All four animals discussed in this National Geographic chapter book of adorable animals were difficult to control. Both sneaky Sniffles, and Babbity are naughty rabbits that survived because of their friends, both animal and humans, who protect them when they escape their yards and become prey to predators in the vicinity. Bandit Bear earned the nick name Yellow-Yellow from the matching tags he sported in his ears. He was notorious because of his love of human food. This food stealing problem occurred repeatedly, until precautions were accomplished to make it harder for him to steal food, yet he persisted. Campers have been educated over the past ten years to be vigilant about keeping their foods locked away. This movement has spared manhim starving on a lonely road. As he grew he suffered two problems that made it hard for the couple to care for him. He ate everything, including socks, pajamas, and lightbulbs. As he became larger he was almost impossible to contain, the owners constantly had to search for him. Yet they always found him and he never traveled far. These are entertaining stories about very naughty yet appealing pets. Readers will enjoy them because everyone with a pet knows they all have quirks and provide challenges, yet we love them anyway. This is a slightly harder read them some of the other National Geographic chapter books, but with such winning pictures adn stories, it will find an eager audience.
