When my sister Isabelle showed up, just ahead of a tropical storm, nostalgia and a need to reconnect took us on a ride…directly into the eye of a different kind of disaster. I woke from a coma unaware that I even had a twin and married to a man with two little girls. Although I fell madly in love with the children that I didn’t remember, I didn’t feel like I belonged with Paxton Pierce. I couldn’t be who he wanted me to be no matter how hard I tried. But things aren’t always as they seem. I fought my own demons, trying not to be the submissive he required me to be, yet I craved it like a drug. I wanted him.
Once upon a time I was an identical twin.
And then I wasn’t.

Suit was one of those books that kept me on the edge of my seat, made me feel conflicted and confused at times and really threw me for a loop. Just when I thought I *maybe* had things figured out, I got another curve ball thrown right at me at the end. I recommend when you read this book, read it with someone or talk it out with someone else who’s read it. Otherwise you’ll have all these theories and feelings and no one to share them with!

To wake up in a hospital and not know who you are… that’s something that would be difficult and scary for anyone. But to wake up like that and be greeted by a husband who is cruel more often than not, to have two daughters you don’t even know and not remember anything but a few scattered memories from your past… that’s just terrifying. Paxton Pierce is not a kind man. At least not when it comes to Gabriella. As the story goes on, he has his moments. He is one of those characters I hated to love and loved to hate.

Reviewing this book is so difficult. I loved that I went in fairly blind and had no idea what was coming. I was genuinely surprised throughout the story. As the story progressed, I grew to love the heroine and even like the hero at times. I have no idea what direction the next book will take, but one thing is for certain- I’m thrilled that it’s going to be released next month. I don’t want to wait any longer than I have to to find out what happens next! Jettie did a fantastic job with this book. If you’re looking for an unconventional romance/thrilling story that will keep you guessing, I would recommend Suit.

"You have everything to suit your needs, and I have you. My slut, to suit mine.”

Can you imagine waking up one day a stranger to your own body and mind? Can you imagine waking up facing off with a handsome devil, only to find out he's your husband, and with him you have two beautiful daughters? Can you imagine waking up being forced back into a life you'd can't remember? Well for Gabriella, that is her fate, her hell and it all started with forgetting to buy some milk.
I was blessed with nice everything. A nice home. A nice car. Beautiful children. A pool right outside my room. The ocean, just a couple-hundred-feet from there. And one fucked up marriage. I was a kept woman. Black and white. Red and Green.

I was a glorified whore.

Gabriella is struggling to accept the reality that is "her" life, she can't imagine how she ever survived all these years, where every thought, every choice is not her own, but that of her husband. Her thoughts, her clothes, her orgasms; every minute of every day is planned by Paxton. That was their arrangement, until she decided to change the rules of the game on him.
Paxton and his power trip degraded me with elegance. Like it was his honorable duty to disgrace me with dignity.

Paxton is thrown off kilter, pissed at the change in their routine but even more aroused by her brattiness. He thrives off of the control he has with Gabriella, but keeping her in line and getting his household back to "their" normal is prooving to be a much bigger task than he anticipated.
Paxton told me what to do. I did it.

Paxton told me to jump. I asked how high.

Paxton made my decisions. I let him.

Paxton owned my body. I was his slut.

Mind, body, and soul, he possessed me.

There is a very thin line between love and hate; for what initially started off as disgust and annoyance turned into something a little more. All it took was seeing each other in a different light. But what happens when your world is threatened yet again, do you simply go on or do you entertain the truth that can tear everything apart.
“I’m not ready to hand over my happy. I feel like it’s my turn. Like I deserve it. Ya know?”

I wasn't sure what to expect, Suit definitely sounded intriguing with it's premise, but it is all that and more. It is layers upon layers of angst, emotion and mystery. We know what we know, but it isn't the entire truth, we can formulate assumptions but it may not be correct. As a reader we are right there living with Gabriella trying to unravel her past while coming to terms with today. Plus realizing her desires and needs tend to run on the kinkier / naughtier side, makes this tale a little bit more intoxicating.

I have to say if I had a choice between the Gabriella I met before the accident and after, I would have gone with the after, memory loss and all. There is something haunting her and it is finding it's way into her life. Paxton you will hate, no joke, I pegged him for the ultimate asshole, BUT through their story he grew on me; realizing there is so much more to him than meets the eye. I am excited to see how they develop in the next book, because I still have my never ending questions of why...

An unforgettable story with an equally unforgettable ending, leaving us wanting more. Luckily for us October is not a long wait, we simply must behave and hope it comes even sooner, lol. I recommend this to my friends who love a little mystery with their kink, and can fall in love with a hard man flaws and all.

This was my first read by Jettie Woodruff, so obviously I didn’t know what to expect. “Suit” was not exactly what I expected, but it was a very unique read. It was a mind blowing read that kept me at the edge of seat and made me question everything I was reading. The story was intriguing and I was hooked from the prologue which I found very smart.

Gabriella wakes up in a hospital after being in a car accident. It seems she’s married and has two little girls. She has no recollections of who she was before the accident or where she had come from. Everything is dark in her world.

“I just wanted to wake up and know. Know everything. None of this was right. I didn’t feel like Gabriella Pierce.”

The man who says he’s her husband, Paxton is an intimidating man to say the least. It seems that for six years he controlled everything in Gabriella’s life – her clothes, her friends, her daily activities and even her orgasms. Gabriella can tell Paxton is not a good man. She doesn’t know how to act around him, how to feel towards him or how to talk with him. If at the beginning, she’s a coward being a good little submissive, as the story progresses she wants to change the game, the rules and obviously her relationship with Paxton. As the story unfolds, our heroine starts to feel more for the 'stranger' who apparently is her husband. Paxton as well starts to change and his feelings for his wife seem to change with each and every day.

