THE COMPLETE EDITION: PARTS 1 - 3 Bestselling Shifter/Vampire Novel. Series Reading order: #1 Chosen by the Vampire Kings #2 Stolen by the Alpha Wolf #3 Unlikely Mates #4 Awakened by the Vampire Prince #5 Mated to the Vampire Kings #6 Wolf Whisperer (standalone novella) Please start with the Chosen by the Vampire Kings series for the most enjoyment.
The arrogant vampire kings have always proclaimed themselves to be the rulers of all the non-humans making war between the species inevitable. In order to win, it is imperative that the shifters steal the chosen human female. The alpha wolf will take her for himself thus weakening the position of the bastard kings. No heirs means no future for the vampires. Something Ward didn't bank on was that the yellow bellied elves would turn tail forcing the wolves to flee or face defeat.
In desperation, one of Ward's pack members grabs a female vampire taking her with him to the wolves’ hideout deep in the mountains. The alpha is forced to take responsibility of the female until the dust settles... there are things that she can't find out about the shifters... things that would put them at further disadvantage against the vampires. In a few short days he’ll take her back to Sweetwater himself.
It soon becomes clear that being in such close proximity to this refined, delicately beautiful creature is pure torture. A few days suddenly feels like a lifetime. How he longs to be able to get under her skin and make her lose a little bit of that ironclad control she’s so desperate to hold onto. It doesn’t help that some of the shifters want her dead whilst others wouldn’t mind taking her for themselves. Shifter females are in short supply.
Stephany watches how her estranged mate is struck with arrow after silver tipped arrow while she is dragged away by one of the enemy. Lance falls to his knees, dying from his wounds, just as Stephany is knocked unconscious. After accidentally mating with Lance twenty years ago, she has remained celibate ever since. So long that she no longer even craves the touch of another, so long she doesn’t even go into heat anymore.
Forced to remain at the alpha's side, her resolve is sorely tested. Suddenly she's feeling things she shouldn't be feeling, her own body is betraying her in worst of ways. She needs to stay strong. Especially since Ward is a wolf and she a vampire... sworn enemies.
This story contains strong sexual themes/language and is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

Vampires and Werewolves are natural enemies. So what happens when they can't keep their hands off each other?
Hot Smexxy Fun for all!!!
This alpha werewolf is smitten and can't get enough of his vampire mate. But she believes she is already mated to another.
These two were great together. I loved that they communicated and truly cared for each other with no games.
The Vampire kings are back and bigger assholes than I thought possible. Apparently being mated to a human has done nothing for their humanity. Brant was supposed to be the nice Vampire King but his actions were horrific considering Stephany was once his personal assistant. He treated her like she was shit on the bottom of his shoe.
My major complaint was that there was no progression of the overlying problem of shifters and vampires mating with humans. The Werewolves are very forward thinking and have started taking human mates, but the vampires blindly follow lore, flawed thinking, and incorrect data. Brent is never made to acknowledged his errors or apologize for his evil ways. He continues to act like a neanderthal.
Some Spoilers! Definitely colorful language abound! Trigger warning, sexual assault discussed below!
I recently found myself lost and longing for memories of my past self, so I dove deep into the mother of all angsty-teenage-nonsense, otherwise known as the Twilight Saga. It left me with a softer understanding of who I once was, and who I had grown to become. It was an interesting retrospection in growth, but I was done, and was in desperate need of a palate cleanser. I find that smut plays an integral roll in a balanced book diet. When used appropriately it will sweep away all unpleasant or otherwise useless emotional memories of the previous read, lower ones standards and bring everything back to a comfortable neutral. It is a highly effective tool of divine distraction.
That being said, y'all I fucking hated this book. This wasn't my first tango with Hartnady, I enjoy her ahem, panache. I thoroughly enjoyed Chosen by the Vampire Kings, and stepped into this with the full expectation of a good time. **This is where I venture into some spoilery territory. If that isn't your thing, its time to part ways.**
TWO GOT-DAMN-PERCENT into the book I'm flooded with rage, and then panic.
"Her shoulders sagged in humiliation. At least they weren't going to rape her. That was something... Her blouse was shoved roughly to the side. "Not bad, I'm semi hard." If she wasn't wearing a gag, she'd puke for sure. Her stomach churned."
