I have another Broody Alpha Hero to add to my collection. His name is Marcus Borden. Dirty talking, possessive and a beast in bed what more could a girl like me ask for in a book? A great plot that's what! Prior to reading the first book in this series I wasn't really expecting to be blown away. I mean I wanted the usual order of the day. Something to tide me over while I tried to figure out this funk I've been in. Well low and behold, I found an intriguing plot and from then onward I was utterly smitten with story. The times when I find a strong female character tolerable let alone love her, are rare and far in between. But Emma's character was so easily lovable I just couldn't help myself, she's feisty, hard headed and won't give up without a fight. Scratch that she doesn't give up period, and let me tell you I was gnashing my teeth at times because she's one frustrating character.
Back to the story, Borden 2 picks up right when the first book left us, and might I mention that the first book had a huge cliffy. Borden, is hellbent on protecting Emma from his enemies and at first it all looks quite breezy. But when he receives a shocking text from an enemy from his past, Borden realises that the Emma is in grave danger. While this book is definitely not short, it read like a breeze. With enough mystery, suspense and sexy times to keep me well entertained. Borden's dealings are more along the lines of the Mafia-ish but we manged to get some interesting perspective from an MC because of Hawke and Hector (please give these brothers their own books. Thanks) Some graphic torture scenes brought some dark elements to the story.
I love an Alpha male who turns to mush for the woman he loves. I just do... While maintaining his tough as nails more like Formica persona. This book had some nail-biting moments aaand some heartwarming moments, it also had a lot of excitement (never a dull moment.) I'll definitely be checking out this author's other work.

This is the continued story of Emma and Borden. I loved it! Once again I was snagged up at the beginning and held to the very end.
This one starts off where the last one left you.
The text with the threat on Emma's life. Borden doesn't take any chances. He has Emma on lock down. She goes no where with out his men protecting her. Now that he knows who's behind the threats he will do anything to protect the woman he loves.
After months of being pursued by Hector the president of the Warlords MC to use his port Borden decides to make a deal with them. They will also protect Emma if needed.
What can I say? This book had more steam. Whew! Borden was yummy!! With his pierced cock! That's right ladies it's pierced and he knows how to use it. Damn he had a dirty mouth! He always made sure Emma couldn't walk the next day. Haha! We also got a lot more action. I was on the edge of my seat the last 25% of the book.
Will the bad guys get Emma or will Borden get to them first? You will have to read to find out. Borden and Borden 2 were the best books I've read in a while. They both had everything I love in a book. Sexual tension, smutty sex, no insta-love, feisty h, bad ass H and action. I loved both Emma and Borden. I felt the love! lol
I'm hoping and praying we will get a book on Hawke! Please RJ Lewis give me Hawke's story!! Haha!

The previous book is about Borden and Emma getting together and this book is about the significance of their relationship. Kate and Emma are two different people with different upbringing but Borden holds them close to his heart. Here the past repeats once again and this time Borden is ready.
I love how much Borden adores Emma. Look at the way he describes her,
'Borden’s lips twitched. Emma could be a headache, but that’s the way he liked her. He loved that invasion of privacy, loved her potty mouth and shit attitude. Loved every fucking inch of that tiny little body too, including the soul that sat inside it.'
And she,
'He’d tenderly stroke my tongue, kissing the corner of my mouth as his blue eyes warmed. He looked at me like I meant so much to him, like I was the fucking sun and he was a planet orbiting it. That look put a lump in my throat every time. I wanted to shake him, tell him no, I wasn’t the sun, he was! And I was just the helpless little rock, getting closer, getting hotter, as I spiralled out of course and into him.'
I like that Emma is not one of those dumb girls that defies orders to stay in protection and went out on their own straight to the danger.
After a threatening text message from an enemy from the past Borden is more protective. Emma is sucked into his world where her life is threatened. But no matter, nothing can separate this pair. I'm forever going to miss hard, sarcastic, serious, lustful and sadist Borden. These two are always so horny, they can simply get to it anywhere. I specially enjoy their sarcastic sex banter,
"You’re too fucking nice sometimes, Emma.”
I looked back at him. “Then we balance each other out well because you’re a dick sometimes.”
“Yeah?”

You have a lunatic hero who is possessive and violent, who is also jealous and rude, and he takes what he wants without fear or regret. I highly recommend the Borden duet and not miss this angst filled, heart-warming romance of the sadist and his little slut.