“Why can’t you go back to being you? Being us?”
“Is that what you want?”
“No.”

Their relationship change as well and Paxton is more intrigued and more attracted with his ‘new’ wife with each passing day. As the story progresses, Gabriella starts to remember her childhood and also her strong bond with her twin. Also, some interesting secrets about her life before the accident are reveled.

description

From the blurb you can tell this read is suspenseful, but it certainly was more than that. The author delivered a fascinating tale, a perfect mix of angst, steam and mystery. As I mentioned at the beginning of my review, I questioned everything I was reading. Nothing it is what it seems to be. You definitely have to keep that in mind.

Gabriella before the accident was,…well, a little boring. She felt a little flat to me, but Gabriella after the accident, that apparently changed her life irrevocably was a tough cookie. She’s not a boring submissive anymore. She’s a changed woman. Needless to say I liked more the ‘new version’.

Paxton was a character you will love to hate and hate to love. He was intriguing, a mystery, craving control most than anything. I’m not gonna lie, he got on my nerves more times than I can count. Damn, he was so infuriating. I can’t say he grew on me too much, but I definitely saw a change in him that I liked after some point. These two main characters were well developed, Paxton’s character maybe a little better IMO, even if the entire story is told from the female MC’s POV.

“It didn’t matter that we both felt the pull. That unquestionable attraction that kept us tangled in this web of deception. Something stronger always pushed us apart.”

I loved Gabriella and Paxton’s dynamic. Their love-hate relationship was just great. The steam aspect was terrifically done as well. The sex scenes were intense, sexy and honestly they left me wanting more. As for the chemistry between them, wow…combustible.

I still have a lot of questions, so I’m really looking forward to read the next installments.

Overall, a great interesting read that will keep you guessing from start to finish.

This book was absolutely mind blowing, I mean, WOW!!!
You know that expression, hurts so good? That's exactly how I felt about this puzzling story. Reading this book was almost like getting high, Suit took me on a powerful and delectable trip, now leaving me strung out and full of emotions.

 photo 1c977ed6-5bd0-439e-ab9e-980e77711bb8_zpsgqhvzt55.jpg

Gabriella wakes up in a hospital after being in a terrible car accident. She was in an induced coma for a few days. Now she's opened her eyes to face the physical pain of broken bones and a reality of having a husband and two kids, she can't remember, no matter how hard she tries. Her husband Paxton is very handsome but his mood changes every five minutes, making Gabriella confused and afraid about the life that is waiting for her outside the hospital doors. Even though the doctor explained to her that it's not unusual to have memory loss after suffering such a traumatic accident, she's desperate to remember, because she can't understand how she married such a beautiful monster.

Gabby comes back to a beautiful beach front house where she has everything a woman can wish for. She has two gorgeous daughters and a sexy husband and even though she can't remember anything about her life, she seems to have done well for herself, except her husband acts as if he hates her.

Her husband Paxton is controlling and very cruel, but he makes her skin tingle with lust with just a smirk and grants her the most explosive orgasms. He gives her immense pleasure through pain and she can't understand why her body enjoys something her brain can't comprehend, but she's become addicted to Paxton.

Gabby is not weak in any way. She stands up to Paxton and thrives in the punishments he gives her, making him crazy because he likes to dominate every aspect of their relationship. He craves control but this woman is not the submissive wife she once was; everything about her is different now. He's going crazy with need for her. Gabby is turning his once systematic world into a decadent chaos.

Gabby's mind still doesn't remember anything about her marriage or children, but every time she goes to sleep she has dreams about her sister and her mother. Her memories are bittersweet events of a difficult childhood. But it seems that life has been buried deep, because not even her husband can give her any answers about her estranged family.

Gabriella and Paxton are the best and most loving parents to their little girls, and from the outside they seemed like the most perfect couple. But behind closed doors they battle with a love/hate relationship that has them both close to the edge of a very dangerous cliff, and scared that neither of them will be able to survive the fall.

I really loved hating, Paxton. One minute I wanted Gabby to kick him in the balls and the next I was so excited to see even the tiniest hope in his eyes, for a better future with her. This book is a total mind-fuck. It made me crazy and desperate with need to find the answers that would give me a clearer picture of what was going on. I must admit that this is my favorite type of reads, the ones where the author is constantly playing with my emotions, leaving me breathless and desperate for more... I'll be counting down the days until I get the next book.

Separated twin sisters Gabriella and Isabella reunite after being apart for thirteen years. Upon reuniting, a car accident occurs where a reader isn’t sure which sister’s pov we are reading because she doesn’t have any memories. Gabriella's husband, Paxton Price brings her home to her two children and continues his abusive behavior.

"Paxton told me what to do. I did it. Paxton told me to jump. I asked how high. Paxton made my decisions. I let him. Paxton owned my body. I was his slut. Mind, body, and soul, he possessed me."

Gabriella is confused as to why she would marry a man who dictates her every step but on the other hand she’s pretty turned on by him as well.

”Paxton did things to me. Things I couldn’t explain. My body reacted to him like- danger. A thrill seeker.”

Slowly memories of her childhood start to reveal her past meanwhile she tries to follow Paxton’s rules and questions why the hell would she marry and put up with this guy?

description

Readers will have a several questions like: Is she Isabella? Is she Gabriella? What type of deal did one of these woman make with Paxton Price? What the hell is wrong with Paxton Price? Did she have an affair with Lane? Are these kids even hers?

I really enjoyed this story and felt that the pacing was excellent. The author takes a reader from being tortured and controlled to Paxton loosening up his hold if ever so slightly and start to fall for his wife.

I must admit that I chuckled every single time Paxton said:

”And stop calling me Pax.”

