2.5 - "I'm not entirely sure what I've done wrong." Stars.
Sadly I wasn’t really blown away by the first book in the Amalfi Night Billionaires series. Rocco De Luca, ex F1 Racing Champion and Steffi Harlan (his brother’s assistant) really didn’t have that much chemistry going on between them.
”I’m more than you think I am.”
My main issue though was the fact that Steffi blew hot and cold throughout pretty much the whole book, from one paragraph to the next she was either denying her attraction to Rocco, then admitting it, then saying they couldn’t because of her job, then giving in and doing it with him anyway.
Rocco the troublemaker and Steffi the enforcer.
It went on too long for me, add into the fact she was also pretty judgemental about him, without actually knowing that much about him on a personal level, and I struggled to understand why Rocco would be bothering with her after a while.
Being the first book in the series, I have hope that this is just a small blip and that the rest of the books will be stellar, sometimes a character just rubs a reader up the wrong way, and that was definitely the case for me on this occasion.

5/10 from me, I wanted to like the book and story more than I actually did.
Whilst, this was a freebie via a notification form Bookbub, I did expect more from it. In my opinion it needed far better proof reading and editing. I found it distracted me and found myself reading certain passages again to make sense of them.
When Steffi's boss Rocco's brother goes away. Steffi is left in charge of running the business and trying to keep an eye on Rocco, who has been tasked with helping out in his brother Matteo's absence. However, Rocco is used to getting his own way and it's not long before it's him trying to take charge and Steffi is one person that he is very keen to take charge over in more ways than one.

This is the first book in the Amalfi Night Billionaires series, each one is written by a different author with visiting characters from previous books in them. However, it can be read as a standalone and this is what I'll be doing as I doubt my enjoyment of the others will be any better.
There is a bonus addition in this book of another story by Katherine Gerbera called No Rest for the Wicked, I will be reading this one too as I'm keen to compare the writing in them both. I might be pleasantly surprised.

Excellent start to what should be a great new series. The writing and the characters make this a quick fun read. Rocco De Luca has always lived life fast and hard. Now that he has reached his goal of winning the Formula 1 series he's hanging up his racing gear and donning a suit to take his place in the family hotel business. Steffi Harlan is good at her job. Never did she think that would have her babysitting the De Luca family playboy. Charged with making sure Rocco stays out of trouble while her boss Mateo is out of town proves to be a bit difficult when the trouble he is getting into is her!!
I really enjoyed this one and would definitely recommend it.

This is a fast paced novella that is opening up the Amalfi Night Series. Ms. Garbera has brought her usual flair and fascinating plot structure to the story. While it is a wonderful baseline I admit I was a little disappointed in some of the depth of the story and the characters. However, I do find it a great opening to a group of brothers I want to know more about. So for a quick read to open a series take a chance and a bit of temptation……

The Billionaire's Temptation was a quick, hot and entertaining read.
The storyline was engaging and kept me turning the pages, it had the perfect amount of drama to keep me interested in both characters and cheering for their HEA.

Read this book for an honest review I love this story it is about Rocco a formula one driver he going back to the family business after retiring from racing but he always been a playboy. He always felt a spark with Steffi his brother Mateo assistant. I love both of Rocco and Steffi chemistry and how they both make each other better people.

There are times Rocco really doesn't have finesse, “why did you leave my bed so quickly?” Her hand went slack and her pen fell to the floor." This was a quick enjoyable read. I really liked Rocco he was a good guy and not what the media made him out to be.

I was so excited to start this series but sadly I just did not connect with this book. Not only did I not feel a connection with either Steffi or Rocco but I never felt any chemistry between the two of them.
Will try the second book - may just be this couple that did not engage me.

I skipped more than I read in this book. The storyline was weak and it was graphic. I probably should have known from the title but I had read another in this series that was much better and not graphic. Needless to say I won't be reading another.

Nice romance
I liked the story and the initial portion of the story had drama, detail, and depth. But then it lost the depth and it sort of glassed over. There were a few time line miss steps in the text. I was so hoping for a long love story for Steffi and Rocco.

Finding love at work?
I enjoyed both of these stories that involved finding love at the work place. They were well written and had a few surprises in them.