Since I finished this book, I've been trying to find the words to write this review. This book was scorching HOT! This is the kind of book that I enjoy immensely. This story is truly irresistible and I couldn't think of giving this anything less then a fantastic five shooting stars!
This is not your typical flowery romance book. Book 2 picks up exactly where book 1 ended. Borden, our main hero, is bossy, dark, controlling and totally hot. He likes his sex dirty and rough. Emma is sucked into more of Borden's world whether she likes it or not.
This is one of the most unconventional romances I've ever read. Borden is a bit of an anti-hero, being a tough badass guy, completely losing it for mouthy, sexy Emma. Now he knows who is behind the threats against him and Emma and he takes any precaution to shield her from the danger that could erupt around them. When the situation gets out of hand, Borden is in fear of failure, repeating past failures and mistakes.
This second book has everything. It's a sizzling erotic thriller with a pulsating plot, vivid characters and great eroticism. Emma and Borden make a true connection. I really enjoyed Borden's jealous/possessive bad alpha behavior and his growing love for Emma.
The story was fully fleshed out and that ending left me speechless. Ms Lewis has created a world of interesting characters spiced with dark, edgy violence. An adrenaline rush is guaranteed!!!

5 I love Borden Stars
Well, I am always nervous going into book two of any duet series, but to my surprise, I REALLY liked this one. Borden 2 exceeded all of my expectations and I got exactly what I wanted: romance, drama, action and complete passion.
If you are looking for a love book filled with hearts and flowers, with a side of killing and gun play, then this one is for you.
The first book was kind of like the mini appetizer to the story. I get we needed the huge build up, I get it and I’m actually okay with it now. Because it all lead to Borden and Emma’s story. What I love most about this one is that Borden is a powerful man. He’s tough, he’s a killer and he’s a criminal, but he can fall to his knees by one person and that’s Emma.
I love Emma and Borden’s relationship and I love his need to protect her. In the end of the last book we realize that Emma’s life is in danger and Borden is upping his security. He will stop at nothing to keep Emma safe, even if that means he has to make an alliance with bikers.
I never knew where the story was going to take me. I had so many theories going on, but none of them pan out! I was taken by surprise every time. I loved it all. I love the romance, chemistry and love between Emma and Borden. I love how Emma has such a good head on her shoulders and knows when to fight her battles. She never acted like a silly girl, but the strong Heroine I love to read in the novel.
I love all the action, reading the side characters and watching Borden do his thing. This book was a real treat it kept me very entertained.

I am going to keep this review fairly short and sweet as I do not want to give much info away. This is one of those reads that I feel has more benefit to the reader to go in fairly blind. I will say this...I am in love with the Borden "duo" of books. This second installment was even more explosive, passionate, violent, and overall awesome than the first...and I liked the first ALOT! Wow!! I was on the edge of my seat by about 72%, and I was trying to turbo read and yet not skim just to see what was going to happen!! Do not expect a ton of hearts and flowers; however Borden does love with every part of his soul. Gosh, I totally fell in love with this extremely bad man!!! I'm not even ashamed to admit that I love him regardless of the fact that he's bad to the bone! He's had a lot of heartbreaking things happen to him in his life and has become hardened because of it; but I loved that the heroine was able to "bring colour back into his world."
As far as the heroine goes...she was one of those heroine's that I highly respected. She is bad ass to her core; and yet she has such a good heart that she would give the shirt off her back for those she loves. The relationship between her and Borden would not be considered healthy; but it worked for them. There is extreme love between the two and also ownership and very violent,hardcore passion! I soaked it all up!!! It for sure isn't healthy though, but I didn't care in the least as these two somewhat broken souls became whole once they were united! To me that is a perfect romance book at its best!
I rarely like to recommend a read as I feel a ton of pressure if my friends will or will not like it. I do feel sad that this book seems to be somewhat overlooked. I almost didn't read it because I hadn't seen many people that I had known read it. I am so glad that I went with my instinct and gave it a chance! Even better, there is no cliffhanger, although there is high potential that we will get more story with some of the secondary characters who are very intriguing.
All in all, this will go down as one of my favorite reads of the year!!!

5 MARCUS BORDEN stars
yeah, another man to swoon over!
book 2 continued on the cliffie from book 1 and took me on an epic journey of crime, bad, angst, violence, murder, torture, fear - I shook while I rode with the bikers (yeah you read it right!)while on a mission...they were a bunch of lawless pricks BUT they were a very important ally to end the "show down"...
the story was fast, thrilling, steamy, hot and sexy...the characters were completed and developped...I loved every character, Emma, Hawke, Graeme...even Hector (the bloody biker!) but most of all...
Marcus Borden - a very bad, bad man, a criminal, a killer BUT I could not help BUT love him!
yeah, you have put a smile on my face numerous times, Borden, numeorus times!!!
we are talking about the emotional spectre of a fucking rainbow, people!
above all the action filled plot, bloody messy crime fuck ups and other shit i can't even remember right now come to the second place to put a spotlight to the premise of this story - it's about the love - the second chance love that you grab and protect with your every breath that could be your very last...in a time so fragile and without any guarantees or promises...
it's just a messy feeling that dreads you, takes you over and makes you fucking ALIVE

