Well it has been done!!! Didn't think it would but it has.

I only got into the first two chapters of this when I gave up. The girl was way to immature for me. There is a difference in innocent and immature and this shows it big time. She acts like a 9 or 10 year old in an 18 year old body. To me that ain't hot. I felt like it was violation when reading William's P.O.V. when he was with her.

Sorry I tried. This series isn't for me. I still love me an Alexa Riley book just not this one.

Well, I didn't see that coming. I loved Owning her Innocence. I knew in that story that they loved the "Daddy" play. In Innocent Getaway, it went beyond that. I didn't mind it but like I said, I didn't see that coming.

LOL! “Innocent Getaway” picks up a few months into Haley and William’s relationship. They are totally living the Daddy/Little lifestyle in public. Some are accepting, some aren’t. Haley is wondering can she actually continue this and still give William what he needs, but still get the independence she so despreately wants. William has been such a work-aholic lately, he just isn’t fun to be around. Well he sets out to change that with a romantic getaway in store for the both of them. A beautiful island paradise. But, will this island paradise be their new beginning or their crashing end?

Alexa, you dirty, dirty woman. You are just too much with these two. Um office sex anyone? Yes, please! Even though this book was pure smut. You saw some growth with the characters. You saw them finally adapt and become comfortable in what they want for themselves and each other. Even though it took some trial and error it got there. I love William and Haley. I love this story full of pure tabooiness and if you love books like this, you need to pick up this series. It ends on a high and rumor has it we may be getting a final book come this December so prepare yourselves. I’m sure it’s going to be a treat.

Sooo, I wasn't going to get this book right away and read it, I lasted a whole couple of days, but not my fault! See, a heat wave hit, and we are NOT used to that where we live, and it was so hot at night I couldn't read. I tried one book, lost interest, then read right through another one and loved it, but, still too hot to sleep. Book #1 of the series had been beckoning me for a re-read for a while, because, you need a Daddy fix every once in a while, so I thought, why not? Well, after reading it, I remember how much I completely and absolutely loved the story, I mean, it is a shining example of what Daddy books should be. So, I was lost, after finishing the first, I bought this, and, while a lot shorter than the previous book, it is perfect!

Why is it perfect? It hits all the kink marks of Daddy books perfectly - it is 24/7, not just playtime, it is out in the public, they aren't ashamed or hid it, they both need it, as well as want it, they compliment each other like puzzle pieces and it is so darn smutty hot, yeah, it'll take your breath away

So, if this is your piece of cake, indulge, because this is a prime confection waiting to be devoured..... now need to go find some cake!

I'm not kidding. Alexa Riley writes the kinkiest stuff ever. I read the first book in the series long time ago but I didn't really like it. It was decent enough in my opinion so I didn't feel the need to read the follow-up. But for some reasons yesterday, I was in a mood for a D/LG book so yeah I had to go to Alexa Riley for it.

I liked that this book isn't just pure smut but there's plot in it. There's the part where Haley's dealing with the feeling of not fitting in that I really liked. And I liked Daddy Williams better here than in the first book.

Not gonna lie, some stuff in this book made me really uncomfortable while some just turned me into a freaking tomato. I mean Haley suckles on William's penis like a pacifier everytime she goes for a nap or for bed. Like I'm not even sure what was the appropriate response for that.

I'm really excited to see what Alexa Riley has in store for us in the next book in this series.

I tried. I really did try but I just couldn't get over Haley been such a brat. Even thou a year has pasted since the end of the previous book, she's even more of child now than ever. It was starting to piss me off a little.

I was expecting more DD/lg involvement but they have embraced the life style full time. It was just to over board for me and took away some of the enjoyment of reading this story.

However Daddy William still holds some charm and some of the sex is still hot, but I was still looking for more depth to the story.

Innocent Getaway (Innocence, #2) by Alexa Riley

HERO - William Darkling. Owns a construction company. Black hair peppered with gray. Green eyes.

HEROINE - Haley. College student. Short and curvy. Long brown hair and blue eyes.

OVERALL THOUGHTS - First, this is a book featuring a full time DD/lg (Daddy Dom/little girl) relationship. Everyone is of legal age, but Haley does play the role of someone younger and behaves immaturely during portions of the book. Again, they do this full-time, not just in the bedroom. If that’s not your jam, turn back now.