Gabriella falls into her routine but also starts to fall hard for her husband. The mystery and suspense was very well played and I’m jumping into the next book immediately because this ending should be read with book 2 already one clicked and loaded!

Genre: Romantic Suspense
Type: Book 1 of 2 from The Twin Duo series
POV: First Person -Female
Rating:

Gabriella Pierced woke up from a coma not knowing anything about herself, including the existence of a long lost twin sister. She had to deal with an instant family of a husband and two beautiful daughters while trying hard to recover the past.

Paxton Pierce was used to having control over his life and family. But the traumatic event slowly made him questions his own believes and emotions. Things are bound to get messy when the couple’s needs and wants clashed.

What first caught my attention about this book/series was the twin story. I expected it to be dark, but turned out it wasn’t quite that – only on the surface, but I still enjoyed it anyway.

Paxton commanded my attention since the beginning. His hot and cold persona changed directions and devastated like a rogue wave. He made me both hate him and love him at the same time.

I didn’t want be weak in front of him. I didn’t want him to see the things he caused deep in my soul.

I’ve always love being in the mind of an amnesiac – for their fear, confusion and frustration. I could definitely feel all that through Gabriella. I also love how she adapted and at times took advantage of her situation.

The story started really strong with an intriguing prologue. It incidentally planted ideas in my head, and by the end of the book, I’m still not sure what’s right/wrong or true/false because I’m thinking maybe there would even more twist which would make the series more interesting – or it could be just my wishful thinking for it to be more.

I did felt the middle part until quite the end was a bit dragging. And there were still a lot of questions unanswered. I know it’s a two-part book and it would (hopefully) be answered in the finale, but as a reader, I like to be enticed instead of deprived. Another thing is the numerous grammatical errors. I don’t usually comment on this because I am not a writer and English is my second language, but it was too glaring and distracting not to mention.

It didn’t matter that we both felt the pull. That unquestionable attraction that kept us tangled in this web of deception. Something stronger always pushed us apart.

I love the volatile chemistry between Paxton and Gabriella. The tension/attraction between them was palpable and I expected the sex scenes to be explosive. But I was disappointed that they were sexier during their “foreplays” than the actual act.

Suit is a story of a woman’s struggle in remembering her past while accepting her future. It would appeal to readers who love romantic suspense with a little hint of darkness.

Gabriella Pierce is a 25 yr. old woman living in Florida with her husband Paxton & her two girls. She lives a life that is not really her own. Controlled by a husband that views her as his property & play toy, everything about her life is decided for her. An accident will soon change everything. Gabriella wakes up from a coma with amnesia. She has a hot as hell husband & two children she doesn't remember. She quickly learns she has a messed up marriage where her husband has all the control. Even though she doesn't feel like she belongs, she tries her best to please him & make the most of her situation. She feels this undeniable attraction & pull towards Paxton & can't help how her body reacts to his touch. For whatever reason, she didn't want to be anywhere else, & began to feel safe in his arms.

 photo 20c4ef10-2ea8-4c2e-8049-a5285f844360_zpsypshpxf5.jpg

-I was so confused. One second this guy was a threat, and the next he was intoxicating.

-Paxton told me what to do. I did it. Paxton told me to jump. I asked how high. Paxton made my decisions. I let him. Paxton owned my body. I was his slut.

-Paxton was the most difficult man on earth, and I was fascinated by him.

 photo e38dde4c-e19a-48f4-9326-a4604fdbeae8_zpsjkaihqv0.jpg

After the accident everything changed, & Paxton wants things to go back to how they were. He wants his robot, his yes girl, & this wasn't the same Gabriella. She didn't seem to fear him, or conform to his rules. He just didn't know what to do with this new version of Gabriella. The way she responded to his touch drove him wild. This Gabriella without any memories couldn't get enough of him & everything he did to her.

 photo 3965f66e-eb25-4187-bc76-41918e5a2cf2_zpsnd5s838p.jpg

-Everything spun around me while erotic endorphins submerged my mind, body, and soul. The devil's drug. Powerful. Exhilarating. Passionate. Potent. And addicting. Extremely addicting. I was hooked on Paxton.

-There was no way in hell that Paxton could deny this. This searing pull between us. My glitter danced in his heart. I knew it did.

 photo c2689ef8-16db-4353-9eb7-b826950af4e2_zpsjtoh05ma.jpg

Paxton was often this cruel, cold, detached man, but when he began showing glimpses of a softer side it hit Gabriella right in the heart. Slowly things became real between them, & Gabriella was breaking through Paxton's hard shell & causing him to feel things he doesn't want to feel. She begins to feel like she matters to him, & when she gets one of his beautiful smiles, she melts. This wasn't your hearts and flowers kind of romance. This is one of those books where I couldn't stand the guy at first & probably shouldn't like him, but OMG I couldn't get enough of the sexy, arrogant, controlling Paxton Pierce! He is absolutely DELICIOUS!!! I really don't think any woman with a pulse could resist this man. He can be a total ass, but definitely has potential. ;)) His bark is worse than his bite, & when he was with his girls he was positively dreamy! This was such a fabulous book! It had me guessing throughout & we get a lot of mystery surrounding Gabriella & her twin Isabella. Can't wait to see what happens next! :D

 photo 372834E8-3125-4BC5-8A87-6377D525B991_zpstktz2z7f.gif

-We had an agreement. This was never supposed to be this. Whatever this is between us.

-"You're too busy trying to make me someone I don't remember to enjoy what we have here."

-There was something there. Something neither of us could deny. If Paxton didn't feel what I felt when we touched, when we kissed, and when we made love, there was something seriously wrong with him. It was there. He had to feel it, too.

Hands down, one of the BEST mindfucks I've read this year!