So I finally read this conclusion of Mr. Marcus Borden, all these years later... Only to find out Ms. LEWIS has decided years down the road to add another book to this Original 2 book series.. So all I have to say to that is.. Ms. Lewis, book 3, when it drops next month, better be freaking EPIC! 🧐🧐 I'm watching you..
Because books one and two were just phenomenal. And kept me on the edge of my seat. Heart in my Button the entire time 🤣

I don't even know where to begin w this book, it was so much that I love and then some. It was a little dark, a little sappy and a whole lot of HOT and SEXY!
Borden won my heart w his grumpy, brooding, controlling and dominating attitude. We perceive him as a monster and find out he is so much more. Emma brings out an amazing man and intense lover.
I absolutely loved everything about this book! My nerves were shot, panties wet and emotions at an all time high.

Wow! What an extremely satisfying ending to this series. This second story was every bit as good as the first, which is rare these days. Borden was hot as hell, and the sex was FANTASTIC! Borden was controlling and dominating with Emma when they were together. Sexy as fuck.
But Borden could also be sweet and loving with Emma too. I was almost torn which Borden I loved more. :)
The back story of who was behind the phone calls and threats, and later the kept the story exciting as well.
I kind of get the feeling R.J. Lewis will be coming out with more books, perhaps Hawke's story, Hector's story, Linda's story, Jem's story. I, for one, would love to see that happen.
As for Borden's story, I got my perfect as hell HEA, and I couldn't be happier.

I want to give this more than five stars, even more intense than the first book we see Borden's past catch up with him and Emma, it's pretty brutal.
There are some really good side characters in this series, Grahame the fearless bodyguard, Hawke Borden's right hand man and brother of Hector the president of the local MC.
I really understood why author RJ Lewis started with introducing us to Kate and what happened to her, it made Borden's struggle that much more real and suspenseful in this book to keep Emma safe.
Borden is the most intriguing, no nonsense badass alpha and I really loved his character. For those of you that love feisty tough heroines Emma is that and more.
I just couldn't put both books down and I would love to read more about Hawke and his brother Hector. I'm adding this to my favourite shelf, it certainly belongs there.
There are some really good side characters in this series, Grahame the fearless bodyguard, Hawke Borden's right hand man and brother of Hector the president of the local MC.

Angst! So much angst in this sequel, my heart was palpitating throughout most of this read. More heartache flows into both Borden and Emma's lives But after all was said and done...there was sweetness. I really liked this series and so glad I jumped in.

If someone were to ask me what my favourite genre was, I'd say romantic suspense. Favourite hero? The unredeemable and/or redeemable Alpha bad boy. Favourite heroine? Badass chick to complement the bad boy. This book had my favourites in spades and I was in reader heaven!! I love love love Marcus Borden!! He has officially been added to my list of Fave book boyfriends. He's perfect lol. He's an a**hole, he's possessive, bossy, dominant, rude, smart, cunning, ruthless, etc. I couldn't get enough of his character. I'm truly sad to see him go. Emma was cool too, but she lived in his shadow. His book presence outshined her but that's okay. I am in no way complaining about it.
If you enjoy a great love story starring some badasses (can't forget Hawke because he turned out to be pretty amazing too!!), some action, some torture, some betrayal, and some crazy hot sex, then look no further. This author gives an incredible plot and you will not be disappointed.

I am absolutely loving this book. I was bewitched from the moment I started reading it. I loved every page, every character, every twist, so I’m adding it to my favourites 5-Star Reads. The author did an amazing job. Wish she had more books. Hope she continues writing these beautiful romance stories very HOT & STEAMY!!

Second book of Borden and Emma was a little dissapointing compared to first book. Maybe it's just me, because I am not a fan of stories which continue with unnecessary drama involved.
But I like author's writing style and story telling, so I will proceed with her book "Hawke", he was Borden's right hand in this duet.

