I wish there had been a book like this when I had been a searching teenager.
I believed in God, but didn’t really know what to do with that belief and I also had some pretty serious questions. I also felt I both could and should speak with or write in a journal to God, but didn’t really know what to do with that idea.

This book lays out everything so simply and clearly, using the personal experience of the author and others, plus scientific studies.

But now as an adult, I’ve read books on talking to God, including the century-old classic, “Outpouring of the Soul,” and the more recent life-transforming works by Rabbi Shalom Arush: “Garden of Emuna” and “In Forest Fields.”
So what did this little pocket guide have to offer me?

First of all, it addresses all the issues surrounding the building of a relationship with God. It also answers a lot of the questions people have that begin with “Why…?” or “How…?”
Furthermore, it also addresses issues that I got stuck in and couldn’t see my way out of. For example, distracting thoughts while talking to God and suddenly daydreaming in the middle of a session, and a general inability to concentrate – problems that I don’t have when talking in general. In fact, it addresses all the various issues that can come up and what they mean and how to deal with them.
There are solid problem-solving methods in this book that I can confirm they really work, in addition to advice on how to handle it when the problems aren't getting solved.

I've seen how talking to God in a meaningful way changes everything - literally. Things I just couldn't get to work out or situations that "experts" insist can't be changed or improved, actually did improve or even got resolved once I started talking to God regularly. (Many things either improved or resolved on their own or else I suddenly received a new insight for a method that actually worked.)

I highly recommend this book for beginners, for the religious and spiritual seekers, and for the doubters.

I first discovered this author when she was writing for Breslev Israel Magazine when I finally realized that the majority of the most eye-opening and resonant articles were written by Rivka Levy. You can imagine how happy I was when she created her own blogs and books, giving me even more of her compelling insights to read.
After my dad died and other things started falling apart in my life, I reached out to this insightful and spiritually “plugged-in” woman. Even though she has very little spare time, she still managed to read my emails and provide me with meaningful and supportive messages that helped me profoundly and got me back up on my feet, so to speak.

So why should you take this 5-star review seriously now that you know I have a connection with the author? Well, I guess because this isn’t some futuristic thriller or romance novel – the person behind the book matters when it’s a book about God.

And in this case, I genuinely believe that the person behind the book is the real deal.