I love a book that makes me think. A book where I try, page after page, to figure out all the answers. Reading as much as I do, it’s become more and more difficult to find a book that keeps me guessing… Or in this case, second guessing every theory I could come up with. And, boy oh boy, did I ever second guess myself with this one. There was one point, where my brain was twisted in a knot so tight, that I had to stop and stare off into space for a minute just to wrap my brain around the new revelations.

I had read the blurb (which at the time was very vague), but otherwise I went into this book blind. And I’m so glad I did! So, I’ll do you the same favor and not spoil it for you. What I can tell you is that it’s told in first person present tense and solely from Gabriella’s pov. The characters are interesting and dynamic, the plot flows, and the intrigue is never ending. Seriously, my mind is still spinning with theories. This book did have a cliffhanger, but - thankfully - the next book is out in November. And I CAN’T WAIT to get my hands on it!

*The author provided a copy in exchange for an honest review.*
*This review is based on the early unedited version. Some things may have changed in the published version.*

Side note:
I’ve had a lot of people ask about this book, so I thought I’d add their questions here:

“How dark is this book?”

I found it to be on the lighter side. But, I’ve read A LOT of dark books, so I might be a bit desensitized. There are some scenes that thread the needle or could be a trigger to some. Just know that everything that happens has a reason for being in the story.

“Is there any romance?”

Um… Yes. That’s it. That’s all you're getting. LOL.

Holy hell, talk about a book staying with you! I go into the majority of books blind, so when I started Suit I had no idea what to expect. Regardless, not even the blurb can prepare you for the rollercoaster of emotions I felt while reading.

“You can’t be serious. I don’t even know my name. You can’t just send me home with someone I don’t know.”

Gabby and Izzy are twins, but based on the limited interactions we see it’s obvious they couldn’t be more different. Izzy is a free spirit and lives by the moment. Gabby is married, the mother to two little girls and similar to a Stepford Wife. When the two woman are involved in an accident everything changes. Gabby wakes up in a hospital with no recollection of her past.

Paxton is Gabby’s husband and it’s safe to say he isn’t an easy man to love, honestly at times I hated him. He is mean spirited, short tempered and cruel at moments. However, I just felt like there is more to him. I was immediately intrigued by his character and was dying to know more.

Gabby and Paxton together is tumultuous and at times ugly. Their relationship was explosive, but I couldn’t look away if I tried. I absolutely loved watching things unfold. With Gabby's memory loss it is like starting over for them. I was completely engaged and wrapped up in their story, I wanted to know everything. At this moment we only know the tip of the iceberg and I am sure we have a mountain of secrets to uncover. I am probably alone, but I will call it now I am definitely Team Paxton. <- I may regret that...

Jettie owned this book, the depth of emotions, character development and insane level of angst. I can’t even describe it without giving away the story. This is definitely one story you don’t want spoiled. My heart broke for these characters, my mind was in turmoil while reading and I couldn’t put this story down if I tried. Days later I am still wrapped up in my theories and thoughts. I have no idea how things will playout, I just know I am anxiously awaiting Slut

3.5 - 4 ★'s

Submissive wife runs into her long lost identical twin, that she hasn't told anyone about, and takes off on a wild ride down memory lane to who knows where and way past her seven mile limit her husband has imposed. Let's not forget there is a storm/possible hurricane bearing down on them. It's no wonder she crashes, ends up in a coma and loses her memory. But where is her twin? Good question!

Wow...this book has so many twists and turns, it's crazy. Being my first book by Jettie Woodruff, I had no idea what to expect. Reading the blurb, you just knew it was going to be super suspenseful and it was.

But...and this is a big but, if it wasn't for my good friend, Melissa (thanks Mel!), this may have been my first DNF! The Hero is HORRIBLE and just CRUEL...I just couldn't get over it. I've never read a bigger jerk and I've read a lot.

Paxton controls Gabby's every move from what she wears to when she can orgasm. He even fits her in a chastity belt at night...I'm not even kidding! He treats her like a slave telling her what to cook and how often to clean. He definitely treats her like a sex slave...getting his own pleasure while denying her hers! And he doesn't even let her recover from her injuries being in a leg brace and having a head injury! Nope, he starts in right away.

description

However, there are some "little" redeeming qualities. I didn't fall in love with him ~at all~ but...I can see him softening.

And he doesn't believe for one minute that Gabby doesn't remember things. He withholds things from her until she tells him where she was and he even punishes her by spanking her and other things.

The interesting part is 'this' Gabby LIKES it. No, not the controlling parts but the sex parts, of course! She slowly starts working her magic on Paxton and he slowly starts coming around.

The sweetest parts are Gabby and her daughters. 'This' Gabby is much more carefree and she hates the intense structure that's been set up for the kids. And they love it too.

So, all along there are little memories that Gabby is remembering usually in the form of dreams and they mainly have to do with her childhood with her mom and her twin. The problem for me is that there are incidents with the twins and as it's already confusing, it gets even more confusing.

There's a huge drama at the end and it ends in a huge cliffy. You think you know who is who but you really have no idea!

Besides the problem with the hero, the story is engaging, the sex is hot and while things are not great between the couple...they are willing to work on it. It will be interesting to see where the next book goes.

The next book is Slut coming out November 17th, 2015 but if you need a taste of the next book, check out this link: https://redhotromancereviews.wordpres...

Mysterious And Suspenseful

Whew! This book blew my mind. I'm so confused right now that I have no idea of what is real. I can't tell up from down! At the same time, I'm completely captivated by this twisted tale.

Following a bad car accident, Gabby awakens with no recollection of her life. Little by little, Gabby's past is revealed to her through flashbacks in her dreams. Never anything recent, her dreams only seem to shed light on her childhood. She goes through the motions, trying to reintegrate herself into the life she's told was hers before the accident.

