclusion for Cleo and Arthur. Of course it wasn't straight forward and of course it was littered with bombshells thrown in to test this couple but that's what helped make this such a compelling, compulsive, addictive read. Another ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ to add to the works of Mrs Winters so deservedly so.

The nucleus of fear grew larger until it opened its jaws like a consuming black hole. It sucked and swirled, urging me to jump into it's terror and give in.

I read Ruin & Rule almost six months ago, it might as well be six years for all the things that I can't remember. I did went back and refreshed my mind by reading the last chapter though of Book 1, though.
Sin & Suffer started right from the cliffhanger with Cleo being kidnapped by Kill's father, Rubix, while Kill himself landed in the hospital with a major concussion. Kill being the ever protective lover was adamant to save his girl rather than to receive more treatment, much to the doctors and his brothers' dismay.
Meanwhile, Cleo was being held captive by Rubix for what purpose, I'm not quite sure. His intention seems a tad ambiguous to me. Just to prove a point? I'm expecting Kill to go in gun blazing, but when he was finally there, it was anti-climatic.
During the middle part of the story, Kill and Cleo get reacquaint with each other and we get to know more about Kill's plan and his club business. For those of us who are more eager to get down to the face off with Rubix, I felt that this part was slightly draggy. I want action, I want suspense, I want blood. Instead, I'm treated to Kill's evasiveness about his condition, secrecy about his ultimate plan and Cleo constant pestering about his health. I think we can shorten this part down by cutting off about 100 pages. However, this portion might satisfy those who appreciate the relationship development part between Cleo and Kill. I actually enjoyed the little tidbits on their past that appear at every new chapter. If only Kill just admit his weaknesses and let them both support each other, it would have work out better for me.
I think Pepper Winters still did what she did best with delivering her dark edgy romance. I wish she could get down to business and focus on the main climax much earlier because somewhere in the middle my attention is slipping away. However, this series did end with a bang and I'm sure fans of Book 1 will be eager to find out how it all ends for Kill and his Buttercup. Grasshopper coming up next? I hope so.

All 5 stars go to Arthur "Kill" Killian!!
What I liked:
- Kill's loyalty, determination, passion, devotion, intelligence, ambition, drive, love, etc.
- the brief mention of Jethro!
- the intricacy of Kill and Wallstreet's plans
- Grasshopper. This dude was a truly amazing side character
- the revenge and government reform plot
What I didn't like:
Cleo!! I couldn't stand her in this book. I loved her in book one but regretted her existence in this one. Arrrrrrggggggghhhhhh!! Why the heck was she like that???
I wish I had read this duet sooner, but better late than never.

After reading Ruin & Rule I was dying to get my hands on this one, and I have had it for a few weeks now and was scared to read it. I was scared for Cleo and Arthur. Yes I know crazy thinking on my part, Pepper would never let anything really bad happen to these two characters, but the struggle was real for me.
Cleo made me sin and she made me suffer.
With her resurrection came deceit and war.
But then they took her.
Stole her.
And my carefully laid plans for vengeance were now my reality.
This one picks up right where Ruin & Rule leave off, Cleo has been taken and Arthur is injured and in the hospital. As Arthur fights at the hospital to get out and get to Cleo she fights at the hands of his father. Cleo has her memories back and she knows that Arthur will come save her, she just needs to keep fighting until he gets to her.
Arthur is out for revenge, but he is also out for the bigger picture. Cleo does not even know all that it entails yet, but he cannot do it without Cleo by his side now that he has her back in his life.
This story is so different from the usual MC reads. Pepper has made this story intriguing, suspenseful and leaving you want to know what is going to happen as fast as you can. Pepper keeps you on the end of your seat just waiting for that bomb to drop and something major to happen.
I love Arthur and Cleo these two have a very close relationship. Their love is written in the future, their souls are connected, have been for all their lives. They balance each other out so intensely.

This book surprised me. I knew from the first book that this duology was not going to be your usual biker read, and I was so right! This book is full of surprises, twists and turns, passion and revenge.
This final installment picks up right from where the first book left us. When Kill realizes that Cleo is taken, he will do everything to get her back. His injuries will not help though and we have a fight against time itself.
Cleo is living in fear but at the same time she keeps her head up, knowing that Killian will come for her. Can they survive the ghosts of their pasts and dangers of their future?
I loved, loved how the author built their love story. I really liked that they had so much history and that we got to see glimpses of their shared past.
The writing, as always,is intricate and the plot is not predictable and obvious. This is why I love this author so much. If you want a unique MC read that will make your heart pound, then this is for you.

