Highly Recommended...Loved

The America Civil War events as outlined in the book were accurate; sad, and emotionally devastating to citizens and the Confederate and Union soldiers. I feel, in a former life, I lived in that time of USA History. Now most Americans Love and Respect all soldiers - past and present , who fought and gave their lives protecting the USA Constitution so that Patriots live freely today. As this country struggles to maintain freedoms, without government "heels" on tax payers necks; more than ever, we need future hero soldiers and real leaders (no puppets) to protect the USA, keeping borders and the entire country strong.
A whole lot of page-turning action unfolded in this book: gun slingers, quick draws, rustlers, ranchers, killing and loving. I admired with respect how author Alfred Dennis crafted his characters...all were so human, I am sure readers felt they were walking through the pages... living in the time. A wonderful read; I cried, laughed and hurt..so real " I was in this book" ...Trail to Medicine Mound.😍 Thank You Alfred Dennis.

Just OK

Something was missing. The bad guys all got killed, and the good guys, although some were wounded, only lost one cow/bull. The story, however, lost all credibility towards the end when the writer inserted the phrase “ It isn't over until the fat lady sings.” Anyone familiar with this phrase knows that it is a colloquialism from the 1970s used mostly in sporting events, ice hockey, and some political events. It certainly has no place in a shoot-em-up western in the 1860s. It would be hard for me to take this writer seriously in the future.

An AD Western Which Takes Place In West Texas After the Civil War

AD has penned a western about three men who return home after the Civil War thinking everything would be alright except everyone thought they were dead.. ADobe year land grab and elimination of the land owners who were killed by the land grabbers brother. A returning man finds his wife married to the land grabbers and the second Civil War starts Texas style. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS

Good book full of suspense, action, and a little romance. Alfred Dennis is an excellent writer.

I liked the structure of the story as it unfolded from start to finish. I never expected the ending but it was very well authored by one of the best writers that I have had the privilege of reading. I will follow a d read all of his books.

LG

After the civil war ended three men who had fought in the war together began the long journey back to Texas to a ranch one man owned. The journey back to Texas was dangerous fighting outlaws and Indians. When they arrived at the ranch they were in another dangerous fight to rid the ranch of land grabbers and rustlers. This book was fast paced and I enjoyed reading it.

The author kept switching between present and past tense in describing the action and I found it very irritating. The young romance was poorly developed and the old romance was pretty hollow as well. It was a good plot but overall a disappointing experience.

Great story!

I don't think I have read anything by this author before, I'd give this one a 10 for storyline but it was a oddly written, like it was a screenplay almost!
