"I hope these pages fill you with the optimism and promise of fulfillment that only writing can bring.” —Amy Peters
Becoming a writer is never as simple as just sitting down and putting words to paper. In these pages, Amy Peters provides a daily burst of inspiration and wisdom that will get you writing. Each day of the week focuses on a different element of the writer’s life:Mondays: Writers on Writing — Find out what helps other writers work. Tuesdays: Motivation — Stuck on a blank page? These tips will help the words flow. Wednesdays: Writing Class — Expand your skills by trying a different type of writing every week. Thursdays: Editing — Learn how to turn a rough draft into scintillating prose. Fridays: Biography — How did great writers do it? Learn from their lives. Whether you’re a novice scrivener or veteran wordsmith, journalist, or novelist, The Writer’s Daily Companion provides all the help you need to keep writing every day.
Fun, informative, and full of excellent practical and inspiring tips for writers. It's almost overwhelming how much information is packed into this book. Beautiful quotes adorn the pages, like one of my favorite authors, Elie Wisel, "Words can sometimes, in moments of grace, attain the quality of deeds." I'd recommend it to any writer. :)
This compilation of book reviews, author bios, writing prompts, grammar rules and other advice was very enjoyable. Next time, I will read the various sections by topic instead of in order.
