While the book has some helpful illustrations, most of the material reads as a Christian self help book.

This is a significant read to reinforce that God created each of us unique and on purpose.

T.D. Jakes has a creative way of expressing himself that brings out unique truth from the scriptures that speaks to a reader's heart. This book is encouraging and insightful.

Some of the concepts include - God created you on purpose, with everything you need. Destiny-Defining Moments chase you down, you don't have to chase them. If you believe your weaknesses can abort your Purpose, you live in agreement with the devil's lies. One Divine Moment orchestrated by the Master can shift things that have taken you a lifetime to change. Be Faithful where you are, God's plan will come to pass in your life.

Excellent book.

I bought this book years ago but never finished. Now, in attempt to write a blog post to encourage readers about their identity I re-unite with this book once again. Honestly, I don’t believe it would have been as convicting back then as it was today in the moment.

One main point I took away from this book is understanding that your purpose is found in God and God alone. The only thing God requires us to do is to be steadfast and obedient. Everything else is on God. At any moment in any season of your life God has the power to elevate you. However we have to remember everything we are able and capable of doing is all in God’s power, not our own.

Ahh.

So much more I could say, but I suggest you to pick a copy and read for yourself and discover how it speaks to you.

Such a mind blowing book.

Most concepts I thought were "it" were really not. God has our lives so uniquely imprinted it's so amazing.

I'm glad I read this book. Nothing is as refreshing as being reminded of our uniqueness in this earth and the roles that we carry.

Grab this book if your potential is unrealized, if your're uncertain of your identity. Trust me the Concept of Elisha and Elijah that Bishop T.D Jakes used to explain this matter will open your eyes and allow you to step into a life that is satisfactory.

Eye opening and powerful

TD Jakes gives great insight into who we are and how to find purpose in this book. His illustrations and insights into the lives of Elisha and Elijah are really good. His focus on doing well where we are and being faithful in our current season were just what I needed to hear. If you need motivating for the next season of your life or if you are struggling to get to the next season of your life, this book will help you I'm sure.

I read this book when I was supposed to. Identity, by T.D. Jakes, uses the story of Elijah and Elisha to show that everyone has a purpose and whether we know what that purpose is yet or not we should just keep doing what we are doing. He encourages us to be ready for God to promote us.

I didn’t realize I needed this book, especially chapter seven. He confirmed what I have been trying to live. I recommend this book for anyone waiting for their purpose to be revealed.

Very helpful book. Reminded the reader about the importance of waiting on God and not settling. I like the way Bishop Jakes formed the reminder as something to which we can all relate. Oftentimes, we get in the way of our blessings and say that is God. When, indeed, we really do need to trust and wait for the great blessings God truly has in store for us.

This book not only talks about our identity in Christ but proclaims it. Through the stories of bible (and especially Elisha’s) giving us examples how God is a purposeful God including giving us life and leading us in His wonderful ways.

I recommend the book to those who feel uncertain about meaning and direction of life. Very uplifting.

This book is just what I needed when I needed it! Bishop Jakes does NOT disappoint yet again. We all have a purpose, we just lose it when we try to be something else. I love this book!

This read spoke to my soul. In a time where identity is tied to one's social media presence, this read was breath of fresh air. It teaches how you have a purpose from God and don't get ahead of it or behind it. Do now manufacture it, just let God do it. Had me in tears.

Hmmm...it had a couple of good nuggets or sound bites to take with you. Doesn't tell you how to find your purpose, but it says find your identity in Christ and get ready and stay ready for when your time arrives. Quick read.

Lots of good nuggets but very redundant and lots of fluff. Could’ve been a bitter straight forward. But when you do find the nuggets, they are good and worth the read.

I guess because I read “Woman Thou Art Loose” first, this book didn’t have the fire in it that I was expecting.