4.5 tell me you'll have me forever stars. The writing is dark, hard hitting and sinfully delicious which is what Pepper Winters is known for. The story weaves around Arthur and Cleo in the motorcycle club world of deceit, revenge and the thought of living a different way. There's moments of pleasure, pain, and confusion all the while steering the reader towards the ultimate yet shocking end of Arthur's and Cleo's story.
Picking right up where Ruin & Rule left off, Sin & Suffer starts off with some seriously screwed up crap. Cleo and Arthur are separated with Cleo captured and Arthur hospitalized for his injuries. Cleo clings to the belief that Arthur will come for her and so does what she has to do to stay alive while Arthur fights to get to Cleo. Arthur's father is Cleo's captor which only fuels Arthur's anger.
With Cleo's memories back, she's well aware of what she has to do in order to stay alive. She's also reliving the parts of Arthur her mind had locked away in an attempt to survive. Cleo struggles to reconcile the person she was with the person she is with all the memories of who she was. Her endless love for Arthur will ultimately set her and him free because a love that powerful is one that never leaves.
Arthur is still the dominant, angry biker hell bent on revenge that he was in the first book but there are steps towards him becoming someone more, someone better. I really liked book 2 too but as Sarah/Chloe has now remembered everything, the "secret" factor disappeared and that's one thing I loved so much.
Kill's ambition is...immeasurable and quite frankly, I found it naive even if admirable. On the other hand, if you can't dream in a book, where else?
These two elements explain the 4 stars instead of 5 stars but as it's written by a "seasoned" writer I love, I do tend to be more demanding.
This series still is very, very, very captivating, raw, gritty and the romance between Arthur and Chloe is worth legend. So really, don't hesitate and go for it as I'm certain you'll have an incredible time reading these books.

I looooooooooved it so much! And I absolutely LOVE Art & Cleo.
Like the first book, Ruin & Rule, this was heartbreaking, funny, sad, fantastic, awesome and ugh, I love this series so damn much. I'm super sad that this series is over, but I'm also so happy that I've read it. I can't wait to do a re-read!

Second book to this series and it was just as good as book one!
There is alot more action, drama and fighting going on in this book which I enjoyed.

I could not wait to get my hands on this book. The first one absolutely ravaged me. Tore me up, battered my heart, abused my soul, and made me fall hopelessly and tragically in love with Art and Cleo. Such sweet names. Such a timeless, endless love. Such horribly fucked over lives! Whereas book one devoured all my feels with their reclaiming of life and love after so many years, this one threw all my feels back to me with the determination of the rest of the world to STILL keep them apart. They've been through enough, dontcha think?
There was so much pain and tragedy, all hidden in such a beautifully wrapped package of pure, first love. As you wish, Buttercup. Melt. Swoon. Maybe a little flailing. Is that a tear? Could be, I can't tell because of all the screaming in frustration. Tense? Edge of your seat? Nail-biter? Yep, they're pretty much nubs now. Was it worth it? Yes. Yes, and yes again. It was beautiful and terrible and passionate and brutal. Every word was "wuv, tru wuv". ~ George, 5 stars

Wow! What a raw and gritty ending to Kill and Cleo’s story! Sin & Suffer is the second and final book in the Pure Corruption MC series and it was intense!

Cleo has finally remembered who she is and her past. She remembers her love, Arthur, and together they start to heal and live again. However, there are still so many secrets to unearth, vengeance to be had, and truth to uncover.
“We were jealous. We were possessive. We were passionate and explosive and consumed.”
This is a perfect explanation for Cleo and Arthur together. They were so meant for one another; true soulmates. They couldn’t keep their hands off one another, and it was sexy and sinful!
“How am I killing you when you’re making me come so alive?”
This story had quite a few twists and turns that I wasn’t expecting. There was also so much goodness that came out of this story. I really enjoyed it and I certainly hope we get some stories of some of the others members of the Club, especially Grasshopper. ~ Tiffany, 4.5 stars