Excuse me, the fuck is this? She's a vampire, she is bound and gagged, at the mercy of her werewolf abductor. He touched her leg, grabbed her ass, removed her shirt and bra, he assaulted her and alluded to what else he'd like to do.
I nearly quit right then and there. My hands shook, I had to get up and take a lap and walk off my anxiety. THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE DIVINE DISTRACTION. NOT A TRIGGER FOR MY #METOO ANXIETY. FUCK. YOU.
The author used this scene to prop up the alpha, Ward, as the 'good guy', as he barged in, beat the shit out of the lower wolf and assured her that she was safe and would be returned home. Ward insisted she couldn't be left alone, they had to remain together at all times. He made it clear the other wolves would murder her if she tried to escape. Mmmkay.
19%: He insisted she come with him to his outdoor shower, he was, of course, aroused, and needed to cool off. LOL. But then he just started jerking off, in front of her, without permission.
WE LEAVING THIS SHIT IN 2017 WITH LOUIS CK'S CAREER, OKAY?
20%: "I don't think I've ever wanted to be inside someone so badly." He growled nipping at her shoulder. "I'm sorry, Stephany, I don't think that I could stop now, even if you wanted me to."
First of all, that's not how consent works, ever. Consent is all the time, or it's never. There is no "point of no return", either you have permission or do you do not. FUCK YOU.
It was about here that I realized I hated Ward. I hated his wolves. I hated Stephany. I hated them together.
It pretty much devolved like this until it was finally over. Sooooo, why didn't I quit? Excellent question! I don't really know, tbh. I think, once I isolated it was the characters I disliked, it was easy for me to compartmentalize and select the plot from everything else. There is a phenomenally interesting development that occurred in this installment. There is the sex, sure, but there is also a complicated relationship between vampires, humans and others. The dynamics based on a rudimentary and biased religion will crumble, things are in motion I am eager to the see through till the end. I cautiously started the third installment last night and it looks as though this particular theme was isolated to these characters. Heres to hope?

Stolen by the Alpha Wolf (Chosen #2)(Stolen By the Alpha Wolf, #1-3) I am ADDICTED to this series; I can get enough of this paranormal romantic goodness. With alpha males in all shapes and sizes with Ménage à trois, MFM love triangles (eat your heart out), Vampires, Shifters, and Elves. It is Sexy, it is Sizzling, it is smoking Hot, it is Erotic so much so that it jumps right off the pages and leaves you needing a cold shower. Sassy, headstrong females, and fighting to the death is not uncommon. So, what happens when smoking hot vampires and shifters, mortal enemies want the same thing; this is where things get so interesting, and the fun begins. These men are ruthless, they are vicious, power players, they are violent. There is lots of action, danger and war around every corner but given all that they love fast, they love with their whole heart and make you want to go and find your own. Charlene has woven a captivating, tangled web of lies, deceit, suspense, drama and love that will leave you breathless. The characters are to die for, and each have their own voice in this series. I love that we get their POV because it makes them more real. It is not all doom and gloom though there are plenty of witty moments and humour that will have you laughing out loud especially Zane and Becky, they crack me up. Don’t even stop to think just click and read and tell me I am not wrong. Happy reading!
This set follows the "Chosen by the Vampire Kings" bundle. It is every bit as good as the first set and had me turning page after page hoping it would not end soon. Charlene Hartnady has a gift with words that has you right there in all the action.
This set is about Ward the Alpha of the Wolf Clan that was last seen in the Vampire king set fighting with the Vampires. In the process several of the wolves captured or kidnapped Stephany, King Brant right arm warrior thinking they were getting the Queen of the Vampires.
This book has lots of heat and even some funny bits in it. I can not wait to read Unlikely Mates but I am one of those who likes to read all the parts in one reading so I am impatiently waiting for Unlikely Mates to come out with a bundle of all parts. All of the books from this author have been great that I have read, so you can't go wrong with any of them.
I liked it! The two main characters were interesting enough, BUT!!! Not. A. Fan. of making the MCs of the previous book out to be complete (COMPLETE!!!) assholes in this one. Yeah, that sucked for me. And filled me with rage!!!!! So, I'm definitely gonna read more books in the series, but I need to take a break and calm down.
