KIARA:
We should have never met.

But my plane was grounded, and this guy...he looked like he could take me places. He had gorgeous grey eyes, a tongue that cracked like a whip and a body stacked with purpose.

One sleepless night should have been enough. But he won't leave my mind. After everything I've been through, that's the surest sign I need to walk away.

Problem is, he's not just some businessman. He's rich. The sort of rich that makes the Kennedys look middle-class.

And he's not done with me.

A sexy, wealthy playboy trying to make you his? It's every girl's dream.

And it's the last thing I want.

Now someone tell my body that.

DEACON:
My family's been trying to cram a silver spoon in my mouth since the day I was born. I just keep spitting it out and do things my way.

When business goes really well, I allow myself a treat. And this girl, she was a feast: curvy hips, tender lips, sultry brown hair. Plus, a brain backing it all up.

She's the most perfect creature I've ever met. She thinks I'm gonna let her slip away after one taste?

Not a chance in hell, sweetheart.

Nothing's going to keep her from me.

Not work, not family.

Not even her.

Deacon is a sexy-sweet standalone novel with a well-earned HEA. It features sizzling banter, steamy sexual situations and intense drama. Mature audiences only! Please note, this title was previously published under a different name.

I have no idea why people think all muslim women are forced to maintain modesty...seriously..If I wanted to wear a bikini no one has the power to stop me except my own values. Freedom does not mean you are forced to adhere to social norms whether that's wearing a hijab or a mini skirt...freedom is when you can choose to wear either one without consequences or backlash. Also seriously with the blond comment??? Blond women are very intelligent just like the rest of the superior gender...I hate when people use stereotypes in their stories but doesn't do anything to dispel them....I would have really liked this book if it wasn't for those sexist stereotypes.

****3.5 Stars****

I consider myself a really big Paige Notaro fan, but this one just didn't quite do it for me. I'm admittedly not keen on the whole billionaire genre, and truthfully, this story was downright boring. There was no real conflict between the two characters other than their own stubbornness, well Kiara's if anything...

Deacon is a billionaire oilman, but he's not that cocky, alpha ding-a-ling that we come to expect with billionaire romances. He's essentially just a regular dude who was born into power and privilege. He's out to prove that he can be a boss in spite of his mother's and older brother's objections. Kiara is a nerdy, numbers cruncher who meets Deacon at the airport when they get snowed in. They have a night of passion (translation: hot, butt-nekkid sex) and basically go there separate ways the next day.

Fate (or some crafty intervention on Deacon's part) brings them together in a professional environment much to Deacon's delight and Kiara's horror. She's about her business and ain't trying to have some dude she randomly boinked mess up her hustle. And to add insult to injury, Kiara's pissed because she feels duped by Deacon for not disclosing he has mad loot. I'm like okay...was that a prerequisite for you screwing him? Huh???

This is basically the story. Back and forth, playing games, dealing with family drama...I just never felt that intense, passionate connection that Notaro is famous for injecting in her stories. It's not a bad read, it's just when you're used to a winning formula from an author you really love, and they don't deliver, it's a little disappointing...

And this is where I get off the crazy train. I just can't with the lead. Kiara is a wimpy, whiny wuss and I just can't do her. I tapped out when she had to have a whole inner dialogue about whether it was a wise business expense to get a hotel despite her flight being delayed. I mean, this chick is torn! So torn and in a tizzy she's thinking she should call someone in the company about it after hours My response reading this is led to this note: "OH GOD. She's one of those employees. Should I look to the left or to the right? Let me call and get guidance! These are the mofos who create and thrive under micromanaging. GAH, no. I don't think I can do her. She's creating a visceral response that involves punching." So again, this is where I tap out. I don't like working with spineless, wishy-washy people and definitely don't want to read about them.

I won't call the story crap because I haven't got far enough in, but I definitely can't do her.

I have read this author before and enjoyed her stories. Unfortunately for me this did not hit the mark.

The book started off with a bang which I loved and then went off the boil for me after that.

The books talks about Deacon and Kiara's life, careers and families. There was not enough romance or couple time for me. They were hardly together, we did not see enough of them being a couple, so therefore it did not really do it for me. This story did not need to be 300 pages, this story could have be told in under 200 pages. Just one person's view.