Beginning to end, her husband, Paxton, is there to guide her. From what she eats, to the clothes she wears, to whether or not she speaks, Paxton controls every aspect of her life. The man has some serious control issues.

While there were a few moments when I saw glimpses of a human side to Paxton, they were few and far between. He's a grade-A douchebag in my book! I'm sure the next book will reveal more of the reasons for his behavior, (...I'm guessing a broken heart following the loss of the woman he loved, maybe a first wife...), but I just can't feel much compassion for him.

Pair an amnesiac heroine, trying to find her way in the life everyone told her was hers, with a domineering, emotionally unavailable hero, and you've got a hell of a story. I only wish it hadn't ended. Be prepared to be left with a cliffhanger of epic proportions! I'm pulling my hair out right now! Luckily, the second book is supposed to be out in a couple of weeks. I will definitely be reading it ASAP.

Thoroughly enjoyed SUIT. It's different and that's what I enjoy. The story sucked me in. I can't wait for SLUT! Jettie Woodruff makes some of the best male characters that I hate/love! Paxton is a prime example. I want to hate him, but I just can't. Definitely put this on your TBR!

This is my first go-around with Jettie Woodruff and she has left me confused...NO, she has left me confounded! What could be worse than surviving a horrific accident only to return home with no recollection of the life you previously lived? Gabriella Pierce finds her life to be not anything that she could have imagined...more than that she is finding that perhaps she is not the same person she once was...

To say Suit blew me away wouldn't really be accurate. To start, this mindf*** has one hell of a cliffhanger, yet I still found it fabulous. From the engaging story of fragmented pieces to the complex characters, I was captivated. To summarize the story would be tricky as this read requires 100% attention, and for me, going in with no idea what this was about heightened the aura of suspense!

Gabriella and her husband Paxton are an enigma...Perfect images on the outside with "nice everything." Behind closed doors the façade falls...

 photo PhotoGrid_1442972746801_zpswbcft2m2.jpg

It has been a long time since a character has conflicted me this much. Paxton Pierce oh so slowly took over Gabriella and ultimately began to own me! With soft touches and sweet kisses rolling into cold calculated forceful intimacy, Passion Ignited!

 photo PhotoGrid_1442972984217_zpswnkqo0zi.jpg

This rollercoaster of a read is stunning. It is cold and hot. It is set with an edge of unease and it is written as genius as the complex plot. Two characters unraveling the past...creating a new present...seemingly left with no future...I am beyond anxious for book 2!

I’m a dark junkie. I love the twisted books that play with your mind because it challenges me and sucks me in. Suit is an epic dark book. You will be questioning everything until the very end. You will be sucked in from page one. You will love the Heroine and HATE the Hero. You will want to bash the Hero’s head, yet you want him to have his way with you.

If you are looking for a complex dark book, then Suit is for you.

I didn’t really know anything when I got into Suit. I just knew my friends liked it and it was a dark physiological thriller. My expectations were exceeded and I’m happy to say Jettie Woodruff is a new dark author to look out for.

So, some stuff to note. If you aren’t a dark junkie, this book isn’t for you. It’s a REALLY hard book to read because the Hero is brutal. I mean, he’s just REALLY mean. I love him, I do. I’m so into the over-the-top crazy controlling Heroes, it’s like my secret guilty pleasure. Also, there are some twists all along the way and I kind of figured it all out, BUT the writing was so exceptional, it didn’t really take anything away from it.

The BEST part of this book is the writing. The feels it will make you feel and the book will give you goosebumps.

Gabriella is a robot wife. She does her wifely duties and has no personality. Her husband is Paxton and he’s a very controlling man. When I say controlling, I mean, he “allows” her to do things, she doesn’t have a say in anything. Its crazy addictive to read!

Gabriella is a twin, her sister, Isabelle shows up after 13 years of being estranged. Gabriella and Isabelle are in a car accident and when Gabriella wakes up, she loses her memory.

Paxton shows up at the hospital and is ready to take his wife, Gabriella, home, but Gabriella doesn’t know who he is. The only thing she does know is that Paxton is not like the typical loving husband.
I would say the star of the show is Paxton because he’s a complicated character with a lot of hang-ups. He “cares”" for the well-being of his wife, in the sense she is only a vessel to do is bidding. He helps her around the house since Gabriella is recovering from physical injuries from the car accident, but he also dominates her, in the sense he doesn’t ask permission to do sexual things to her.

You struggle throughout the book on who Paxton is and why he treats Gabriella the way he does. On top of all of that, you get flash backs of Gabriella’s past and it’s not a pretty picture to read. On top of on top of that, Paxton has two little girls and he acts like the PERFECT father, but behind closed doors he’s a monster of a husband.

As a reader you will be thinking, why doesn’t Gabriella just leave Paxton? He’s crazy. She has to cook certain foods, even though she doesn’t eat meat, she has to clean his house, she has to tend to the kids the way he wants them to be tended and he even puts a chastity belt on her at night! I know, crazy, but like I said, I love it. You struggle with Gabriella and the only reason why she hasn’t left is because she doesn’t know where else to go and she doesn’t want to leave her daughters.

You will soon realize the previous Gabriella is nothing like the current Gabriella. Gabriella also struggles with her former self, not understanding why she was the way she was. It’s a mind trip.

As the pieces start to fall into place, you will see a different side of Gabriella and Paxton. You still see A LOT of tension, but you will understand a lot more. I really loved this. I really loved figuring out the couple and why it was so hard for them to just figure it out.

It’s a crazy dramatic book and like I said I was blown away. This is the perfect dark book for any dark junkie.

FIVE CRAZY "WTF" STARS!!!

