Breezy. Reminded me of the Clinton/Gore "Promise of America" or some goofy title with all the things they were going to do to make America better: 1) As if they knew better -sorry, Al ! 2) As if they had all our money to do with what they wanted 3) If they were able to move at super-human speed and rules as tyrants to bypass Congress. Like this book from my college Political Science class, thise books was full of platitudes and empty rhetoric. I lost count after 752 times of the author telling me that he "knows" Ben Carson can "easily" win the presidency and make America a better place.

Reads pretty fast, but is essentially a waste of time. I'm glad it was given to me at the FamilyLeadership Summit in Ames this year. I'd rather buy one of Carson's actual books as it probably is better written, and more informative than this INFOMERCIAL disguised as a book.

The author gives lots of credit to friends and colleagues for helping him edit the book. Apparently none had the ability to edit for redundancy. Nor did they catch this little ditty on Page 80, "They don't believe in American unity and assimilation under the ideals of hte Founders, they believe in diversity, and as Obama said in 'fundamentally transforming America'." By transformation they mean to UNDUE the principles of the Founders and replace them with their dream of a socialist utopia." I think "UNDO" would have been the preferred word as this homophone doesn't make sense to me. Just set the tone for me on how this book wasn't going to get better in the next 80 pages or so left.

"C" for Effort, "A" for Enthusiasm, and "D-" for Execution.

i'm a lot more likely to vote for Carson knowing he didn't write this book.

An absolutely must read! It's short and really brings what we should be focusing on to the forefront.

I received this book for free last year at the Iowa caucus.
Many of the same statistics, assertions, and quotes are repeated over and over. Too much of the first third repeats that Carson would win based solely on the percentage of the minority vote he would get. These pages repeat the same poll and vote statistics and how Carson is admired in all minority communities page after page in just slightly different phrasing. The rest of the book follows suit with other assertions and quotes repeated often.
I did enjoy the quoted speeches from Dr. Carson and some of the information was helpful in developing a picture of Carson's ideas and Carson as a person.
Overall, this could have been a much shorter work but did include a few worthwhile items.

Rx for America is a book written to help Ben Carson's presidential campaign. The author doesn't hide that fact, in fact he embraces it. He shares with us the math behind getting elected, breaking down the different demographics and how they have historically voted. He explores the reason behind the various trends in voting, and how these trends can be changed. He also explores the voting public's relationship with the major political parties. But above all else, the author is clear on his purpose: tell us who Ben Carson is, what he's done, and why he should be president. It is a compelling case.

I'm very familiar with Ben Carson, having read several of his books and studied on him prior to his becoming a political candidate. There was still new information in this book, but it does rely heavily on Carson's own writings to share his ideas. Anyone who has read Carson extensively won't get anything new out of Rx for America, but anyone starting to learn about him will.

The history of politics that is shared is easy enough for the layman to understand, and it's a good book to read in an election year. I actually wish all the candidates were this transparent - at least we'd have in writing what they purport to stand for.

Having read two other of Ben Carson's books, this one didn't have much new in it although it did talk about his election chances against Hillary. It was a bit repetitive, but in the main it covered the bases. Chapter ten was the text of Ben Carson's speech at the annual national prayer breakfast, which I had watched via YouTube. It is a very good speech and is likened in the book to Reagan's "A Time for Choosing" speech given at the Goldwater convention in 1964, some of which is reprinted in this book.

I did think Sousa gave a good defense for Carson's so-called lack of political experience and mentioned how Dr. Carson has been on the national boards of Costco and Kellog for a number of years, how he was head of a multi-million dollar section at Johns Hopkins, and how he many times had to make life and death decisions under pressure in a limited amount of time.

If you want to know about Benjamin Solomon Carson, read the book.

I was an early Ben Carson supporter. I wanted someone who was not a politician but had the intelligence, character, experience under pressure, and wisdom to potentially become a truly great American statesman and leader. I still think all of those things about Ben Carson, but after reading this book I was less enthusiastic about voting for Dr. Carson than before. It isn't because I have changed my mind about Dr. Carson as a person, but the book just didn't really get me excited about the Ben Carson campaign. Sousa dramatically overplayed the "race card," and repeated the same Carson credentials multiple times. And I wanted to see more of a plan instead of just where he stands on the issues. I still like Carson and think he would make a good president, but I don't think he has much of a chance, because he is not willing to play the political game that this country is too entrenched in to perhaps ever break out of. Let's see where this leads - Neil Postman anyone?

I received this book in the mail... I'm pretty sure my wife donated to the Ben Carson campaign. It was a quick and easy read. It relied heavy on quotes to support its suggestions and was slightly repetitive due to the layout by various subjects. Ben hasn't been my first pick for the primary.... but after reading this book I am very comfortable with Ben Carson as a Presidential candidate, he would make my top few as of now. The most interesting portion of the book is how John Phillip Souza IV makes the argument that Ben is the most electable candidate as he is uniquely positioned to capture the 37 percent of black voters that identify themselves as conservatives and goes into the reasons that they have in the past voted against their beliefs for Democrats instead of Republicans.

Blatantly political & biased book that compelling does it job but not much else. While Carson story is interesting & makes for a fascinating candidate, as a libertarian he is still too 'big government' for my tastes. There is an interesting point of how tenuous Democratic's hold on minority votes is and how a few percentage points could lead to a dramatic election shift. Outside, just a biased political book that preaches to the choir.

While not the best writing I have ever seen, and obviously written to persuade, it paints a picture of Carson's politics and personality. I definitely want to read some of the books Carson wrote to get to know him more.

It would be hard not to imagine Ben Carson as a great nominee for president after reading this book. I want to read more of his books now.

Not well written. Rather wooden. A short read. If you skim you can pick up the info wanted.
