Henry Allen "Harry" Ironside (October 14, 1876-January 15, 1951) was a Canadian-American Bible teacher, preacher, theologian, pastor, and author.
Ironside was one of the most prolific Christian writers of the 20th Century and published more than eighty books and pamphlets, many of which are still in print. As an editorial reviewer wrote of a 2005 republication, "Ironside's commentaries are a standard and have stood the test of time."
By far, this is one of Ironside’s best books. I’ve been blessed by many of his books, but this one is extra special. He takes an amazing book and helps us see what it means to first the Galatians and then us. Throughout he rejoices in the glorious truths of the Bible and the love of the Savior. As one delivered from personal striving for holiness into the freedom of Spirit empowered holiness, he points the reader always to the Savior. As always, it’s like sitting down with a friend and listening to them speak of One they deeply love. It’s simple to understand yet deeply profound. I can’t recommend it strongly enough to every reader, or listener. There are people who have recorded it so one way or another find it and its message.
Ironside's commentaries are devotional in style, as records of his preaching/teaching ministry. He does a great job explaining truth in a simple and accurate fashion. I have gained many insights that have helped me engage in the Biblical text of Galatians. And I have cited may portions of this text in a Bible Study I'm leading..
This I an excellent book on Galatians. Mr. Ironside has marvelous insight into the Word of God. The language may be dated, but the precepts hjold true, even today.