This story was awesome. I loved how it sucked me in from the beginning and kept me guessing throughout the entire story. I'm SO happy that I didn't start this series until book two was already out, and the third is due to be released sometime this month, because the cliffies in this series are killer. Definitely starting SLUT immediately!!!

On the surface, Gabriella Pierce lives a blessed existence living in a nice home with two adorable daughters and a loving husband. It isn’t until one day, on the cusp of a tropical storm, when Gabriella’s life irrevocably changes. The question is whether this particular event is for the best or worst. Paxton Pierce is a man who likes control in his personal and business life. He believes his wife, Gabriella, is dutiful and loyal, but when the arrangement suddenly changes, he doesn’t know how to maintain control.

description

What ensues after Gabriella’s terrible accident is a series of unanswered questions and cloudy memories. Paxton wants Gabriella to regain her memory but his motives are questionable. As Gabriella’s childhood memories slowly start to resonate, the tension continues to mount. Without a clue as to her present, Gabriella tries to acclimate to her life in the only way she knows how. These changes present many challenges to Paxton and Gabriella.

”There were no visions of a past, no recollections of who I was or where I had come from. Nothing but unconscious darkness.”

The plot is a slow build. Written from Julia’s POV, you can feel her physical and emotional pain and wonder just how she is able to balance such unexpected demands. Within chapters there are alternating passages from Gabriella’s childhood memories that reveal bits of her past and clues to her present. These memories continue to raise questions about how and why Gabriella’s life changed before and after the accident. How did Paxton enter her life? Why did she agree to marry him and to live by his terms?

”I own you and I own your pussy. I touch it whenever and wherever I want. Don’t forget that.”

This is my first read by Jettie Woodruff. Her style of writing is engaging and I did like the continued escalation of tension and suspense; however, I did feel the pace lagged at times. I was able to empathize with Gabriella’s plight, but still have so many questions. As for Paxton, he is still an enigma. With the cliffhanger ending, I expect book two to pack a punch.

Each book I read by this author I fall in love with her writing all over again. She has the great talent of sucking you right in.

This book will have you questioning what your reading. It will have you thinking and it will also have you talking to your kindle. Yes it's that kinda read. Jettie once again succeeds in messing with my head.

I don't want to say much about the storyline as I don't wanna spoil it for anyone. If you've loved any of Jetties books then this is certainly a must read. If you haven't read any of her previous books but want a book that has enough twists to mess with your head then this is it.

I've also gotta applaud Jettie for her uniqueness. As a blogger that reads a lot of books I crave a unique storyline so thank you Jettie.

Make sure you have time to read this in one sitting because if your like me you won't wanna put it down. Need book two now.

I have read every single book by Jettie. She has a way of sucking me into each story. Each and every story she writes has a different feel but this book right here has literally blown my mind. This book is packed from beginning to end with love, marriage, heartache, lies, betrayal, deceit, and to top it off a cocky arrogant asshole! Paxton Pierce is the KING of assholes and might have possibly have by passed Drew Kelley.

Right from the beginning I was hooked. The prologue left me with a million questions. Chapter 1 starts with Gabby not remembering anything about her life or who she is and she mostly definitely doesn’t remember Paxton. But I am like wait Jettie you can’t just throw me into this book after leaving me hanging even from the very beginning BUT that’s exactly what happens. I spent over 90% of this book trying to guess what would happen. And just when I thought I had things figured out, BAM the book went to a whole new level.

Gabby is thrown into a world she doesn’t understand. She doesn’t remember being a wife or mother. She doesn’t remember cooking, cleaning, going to ball games, family cookouts and she most certainly does not remember being Paxton’s dirty little slut. Do you think Paxton takes it easy on her just because she doesn’t remember?? HELL NO! After all, Paxton is a total prick. I still don’t know if I love him more or hate him more. You will see what I mean when you meet him. But her girls are amazing. They play a huge part of this book and I loved every minute of them.

Gabby still doesn’t understand how she married a man like Paxton but she sure can’t fight her desire for him. Just when I think I like Paxton UGH he would piss me off yet again. This book left me guessing right up until the very end and then it just left me literally. My feelings were all jumbled up and my heart was racing and I was one hot mess while also screaming NO I need more ASAP. I can’t wait to finish this amazing story in the next book Slut. I will literally be twiddling my thumbs waiting for this book because I need more Paxton and Gabby. I can’t wait for everyone else to read this book. Go grab your chastity belts… Yes I said CHASTITY belts and buckle up because it’s about to be a bumpy ride.

OOOOH BOY… Is this a mindscrew or what! Talk about one headache inducing read! I am simply confused… It’s been a while since I’ve second guessed myself this much, seriously!

Where do I start with this one?

The blurb gives a pretty good idea of how the story will flow. The story itself goes back and forth in time. I feel like that’s pretty much all I can say at this point. HAH!

Gabriella is one interesting character. So is Paxton. I felt like Gabriella felt. I love to hate him one moment, and I hate that I love him the next. Their union is a lil disturbing on one hand (depends how dark is your read) yet quite explosive on the other. I don’t want to say yet how I truly felt about these 2 because who knows what else is around the corner. I can tell there are other players lurking around but again, who knows, really.

My take, you’ll probably figure out quite early where Jettie wants to take you with the start of this duet. You won’t be wrong, I’m sure. Heck, I was theorizing by 8% and I was “right”. But where the “fun” really begins is seeing it unfold and trying to figure out the hows. No, you won’t get an answer at the end as there is book 2 still to come. Hence, the headache:p At least, this is how I felt anyways.

I think I see what Jettie’s trying to do. The present is all about Gabriella navigating her way around her “new life”. The turn of events are almost expected given the wiped slate that Gabriella’s provided. But the past is what’s messing me up. The more I read, the less I know. Again, this is how I felt at least.

