REFLUX: Some Things Just Won't Stay Down: eBook

Rate this book
" SOME THINGS JUST WON'T STAY is a collection of over forty essays published in the UK and US since 2013 - an account of years of 'throwing up' purportedly digestible facts and poking through their unsettling claims. Chastity Belts, Bubonic Plague, Golf, The Bible, Tarzan’s Erection, Ant Weather, Freewill, Extraterrestrials, The Weight of the Earth, and Life on Mars are just a few of the many regurgitated items under consideration and in keeping with their claims of 'dietary expertise', cultural luminaries Deepak Chopra, Stephen Hawking, Frank Perdue, Angelina Jolie, Meryl Streep, Aleister Crowley, Richard Dawkins, Joseph Campbell and Moses among others contribute to the mix. The essays range in tone from comedy to despair, and in length from very short to not so. Each is prefaced with an image.

MC NEILL worked as a political artist for The New York Times, collaborated with author William S. Burroughs for almost a decade and Designed and Directed multi-award-winning television for fifteen years. His images have been exhibited in London, New York and Los Angeles. REFLUX is his fourth book.

"McNeill's experience and expertise rivers through this waterfall of words like his own force of nature; a perfectly reasoned stream of rationale flowing beneath the aimless chaos......By writing in this way, with a coruscating mixture of humor and wisdom, he sets out the methodology others, should they be brave enough to do so, can adopt, adapt and follow."
DAVID ERDOS- International Times

“Contrarian pop-rockets, ironclad poesies of deconstruction that will turn anything, a phrase or a global cultural treasure, upside down as the author pleases.”.
ROBERT SEITZ - Paraphilia Magazine

“A thought/bile-provoking collection loaded with strange, ironic, hilarious, and worrying patterns that Mc Neill evokes with gonzo scholarship and great charisma. Buy it”!
JAMES REICH - Mistah Kurtz!, Bombshell, Soft Invasions, The Moth for the Star.

“A very funny, very smart book. To be so knowledgeable and yet so funny is a rare trick.”
ALAN PLATT - Author - Foreign Fool
