Uncle Amon has yet again wrote another book that not only is enjoyable to children but teaches them about animals. This book is all about a young whale named Willy. Throughout the story Willy learns about why he has fins and tail, the dangers of the oceans, predators of whales just to name a few. But most of all Willy learns life lessons, that we need to listen to our parents, be an active part of our family, and obedient when our parents ask us to do something.
Children will certainly enjoy the adventures that Willy goes on in the ocean. But teachers will enjoy using this book as a resource for their students when they are writing research papers about whales. The information is listed in an easy to read manner that will help younger students when learning about whales.

This is a cute little children’s book by Uncle Amon. This author writes quite a few children’s books. This one is about Willy the Whale.
Willy is a baby whale who is just learning about his body and how to move around in water and what everything is in the world. He learns about his fins, tails, diving deep, jumping, breathing, singing and having fun in general.
This book also has a few jokes in the back and a pirate themed puzzle for you to figure out.

I loved this book
I used it as bedtime reading for a five year old and he really enjoyed it we went through it in two nights I look forward to reading more

This is a cute, beginning chapter book for children learning to read. The protagonist is Willy, a young humpback whale who is learning from his mother how to be part of the pod.
Willy learns how to use his fins and tail, what to do when he comes in contact with humans, how to be safe in his environment, and the functions of whale singing. I like the idea of books that teach children real facts while they are reading about an animal they enjoy.
While there are only a few illustrations, they are in color and engaging enough to encourage the new reader to keep going. Chapters are short but packed full of information. There is a fun pirate maze and a few simple jokes to continue the fun. Especially recommended for ages five through eight.

A nice collection of short and cute stories and a few other things. Well written and edited. The jokes at the end are ok however I would have preferred an extra story or two. Four stars.

Okay
Books like this are so informational for children and hold such a wealth of knowledge. I really enjoy reading books, like this one and many others to my children, for if you start them young then they will grow to have a love for reading and adventure!

Only Editing Errors
Cute story with great morals, but it needs some editing. At one
King the same sentence was repeated differently, and one of the sentences could have been deleted. A few other syntax errors, but overall enjoyed it.

Nice little kids book.

My grandson thoroughly enjoyed this book. He stayed quite through the whole read, except for asking questions about animals he learned new things about.

Willy the Whale is a story of little Willy, the humpback whale. At a young age, he starts to learn about himself, his surroundings, and life in the ocean. Willy wonders about his fins and tail, and soon he discovers their purpose. As he learns to use these parts of his body, Willy is delighted to explore his surroundings. He swims around and deeper into the water.
The young whale soon learn many things, including how to react to humans, avoid dangers, and to obey his parents. Willy also gains some friends in his pod. Together they swim around and play. They have fun.
Follow the adventures of little Willy and learn with him. You will surely enjoy discovering things with him and his friends.

There are at least two things I like in Willy the Whale. First, I appreciate Uncle Amon for injecting moral values and important lessons into the stories. And, second, the minimal illustrations allows the reader to use their imagination. Thus, giving them room for, or even honing, their creativity.
Overall, I give Willy the Whale: Short Stories, Games, and Jokes a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. I highly recommend this book to parents and guardians with children 3 – 10 years old. This is an ideal gift for Christmas, birthdays, and other occasions.
