The UpLift Method: Less Pain, More Gain

Rate this book
Ten years ago, I suffered from depression and crippling social anxiety, and was often unable to sleep. Then, I discovered the wonders of lifting. Today, I'm a personal trainer, fitness coach, and fitness writer, with a primary goal of melding traditional strength training techniques with mindfulness in order to create a more effective exercise regimen.

The UpLift Method is a collection of essays detailing my personal fitness philosophy, my struggles to overcome depression, and how you can best utilize your time in the gym to get the results you want. Some topics issues within the fitness industry, the relevance of size activism, and why I feel that "mind/body" exercise is largely a sham but mindfulness should be an integral part of any exercise program. Additionally, the book contains a glossary of common fitness science terms designed to educate the newer lifter/exerciser on some of the important concepts necessary to properly guide your own personal fitness journey.
