Darius’ first cycle changed his life forever. Unlike his twin brother, he found out he was an Omega. Suddenly he is hated and shunned by his friends and pack. His only support was his brother, who stood by his side.
After an attempt on his life, he wakes up in a new place, with a new pack lead by Derek and Keith Woodland.
With the new pack, he learns where he fits into pack life. Continuing to hide from those who harmed him, while he heals his body and mind come with a price; the brother he loves, and wishes was with him.
Will he ever get the chance to see his twin again?
Ava's stories involve men falling in love. She prefers to write happy endings, since they aren't always a guarantee in real life.
When she's not working her day job in the medical field, she's working on her latest inspiration. She gets a lot of her ideas from real life or from other stories she's read.
She lives with my pets who constantly keep her on her toes.
Too many ideas made for a disjointed story: twincest, mates, shifters, non-con, alpha/omega, violence. This story was all over the place, and the constant flashbacks were all tell (lazy writing).
I found myself calmly reading through a rape scene; I was that detached from the story. The characters all blended together, and there were numerous plot holes.
This story follows Darius, an Omega fox shifter who was beaten to near death by his pack/family because they detested Omegas, he was rescued by a different pack who helped him heal and educated him on the value of Omegas. Darius then tells his story, about his Alpha brother being his true mate and the struggles he went through as an Omega in a pack where they were despised. The back and forth in the tenses was a constant throughout the story and was a little off putting at times.
I read this book mainly for the brocest *shrugs*, not even going to try and deny it. This story had some very hot brocest scenes, but what I love most about brocest stories is the taboo of it. However these guys are shifters and I felt that took some of that tension and 'tabooness' away from it . Like because they were true mates, it kind of made it ok that they were together, bonding overrides everything. It's not bad, just not what I personally love about brocest. That angst about both brothers fighting and eventually giving in to the absolute forbidden love/lust, just wasn't there.
There was an on-page rape scene and the bashing scene was in full detail, so tread carefully if violence makes you skeamish.
Nice sexy scenes and a good overriding story, just not what I would pick first for a incest or shifter story.
Just an added note that this is only the authors 2nd story and it is pretty fucking fantastic for only a 2nd!!
I think this is the first book I read with this kind of shifter. I liked that the Alpha and Omega titles were attached to an actual animal and not just the overall sense of power exchange.
The story had sweet moments, but at the same time, it presented explicit non-con and violent scenes. The author did a good job trying to balance them both.
The reader is able to see the depth of the MCs' relationship through Darius's eyes and his recount of the events of his past. I really liked Finn and his relationship with Darius. For a minute, I was concern about broken hearts, but everything worked well by the end. Derek and Kenneth were great as well.
The kink element is more of a power exchange than an SSC or RACK relationship, but it worked for the characters. Plus, it has some smexy moments.
I am a sucker for the a/b/o universe, so I had to read this. It contains true mates, shifters in heat and twincest. And alphas and omegas getting it on. So, of course, I loved it
I liked the premise, and the overall storyline. I don't usually read twincest, but I thought hey, why not.
I liked this world, where there are many shifter species living together and working together. I liked the characters too. The one thing that got to me was the constant flashbacks. But otherwise it was a well written story.
This was a great story with a lot of exciting shifter sex. I loved it mostly for it's taboo elements. It's extremely hot when the two brothers go into heat. I wanted one of them to break the wall down so they could be together. Since there were quite a few tragic moments for the brothers, I was very pleased with the happy ending.
I wrote this story for the BDSM writing event, Bound by Ink. I tip-toed around writing it but finally caved in and went for it. This is my second story I have written.
The story is written in two parts. Part one was written with flashbacks, while part two is written all in the present. I must have rewritten the beginning a half a dozen times before I settle on one that just felt 'right'. Some scenes were definitely harder to write than others, but I felt they were all necessary.
Finding Darius involves shifters, twinsect, true-mates, bond, manties, longing, Alpha/Omega, and much more.
The incest part kinda bothered me. The abuse, discrimination, bullying, rape, torture and attempted murder did make for an interesting story but not for the faint of heart.