Disappointing read for me.

Books about Billionaire are not high on my list of priority but I'm a hugh fan of Paige Notaro, so I decided to have a go at Deacon. I absolutely enjoyed it. What started out as a chance meeting between Deacon and kiara quickly blossomed into a full blown romance. They descovered that they had so much in common. When they weren't steaming up the pages, they were standing side by side battling family members who were trying to trample them and undemine their love. Deacon's mother was a bitch and Kiara's mother was as dumb as f***. This is a $.99 full length book. Thank you Paige. Keep on doing what you've been doing.

An unexpected gem of a book!!

Every woman deserves a man like deacon in their lives. He was a true sexy alpha male. He knew what he wanted and wasn't afraid to fight for Kiara. Kiara fought her feelings for this man, but growing up with a crazy religious fanatic will do that to a gurl. Luckily Deacon didn't give up on that something special he saw in this woman. His mother shouldn't have that title, she was a straight up uncouth, racist, controlling bitch. She played her own sons against each other. This was a real page turner. Very much worth the read. I'm looking forward to the next story in line for this author.

Great Read

Not your typical billionaire story. Kiara and Deacon were a well matched passionate couple. They had a lot of obstacles to overcome but the problems were not fake sounding. Deacon respected Kiara and put her first over his ambitions and his family. His brother Jesse grew on me....I hope he gets his own story!

Once again this author does not disappoint. I read several of her books over six months ago and was browsing my recommended list in Kindle and came across this. Glad I didn't pass it by. I enjoyed it.

Awesome. This is definitely 5 stars. Intriguing storyline. Well developed characters. The chemistry between the main characters was amazing. And the sexy action was hot and deep.

Enjoyed

I really enjoy this author, some of her books are edgy and really fun to read. Love Deacon, do men like this even walk the earth? Oh well it's great to dream.

Loved story

Was disappointed a bit, especially when it came to grammatical errors. Loved where the story was carrying me. But spelling had me disappointed for sure.

Needed proof reading

Full disclosure, I could not finish this book. Only made it to about half way because I can't handle all the grammatical errors. It's very distracting and does not allow me to fully immerse myself in the story. I also found the writing a little disjointed. The story moved quickly but I never got a good description of the characters involved. I had to bail

Good read, very bad editing

I really liked this so
Tory. The writing was making g a lot of the story hard to follow. It makes it hard to get lost in a book if the editing is really crappy. Amazingly I actually finished the book. Most times I just return it and start a new one. My next question is, will there be a story about Jesse Stone?

Kiara and Deacon had serious chemistry.

Despite their successful careers, they weren’t perfect people by any stretch yet somehow they were exactly what each other needed. Together they were able to overcome childhood trauma and family drama.

This was a great read.

Wake Me Up When It's Over - DNF

I stopped reading this book at 26 percent and decided to take a nap instead. The book was confusing so bear with me. The book started out good. Deacon and Kiara met in the airport in Chicago. Unbeknownst to either of them, are both headed to Houston. Deacon was coming from North Dakota with his team and maybe catching a connecting flight. I don't know it was never really explained. Or maybe I missed it. Anyway, Kiara was checking out Deacon and then he came over to her and helped her get a hotel. Of course after hitting on her. Her hotel actually was his Pent house. They have a great night together and then leave. Deacon realizes he wants more and Kiara reluctantly agrees. Now from there the book goes down hill. Kiara has had sex with the man yet she doesn't want to allow him to take her out on a date. I'm so confused as to why but at this point I don't care. And this is the third book by this Author where I have read about people having sex but not much information about protection. I couldn't read anymore.

3·5 Star Rating

Quite a few missing words / misplace words but regardless of those none editing sections the book read well and if it wasn't for those nuisance mistake I would of given it a clean 4 stars rating. Well worth the money spent on this book, it did not drag and I loved the plot as well as the storyline. My first read from this author, no cliches or similarities which I've read before, most definitely will look out for another book by this author. Loved both female and male characters even the surrounding supporting characters, would love to read about Deacon's brother Jessie love as he seems to be in a rut when it comes to his love life plus it would be nice to catch up on Deacon and Kiara's life once again also Deacon's mother and if she eventually warms towards Kiara or if Jessie can hitch up with also a black woman does the mother turns her wrath on Jessie or does she blames Deacon for destroying and influences his brother. (Just as thought).