I love to highlight important moments and quotes to fall back on when I'm writing reviews. Pepper's words hit me with such force that, at one point, I just stopped. The entire book looked like a rave with all the neon colors.
"Mom told me that he was at a point in his life where he had to lose himself to find himself. I had no idea what she meant. I just... I just really missed my best friend."
Sometimes the plot of a book really speaks to you. In this case, everything about a tattooed biker rebel, a strong willed heroine, and their story of revenge would really pull you in. While I love this genre, it's been done and since I love to read all things bikers, there was nothing that stood out.... except the author's words.
"Those feelings of togetherness only amplified the echoing of loneliness."
Pepper took a common plot and turned it into something completely enthralling. She kept me reading until the very end! Considering this book is long (high five Pepper, no one write long books anymore!!), that is extremely impressive.
"He crushed me close, forging us together into one statue of bleeding souls."
My sweet Arthur, can I just have an Arthur in real life? The amount of love he has for Cleo is insurmountable. Cleo's dedication to Arthur is breathtakingly beautiful. Their story reached out from the pages to play a perfectly crafted orchestra that left you feeling as breathless and asking for more.
If you love a heartbreaking story with a sexier than sin biker and willful heroine, this modern day Romeo and Juliet is absolutely for you. ~ Kelly, 3.5 stars

This was a great duet & I love Pepper Winters, however for me it was about a 3.5 stars. The first book was a fantastic read and Pepper has a way of keeping you on the edge of your seat with the mysterious eroticism that her books always has. This book lost some of that but is still a great read.
Arthur Kill Killian was destin too be great he was so smart and once he received the right mentor which his father thought as a weakness Wallstreet capitalized on it and he made millions for himself, The Club (his brother/family) and his mentor Wallstreet, while keeping his vision alive and the Pure Corrupt going in the right direction. Now he was given the permission to finish his revenge against Dagger & Rose MC his father & brother, the people that wronged him and Cleo.
Cleo was a strong sassy heroine in this duet she shown even without her memories she was still a badass and to find out that you where the princess of Dagger & Rose MC she was buttercup. Cleo still had triggers and the man who stole her life and memories knew how to trigger them.Throughout the things that was done to her she was still loyal to Kill and stood by his side because she was the Pres woman even if she didn't again but she found in Pure Corruption the family that was stolen from her.

Sin & Suffer
just hit the ground running. It took off right from where Ruin & Rule, the first book, ended. From then on, I was at the edge of my seat, biting my fingernails, blood pumping double time, agitated and anticipating all the action going on. Although the second book, for me, was so different from the first one. And I'm not saying that it's a bad thing. Not at all. It just reached out to so much more and delved in deeper into Kill's issue with corruption. The feel and vibe of the entire story was just different and seems like it somehow (somehow being the operative word) deviated from the MC component, unlike Ruin & Rule where it was purely about the MC—the community, the activities, the rules, the hierarchy, everything. This one took so many turns and I was blindsided by most of them. I had so many guesses going into the book and by the end, I found out how I was so surprisingly wrong on most of them. It left me shocked, horrified and terrified of what's about to happen, all the while still pining for Art and Cleo's bright and happy future. It made my heart stutter and turned my brain to mush with Art's unrelenting strength, determination and intelligence.
Arthur “Kill” Killian is still that sweet, mad genius I loved from Ruin & Rule. Nothing could ever change that. He's an amazing ruler and leader with an unusually high IQ and a beautiful heart, even though he tries so hard to hide it from others. He loves deeply and will do anything in his power to save those he cares for—no matter the danger. In this book, I think we see more of the real Arthur Killian, especially his vulnerabilities and weaknesses. Yet, in the midst of all that, he shows so much strength and bravery. And what surprised me the most is how much this story highlighted the good in this man. I knew somehow how he really was from the first book, but with all the revelations in this one, I was stunned. He was always hungry for more, but his intentions were always for the greater good. And that was something I would always admire in him. He was always willing to go above and beyond to get things done, which made it so easy for him to build such a powerful empire and have loyal people surrounding him. Plus, it wasn't just about corruption around the MC community anymore. It's about corruption even within the US government he wants to tackle and make right. He isn't just a president of a biker club—he's definitely so much more than that.
Cleo Price blended a bit in the background on this one, but her love for Arthur and courage after everything she's gone through shone bright. There were parts that I just wanted to cry for her, for what has been done to her. But I can't really do that because she was so brave and strong. She held on tight and kept going. She was so selfless, always thinking of Arthur first before herself. It wasn't to the point of stupidity that she doesn't even care for herself anymore, but it was just because of her love and care for her Libran. I clung to every moment Cleo and Art's love was tackled. Theirs was just so unique and heart melting, especially with their family backgrounds, the time they spent together and the memories they shared before everything was blown apart.
Just like in Ruin & Rule, I'm again in awe of the way Pepper Winters plays with her words to create such a creative and poetic feel to her story. She paints you a clear picture of what's going on and just makes you feel so much more. Sin & Suffer still has that dark, gritty substance, but it will take you even higher and beyond that. The violence will make you squirm and hurt, but the vengeance that Art finds is so damn rewarding.