The Billionaire’s Temptation is a sensuous, emotional and simply fun tale of two people who live in their own fast lanes and the sparks that explode when their paths finally meet. Steffi has worked for the De Luca’s resort as assistant to the president for years. Now she’s close to a big promotion which she wants badly and is fully capable of handling. Her intelligence and elegance combines for the perfect touch for the promotion her boss intends to offer her, once he returns and once she successfully handles the hotel and his younger brother in his absence.
Rocco is well simply put, sin walking. Handsome, wealthy, a Formula One champion – Rocco is a walking billboard for playboy. And the public and the media see that side of him. But now he’s bored. No challenges to distract him and longing for something. Perhaps his age is catching up with him but he wants something more to show his brother that he is capable of handling his position at the hotel. He wants Steffi but not in the usual take a woman for a night and leave fashion of his past. Steffi intrigues him, on some level makes him need to show off the sides of him that he’s kept hidden. She is the one for him, now his challenge is not only to do well at the family business but to capture the heart of one very special woman as well. One that will last a lifetime.
Steffi has the passion of her father and the caution of her mother waring for dominance within her. She is so attracted to Rocco and believes the public persona he dishes out. The last thing she wants is to babysit this handsome devil, no she’d much rather explore the passion that she suspects he has for her as she does for him. She hadn’t considered that she would come to love him, or dared to hope that he might return that feeling. Knowing she’s heading for heartache won’t stop her from enjoying what they have together for as long as she can.
Sparks fly and the love gets hot and heavy in The Billionaire’s Temptation. I enjoyed this one immensely, and as with most first novels in a series there were lots of delicious clues and breadcrumbs scattered about with secondary characters that I’m certain we will learn more about in the coming weeks.

Having just read a book which I didn’t really enjoy, I knew just who to look out for! This is another great story from Katherine Garbera, with a fantastic location, great characters and a riveting plot - her stories never fail to please!
The De Luca family have a growing chain of hotels and one is on the island where they usually live, Isola del Fiori. Ex F1 champion, Rocco De Luca, has returned to the island to fill in for his older brother for a few weeks. He renews his acquaintanceship with another senior executive at the hotel, Steffi Harlan who is tasked with keeping him out of bother and keeping the hotel running smoothly. Little did he know how attracted to her he would be and when the two get together there’s a volatile reaction! She, however, doesn’t trust playboys or indulge in one night stands. He doesn’t believe in long term relationships and happily ever afters. She likes to plan, to have goals and strategies to help her - he likes to win and isn’t sure what he wants to do with his life. With such contrasting attitudes and seeing attraction, will their love ever stand a chance to develop?
I was right, Katherine Garbera has written another enthralling story for readers to immerse themselves in and enjoy. Her characters are robust, complex and believable. Her plots are never straightforward, there are always twists, turn and angst for the characters to live through to achieve their HEA, making them great stories to escape into. This is a superb start to a new series - I’ll certainly be looking out for further stories in this series - and by this author - in future.

The Billionaire's Temptation is a spicy, fast paced, great introduction to the Amalfi Night Billionaires Book series. Katherine does a great job with this plot, showing that assumptions can be hurtful...and wrong! There is a lot going on under the surface of people, especially someone like Rocco.
Steffi is very happy in her job, her place in life right now. She has no desire to get involved with anyone like Rocco...even if he does make her think thoughts she shouldn't be thinking about him. Rocco is just as enchanted by Steffi and even though they believe in different things, their wants might be more in tune with each others than even they'd have though. Even though they must work together, Rocco thinks Steffi is worth pursuing, and that he does. The push and pull, insecurities in both of them, and those assumptions make their journey a very bumpy one. When they finally give in and things sizzle when they are together, Steffi is still convinced there is no future and that Rocco will never settle down. Will Rocco believe Steffi is worth the risk of proving her wrong? Or will both of them get their hearts broken?
I liked the setting and general plot of The Billionaire's Temptation. I liked the background's and inner thoughts I was privy to as a reader, and Katherine did a great job of bringing Steffi and Rocco to life.
The secondary characters also spiked my curiosity, but in no way did they distract from the book. They just added so much more depth and reality!

