The best book I've read in awhile. A small town church with the exact people you see in real life... making up a completely believable story that I could not put down. It was dripping with scriptural truths but not in an awkward or cheesy way. Highly, highly recommend.

Shredded
Have you ever felt shredded by life, relationships and circumstances? Well this story let's you know even though you may have been shredded there is hope in Jesus. The cast of characters in the story will cause you to think and evaluate your relationship with the one who can put all the shredded pieces back together. Yes, there is hope and we must take the time to get to know each other, because we never know who Jesus will allow to cross our path. We can introduce the shredded to the Healer of all healers and the Restorer of all restorers, so be open and don't look at the outside package, look at the heart. Shredded is a powerful story full of forgiveness, healing and hope. I highly and strongly recommend this book.

Loved it!
Well told story with likable characters and some really intense scenes. This is my first book by Ms Rae, but it won't be the last. She's a new favorite.

Love, love LOVE this book! I tore through it in one weekend, unable to put it down. The characters were so shocking and yet so realistic at the same time and I was impressed by the authors presentation of the gospel in such a relevant way. I recommend this book 100% and we should all be more like Candy!

Books don't often make me cry - but WOW! I read the whole thing in one sitting, as I just couldnt put it down, and this one had me in tears by the end. This was so gripping, so touching, and so convicting. So sad yet so beautiful. A gorgeous picture of how Jesus can take our ugly past and make all things new. A very convicting picture of how, as Christians and church members, we respond to those steeped in sin who come seeking Jesus in true repentence and faith. I highly recommend you read this book!! Would definitely give it more than 5 stars if I could 😉

"Shredded" - A book worth reading!

in third person past, captivated me. Reading long into the night, I finished the book in two days. The characters are well developed and complex. Most of them grow and learn to be better people. Human trafficking, a main theme, is portrayed without gore, but the impact remains strong.
This is book one of a trilogy. I highly recommend this series.

A challenge to Christians
I have to admit, I was skeptical at first, not sure how this author would handle such a difficult subject. However, I think she did a great job!
This book is a good story, but also a challenge to the church (God's people) to reach out to the hurting around them, and to take action against injustice.

So believable that I disappeared for a day.
I couldn't put it down. I couldn't stop. I loved the story and the characters. So believable that I disappeared for a day. Shattered promises to be equally great.

Thought provoking
I enjoyed this book. It makes one realize what is happening all around us. Sex trafficking is out there destroying so any lives. It certainly reminds us that we need to cover our young ones with prayer.

One of the best books I have ever read. I know I say this about most of the books I read but in this case it’s a fact. Laying down your past and running with God for your future. Seriously this book is a heart stopper and totally unexpected!

I loved this book! Trafficking is a horrid thing and this book shows both sides of it. It also demonstrates God’s love for all who want it. Church people’s reactions in this story had me laughing out loud. Great story!

This book is okay. I really appreciate that the author tries to tackle such difficult subject matter, but much of the book is pretty illogical. I’ll leave it at that to not get into spoilers.

I had no expectations with this book. I received a free copy to review, and all I knew was that the subject involved childhood sexual abuse.
Wow. It knocked my socks off. It is a very deep subject and the author covers it in a beautiful way. I don't normally like a book with too many point of view characters, because they generally get confusing, but the author handled it very well. The chapters flowed gracefully together with the change of characters very easy to follow. And I don't think she could have told this story from just 1 or 2 perspectives. At least, not told it this well. It's a Christian story, no doubt, but it's not preachy or in-your-face. In fact - without giving a spoiler - one of the characters is a brand new Christian and watching her learn what that means is often funny and quite charming.

As I read this book, I really enjoyed the topics that were dealt with throughout the book. However, I struggled with the writing style as well as the various point's of view that were covered. There were just too many to get terribly invested in any character too much. I felt like it was excellent and needed subject matter, but the writing needed a little bit more refining.
I was really impressed though in other ways, which is why this gets three stars from me. I felt like it did really cover the hard topics of judgement in the church, sexual abuse, parental neglect etc.

Excellent story of God's grace and forgiveness! This books deals with some difficult issues and the author handles it so well. It really shows how us "mature" Christians sometimes don't take to heart the Scriptures that we have down in our heads...and what a difference it makes when we start living it. I absolutely love the characters and all of their unique personalities! I laughed, got angry, and cried while reading this. I definitely learned some things about myself and was reminded of other things. It's a must read!