Although I have some of Jettie’s previous works, this is a first Jettie read for me. And boy, is this ever a treat, if I can call it that…

Gah!!! Jettie, book 2, pretty pleeeeeease!!!!

First off let me thank my Floridian alter ego (my goodreads friend Page Turner ) for loaning me this mind fuck.

Well, if you are in the mood for a mind fuck of the Consequences series variety, this is the book for you! It's part one of two, ends on a cliffy but second book due out later this month.

I couldn't stand the H in this book. Just asshole.
The h was annoying. Every time this asshole swung his dick her way she was sucking it.

Our little h has amnesia after a car accident and remembers nothing about her life with asshole and their two badly behaved girls , who she loves anyway. So if amnesia storyline irks you, skip this.

The prologue gives away much of the storyline. You may want to skip it and read it after ( makes it more fun). I found the story itself was entertaining despite not liking this couple. Some of my friends on here five starred it.

Enjoy!

Side note. One weird thing. The author promotes one of her books, within this book. No kidding. You will laugh when you read that part. So cheesy.

Mean dom 🥵🥵🥵

Hero has Trent Evans' vibes in how he speaks to heroine but other reviewers have said not so dark. The darkness comes from the hero’s mean words but he does lighten up.

RTC.

*Oct. 4, 2022 Update*

A lot of typos but 🥵🥵🥵

You know the amnesia trope where one of the MCs forget who they are and turn into their complete opposite? Usually, the cold, domineering hero becomes kind and considerate. With the heroine, the doormat heroine turns into a rapscallion, surprising the dominant hero through her pure gumption.

Suit is a story about that heroine. My favourite use of the amnesia trope is taking the supposedly defeated doormat woman, bonking her on the noggin, and seeing her transform into a clever woman who talks back, with enough charm that the hero is too stunned to speak... and also too attracted to punish her too hard. The first time that I read this was in Sinden West's Memory, the second book in the Sins series.

Heroine is funny and there is unexpected moments of humour even amongst the sexual degradation and overall mood of mystery.

I skimmed crucial childhood flashbacks so that the final twist at the end of the story didn't hit as hard. That's on me that I'm still really confused about it but I'll take the author's word for it.

description
There were no visions of a past, no recollections of who I was or where I had come from. Nothing but unconscious darkness.

Waking up from a coma with a broken body and scarred mind, Gabriella Pierce is forced to live a life she doesn't remember. Who is this man who holds her hand too tight, who glares at her with contempt? Who are the two little adorable little girls who call her 'Mommy'?

Who do these memories—these bits and pieces of the puzzle her mind has become—belong to?

Because what she feels and remembers, isn't what they tell her—isn't what he tells her: her husband, Paxton Pierce, the man who takes everything and gives nothing. The man who'll yank her hair, spank her bottom, who'll tenderly kiss her lips goodbye.
Paxton spun me, slamming my hands hard against the door. His body molded with mine and I pressed my naked back into his chest. My heart beat in my ears as my body surrender to pure ecstasy. Paxton Pierce was my drug of choice. Pure, exotic, ecstasy.

And as Gabriella's mind heals from the accident, her mind doesn't. Days and weeks pass, as she's trapped with a man she hates to love, with a man that loves to hate her. But with each different, wrong piece of her, with each punishing grip, angry fuck, whispered, kiss-worthy confession, Paxton and Gabriella fall into a dark, deep love all over again.

Only, it feels like the first time—but it isn't, is it?

Being inside the mind of Gabriella was a terribly, lovely experience. Even though she never knew who or where she belonged, she still had a fire and a passion about her that I admired. She was strong, even when she seemed weak; even when she was forced to submit—eyes lowered, and knees trembling...thriving on Paxton's punishments, on his selfish nature.
Paxton and his power trip degraded me with elegance like it was his honorably duty to disgrace me with dignity.

Ugh. Paxton. Pax. My wicked, wacky love. He enraged me, he captivated me. One moment I loathed him, the next I loved him—just as one page he was mean, controlling, cruel, and the next he was soft, tender, gentle enough to make me forgive all his sins.

From the first chapter—the first chapter—I was utterly and completely intrigued in this story. Everything about it appealed to me: the mystery, the rough-love, the deep-rooted hate, the nail-biting suspense, the mind-bogging characters, the tiniest, spark of hope...
The pit of my stomach balled and tightened. A gut feeling. That dreaded instinct when you know you’re doing something wrong, or you can sense something bad about to happen.

...that quickly died, as my hopes were drenched with tears on the last page when I realized all my questions, all my answers, were only the beautiful, shocking beginning.

“You have everything to suit your needs, and I have you. My slut, to suit mine.”

Suit (The Twin Duo, #1) will entice you, it'll deprive you, it'll keep you gasping for more—as Paxton's hand was wrapped like a pretty bow around your throat...punishing you, pleasing you, for wanting more.

Epic MindF@ck! I read and read a lot of books. I think I know this genre, Jettie got me, not once but twice. But, the way her story unfolds is subtle and dark yet truly twisted. Her writing is simple, yet deceiving. I.LOVED.EVERY.WORD.

I can't say more than read the BOOK! Jettie has a way of taking a horrific experience and walking you through it so it is palatable then flipping you so out of your comfort zone, you are hooked!!! I want to know more about Paxton. I want to get to the end and see that justice is served. I want my questions answered and more importantly I want a my Clydes to survive!

As a blogger, we get a lot of email requests to review new releases. As a reader, I'm always searching for that special book, something that will draw me from the first page and make me want to scream from the rooftops on how good it is, once I'm done. The synopsis for this book caught my attention, so I requested it as it looked like some mink fuckery would be in store. I'm always in the book for a good mind fuck, and this book delivered!

