Sharon C Jones is one of my favorite authors. Over the years I have read all her magniv books.. She is the best romantic storyteller. In this story, young lovers went separate ways never knowing that each had reached out to one another to be foiled by adults in their lives. Janna always wanted to be a model, and when she got the chance she took it. Malcolm was smart and wanted to be successful in life. The both got what they wanted with one exception, they no longer had one another. So fast forward ten years and they get the chance to make it together as a couple. They just have to make a few sacrifices for love. An A+ story. Magnificent!!
Baby, I thought oh no one of those bougie star struck high fashioned model stories. Biased walking into the book. Boy was I wrong. Janna Morgan and Austin Reynolds gives me hope in finding "the one that got away." Lost loves! I think we all have said, "I messed up!" If I knew now what I thought I knew back then. Well, maybe not. This story line was about finding true love and I read it quickly. Great story.
I really enjoyed this story about lost loves. It's been nine years since Janna and Austin have seen each other. She had an opportunity to become an international model and has now reached supermodel status. She sent a letter to Austin, but he never received it. Austin has become a real estate mogul. He reached out to Janna several times, the messages were never given to her. Now their paths cross, the flames are still there - but Austin hasn't forgiven her. Do they start over or agree to let the past remain in the past? These two characters bring out the best in each other, Austin doesn't seem so uptight, and Janna becomes more than a supermodel. Love them.
Who know whats best for you as a teenager? Who knows your heart, what you are feeling? For Janna Morgan and Austin Reynolds outside forces are saying to then you can't do this or that and hiding the keys to happiness. As fate steps in 10 years later it's trying to put a square peg in a round hold. Will the interference int there lives be for better or worst? A page turner well written and defined characters who you can't help but feel sorry for, other characters you want to slap, and say oh no she didn't.
Awesome story! "Getting hurt is a part of life. Staying hurt is a choice." Austin is still hurt that Janna went off to Milan to be a model and totally destroyed his dream of marriage and children together. He also was led to believe that she left without a word, a note or a phone call. So not true! Ten years later, Janna and Austin meet, talk and discover that Janna's manager and foster mother decided she should follow her career and forget about love. So they blocked all communication between Janna and Austin. Now they are both heartbroken over so much wasted time. So what happens now?
As I stated before, a second chance love story is one of my favorite genre. I read this story several years ago and was excited to read about Janna and Austin again. You will be delighted to see them reconnect.
I received my new Harlequin monthly subscription box, and per my usual, I was giddy with excitement.
This first book I read from the box was Model Attraction by Sharon C. Cooper. I’ve read one or two of her books before but some reason, had no clue she wrote Kimani romance. Guess I’ve definitely been slacking on my pimpin’ :).
Model Attraction follows Janna Morgan and Austin Reynolds; once high school sweethearts whose plans for the future were derailed when Janna was offered a once-in-a-lifetime international modeling opportunity. With no time to spare, she left her hometown and boyfriend behind with seemingly no contact.
Nine years later, Janna and Austin see each other once again in Atlanta. While Janna initially held out hope that perhaps they could talk and see if there was any spark, Austin was having no parts of that. He never forgave Janna for walking out like she did and has unconsciously spent many years resentful and heartbroken, leaving no room for another woman. No woman has ever compared to his first love, as evident by his failed engagement.
Austin is keen on avoiding Janna but as we know, even the most carefully laid out plans can go awry. A spilled latte at the bakery, a steamy kiss at a charity auction, and an encounter at a mutual friend’s business, shows that these two can’t be away from each other too long. Can Janna and Austin move past the hurt and pain of their earlier years and reignite the high school flame that promised forever? Or will history repeat itself when Janna’s work comes calling once again?
I love a good second chance at love story so there were elements of this story that I definitely gravitated to. I also like the transition was a bit longer and smoother than we typically see in Harlequin romances. Let’s be honest here, we usually read about the couple falling in love and getting married within 2-3 weeks. Granted, the first half of the story took place within two weeks but it was a solid 4-6 months before we saw them walk down the aisle. In Harlequin romances, that’s a lifetime! I liked that we were able to see progression with these two.
I like for the attraction between characters to leap off the page and while I liked Janna and Austin quite a bit, I didn’t really get passion from them. They would be considered a light flame to me as opposed to a full fire. Other than that, Model Attraction is a really nice and easy read weekend read. While this book does feature two other sisters who had their stories told before, it’s not necessary to read their books in order to enjoy Model Attraction.
P.S. Kudos to Sharon C. Cooper for giving readers a peek into the glitz and glamor of a supermodel’s world. I knew and believed her profession which is a good thing. You would be surprised at how many romance novels I’ve read about career women (or men for that matter) where they hardly spent a dang day in their offices. :(
Model Attraction is a Sizzling Hot story about second chances. Austin and Janna were high school sweethearts that had plans to marry after high school. Due to unforeseen circumstances the marriage never happened. Austin and Janna never got over each other and when they connected again it was instant combustion. The storyline was great and I read the book in one sitting. Once I begin to read, I just couldn't put it down. Once again the author delivered a story full of love and passion with a lot of twist and turns. I fine myself desiring to read more of Sharon Cooper’s work.