OMG I absolutely Love this Series!!! It's a must Read!!
I messed up and started reading Charlenes books starting with A Mate for York I never knew that it all started out with the kings story with Tanya. I have to say I love a boon that has equal parts hot steamy romance scenes and lots of crazy banter between characters these books so far have won me over I may spill a spoiler or two so beware Stephanie was abducted in the previous book when the alpha joined forces with the elves to try and kidnap the chosen female aka Tanya Queen to the Alpha Vamps Zane and Brant this book picks up during that point filling us in on what happened while Stephanie was under the Alphas control which I really enjoyed the way Charlene handled it in the first book it only tells us Stephanie was safely returned nothing was ever mentioned about what happened while there although a tiny teaser was dropped about Stephanie standing in the hall way having to listen to the queen and her kings going at it and she had been celibate for 20 years or more after accidentally mating with her one night stand lover Lance and it ends with Stephanie asking herself what kind of witch craft did the Alpha use on her to cause her labido to awaken after being nonexistent for so many years. Then it picks up in this book with what happens after she had been kidnapped and she finally meets Ward the Alpha who is finds himself drawn to this female Vampire. They end up falling head over heels for one another and Stephanie gets a Major surprise one that could be her dream come true or her worse nightmare I wont spoil it for you but I love how it ended!! Thats all I'll say on the book so I don't spoil anything but let me just say the banter between characters in these books has had me in stitches I have never laughed so hard to a book in all my life and I've read MANY romance novels! I love Rouche I believe is how she spelled his name but he's so adorable I immediately fell in love with this character he is assigned to be Stephanies guard once she arrives back at the village after she and ward escaped the castle and when he takes her for a walk through the village the conversations between him and her are just too funny I think it has to do with the huge difference between characters Vampires are so very cut and dry and aren't as modern as shifters who keep up with all the human slang and modern sayings so when Rouche tells Stephanie he would be fire in the sack and she asks him why would he want to be in a sack you can't help but laugh LOL so many things I wish I could quote but I don't have that much time Rouche's story is up next and I'm very eager to read what happens with him and Becky cause the way the book ends Rouche is doing guard duty around her cabin and as he's patroling he hears a buzzing sound he cant figure out what it is LOL little FYI Becky is well known for being a huge believer in self gratification and often volunteers to provide many of the single ladies with BOB's LOL Rouche busts in her room to try and find out what the buzzing threat is to find Becky spread eagle with her BOB and she asks him Do you want to finish me off LOL!!! So im going to check it out let yall know how it is when Im done
Warning: mature sexual content, mature themes, and language.
It was so enticing that I couldn’t put it down, this book grabbed my interest from the very first page. I couldn’t put it down, I had to know what happened next. The story is well written with a very good storyline. This is book two of seven of The Chosen series.

Stolen by the Alpha Wolf makes room for another paranormal race in the wonderful world Charlene Hartnady created for us, lucky readers. Shifters come out to play. The book is a standalone but benefits from the amazing characters found in Chosen by the vampire kings. Once again, Charlene uses her story to confront the reader with a serious topic - racial prejudice. It shouts at the eyes how the author reinforces her beliefs in a world without prejudice and full of understanding. Stephany and Ward, a vampire and a wolf shifter, respectively happen to find themselves in a tricky situation. Taken by mistake, the female vampire is a problem to the Alpha wolf. He decides to take her back to Sweetwater to avoid worse problems with the vampire kings after the elves break the pact with the shifters to face the vampires in battle. The shifters lost the war and Ward must avoid the direst consequences to his people. He has a secret to keep and Stephany's presence puts everyone at risk. Stephany is surprised by the Alpha's respect and he grants her safety. But they have to wait before she can go back to her king. Love has no place in their relationship, but the heart wants what the heart wants ans the things get the hottest possible; going back to the kings is not what she wants. The book opens another possibility for the continuation of the endangered paranormal species. It is interesting and funny Charlene's view of the paranormal world. A kind of ecological awareness. She creates solutions and offers a new perspective. And we can't forget how hot her descriptions are, how funny the dialogues sound and how real the characters appear. The book is not so full of hot scenes but the story is pretty amazing. Excellent development. A very good read.