This novella is the 2nd in the trilogy and picks up a little over a year later. William’s been busy with his construction company and Haley’s been taking classes at the community college. She loves baking, it turns out, and now dreams of owning her own business. She’s also tired of not having William’s full attention. He knows it, of course, and plans a vacation to Fiji.

It was interesting to see how they handled their unique relationship away from their normal environment. There’s some mild misunderstandings. William tries to give Haley space to be around people her own age while Haley wonders if he’s growing tired of her immaturity.

While there’s plenty of DD/lg goodness and Brat Haley is full effect for most of the book, we do get several glimpses of her acting her actual age, which were refreshing and served as a reminder that Haley is choosing this lifestyle with William and knows exactly what she’s doing.

I enjoyed this entry far more than the previous one. It’s better written and there’s not nearly as many editing mistakes. It flows well and doesn’t feel as clunky. The wording is less “porn-like” and more sensual. The characters have more depth and actually feel relatable. It seems the authors were finally hitting their stride by this point. I say “were” because this is an older novella and I’m writing this in 2020.

Of course, it’s not without fault which is why it’s only four stars. There are still misspelled words and minor timeline issues. Don’t worry too much about the latter - they’re not so obvious that it ruins or changes the story in any way. I’m just a detail person. Speaking of, we still don’t find out William’s age in this entry. You’d think in a book with an age gap romance, you’d mention the ages. Overall, though, this book was MUCH better than the first.

SAFETY

Age: Haley - 19; William - still not mentioned. I guessed late 30’s, early 40’s in the first book and I’m sticking to that.

Sexual History: Neither are virgins. William is the only man Haley’s been with. William had been celibate at least two or three years before getting with Haley in the first book.

Condoms: Not used. It’s not mentioned in this book, but in the first one we learned Haley was on birth control. I assume that’s still the case.

Heat Level: Erotic - 5/5

Push and Pull: No

Cheating: No

OW/OM drama: No, but they both get jealous of other people. The jealousy is unfounded in both cases. Haley sees a woman touch Willam’s arm. Haley is pulled to the dance floor by a young man around her age, but she pushes him away and leaves. The next day, she bumps into him on the beach and he grabs her arm. William pushes him away.

Sex scene with OW/OM: No, but William allows another Daddy Dom (Adam) to watch as they perform oral acts on one another during a business meeting. It’s the first time he’s done anything like this in front of someone else. William was doing this as punishment for her attempts at getting his attention while he’s working, including flashing her panties at him.
Her private parts are kept hidden from Adam and she doesn’t face him, saving her from complete humiliation. She likes the attention from William, but has no attraction to Adam. She doesn’t even remember what he looks like. For Adam’s part, he seems more amused by her antics than turned on. I assume that since he’s also a Daddy Dom, he treated the situation as par for the course.

The only weird thing (I know, you’re like only? lol) happened afterward. William puts her on the sofa for a nap, but insists she keep her legs spread so that Adam can see her “kitty”. I didn’t get that - he’d punished her for flashing her panties, kept her bottom half hidden while going down her, talks about how her kitty is his...but then does a 180 and wants Adam to see it? Seemed counterproductive and I would think it definitely sent mixed signals to Haley. There’s no mention of Adam’s reaction to it so I'm guessing he didn’t think much of it.

The next chapter we get some brief thoughts from William’s POV on why he did it. He knew Haley would get off on it because she loves all kinds of attention. He plans to start play dates between Haley and Adam’s “little” and figures sexy times between him and Haley, and Adam and his little, would happen in front of each other at some point so why not start now? (Note: he’s not referring to partner sharing. He would never share Haley. Nor did I get the impression that Adam, in his novella, would share his little.)

Possible Pet Peeves/Triggers: Yes, see “Sex Scene with…” above. And again, this is a full-time DD/lg relationship and all the kinky stuff that goes with it, like pigtails, cutesy dresses, cutesy word swaps, using his penis as a pacifier, spankings...the list goes on. Note that she acts like a child or pre-teen, though, and not a toddler. There’s no diapers, powders, sippy cups, or things like that.

HEA/HFN: HFN There’s no epilogue, but it’s the middle entry of a trilogy. William surprises Haley by telling her he had a storefront constructed for her cake pop business. He then proposes with a ring he’s had since her 18th birthday. She accepts and tells him she wants a Christmas wedding, hinting at the final entry in their story, Innocent Christmas.