Mostly brilliant
Once I'd got past the OMG moment in the previous book 'Borden' I just couldn't read fast enough and I was so glad I could move straight on to this book without waiting.
This started so well and was a fabulous read, better even than the previous one as Marcus is faced with his worst nightmare.
I loved Marcus as a character in fact this book is full of interesting characters and I can't wait to read Hawkes book. Strong characters are such a major thing for me and can make or break a book but this was so much more, the story held me enthralled in fact my only worry was Emma I read so many books where the female suddenly loses all sense and makes decisions no one with a functioning brain would ever make and I was worried this book would take that route. I felt better when early on when Emma tells us:
'I was doing as I was told because I didn’t want to be those dumb girls that defied orders and went out on their own, pretending there wasn’t a real danger in doing so. I watched enough horror movies to know they always died, and they died in the most awful way too.'
Shame she didn't remember this later on and this is the reason for the 4* instead of 5.

This book was more explosive than the first one, and I loved it! I just could not put it down! So much action and romance with twists and turns that me holding my breath! I just have to read more from this author! She just had me thrilled the entire time! Great characters! Intriguing story! And, a hardcore romance! What more could I possibly want???
With Borden now knowing who is after him, he takes every precaution to protect Emma. But, of course, she’s tough and doesn’t really want his protection. Their life together is taking on more of a permanent relationship. Emma already knows that she loves Marcus, but what is he feeling?? As she spends more time with him, she sees in his eyes just how much she means to him. Will it last though? Is she just another woman to him? Marcus, however, knows that Emma is under his skin. He can’t breath without her. And, that’s why he has to save her from the enemy that threatens both his and her lives. That climax was like, “holy s**t”, Borden is one desilient male! If I didn’t like him all that much in book one, I surely did now in this book. He’s as tough as tough can be, and you have to love him for it. This book was really one that I was surprised about. Not much hype regarding it, but it was amazing! Definitely looking forward to reading much more by this author!

I could have slapped Emma!!! No, I could have punched Blyth in the nose!! Let me just calm down for a second and take a moment of silence here.

Okay, R.J. Lewis had me sick with worry in this book. I tried to close my eyes on a couple of parts because I was scared something horrible was going to happen, but then I couldn't read the words with my eyes closed so I just kept on reading. I never bite my nails because I think it's gross, but this book had me biting my nails. I even got a small headache because I was so worried half to death.
Let me tell you something, this author knows how to put a story together that will manipulate your heart and mind into rooting for the two broken souls to find their HEA.
Borden was strong and loving. He was completely Alpha in every sense of the word. He was possessive, strong willed, rough around the edges, would protect what was his at all cost, and after he was done between Emma's legs, he made sure she remembered who she belonged to in a way that left her sore for days. How can I not love this author with my sadistic man loving self.
Emma, was so freaking smart until she was dumb! I'm not going to even talk about that because I will get a headache all over again. All I know is that I recommend this book to anybody who's not sensitive with delicate constitutions because the story is Mmm... Mmm.... good.

Last 100 pages of book were fantastic and incredible. specially hawke' s helps to save Emma were heartbroken and her words ."dont leave me. please dont leave me" (ı loved and cried my heart in my mouth while reading this part.) I hope R. J. Lewis makes new series or book about Hawke and Tyler
Anyway in this book we taste lots of sex scenes and love between Marcus and Emma is fantastic you can feel it from their dialogues and words .
I love this book and writer worths a try for reading....

The heat, darkness and tension ratchet up in the second installment.
The threat is surrouding Emma and Borden is all protective of her. Always with his men she can't walk by herself anymore.
In the same time, Borden is obssessed with Emma and their attraction and feelings reach insane level. They litterally cling to each other and make love with an unrivaled intensity.
There is torture too and I nearly could not read about what happened to Emma. I would have lost my mind!
So, a really good read!

This second and final part to Borden and Emma's story is far superior to the first book, it's more detailed, the pacing of the story is better. It's obvious to me anyway that the author really pulled out the stops writing this book it has a bit of everything that makes it the complete package for me. I still thought Borden was a jerk but that's who he is. Emma is totally in his thrall. The other characters were a mixture of good guys and villains but all were well fleshed out. I still really like Hawke and am pleased to see he's getting his own tale.

I really enjoyed this whole series. Borden is one bad motherfucker and this story is intense. I loved the intensity of Borden and Emma's relationship and how alpha Borden was. He was definitely the one in charge but Emma gave him a run for his money. I read both of these books in a day and a half because I couldn't put them down even to sleep. This story is kind of dark and Borden is intense, and controlling. If you don't like alphamales and bad guys he may not be for you.

This was excellent. Wow Borden is such a badass and so so sexy too. He has such a filthy mouth I love him!! This was definitely dark I had to brace myself. I loved Emma too she's super strong. I also loved the side characters like Hawke and Hector. I wonder if there will be a spinoff? I really enjoy this authors writing and am looking forward to the next book she comes out with!