Cute novella

I am not sure how long the author has been writing however this ensemble of characters had great potential·Some parts were excellently written as the love affair between deacon and tiara. The stone solar project was informative and the improv sessions entertaining. However so much was left on the table with Mira's heritage, closure with tiaras abuse and the stones warped family values. I looked to see if there was more written for this ensemble but it looks like the author went another direction with a different series. I am open to reading the other works but this novella left me feeling cheated please fill in the voids. Tiaras mom has to do more than read some scriptures to be set free and Mrs stone in Russia really. How can that arranged marriage work out and will Antoine marry his partner????????

All Good

This was just a darn good solid story.I love when a story gets there chemistry right, right off the bat. This is a sexy romantic story of one bold and sexy man who's Deacon.Let me tell you every woman needs a little Deacon in her man. This is a well written and well rounded story of attraction and plain old-fashioned sexy romance. Both characters are strong willed without being overbearing and both are so likable. This is such a good story with a with worthy story to keep you interested and entertained. There are some dilemmas that Gove you pause but the writer handles them so well that you fall more in love with this story. This is a story you sink your teeth into and hold on.

First time reading this author so not sure if just writing and releasing as quickly as possible is this authors MO. But there were SO MANY spelling and grammatical errors I questioned whether English was her primary language or if this had been translated. I had to reread lines multiple times to understand. Which takes away from the story. Better editing and proofreading would have made this maybe a 3.5 star book. (She was at a coffee shop with a frigid coffee, 3 sentences later she was drinking Chai tea.) I did like the story. He wasn't the typical arrogant Alphahole you associate with billionaire playboys.

I really didn't like the way this book started off! Deacon was very cocky and sure of himself, I guess being a billionaire does that to you, but when I kept reading I found myself wanting Kiara to find the happiness she so longed for and Deacon seemed to make her happy so I wanted them to have their happily ever after. That mother of his is a trip and I wanted to smack her numerous times. I liked Jessie, Mira and Antoine and would love to read more about them in future novels. The only problem I had with this novel is there were many grammatical errors! Editing is definitely needed.

Nice book. Nice plot. Characters were believable and easy to relate to. Grammatical errors and unfitting wording didn't set well with me; however, it was a book I didn't want to put down until I finished it. The fact the the main two characters were facing similar family issues with different lifestyles was a nice touch. I could have done without the "improv" aspect it was just a nuisance that could have been left out of the book.

Love At First Sight

This book started off very slow for me at first, but eventually picked up as I continued to read it. Kiara and Deacon met at the airport and started a love fest. The chemistry between the two was intense and i was rooting for a happy ending for them. I really didn't care for either one of the mothers characters. But over all a good read.

I gave it 3 stars for grammatical errors.

Smart lady, rich hunk, fun romance

This story was fun from beginning to end. I hope Deacon's brother gets his own HEA. I really loved how the main character was so much more than her looks, owned her sexuality and spoke her mind. The relationship between the 2 characters was sexy but also really smart. I enjoyed seeing how they overcame the roadblocks put in their way. Fun, easy and well written read. Go on and read it!

A Great Read

I really enjoyed this book. Deacon and kiara met each other at the airport and spent the night together. They would not let family, work or money keep them apart. I really think this is what love looks like. I wish that his brother Jesse could fine a love like this. Hello I wish I can fine a love like this. Good job Paige Notaro.

It could have been better

I don't know if it's the writers fault or the publishers but the errors had me dizzy. Just a little more proof reading would have made a major difference. It was very confusing but the story line was a good one. It just was lost because of the numerous errors.

I loved this book. It had passion, romance, drama and all that good stuff. Anyone can tell that the main characters complimented each other. Whereas Deacon exude power and demanded respect, Kiara other hand exudes, a soft sense strength and intelligence that makes her perfect for her line of work. Now I can't wait to see what happens to Deacon's brother.