Steffi is very happy in her job, her place in life right now. She has no desire to get involved with anyone like Rocco...even if he does make her think thoughts she shouldn't be thinking about him. Rocco is just as enchanted by Steffi and even though they believe in different things, their wants might be more in tune with each others than even they'd have though. Even though they must work together, Rocco thinks Steffi is worth pursuing, and that he does. The push and pull, insecurities in both of them, and those assumptions make their journey a very bumpy one. When they finally give in and things sizzle when they are together, Steffi is still convinced there is no future and that Rocco will never settle down. Will Rocco believe Steffi is worth the risk of proving her wrong? Or will both of them get their hearts broken?
I liked the setting and general plot of The Billionaire's Temptation. I liked the background's and inner thoughts I was privy to as a reader, and Katherine did a great job of bringing Steffi and Rocco to life.

Rocco loves women and fast cars and hanging out with his best friend. When he is called into work his families business why his older brother is off on business he is non to happy about it and when he finds out his brothers assistant will be "Baby sitting" him he's not very thrilled about that but is all to happy to find the silver lining since he can never turn down being around a beautiful women. Steffi has one thing on her plate and mind how to make it to be the executive of the company in which she is working. When she gets called into her bosses off and told she will beed to keep his playboy brother in check while the boss is away she is not to mad about it since she has had many fantasy staring Rocco not that anyone including these two men need to know that. She lives by her dads rules of life an plans on sticking to it since thats what life is all about.
The storyline is not deep which is nice for a change from other books. Its fun and lively and has a ton of chemistry popping off the pages. It keeps you on your toes and you drawn into this crazy life of a playboy and the girl who wants to show him a little responsibility. I like how the author did a good job at portraying the characters as they could be anyone not just a billionaire and the fun of each one of the characters. If you are looking for a book with lots of fun and a cute love story this is the book for you and you really won't be disappointed.

Every now and then I read one of these billionaire stories, this one I picked up because of the author. But I wasn't that impressed with the characters, or maybe I was expecting too much for a novella. I was looking forward to some major character development, with the playboy turns into a more responsible and respectable man, and the 'all work no play' assistant relaxing a bit, but sadly, I didn't really see either of these happening.
Rocco says there's more to him than just the playboy, but after a couple days of work, he gets off Steffi's bed in a morning, and go gets drunk with his best friend and four women, and the next morning when he wakes up and doesn't really remember the day before, he checks out to make sure he woke up alone, cause 'he wouldn't cheat on Steffi'. Really?
Steffi blows hot and cold towards Rocco, who has no idea what to do with her or how to be in a relationship. Steffi has issues with her father, her half-sister, even anger towards her mother. And she doesn't respect or accept Rocco's lifestyle.
I didn't feel the chemistry between these two characters, I did agree with Steffi that they didn't really have anything in common, that they could build a lasting relationship.
The environment and surroundings for this series sounds enticing, and the setting was very romantic, as well as the dates Rocco took Steffi on, Rocco just didn't convince me that there was more to him than the famous playboy that he is

Billionaire's Temptation is an exotic little book set in a luxury Amalfi Coast resort owned by the de Luca family and run by oldest brother Matteo. Next in line, retired F1 driver Rocco has a reputation as a playboy and spends his life travelling the world with beautiful women on his arm.
Stefi Harlan is Matteo's assistant and is bright, hard working, beautiful and classically elegant. She and Rocco are poles apart though she's harboured a secret crush on him for years.
There were things I liked about this book and others that really detracted from it for me.
One big feature on the like side was the beautiful setting. I imagined something like Monaco, with gorgeous coastline and pretty beaches, luscious buildings and the sort of cars you dream of owning.
On the down side, I found the sex scenes rather clinical, which detracted from the story in a big way. As for the characters, well frankly I didn't warm to them. I didn't loathe them but men who stroll around hotels dressed in nothing but their bathers strike me as shallow, and while Stefi did nothing to make me dislike her she also did nothing to bring me into her corner. Overall, this was quite a nice read but for me not a page turner.