The idea of twin sisters seemed very unique to me. Especially how the author wove a story around identity. Adding to the theme are the two covers. Did you notice how fucking brilliant they are? One is called Suit, one is called Slut. Did you look closely and see how the words are almost look identical? Maybe I'm reading to much into this (pun intended), but if this was intentional, I want to give the author a virtual high five. Seriously, so clever!

If you read the synopsis, you are probably scratching your head like I was on what sort of story this might be about. 10% in and I'm already creating wild theories in my head as to what is going on. Which of course, I can't share with you.

The pace of this story kept me engaged and constantly speculating. Following Gabriella's accident, I had my theory as to what happened. And I was convinced I was right until the very end. Now I don't know what to think. I wasn't sure which way is up. My brain hurt. This is one of those times when I am frustrated with ARCs because I have no one to talk to and speculate on what is going on.

What I can tell you is that Gabriella's marriage to Paxton is all sorts of messed up. I'm not certain how the two of them came to be, you are given the sense that Paxton isn't in love with her, and has never been. Yet he can't seem to keep his hands off of her. You thought Christian Grey was a control freak? HA! Paxton now seems to define that term. To give you an example, he checks Gabriella's mileage before she leaves the hours, because she's only allowed to travel so far. SAY WHAT? And that's just the tip of the iceburg. He is a jackass to Gabriella for a good part of the book. But, he's not a complete dick. He's actually a great father and smart businessman.

“You have everything to suit your needs, and I have you. My slut, to suit mine.”

What was most interesting about this couple was how they interacted privately. Paxton lobbies threats to Gabriella for backtalking, not following the rules, etc. He intitially punishes her by controlling her orgasms, teasing her to a point, but not taking her over the edge. What was even more interesting was how Gabriella's reactions threw him off. She got off on his domination. And this completely confused Paxton.

“This isn’t funny, Gabriella. I can’t even humiliate you with an ass beating anymore. Your pussy likes that, too. I don’t know what to do. This isn’t you.”

You got the sense that prior to the accident, she was dry during every physical encounter. Now she gets turned on by the punishments. This changes the dynamics of their relationship in a big way. In a good way. And had me thinking my early theory was correct, even though I have no idea on the particulars of what happened.

Throughout the book, Gabriella has flashback to her childhood with her Mom and twin sister Isabella. We learn the rough life she lived and how she and her sister eventually separate. But a lot of pieces are missing form the puzzle. It's not until the very end that the author gives us that huge corner piece, leaving me rewarded and at the same time, extremely confused. It's that cliffhanger you knew was coming.

This is that book that makes me want to scream from the rooftops! This is something book clubs should read (kinky ones, of course), because this story is one you want to talk out. I’m dying for others to read this and give me their thoughts. My theory is nearly confirmed but the author added huge twist, and there are so many other part of the story left unturned. I’ll be checking my kindle daily waiting for book 2, that is for sure.

Suit (the Twin Duo #1)
Slut (the Twin Duo #2) by Jettie Woodruff
Suit 4.5 stars!! Slut 4 stars!!

“I was always the quiet one, the one who followed suit, doing what others told me to do.”

This was one of those series that I knew I needed to read in one hit, I had heard the whispers on the grapevine and I was glad that I had decided to read them together. The first book had me on the edge of my seat frantically page turning. What a mind f@@k!! This book had my head all over the place but in a really good way. An intricate storyline that will have you reading between the lines, assuming and then unassuming. Just when you think you know what is going on it isn’t and you are back to where you started…knowing nothing at all.

“I was the missing link, the broken one that didn’t fit anymore.”

I have to admit that in the beginning Paxton was a tough cookie to like, he came across as an obnoxious asshole, dominating, possessive and a touch sadistic. He lacked emotion and empathy, he was an empty vessel. But, and this is a huge BUT, I knew that there must have been a different side to him.

“You have everything to suit your needs, and I have you. My slut, to suit mine.”

Paxton was an amazing father and when you saw him with his kids you just knew that there was a different man underneath the charade. Having had the benefit of reading book two as well I am glad that I was proven correct, but by the end of book two (Slut) I adored him, despite his domineering ways.

Gabriella was Paxton’s wife and after a car accident she wakes up with amnesia. She doesn’t recognise her husband or her children and everything around her is alien and confusing. Gabriella struggles to fit back into her old life, especially with regards to Paxton and his emotionless ways. Everything seems to be a charade and she just wants to be Gabriella, but is the Gabriella that woke up the same Gabriella before the accident?

“I loved him, and I loved our magic. Even if it was all messed up. It was out and nothing could change that, until it could.”

With secrets and lies and little flickers of recollection slowly but surely coming through vivid dreams Gabriella thinks that she is slowly piecing together her life before and leading up to the accident that claimed her memory…or is it? Is everything as it seems?

“No, tell me truth. I’ve heard enough lies for a lifetime.”

Slut was not as intense as book one, Suit. Slut is what I call a book of revelations. A book where the past is finally revealed piece by little piece and secrets and truths are painfully divulged. Everything you thought you knew you don’t and what you thought was real was and wasn’t.

“Change the way you look at things and the things you look at will change.”

I loved how the past was revealed, I loved the transformation of Paxton and how we finally got to see the real him. For a man that I had loathed in the beginning I was glad my gut instinct had not let me down. He really puts himself out there in this book and I could understand why he was his emotionless self in Suit.

“We’re the perfect storm of two kinds of crazy.”

This was a book of second chances, a redo, how not to repeat the mistakes of the past when you are given the chance of a clean slate and a fresh future. I loved it.

“…I’m so stoked to make new memories.”
“I promise to make them better than the ones you forgot.”

I understand a Novella will be released in December. For this I am thankful, I still have a few questions that I hope will get answered…I cannot wait!!