This was a fantastic read! After reading Macy and Iris's stories I couldn't wait to see what Ms. Cooper had in store for Janna. Out of all a Mama Adels girls, Janna was the most unique. She was the free spirit that knew who her biological mother was, but made something of herself despite carrying around that emotional baggage. Austin, while successful, was stunted emotionally by his emotional baggage with Janna. With them both ending up in Atlanta, from New Jersey, it was great to see how the mature adults resolved the issues left behind by the young children. This is a great series.
Janna and Austin fell in love as teenagers and planned to get married after Austin graduated from college. Janna had to go to Milan for her chance at modeling and they end up getting seperated . Distance and misunderstanding keeps them apart for ten years until they have a chance meeting. They find out the attraction is still there. I loved being able to catch up with Iris, Macy, and their families as well.
Man did I love Janna and Austin. Typically when we read stories of love lost, it;'s the woman bearing the anger, but, not this time honey. Mr. Austin is pissed. The love of his life Janna Morgan left him without a word of goodbye to pursue a modeling career. A chance encounter at a coffee shops puts Austin face to face with the beautiful model where he is left to sort out his feelings. Which path will he choose... you'll have to get the book to read about the bitter brother.
I really enjoyed reading Janna and Austin's love story because of the unique twist of how Janna was determined to prove that she loved him instead of the other way around! In the end they both proved that true love prevails overall even after years apart and other vices that kept the apart. Awesome read Sharon!!!
Thank you Sharon C Cooper for Austin & Janna's beautiful love story. Model Attraction was entertaining and accompanied by a couple of interesting plot twists beginning with Chapter 1 when his fiancée calls off their pending wedding. I enjoyed the story and I recommend it to all the contemporary romance fans out there.
What is meant to shall be no matter how long it takes. Janna an Austin became who they were suppose to be and came back to where they were suppose to be... with each other. Loved Phoenix too. Parents are a trip though. Lol
I love this book. It about high school sweethearts and their plans for the future but the adults in their lives has other thoughts in their heads "best interest". Well ridden! The love Austin have for Janna leaps off the page. Great read! Sharon Cooper you go girl!
I love Janna and Austin. There were made for each other from the beginning and despite all the obstacles in their way they made their way back to each other. It was great visiting with Iris and Macy again. Now if Malcolm can have a book that would be awesome. Great book Sharon!
Austin hurt and withheld his feelings for years after Janna left him! Can he take a chance and move on? Will Janna's reappearance make all the difference?
I thought that I had read this book and found out a couple of days ago I had not. Just as well because I really enjoyed Austin and Janna's story. It seems many players had a hand in keeping these young lovers apart thinking they knew better than the young couple themselves. Fast forard ten years, a chance meeting, a latte stained shirt, harsh words and finally an honest conversation led the two lovers back to each other. Before their union could be complete, Janna talked to and apologized to her mother after finding out her mother was always in her life just behind the scenes. Then Austin found out what I suspected upon learning of Janna's letter that his mother hid the letter from him. He found out in time to rush to Janna at the same time she was on her way to him. A proposal, marriage and both of them going to Milan for a year is where this story ended and very happily I might add. This was a really great love story that covered the gamut of emotions and things lovers face before finally getting to live happily together. Great read! A really great read indeed!!!!!
I liked this one plenty, though a teensy bit less than the first two. The intrusiveness by so many of Janna and Austin's loved ones and the lukewarm remorse for it annoyed me, however understandable it was supposed to be. Even Austin letting go of what Janna did back then and ultimately agreeing with her decision kinda irked me, surprisingly. It seemed to invalidate the hurt he went through and I didn't like that part of it. He could've still forgiven her without doing that.
But as far as the love story, I enjoyed it. I love a good second chance romance, and Janna and Austin seemed good together. A couple of things seemed kinda glossed over, like what exactly she did towards the end to 'clean up her image', as I don't recall anything to that end after her showdown with Phoenix, but that's relatively minor.
Austin and Janna's love story was so endearing and heart felt. So many forces kept them apart that it was like a reckoning taking place once they came back together again. I'm glad that everything worked out for Jenna to the point of repairing her relationship with Austin, building a relationship with her birth mother, and opening up the center to help foster kids transition into adulthood.
I love the flow of this story from beginning to end. I love stories that the universe allows second chances. I also love when opposites attract. Janna and Austin are definitely opposites in personalities that is. She is more sociable and fun, where Austin is more reclusive and serious, but when they come together they're definitely on the same playing field as one. This was an enjoyable experience. Great Read! ReneeG 👍
Writing ✍🏾 and storyline 📚 was just charming. A second chance scenario that was engaging. I always appreciate this author's works and I am happy that these older publications were released. This series was amazingly inspirational because the three characters were raised by a wonderful woman, mama Adel. I read anything I can that the author publishes.
This book was really good. I like the slow pace which was realistic of two people trying to get to know each other after 10 years and being afraid of getting hurt again. I highly recommend this one...
I loved reading this book. Loved how the characters interacted with each other. The story flowed smoothly and was wonderfully entertaining. I look forward to reading more by this author.
Amazing the chemistry these two shared. Love is definitely a beautiful thing especially with the one meant for you. Amazes me how their love for each other never went away. Second chance at what was meant to be. Enjoyed reading every moment of this book.
Austin and Janna fell in love as teenagers and that love continued a decade later. Too bad that decade was spent apart. But they are brought together again now will they work things out and be together now or has too much time passed.
Janna and Austin knew what they wanted at an early age. In spite of distance and time their love stayed strong. I was upset with her manager and his Mom, glad it all worked out for them!