I am reading two of this author's series. Great stories
The is story had lots of twists and turns. I love Ward he's a big strong wolf shifter. Stephanie is a vampire in fact she's King Brant assistant, his right hand so she lives like royalty. The vampires and the wolves hate each other. Now we start the twist and turns. Stephany is kidnapped by mistake by the wolves, they were trying to capture the new vampire queen. Stephanie and Ward have this strong attraction to each other in which they try to ignore, but being in close contact with each other the attraction is just to strong. And the next thing you know she pregnant by the alpha wolf. I gave this book 5 stars the only thing I didn't like was it insinuated that the wolves had a way to have babies safely in which all the species are having problems with. But the only thing Ward did was take her to a human doctor I was not impressed it lead me to believe the shifters had a secret that they weren't telling. Take her to a human hummmm
Stolen by the Alpha Wolf: The Chosen Series Book 2: By Charlene Hartnady Kindle unlimited purchase Ward, the Alpha wolf, wanted the human female, Tanya, the vampire queen from book 1. So what was he to do with the female vampire? A beautiful female vampire at that. He doesn't trust his pack so he had no other choice to take her to his place. But there are secrets that the alpha has to keep for the safety of the pack. So she has to stay with him until it is safe to return her to her people. Stephany is a vampire. 20 years ago she accidentally mates Lance and he has never came for her in all that time. She hears all about his late-night fun with the others. It hurt at first, now she could care less. Now looking at this Alpha she is starting to feel things again. Will one night with him be enough to hold her over or will she crave more? I enjoyed this book. I recommend 18 years an older because of the sexual content. Book 3 here I come!
I hate when in a series the main plot drive is centered around a lack of communication. It seems to be the major theme in this series so I will be stopping here. I thought it would be nice having the cameo of Tanya and her men. Sadly, it was pretty horrible. Brant is an a$$ and a complete horror show. Lance is ridiculous and likely psychotic. The entitled pig headedness of most of the males in this series is a no for me. The women contort themselves into pretzels to keep the men who only realize how much they want the woman when either someone else is interested or their lives are threatened. Like I said, personal preference played a strong role in this review. Stephany was awesome and the twist with her pregnancy was endearing and one of the only major good moments in this series.
This was the story that delves into what happened when Stephany was “accidentally” taken by the wolves instead of the human, Tonya - as they had intended. It was actually a surprisingly interesting story that further adds to the world building of this supernatural society that exists and the dangers the different species are having when it comes to reproduction. Specifically, the lengths that they are willing to go to.
I will have to admit that the “Kings” in this story are not portrayed as the good guys. In fact, I’d be surprised if you don’t feel the need to just punch Brant in the face - several times. In fact, it really is hard to still like them - but I guess that’s neither here nor there.
Stephany and Ward just work. It’s hard not to empathize with the plight of the wolves, and then because of that - to root for them. It looks like Dr. Becky is going to be the next human to “fall” in the next book. I have a feeling that the “Kings” are not going to get any smarter. We’ll see....
I read the original book as an assignment from the sexologist. Sexscenes aside the book was great. Great enough to immediately by the second book. Which is this lovely piece here. Imo they focus less on the sexual content in this book and more on the story. Which I really didn’t mind. Following a different couple this time I felt more connected to this female Character. At a certain point I noticed that my hand was shaking because I got so pissed off at the ignorance of some people. I really recommend this book if you’re looking for something different in the erotica section. It’s all vampires and werewolves a bit like vampire diaries mixed with twilight and a small portion of sex. I’ll be getting book 3 soon.
Vamp and wolf. Wolf and vamp. Shouldn't be compatible but true love trumps all else. Stephany and Ward have so many obstacles placed in front of them. Her coven. His pack. Ancient Lores. Prejudices. But through it all, they overcome each and every one, together. Hopefully, their mating, though unconventional, will persuade the other non-humans that the ancient ways are always what's best for their people. The flow of this story was so smooth. The transitions were flawless and you will laugh and cry and even scream in indignation at some of the characters behaviors. That's what makes it an exciting story!
