The Bluegrass book everyone has been asking for is finally here. The Rose sisters have survived the lows and enjoyed the highs throughout their lives. See what events shaped Keeneston's most beloved siblings.
Lily Rae Rose has been headstrong since she was a child. She was the oldest, after all. Maybe that’s why she fell for the bad boy next door. But Lily learns that not all bad boys can be reformed. After suffering the pain of a broken heart, Lily dedicated herself to finding the perfect match for her friends. This let her enjoy the benefits of love without the pain. Until town gossip John Wolfe forced her to confront the pain of the past.
Daisy Mae Rose may only be minutes apart from her two sisters, but she always felt invisible as the middle sister. When a man makes her the center of attention, Daisy blooms under his loving care. That is, until he joins the war effort and leaves her behind forever. But there was someone else who had loved Daisy in high school, and now he has returned. At their 70th high school reunion, he decides to see if there’s a reason to move back to Keeneston.
Violet Fae Rose was always the wild one. After high school, she did the unthinkable for a single woman in the early 1960s . . . she left the small town of Keeneston and went to culinary school in France. While in the City of Love, Violet falls madly in love with the one person she shouldn’t. Violet quickly finds out the downside of a forbidden romance and runs away to the French countryside to lose herself in her cooking. But sometimes it takes returning home to fully put things back together. Violet finds peace in playing matchmaker with her sisters for many years. And then one day, Violet finds herself on the receiving end of someone else's matchmaking.
Time can heal many wounds, but the Rose sisters' wounds run very deep. Will the three sisters finally find true love during their golden years? And better yet, can Keeneston even handle three Rose sisters in love?

Wow. The tears wouldn't stop flowing. We finally get to see the three Roses sisters finally find true love. The had given up the pain was more then they could over come until now. This took me a while to read .... I couldn't see threw the tears but it was such a well written amazing book that I so love reading. Now as I finish I can't wait to read the next generation as they find their happy ever after match
We waited with great anticipation for the story of The Rose Sisters of Keeneston, KY...And it was so worth the wait. Kathleen Brooks did not disappoint her loyal fans of the Bluegrass series. I give it 5+ stars. These three amazing woman are the heart of the town of Keeneston and the families who have lived for generations in this town.. We learn the stories behind who the sisters and how they became the matriarchs of this town. We see their heartbreaks, heartaches and how they became the woman they are today. We laughed, we cried and we loved with them. There were so many wonderful scenes in this book I loved, but the two that stand out the most for me, are when the Tornado hits and the loss and devastation for these three sisters, but in the aftermath they find the strength to carry on and build their lives. This one had me running for a tissue… The next one was when the sisters are getting married and all the men of Keeneston, to which the Rose sisters found them the loves of their lives, walk each Rose sister down the aisle. Three escorts to a sister. This again had me grabbing for a tissue. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did… I can’t wait for the next generation of Keeneston to find the loves of their lives with a little help from The Rose sisters and their own brand of Sweet Tea…
This story was amazing! I laughed (to the point of almost peeing my pants), cried and laughed again all within a paragraph or two throughout the book. I can relate to the heartache and betrayal all three girls endured but I'm so happy they were finally able to let that all go and find their true loves. Like they Rose sisters said - age is just a number - and they showed everyone that true love does not care what your age is! Kathleen hit another one out of the park with this one! There are way too many scenes that I loved to write about here but my favorite and the one that had be blubbering for several minutes was the Rose sisters wedding when all nine of those gorgeous, wonderful, special men walked those women down the aisle showing them how much they and the entire town loved and needed them in their lives. Can not wait for the next installment of this series with the new cousins showing up and all the kids growing up and giving the Rose sisters another generation of matchmaking to work on! Thank you Kathleen for this wonder series!
I am a big Kathleen Brooks fan & love her Bluegrass series. The Roses have always been some of my favorite characters. I loved getting their story of what and why. Their story is one of love, loss, and pure happiness.
