It was mainly a Sweet story. Mostly a cliche but not at a high scale.. It was a adorably cliche. I read this story on Wattpadd. And i am absolutely not surprised that it got published.. Because it can be good book which can get you out from your reading slump. Its a story of a boy and girl(obviously duh) who share a dorm together. And slowly and gradually the sexual tension between them grow and they kindof get attracted towards each other. And fall in love.. This story has some little plot-twist and also with a annoying ex !! Well mainly its a good book!! Not re-read worthy but still a book that can make you feel fresh !!
I don't remember much about this one either but something that will always stick with me is the weird and creepy behaviour of the love interest. He was just terrible and I hated his behaviour, alongside the protagonist. This book was riddled with cliches and choppy writing. From the other reviews, I see that the author was young and most likely inexperienced when she wrote this so I will not be giving it a rating because I'm sure they've grown since writing this work (plus I read it a long time ago).
I thought this story was going to be something for me, but after reading almost half of it on Wattpad I realised that I was forcing myself to read it because I had hope that I would fall in love with it at some point. Unfortunately, this story is not for me. But I admit that there were parts of the story which had great humour.
This is a wattpad story I decided to dnf after 5 chapters. This "hot" guy is borderline rapey and doesn't understand consent at all. He sexually propositioned his own sister. It's just too much. Abuse is not sexy. Make it stop.
When i started reading this book, i had like too high expectations and it has disappointed me. First of all i have to say that english is not my native language but, however, i found some misspellings (people says that there’s a lot but i just noticed a few because im spanish and not american) but that hasnt got any importance because, c’mon, the author wrote the story when she was 15!
When i started reading the book i really loved it, i loved Nichole’s and Blake’s personalities and it was exactly the kind of book i was looking for, a player fall in love with a good girl (i know this is so cliche but i love that) but then, when i was getting close to the end there were some parts that really bored me, like the hospital chapter with her grandma AND there were some unnecessary things too, i mean the car accident was totally unnecessary and i didnt like it at all and if i am honest, i totally skipped the wedding because it was so boring... Finally, there are A LOT leaps in time and you don’t really know what happened in between, it just says: two weeks later, SIX years later and its annoying.
While I can accept that this book was written by Kimmy Hers when she was only 15 years old and that a first book is never an authors best unless they have had a ton of literature training in how to fix grammatical errors, write interesting characters and avoid cliches. I can’t however, accept the borderline rape-y attitude of the main male character.
As soon as Blake’s character enter’s the story he is hyper sexualised and extra handsy with the main character. With unwarranted comments even towards his sister character this boy completely put me off the novel. The cliche ness of the story and the childish inner monologue from the protagonist didn’t leave much to be anticipated from this story.
However, since this story was initially published on Wattpad many years ago, it makes sense for the story to seem childish as it reflects the authors age and immaturity. If Kimmy Hers was to rewrite this novel into an updated, and more appropriate piece of fiction I would gladly read it.
This book is about two people, Blake and Nicole. The story begins in a very pleasant setting, Nicole who lived with her grandmother was very excited for her first year at university. They first saw each other in the hallway of their dorms and they would give each other the 'shy smile' for the first couple of pages. This took a long time because there was a mix up with Nicole's dorm and Blake's dorm. Coincidentally, they were roommates. Things were starting to take a turn, when Blake was getting really sexual and Nicole and him had sex in her car.
I read this book on wattpad and I was pleased with the storyline even though at some points most of the events that happened were not needed, which dragged the book over a longer period of time. This book is very simple, but it is 'teenager cheesy'. I rated this book a 3 out of 5 stars because it wasn't bad, but it could have been more interesting in terms of keeping the reader engaged at all times.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
this was a reread but because i wanted to read the scenes between blake and nikki? (was that her name?) because the book isn’t amazingly written there is some pretty good sexual tension written so i thought i’d go again lol
i stopped when they actually got together tho bc books nearly always get boring after that oop
3 stars because i probably enjoyed it the first time i read it and i gotta give creds the author wrote this pretty young and i cant go lower just because i’m annoying and only ever want to read the sexual tension scenes :)
5/5 - I rate how I rated the book when I first read it!
Okay, yes, this book did have me fantasising over roommate romance. And it for a good reason, too! This book wasn’t that steamy but still had me blushing. The roommates thing is such an overdone, cliched trope but such a good one! This is a slow-burn, friends-to-lovers book which was paced well. I remember loving it.
It was a good book don't get me wrong, however the ending seemed a little rushed. Like the author just wanted to get the book over with. Overall I would give it like 3.7 stars out of five.