In a war between the vampires, the shifters and elves, Stephany who works for king Brant, gets captured and dragged away to the wolves stronghold. In order to keep her safe the Alpha wolf, Ward, keeps her in his cabin. Despite him being a shifter and her being a vampire they rut - often. It breaks her heart to leave him when he takes her back to her own kind. Two months later she finds out she is pregnant with his pup. But she's a slim vampire woman and won't be able to birth a baby. Add in the fact that her kings want to kill her baby's father and her lunatic mate also wants her back and it makes for a good read.
Adorable. Loved Stephany and Ward. Then again I'm definitely more of a wolf/shifter girl rather than a vamp girl. Especially when there as arrogant and self-righteous as Brant shows himself to be once again. Kinda interesting dynamic here though... usually it's the wolves/shifters that tend to be more traditional and the vamps that embrace modern ideas, science etc. Makes for a nice change... :) I also liked this twist on the 2nd chance trope, usually I'm NOT a fan of this trope but I really like how it played out here.
Very good story makes feel like there are real, not like but loved it, to have a man (wolf) like Ward is out of this world, I got my sister into reading stories like this my reading has turned from reading about humans too non human is lot better read for me. You will enjoy the series get all of them they are great enjoy.
It make you wonder if they are real and were are they. I am glad the author picked these kind of stories to write thank you so much.
Now this one was a ride on my emotions. I read non stop until the final page. Shew I'm loving this author and this world she has created. I can't wait to read the next one in this series. I highly recommend and it's an adult read. 18 + Perfect stream factor bedroom scenes without getting vulgar, so it stays a true romance. To me that's really important.
First time reading this author. I liked the book theme, but not all the language used. I also read this book on audio and I didn't really like the person who did the voice. Some of the language was strange and crude. Like why do they call breasts....mammary glands. It's a little weird. Still I enjoyed the topic and I liked reading about mythical creatures that can get pregnant and give birth. That was new to me.
I liked this one better than the first book. Gage was the Alpha wolf but he wasn’t as “alpha” as the vampire King’s were. And I always like Stephanie. I’m glad she found her true mate in this book. I like how this storyline challenged some of the archaic vampire traditions from the last book that were a little over the top for my taste. Now I’ve heard the next book is even better so I can’t wait to read it.
I'm not sure how I feel about this book. I wanted Stephany to be a strong vampire chick, but she seemed to be a damsel in distress. Having a side character talking about assaulting her in the beginning really turned me off the book. After that, it was good. I found that this book made me really dislike Brant, so I didn't want to read any further in the series. Overall, I read it to the end, I liked most of it, but not my favorite book.
A good enjoyable shifter book, Ward the Alpha of the wolf pack meets Stephaney a Vampire when the wolves try to kidnap the Vampire Kings mate they have an immediate attraction. The Vampires seem to believe in so many myths that they have lost their way these two prove them wrong in so many ways especially when it comes to interspecies matings. It's a good story with lots of hot sex and tough strong males.
Stephany gets taken by the wolves when they can’t get her queen. The Elves and wolf were working together to steal the queen away from the vampire kings. Only they ended up with her instead. Wade takes responsibility for her and she can’t help but fail for him. Only she accidentally got mates to Lance some 20 years ago. Now that she is taken Lance wants her back. But she only has eyes for her wolf. This is another great story!
Enjoyable story of the Alpha wolf falling for a female vampire, who was the vampire’s king assistant. During her captivity, both the alpha wolf and female vampire fell in love and made love several times before she went back to her vampire king. A few months later, the female vampire found she was carrying a special package. Cute story with some fracases. I would recommend this story.
Book 2 was not AS much adult erotica as the first book. But actually, I found it to be better. The whole 2 mates thing from the first book was just a LOT and not exactly my cup of tea. The Alpha Wolf story however, was much more streamlined. There was real angst with the can-I-can't-I have a baby....I wanted to totally shank Lance & that idiot Brant in this book. Some excellent side stories blooming in this story as well. Thumbs up!
I've read book #1 "chosen by the vampire kings" and couldn't put it down. I ended up finishing in one day reading at home and on breaks at work. Immediately downloaded book #2 and just now #3. I finished "stolen by the alpha wolf" in less than a day it was too good and too short! I need more! How cute is Stephany?!?! I mean Tanya has my heart too...Becky will steal it in the next book I'm sure.
