KERRY After David’s betrayal, the last thing I wanted to do was stay in Kansas. So I traded in my cheating husband for a one-way ticket to the land of gondolas, cobbled streets and…. sexy daring Italian men kissing me in doorways? Just one…one in particular…
LUCA I’m used to it. Fast cars, glitzy galas and a few knockout supermodels on each arm. What I’m not used to is the bronze beauty I caught reveling in the sunlight. There’s something about the way she clings to me when I save her that makes me never want to let her go…

This was way to short. But it was very good. Kerry caught her husband David cheating with her close friend. She divorces him and goes to Venice to teach English to Young children. There Kerry falls right into the arms of the billionaire Italian Stallion Luca. Luca's girlfriend Maria trys to break them up and David Kerry Cheating Ex tries to get her back. Very Good Novella.
I gave this book five stars because it was a great read I loved both stories and how the hero had to make the herione see that even though they had money and power they were nothing without the women they loved. I would recommend to everyone that loves a great BWWM!!!! Hot like fire.
One word: Terrible. Since there is a word minimum, I will add that minus the so-called love scenes, the book read like a high school romance. There were way too many simple adverbs and adjectives.
I was very happy that I got to read two books in one. Both stories were strong, good, and short. I wish both could have been longer. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the characters together and how the books related to each other. Good read.
Just in Time and Falling for You are interracial books with Black women and Italian men. Usually when you get two novellas for one, you get just what you pay for. This was a free book with an extra one thrown in. You got what you paid for. Two novellas with underdeveloped characters and lots of sex.
Kerry and Luca for Just in Time could have been a much better read with better character development. The plot was practically non-existent. Alex and Samantha had a little better character development with some backstory even though some of it made no sense.
Once sex entered the book, nothing else matter. The editing was poor and contained quite a few grammar errors. Both books could have been better with a better developed characters and a thicker plot. Both books has interesting premises which were never developed.
I was pulled into the story. Black woman, looking for a fresh start. Italian stallion attracted to her. Crazy lady and murder suspect is there to interrupt the romance. However, you didn't spend enough time developing everyone. Big wonderful portraits of the characters draw me in. The story felt rushed in some areas, and unbelievable in others. They hopped in bed way too fast. Crazy girl says a few words and smiles before leaving. (What's the back story to her crazy?). Give me more so I can see what you saw in your mind before you wrote the story. IJS!
The stories were well written you could actually fell the characters in the book. The rating of four stars was for how well the story flowed and could enjoy the story.I would recommend Veronica Maxim to my women
The stories were well so well written you could actually feel the characters not or pain in the book. The rating of four stars were how well the stories flowed and the reader could enjoy the story without having to re-read the same line more then once. I will recommend Veronica Maxim to my women reading group.
These short stories follow two Italian businessmen who fall in love with two African American women. The first meets a girl on the street, the other falls for his secretary.
Neither of these are Mafia Bae stories, though that stuff does go on in the background. Both guys save there love interests twice, so there is a bit of Damsel in Distress-ing going on.
I recommend it for a quick read. There didn’t seem to be any issues.
When Kerry catches her husband in a compromising situation with a friend of hers, she divorces hi and packs up and leaves the country. She goes to Venice where she teaches English to young children and while there, she meets an Italian billionaire Luca. Sparks connect between these two, but drama ensues when a girlfriend and her ex-husband try to come between them. Will they get their chance for a happily ever after?
'Just in Time' was entertaining. The plot focused on Kerry (an American English teacher in Italy) and Luca (an Italian billionaire businessman), the protagonists, developing a relationship with smatterings of their pasts coming back to haunt them. However, since Kerry taught English, I was surprised to see that she always said, "Anyways," in lieu of "any way," whenever it came up in her conversations. Nevertheless, I liked the long short story.
Very Interesting. This is one of the stories I enjoyed in a book I recently completed 'With All My Love'. Both Kerry and Luca were honest about their past relationships and knew their boundaries. My annoyance with the author is not knowing that's a difference between caramel, mocha, & golden. I guess Kerry can change colors on a given day.
I tend to avoid billionaire romances as they often are weak and focused on the extravagant lifestyle rather ten telling a proper story. I would say that this one was a departure from that usual formula. Two better stories were told with aspects of lifestyle that were not the focus. I was pleased.
Seemed like it might’ve been a good listen. Female narrator read far too fast and the story was flat and uninteresting. Disappointed in the bondage in love scenes, unnecessary and degrading. Didn’t bother to finish. Can’t get back the time that was wasted.
Great read. Story line was easy to follow. The spelling and use of some words were incorrect, however the mind tends to insert what it should when reading a sentence. But for that 1 exception, the book was a great read.
I normally stay away from 'billionaire title' books but I'm glad I read this. I feel some authors should just take the billionaire title out (because more people would read these amazing books) just a thought..... And I love the cover...
Luca and Kerry's chemistry is so beautiful and romantic. *Sigh* I love there story. Basically, the whole book I envision my husband and I as the characters! Lol. Made me think of my dream romantic vacation with my husband; go to Italy, watch Mr. Andrea Bocelli live in concert and dance with my husband while Mr. Bocelli sings "Bésame Mucho" (that would be so amazing!!) But for now, I will just continue to watch him on Great Performances "Andrea Bocelli: Love in Portofino"
This book was short but not a bad read. It was just ok. There was instalove but that is expected in a short book though I really didn't see the connection. The drama with the other woman was good but the reappearance of the ex-husband was just weird. Overall I would try another book from this author.
I listened to the audiobook and it just was not good. The narrator was Eli Walker and she just spoke way to fast for the book and it kind of detracted from the story. I would be willing to try another book by this narrator though.