I received a copy of this book through Tule Publishing for an honest review. I definitely liked this book and think it's a great start to a new series written by different authors about (4?) brothers. I really liked Rocco and that he has this public image of a playboy, but that's not who he really is or wants to be. The story takes place over a short amount of time so a few scenes are longer than most. This is where I became frustrated with Steffi being in her own head too much and going back and forth. She's pretty stubborn and has easily misinterpreted the rules of living her father gave her. The last 1/3 of the book is what I liked the most. We got out of only Steffi's head and more into misunderstandings and actual conflict. Rocco's shiny book boyfriend status took a hit when he used something personal she told him against her. The combination of all of that picked up the pace and enjoyment of the book for me. I'm excited to read the next few books of this series. I can't stop thinking about one thing - when Matteo returns from his trip, I'm sure he's going to surprised what's happened over two weeks with his assistant and brother!

Now he feels restless and dissatisfied. Can these polar opposites find happiness together? I loved the battle of wills between Steffi and Rocco. When they are together sparks fly. I wasn't sure that she would be able to trust Rocco. His past exploits were not reassuring. The setting is the perfect backdrop for romance. How could they resist with such beauty and luxury surrounding them. Katherine Garbera knows how to write a sensual story. The characters have amazing sexual chemistry. The Billionaire's Temptation is an enjoyable romantic tale. I'm looking forward to the second Amalfi Nights Romance.

Steffi Harlan worked for Mateo. Mateo's brother was Rocco. Rocco was a Formula 1 racing champion. Rocco and Steffi were to take over the family hotel business while Mateo was in Venice. Steffi had been attracted to Rocco for awhile. Now it seemed he was attracted to her.
Steffi had been living by a strict code of rules, but that was before spending time with Rocco. I loved the way she changed and grew, discovering how she really felt. After Rocco had been the Formula 1 champion, he was at loose ends. When left with the co-running of his family's hotel, he too changed and grew. He found something he never realized he was looking for.
The book contained good characters and plot. Overall it was a good story. I highly recommend to anyone that likes this genre.

I found this to be a fast paced, very simple romance, with clearly great sexual chemistry between Rocco and Steffi.
It is set on the wonderful Amalfi Coast, which sounds very picturesque, but since the book was so short, I found there to be very little depth to the story, so you had to take the characters at face value. They were both clearly suffering from issues relating to their parents, but it was more passed in mentioning than giving you a proper insight.
I was originally interested in this book as I have read a previous Katherine Garbera book and enjoyed it, as well as being intrigued by an ex-F1 champion (you don't come across them often), but unfortunately on this occasion I found it came up short.

The Billionaire's Temptation by Katherine Garbera is an enjoyable good start to a new Tule Publishing Series. It has a sleek European cosmopolitan feel to it, the very opposite of the Montana books. Rocco is deeper than the shallow playboy he has been labeled. He is charming and likable. Steffi is the typical hard working assistant who needs a bit shaking up. Both seem to help the other to grow out of their parent’s long shadows.
The setting is wonderful and the plot light especially with the quickly solved lifestyle issue between Rocco and Steffi. I do think in real life that it would take considerable more work for their relationship to succeed. Still it is a entertaining read for a lazy afternoon.

A great start to a new series, Amalfi Night Billionaires. This story will take you to exotic location of Isola del Fiori. Rocco Deluca, has lived life in the fast lane and has decided to give up his race car driving and help in the family hotel for a few weeks while his brother is gone. Steffi Harlan, senior executive of the hotel, has been put in charge of babysitting, Rocco for the next two weeks. Steffi, is to smart to fall for the playboy, Rocco, or she thought. They heat up the nights to come. Steffi believes that Love makes fools of everyone, until she meets Rocco.
This is a page turner of very likable, believable characters with twists and turns in the story. I highly recommend this story of hot quick read. I received this book from Netgalley for an honest review.

Boy, wouldn't it be great to get matched up to a billionaire! The world would be a much better place. I like to read Katherine's books. She did write a story line that gives us a look at how some rich live. Rocco is pictured as a playboy. He really says he isn't. Steffi is assistant to the Hotel owner. He takes a business trip and she is in charge of Rocco who takes his brother's place. He has been attracted to Steffi and she is attracted to him. It was a mess watching them try to figure out each other. If you like hotels, race cars and friends then give this book a chance. It is a short read. Enjoy this story! I have this book for an honest review for NetGalley.