The Keeneston Roses is the fourth book in the Bluegrass Singles series (Bluegrass Book #14) by Kathleen Brooks. ‘Bluegrass’ combines romance and suspense, with a touch of Southern charm. A few years ago a friend recommended this author, and her many series, to me - as she had devoured every book and absolutely loved them, singing the author’s praises from high from the hilltops. So, being an avid reader who loves discovering new authors and enticing reads, I took my friends recommendations seriously, and started amassing Ms. Brooks many books, with the plan to have a huge binge session/buddy read with my friend. But with so many books on my TBR, and new, exciting ones releasing every week, I always seemed to get pulled into other books- as these just kept piling up. Since part of my yearly reading challenges for the past few years has been to dust off my TBR pile/s and read the books that have been languishing there the longest, I decided to finally dive in and get the series read. While I did ‘enjoy’ the books for the most part- I didn’t fall madly in love with them as my friend promised that I would. But that’s ok, I am really happy that she loves them as much as she does. But for me, they were just an ‘okay’ read. With plenty of small-town drama, intrigue, angst, chemistry, humour, community, family, friendship, charm, mystery, tension, danger, emotion, and suspense- the stories are about finding love unexpectedly and love conquering all. The books can all be read as standalones if you wanted, without feeling ‘lost’ or like you are missing big pieces of the picture. This is because each instalment introduces its own ‘couple’- providing plenty of romance, a dash of suspense, and some sweet development to make your heart flutter. But I have to be honest, I found there were a few issues which detracted from my overall enjoyment of the stories/series. Such as the ‘wordiness’ which really slowed the flow of the storyline at times, as there was such an overwhelming amount of detail which didn’t really ‘add’ to or propel the story in any way, except to perhaps distract from the plot. I love details, normally- but not when there are pages of descriptions, as things tend to ‘bog’ down and the flow/pace/plot gets lost amongst the detritus- and also leads to some ‘wandering’ storylines. There were also many loose ends, for me- threads that were left hanging, or not fully woven into the storyline- which I found a bit frustrating. I really wanted to love this series as much as my friend did…. but instead, I was left a little disappointed. Happy reading! 📚💙
This book was an unexpected surprise but it makes me sad. The story line is not as developed as it could be... these women have layered personalities and spunk and a Lot of that is lost in their story. I don’t think they were given the justice they deserved.
***spolier
Daisy is marrying a guy who showed up and no explanation of why she is in love him... same with lily other than the crazy silliness of her and john’s relationship and don’t get me started with violet. The author did not give it just in the sense because there is no true back story... the men simply appear... and you are going like from age 23 to 50 to 80...just feel like the whole story was rushed and I can see the desire as the wedding at the end is awesome... that should have been a novella by itself. Love the idea... but it would have gotten a higher rating if the story was more fleshed out considering all these ladies history.

The Keeneston Roses is a beautiful and touching story about love, loss, and second chances. The infamous Rose sisters—Lily Rae, Daisy Mae, and Violet Fae—finally get their time in the spotlight, and their stories are every bit as compelling as expected. Each sister’s journey is unique: Lily’s heartbreak and unexpected reunion, Daisy’s long-buried love coming to the surface, and Violet’s whirlwind experiences in Paris that lead her back home. Brooks does an excellent job of intertwining these three love stories while keeping each sister’s arc distinct and engaging. The romance is heartfelt, and the themes of resilience and rediscovering love add an emotional richness to the book. The strong familial bond between the sisters adds another layer of warmth to the story, making it even more satisfying. The only drawback is that juggling three love stories means some aspects feel slightly underdeveloped, but overall, it’s a beautifully crafted tale of love enduring through the years.
What A sweet book this is! Love all the characters.... Love the interactions between all of the families, etc. I love how they all work together and support each other. I have only read one other Kathleen Brooks book before this one..... One that takes place after this one but I am looking forward to reading all of the Bluegrass series.... I want to know about all of these families featured so I will be doing a " Bluegrass" reading marathon! 😊. These books are sweet but also sexy and suspenseful.....filled with very interesting characters. I highly recommend them!!!
Wow was this book stuffed with information! Bless their hearts! They went through so much, and came out on top. Everyone in the town loves them as their own and protects them to boot! John still won't reveal how he learns gossip before Miss Lily!
All the rest of the info is coming fast and furious... everyone is grown up and the third generation is just starting... And who are the Rose' cousins anyway???
A wonderful read that takes us through bluegrass history and a review with some new stories of all our favorite couples…but most importantly shows the Roses at all stages of life and how their role in the town originated, The drink was made, and how love found them as well. The ending has me in tears …it was a perfect beautiful testament to them. And the hints of the younger generation sounds exciting for what all they get up to!
What a wonderful way to wrap around the distance pull the series together. I can't wait for more of the next generation. Kathleen does a great job following the characters through generations. Even if you didn't read the series, the sisters are hilarious and fun. But I recommend all of the Keeneston books. Go to Kathleen's page to find out more.
This tied up so many loose ends for me. I cried when Lily was heartbroken and I laughed when mom got the rolling pin out. I was DELIGHTED when she performed what I call frontier justice. Then I cried buckets when the parents were killed. This was the key, linking the town together. I can't wait to get the Meadows girls story.
What a read it had me upset one minute and happy the next it's about time the rose sisters had there happy ending, I absolutely love this one. Can't wait to read What s to come next.
Loved the history of the three Rose sisters! This books takes you from the time they were about 10 years old until they finally found their loves at the age of 90. You'll love the history and love in this book!
The Rose sisters mystique explained. Could not put the book down. Kept this old man reading and feeling the pain and joyous times of this amazing set of triplets. Thank you for another great story 😃
About the life of the Rose sisters, who they loved, who broke their hearts, and how they became Keeneston matchmakers. The story also tells the history of the town's people. The book takes you years into the future and picks up with the next generation.
Can I just say I love the Rose sisters? they are just so amazing! So glad we finally got to see what happened in their lives to make them who they are. Longer review to come.
I want to grow up to be the Rose sisters. So cute and funny and glad they got their happy endings. The charm bracelets at the wedding brought tears to my eyes.
